Fun local coffeehouse with amazing service and hospitality! We had egg croissants and coffee / tea. Cute outside eating in the front overlooking the quaint Newark square. Highly recommend!!!

I used to swear by Starbucks now I can’t live without this River Road Frozen hot chocolate! I love it and it’s absolutely my favorite thing. I’ve also tried their cinnamon rolls & pizza calzone both great!

Nice local shop . Stop in for a quick bite and was very impressed. Home made foods and good coffee. Will be making it a new fav. When down that way

I’ve been going to river road for over 5 years now, it’s the only place I will go for my coffee! I have always had the best experiences there, the employees are always so friendly and polite, and the coffee’s and smoothies are delicious. I recommend River Road over any coffee place!

River Road Coffeehouse is located in historic downtown Newark. They offer hot and iced beverages as well as sandwiches and bagels. I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken salad has nice chunks of chicken, onions, and almond slivers. My coffee was the house medium blend.

Super fun menu selections. I had a Campfire Mocha and a Blueberry Muffin. First time visit to the city and really enjoyed spending a free hour in this shop.

Love this place and the vibe here. I love to come and get a vanilla latte and just sit and read.

River Road is my absolute favorite coffee shop of all time. They have taken Covid seriously, but still allow you to safely enjoy coffee inside/outside at clean tables. I recommend to all my friends and family. Friendly staff and great atmosphere! 10/10

Never stop here my first time staff was great had a red eye coffee it tasted great but it so hot that the bottom of cup is leakingHad egg sandwich it was slightly burnt on top and like all food now days was premade and put in toaster oven I miss the old days when food was cooked to order really how long does it take to cook a real egg

Warm casual environment, comfortable spacing & clean, delicious lunch (2 thumbs up on their stromboli!), and very friendly smiling staff. Great for a nice lunch after church with the family.

The Mark attached to River road is such a perfect little spot with an amazing selection of beer and wine. River road is a forever favorite as well. The best of both worlds!

I like all their locations but this one is close to home and has a great environment. I love every coffee / breakfast item Ive tried. The cranberry orange muffin is my wifes favorite!

I go 4-5 times a week. My coffee is always delicious and correct. Love their frozen lattes and my son loves the smoothies.

The River Road coffee shop on the square is a nice spot to sit and enjoy your drink of choice. Weather that would be alone or with friends. The only downside is the busy atmosphere. If you are looking for quaint and quiet, this is not an appropriate spot for you. That being said, the coffee is still great! There is not really anything bad to say about the place.

I love River Road coffee. I get the same thing usually everyday (sometimes twice a day) and the product is always very good. The staff is generally chatty and polite (Zoe is always very pleasant) and the location/atmosphere is inviting. My only issue with the store is the inconsistency with the amount of coffee that you receive. I use a tiny bit of cream and nothing else but sometimes (like today) I get a large drip coffee that is roughly 2/3 of the way full. This happens occasionally and after tip that would be $3.50 for a large coffee that is not nearly full.Hopefully that will be looked at and they continue to be a wonderful addition to downtown!

I wanted to take the time comment on my coffee experience at River Road downtown. The staff is very friendly and courteous. I don’t get a very fancy coffee, just a latte with whole milk and they do a great job every time, day after day! I stop by several times a week and I am never disappointed.2018 Addition: River Road Coffee has great coffee and service. In addition they have great community spirit. They have been a sponsor of the Licking County River Roundup for several years. They not only sponsor the event but volunteer to help in the cleanup with a River Road team! Thank you River Road Coffee for helping to clean up 30 miles of river,5, 700 lbs of trash, 860 lbs of mixed recyclables, 1,405.71 lbs of glass: 2,360 lbs of scrap metal, and approximately 450 tires.

Great coffee and service. Their specialty drinks are quite the treat, and the staff is super friendly and helpful on those mornings when a decision cant be made in a prompt fashion. Their suggestions never disappoint. The environment is great for meetings or when you need to just take a minute and enjoy a peppermint mocha.

This is a nice little getaway if you need a place to study. There is a lot of room everywhere, and plenty of places to sit. The view outside is pretty, and the coffee shop itself is decorated nicely. This isnt the main River Road I visit, but is when I need to study.

Coffee was disappointing this was my first time at this location but I expected better from River Road. Didnt even fill my cup anywhere near full.Edit: Gave the place a second chance and had amazing service, great coffee too just as Ive had at their other locations! Great place to visit during farmers markets and downtown festivals.

Clean. Went to The Mark. Nice staff, bartender by the name of Austin was amazing and knew his beer and wine.

The coffee was great. Service was slow and lacked the personal touch. However I wont give up. Everyone is entitled to a few off days.

The River Road Coffeehouse is aptly named....coffee in a two story farmhouse, and dont miss or overlook the tea or small curated menu of sweets and sandwiches. They carry loyally roasted coffee, a plus! We really enjoy the cranberry Petali tea served over ice...refreshing on a hot day.
