Our first time at Carmax and was great!Overcrowded but the service still great. I do understand why they do have many, many clients. I was in many others dealers and believe me many of those others didnt have a single client but me at the time I showed up. They started my process online and finished in the store that make all faster.People who works there looks happy and always smiling. They are hiring so this looks to be a great place for work!! Everything was so smooth. Found my car online, secured financing, had it shipped to the store, went and picked it up. Couldnt have been easier. Great car at a great price. And picking it up took only about 90 minutes. Ive been in longer and less enjoyable movies than that!

And while we waited to be served, we found a couple of vehicles we were interested in. Two vehicles were taken while we were looking, and not being served.This was disturbing, as we were there, and ready to buy. Overall, this experience was unpleasant. My advice to others would be to make an appointment, and reserve any vehicle(s) you have interest.

The wait times were longer than expected. I provided my car for inspection and then immediately proceeded toward sale. The car had to inspected again in service department and then additional time for paperwork. The experience took ~2hours from the time I was provided a quote to the time I received payment. This could have been shortened.The associate on the counter had his headphones on. It was unprofessional and could be better. He was courteous and attentive when he was working with me. He had a good attitude and positive response and therefore the 3 stars.

The buying service staffs are very unorganized and slow. I had to wait 4 hours for selling process. At first, they lost the copy of my driver license, so I had to come back to give my driver license again. Then, they misplaced my car title and asked me to come back for my title which they had it. For the 3rd time, they misplaced my car keys, and claimed that I did not give them the keys at all. It took them almost an hour to find my car keys which they had in their possession in the first place.VERY disappointed on buying service staffs on their unorganized manner and slowness.

I had just been told by Carvana that my car was not being delivered today and it was still at the hub. This was the second rescheduled appointment and I felt so sad and lost and thought to myself what in the world am I going to do about a car. My husband looked at me and said lets go get you a car. I didnt know where to start but he did, he took me to Carmax. We arrived and we were politely greeted, our rep part of the presidents club asked if we had an idea of what we wanted and I said yes, an SUV. He let us roam the lot freely and once we had a few selections we headed inside. He ran some numbers for us and it was looking dim, was I gonna get a car today? I dont know but then we roamed the lot one last time and found her!!! A beautiful 2021 toyota camry meant for me. He ran the numbers and it works....I will her I said. Thanks to the entire staff for your professionalism and for making my horrible day into a happy one.

If you value your time dont go here. I made an appointment online to sell a vehicle and spoke to someone on the phone to confirm the details of my appointment. Appointment was for 4:30pm. I arrived at 4:30pm with all of the necessary documents and was told that itd be an hour wait (even though online and on the phone I was told the appointment would be 30 minutes and Id be in and out). After an hour, I was still waiting with very little to no communication or remorse whatsoever. Going on hour #2, paperwork was messed up paperwork, the associate manager refused to come out to speak to me, and more endless waiting with no explanation ensued. I ended up spending THREE hours here to sell my car.

Spent 6 hours trying to finish a sale that was started the night before, I was told it would take an hour or 2. They did my paperwork wrong in the business office and Ive spent the last 2 months going back and forth trying to get back the extra 1,500 they charged me. Most of the employees Ive dealt with are nice enough, but no one seems to know whats going on. I regularly receive conflicting information. They all say I should get my money back but no one seems to know how to do that. I will never deal with car max again

You guys are offering 24 hour test drives, in a way to bring in consumers. Then why are you limiting them from doing a 24 hr test drive more than once? How can you assess whether or not a consumer will be willing to buy a car? What if I wanted to do multiple 24 hour test drives for different vehicles, then make my decision. By limiting the consumer once you put the incentive in place, you will ensure they never return to give you business.

Update 6/22/21: This has to be the worst communicating Carmax. I am over the lack of concern from their agents. Who want our money. I should have known better when they brought a filthy car to my home for sale.Ephraim did an amazing job assisting me. The car looked new after service. I wasnt happy how it was delivered to me. It was filthy and photos didnt fully represent the car. It had some damage but said it never been in a car accident. They repaired it and buffed out the scratch marks. Due to COVID-19 and how long I had to wait to receive it I thought it would have looked better and been clean. Not sure what happen but when I took it into be serviced Ephraim and a new hire Allen were awesome! Tighten up Carmax alot of people are hoping for the best with you all.

Best experience in buying a car i have ever had. Both the sales department and the service department go above and beyond in ensuring you are as happy as you possibly can be. My sales representative Nick not only saved my family thousands of dollars, hundreds a months, he also helped me get rid of some negative equity. Dylan in the service department fixed dents i thought were impossible to fix, buffed out majority of the scratches we had issue with, recharged the Ac and refinished the brakes. Came in on a time crunch trying to get an appraisal for my vehicle. I walked up to the front desk and told them what I had came for. After making my intentions known I was told to sit at a desk and fill out some paperwork and wait for someone to come help me. I asked the man how long it would take for the whole appraisal process because I had to go to work and he told me about 30-40 mins, which was fine. I filled out the paperwork and waited patiently on my phone to pass the time. Eventually after endless scrolling through Instagram I noticed that 45 mins had passed and nobody had even come to check on me while I was sitting at a desk alone. Not cool at all even though I saw employees standing around talking and laughing. Now I understand that they might not be in the appraisal department and might be in sales or something else but for me to sit for 45mins and nobody even check and see if I needed any help or anything is very unprofessional. Big waste of time. Not coming back.

I didn’t realize until leaving (45 minutes) from my home. The maintenance light was on saying it was 5 percent oil. Yung reassured me it just needed to be reset to come back Monday. It was so inconvenient for me. I had work and school all week. Then after the driving I hear a weird noise. Turns out the rotors needed to be replaced. I literally wanted to just give the car back. The customer service at this location is excellent, and pricing is fair. Word of advice make sure you inspect your car before purchase (oil, leaks etc.) One of the 2020 models I tested had the oil smelling like gasoline and clear as water.. Usually a sign if a bad injector or gasket/ring.

Originally I wasn’t going to write a review but I felt that as a paying customer I was treated unfairly . The sales dept was probably the only good part of the whole buying experience and thanks to Calvin, he made the buying process very smooth and explained everything in detail without showing any frustration or irritation . Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the service department . My first bad experience was when I was recommended by a third party mechanic to have the tires checked out because there was cracking along the walls and I would need replacements for front and back in less than a months time, which I thought was ridiculous considering I just bought the car. So I scheduled an appointment and took it to CarMax but upon arrival Allen seemed irritated that he had to be assisting me. I let it go because I figured we all have those days but this was just the first of many awful interactions . I explained what was going on and he said I will receive a call to get an update on my car. Later on in the day I received a call stating my car will get the rear tires replaced . Confused I asked why only the rear ones would be replaced and he stated because the front ones β€œ weren’t cracked enough and still passed Georgia’s regulations .” Obviously I am not a mechanic and I think he knew what he was doing since this is quite literally his job so I let it be. The second interaction was when I was driving my car on my way home I had purchased this car about three weeks ago and all of a sudden my AC went Out and was only blowing hot air so of course like any normal person would do I called the service department and then scheduled an appointment to come have that looked at. He states he will check my car to see what’s wrong after I explain to him what happened later on in the afternoon I get a call saying that there’s nothing wrong with my car but the cabin air filter at my next appointment will be changed since it Has to be ordered. Unfortunately I could not make it to that appointment so I called and after being Hung up on I called again and was able to reschedule my appointment which was made for a month out and i was fine with it I understand . I also asked if or the oil and brake fluid to be checked because the car said that there was over due services from 2019 and 2020 which at the time I was not the owner of the car so I found it a bit odd that I was sold a car that had so many problems that needed to be fixed prior to being sold. So I come in for my appointment and Alan is absolutely so disrespectful he had an attitude like he did not want to be there and asked me if I had checked my oil with the dipstick? Obviously I had not because that is what his job is, that’s what he’s being paid to do, that is the whole point of him working at a service department and if I had done it myself I wouldn’t be bringing it in or scheduling an appointment for it. I thought that was extremely unprofessional so I did not say another word besides what was required of me to and then I left back to work.While I was at work I received a call where I was informed of how much I was gonna have to pay for the services which I told him I would not be paying for any services because those were overdue and should’ve been done prior to me even purchasing the car. he began to tell me how I was responsible for the services now since I have been driving the car. I told him to just not do any work on it and I will take it to a dealership to get it checked out and that was the end of the call. When I came to pick my car up in the afternoon I waited until the service department was closed because I did not wanna speak with Alan since his attitude towards me has been absolutely awful I did not feel like going through that again which a paying customer should not have to be made to feel like they are being a bother. When I open my car I see they left a piece from my air filter on the floor which now I am beyond upset since I have to pay labor to get it put back in when it should’ve be don’t originally or left alone. Overall terrible experience

I requested a car be transferred to the location near me. I received an email saying it will be here on a Tuesday. No update by Thursday. Called and found out car order had been canceled. The order was entered back into the system and I was told it will be here that Sunday. Heard nothing so called to find out where it was. Coincidentally, then received a text saying it was here. Went to pick it up and they couldnt find the car. After an hour of the staff searching, I went out to the car lot and within 5 mins found it. What should have taken a few days took over a week and then hours at the dealership. And because of no haggle policy, we were not given anything for our trouble. The car is great so far. Everyone was nice at the dealership. The only thing that I was not happy with was the showing of the car. The salesman gave me the keys and said you have 20 mins to go and test drive the car. He never showed me anything on the car, how to work anything on the car or nothing. Lucky I had owned one of the same kind of cars before so I knew somewhat about it. However this one is newer than the one I had before so features have changed and been added. Also, I had done my own research on this model. If I didnt know about this car that alone would have made me go somewhere else and purchase one. Our salesperson said it was going to be an additional 20 mins because they were short staffed. An hour later - no greeting and no help . Maybe I should take my good credit and purchases elsewhere. Please hire more dependable people and require that managers in every department help the customer when you are busy or short staffed. That’s an internal issue and should not affect the customer experience. Never again at this location.

I have to call the business office constantly and it normally takes 5 or more calls and an hour of my time to speak to someone. Theyll usually let it ring a lot, then pick it up and hang it right back up. Or they put me on hold for twenty minutes and then hang up. Sometimes theyll just transfer me to another department entirely. Then when I get transferred back to the business office theyll hang up. Horrible service and not professional at all. If management wants to dispute this then they should try to contact the business office daily so they know what its like to be hung up on and ignored constantly.

I was looking to buy a used commercial vehicle for my business, and was given instructions by my small business banker who also provided Carmax with instructions easily purchase the vehicle. My overall experience was terrible . I bought a vehicle from carmax in Norcross, GA. The vehicle was running fine until two weeks later, the vehicle went out on me while I was driving. Then I used my warranty to get me a loaner car and cover expenses toward the vehicle. They kept my car for two weeks to figure out a minor issue. I didn’t get a loaner car until a week after. The associates were not helpful at all to solve the problem. The service department lied on numerous occasions on when my car was going to be ready. I will never purchase a vehicle from carmax again.

Once the inspection was cleared, I received my text to pick up my car. I was greeted with so much Professionalism. Then Cam (I pray to God thats his name) took over, he seated me and got right to business. But what blew my mind was..at my final step I was taken to Diamond and Anna to sign my contract and these ladies greeted me with a smile that brightened the room. They impressed me how well they worked together and how they engaged in me. As I spoke, they listen. They were so in tune to my desires etc. They explained everything throughout the contract and made sure I was educated. But to only find out as I was leaving that they are NEW employees. WOW!! They handled everything like they been doing it for years. I pray they get a raise. Now my only issue is paying upfront for the car transfer,instead of it being added to the loan ( like Carvana does it)Also they give 30day money back up to 1500 miles and I believe Im going to need to take it back tomorrow because it doesnt sound right when idle and hopefully they have something in inventory to accommodate me for.the same price and monthly payments

Had issues with Service Department and was not real happy. Wrote bad review while I was waiting on TaTa Washington the service manager to call me back. After speaking with her and after she handle the issue very professionally. TaTa was a wonderful lady with a million dollar smile. Couldn’t be any happier when I left. CarMax y’all need to keep TaTa around as long as you can. Great asset to your company.

Buyer Beware!! After they sell you a car, you no longer matter to them. No one answers the phone during normal business hours. Ive been waiting patiently for my tag/registration for over 30 days. Im now driving around with an expired temporary tag, which I dont like at all. This place is shiesty and I regret giving them my money.

Did not get off to a good start. The sales agent was uninformed and inexperienced. Asked me to put my personal info in his cell phone to start the process. Got a new (better) sales rep to assist us. Then, the Finance Manager did not make much of an effort to find a good solution to our situation. Arrived on a Sunday with a preapproved letter from my credit union. Also, a trade in that was appraised and offer given. When the Finance Mgr showed up he gave me 2 options....1. come back on Monday after he can verify the preapproval letter or 2. apply for a 3-day CarMax loan. Came back and spoke with the Store Manager who acknowledged the poor execution and did a good job of trying to rectify the situation,

BAIT AND SWITCH! They will get you to come in on a few nice cars they have then tell you they are no longer available after telling you it was. Then they will try to sell you another car. This should be illegal but is common with used car dealers. Be careful!
