With the gentrification of the area, its good to see some generational places have not been chased away. I have fond memories of coming here as a child with my grandma, she always, always left happy. Im glad to see today as a customer, their service and variety is still amazing and valuable.

I love this place!!!! The owner Mike is friendly and very knowledgeable. He has the best prices for everything from fabric to notions a very large selection of lace, Rick rack, buttons and thread. His assistant Hassan is great also, he gives you the perfect match of fabric and accessories. He will even make you an outfit without a pattern. Just give him the measurements and your vision, sit back and watch it come to life. Hes just that good.Stop by and say hello and check out the place. You will not be disappointed.

What a pleasant experience! Staff was efficient and was able to give recommendations of type of fabric from a picture. I now have a new place in NJ that I can try before going to NYC.

Small but very diverse and cool selection of fabrics. Very affordable. The guy who assisted me, possibly the owner, was so extremely helpful and lovely. Even know some regulars by name. Cant wait to go back!

The shop is small compared to some of the other fabric stores I have been in New Jersey, but they pack a lot of amazing in the space they have. The staffs working there are knowledgeable, very personable, and extremely helpful.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very important for a nervous beginner like myself. Mike went the extra mile to help and give advice regarding sewing a zipper. Making my first cocktail dress and left out feeling more confident than I did going in.

My first time here... and the experience was very good... I had a pretty long list and they took their time and handle it very well. I traveled all the way from Philadelphia and I have found my new fabric store!!!

I had been to just about every fabric store/warehouse in Union and Ocean counties when a friend told me to try Halsey Fabrics. It was there that I found the perfect fabric and the prices were so much better then all the other places Id gone to. The quality of the fabrics I purchased was also excellent. Even my upholsterer was impressed. The customer service was amazing, as they went above and beyond to assist and for that reason alone I will recommend them to everyone I know and go there from now on. I wish I had know about them before I began my exhaustive search, especially since they are only twenty minutes away! Go there first before you go anywhere else!

New to Newark and looking for a place to go and pick up some fabric. This place is small for the amount of items they have, but the service was terrific and the staff was not only friendly but very helpful. The selection of items that were available to me was terrific and the staff was more than willing to order something that I wanted if they didnt have it in stock. Definitely a place I will stick with when it comes to my fabric and sewing needs.

Fabulous as usual they have everything you need its a family business that has been in business at least 40 plus years they are very friendly when ever I need something and call to order an item.it always on time they always make sure coustomers are happy and satisfied please go check them out.

This is definitely one of the best stocked fabric shop I have been to in this hood. Located conveniently at 10 min walk from Newark Penn station, this place tons of different varieties of fabric which would satisfy everybodys needs.I went there to buy something in particular, the staff was very friendly and helped me find what i was looking for.FYI- There are open from Mon-Sat from 10-6.

Halsey fabric has been a staple store in the City of Newark for years. There isnt anything that you wont find there in zippers, buttons, needles and fabrics etc etc. I hope they never close.
