Had been there thinking this is the maharaja restaurant. But overall seems to be a decent grocery shop. There were some exclusive Kerala sweets like kozikodan halwa(Never seen this in any shops here). Some of the concerns- As in any Indian store, most of the products dont have MFG date.- I have ordered fresh goat meat in the counter. Person there given baby goat. It was looking like meat of a grown up animal which was dark red in color. but the person there was insisting that it is not. I took home and upon cooking it was not way tasting like baby goat meat. Disappointed !!- As someone mentioned earlier, they seems to have preferred/regular customers who are served first at billing counter. Person next to me was asking for something in counter and they were helping to locate it. I had to wait until it was done. It could have been better the person at billing counter stay there and let some one else from the shop help customers than making me to wait their.I will consider this shop again only for any thing which is not commonly available. And will definitely stay away from the meat counter.
Nice little grocery store. I was happy to see that there were other shoppers present in the middle of the day on a weekday too. This store is however geared more toward the southern dietary preferences with a heavier than average emphasis on jackfruit because there was lots of different kinds of frozen and not, jackfruit entrees/foods, and Malabri paranthas. The owner was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable in general conversation topics about his shop and totally not-creepy (I am female). I would visit more but this isnt part of my preferred cuisine.
Fresh curries;one of the best in near by
Under new management! This place used to be rundown and poorly stocked. You can tell the new management takes pride in this store when you see how clean and well-stocked it is. Very convenient stop with plenty of parking. Great selection of prepared food, snacks, frozen food/veggies, spices, juices and also fresh fish and meat that can be cut for you.
Not feeling like driving all the way to Devon? Dont worry 😊 Royal Maharaja Foods is close by. Granted the shop is smaller, but the essentials are there. Plus they have homemade (affordable and spicy!) ready to eat foods thatll tide you over until dinner. 👍
The store has variety of south Indian foods. The quality of carryout items/foods are not superior and not bad too. I wish the store had a welcoming feeling from the management and often its absencent. I do not want to give 3 stars just because of it. Overall, its a nice place...
I stay very near to this place and visit very often, i come here to purchase meat and chicken, they are very fresh at reasonable prices. the staff is friendly and welcoming. Im thankful that i dont have to drive around for the meat and chicken i buy regularly. i can give five stars for sure!
Good food
Good collection of food and snack of South India. Courteous staff...
Good food great service
Great place to get quick Indian snacks or other a large quantities for parties. They are one of the few places that always have some snacks ready to buy freshly made the same day
Ok for food taste. Not a ambient welcoming environment. The worker was not ready to share the offer that were already present in the shop and not willing to enroll for future offers even after providing phone numbers. Had to pay full price for an item because while placing order the person at the shop was not willing to share the offer price and had to pay full prize because of it.
A must visit for prepared kerala snacks and biriyani. Im a regular now. Friendly chettan at the counter 👨
