The best coffee hands down. We even buy the bagged to brew fresh for in the morning. If youre looking for coffee that isnt GMO, and is chemical free, and fair wage - without paying an arm and a leg- AND support a local business, youd better be going here. And its just good darn coffee.

Never had a bad experience here. Staff is always friendly. The only complaint I ever expect from people is that the drive thru is such a long wait but that just goes to show how great the place is! Recommend a frozen Galaxy!

I love river road. Such good coffee and staff. Granville and downtown Newark are the best. However, I cant give a 5 star because the 21st St location drive thru is HORRIBLE. Ive waited for 30-45 minutes easy more than once but if I run inside its 5 minutes tops. Choosing the drive thru is sometimes a necessity with an infant. Id rather support local but I cant wait almost an hour for a coffee when the point of a drive thru is speed and convenience.

Their drinks are fantastic! They have such a fun and wide variety of different options, and if youre in the mood for just about any kind of flavor, they probably have it. They do have some food options, which are a nice snack, or their breakfast burrito, which Ive been hoping to try soon. The ooooooonly thing is is that their line is always super long, but if they added a menu on the other side, before you have to order, thatd definitely cut down on wait times because their menu is so extensive that a lot of people probably have no idea for the specialty drinks(which has no menu online).

Service is always amazing and the drinks are just as good.

The coffee here is really great. I love the baked goods too. Wish they had more food options. The only problem is the service. Being nice is only half the picture. The other is having a sense of urgency. One day there were 5 or 6 cars in line and the baristas buddy came through and they were talking afternoon plans while people waiting. Totally unacceptable. Today I was in line for 40 minutes. If you could speed things up it would be tom hortons who? The wait is ridiculous.

They force people to stay in line with cones and I couldn’t get out when the service dragged on. I was stuck in line on a Sunday morning for 45mins and when I called she wouldn’t let me order to save time.

Think is my absolute favorite coffee shop. The coffee here is fantastic and the staff are better. Always a smiling face willing to help. The manager here is also extremely nice and you can tell that customer service is her number one priority. The layout is comfortable. Its pretty busy here so its not a super quiet environment. Seating is also plentiful and comfortable.

Try the pour over option. You get your 16 oz coffee served in a personal pitcher that you can pour into your cup as slowly as you want to keep it warm for a long time. If you like the taste of coffee and the smell of fresh brewed, this is for you!

Love going to RRCH! Today was a basic house roast coffee. Well made, reasonably priced. One of my favorite spots to meet up with out of town friends, as I can virtually guarantee a pleasant experience. Today was no different. Nice and relaxed atmosphere, good place to catch up. I used to be one of the people in the desolate Tim Hortons drive-thru who would snort and say things like who would wait in that long line just for expensive fancy bean juice but now Im one of the people who waits in the long line for expensive fancy bean juice (the longest Ive waited was like 15 minutes with 6 cars ahead of me at noon on a Wednesday). 6/5 stars because they have ridiculous hours and sell hats inside. AND they have dairy alternatives. They can do no wrong.

Love love love their coffee!!! Only downside is its at least a 15 minute wait, but Im willing to wait. Just give yourself extra time if youre going before work.

Previously I had posted that the staff was really nice, but the food was not prepared well. A regional ops manager reached out and asked me to come try them again and I have and on top of having really nice staff, they really do have good food and beverages. Highly recommend trying an iced coffee and one of their baked goods when your in the mood to treat yourself or starting your day.

I really liked this coffee house. They have a large choice for breakfast and to drink. It is cheaper than other places Ive been to and that was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very smiley and kind. Maybe I would have appreciated my hot tea in a mug rather than in paper but that wasnt really a problem.

They know you and call you by name. They remember your favorite drinks, which are, by the way, absolutely delicious! Their smiles are so friendly. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting. The people who visit here are usually very friendly, and frequently will strike up a conversation with you. The food that is available there is made at local, sustainable bakeries (and is always fresh and delicious), and their coffee is purchased from sustainable farms and roasted/ground by the owners. Best coffee shop to which Ive ever been.

This place is very nice and cozy, it even has outdoor seating for the warmer days of the year. If you are looking for a place for a meeting or just some quiet time with a book, this is the place to be. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. Their drinks and pastries are very good.

I love the coffee it’s the best, but the drive thru is absolutely ridiculous. Every single time I’ve been there (which is quite often) I am stuck in line for a crazy amount of time. I chose to go inside one day and can see why it takes so long workers are casually walking around talking to other employees. it’s actually super frustrating.

I love this place. I just wish you guys delivered. Or worked with Door Dash, grub hub etc... especially when I want to be lazy haha

Best coffee ever

Literally just sat in the drive thru for 10 minutes just to pull up to the box to be told we are closed and can help you tomorrow. Not one car behind us, and the clock literally just struck 7pm. I will NEVER spend my money here again. Good thing Starbucks is coming to town.

Whenever we are in Newark we try to visit this coffee shop. I have never been disappointed with the service or the quality of their work. The atmosphere is spot on for a relaxing little coffee shop. The only very small complaint is the location. If you happen to be headed north when you are leaving the traffic can be a real pain.

Im picky about coffee, so the fact that River Road (and Wiggins Street in Gambier, same owners) serve such a good cup makes me super happy. The only disadvantage to this place is that its too popular, and the drive through line is often wrapped around the building, just when I most need caffeine. So why am I writing a positive review so might send them more business? So they stick around, of course! Support your local business and get a superior cup of coffee! (Or cappuccino, or mocha - they have exceptional mochas)

LOVE the coffee and all the many selections. I prefer to go here because it’s LOCAL rather than spend my money at places like Starbucks, Tim Hortons.... I’d give 5 stars but man the drive thru is absolutely TERRIBLE. Needs serious improvement and it’s been like this for as long as I can remember. Sometimes I have to go to Tim Hortons just because I don’t have the time to sit in the drive thru for over ten minutes.....

Best coffee in town.

Great coffee but i just sat in the drive through line for almost 30mins, pulled up to the order box and was not greeted for over 3 min so i pulled up to the window and no one was there so sat there for a few minutes and no one was there. The person in front of me had just drove off with a cup of coffee ?I drove off after waiting well over 30 minutes total empty handed, It was not closing time either. I knew i should have just made some at home instead.

This is my favorite coffee shop. I love coming back home so that I can get some river road while I am home.

Really want to love this place. But a request for a simple Cuban coffee was met with the response that they wouldnt risk their $12,000 coffee machine investment. Id much prefer to support mom and pop shops, but cant really do so when a simple coffee request is met with trepidation and incredulity.Instead of word NO, a response of I havent had this request before, Ill have to clear it with my boss, but yeah, that sounds great, I really want to do it for you next time, would have been appreciated.

We were in from out of town with some time to kill and a need for coffee. This place is cute and friendly, service was fast and the frozen caffe mocha was awesome. If Im ever passing through this area again, Ill definitely be back.

This place is officially my favorite coffee shop. Fair prices, decent food quality, decent wifi, fun staff on occasion and convenient location. If youre not a total coffee drinker like I am, they still have plenty other items.

Clearly a local coffee house that is firing on all cylinders. They have good atmosphere with well laid out sitting areas and consistent coffee served. Y friendly baristas.Obviously the locals love it because when I have the opportunity to work there it is buzzing constantly with people.

I like to call the River Road drive thru lines the purgatory lines. Because you’re stuck in it forever. Take today for example. There was a mine, there’s always a line. But it wasn’t as bad as some days. I checked the time. I had 30minutes before I needed to be at John Clem across the street. 30 minutes. Ok I have time to wait in line. I WAS LATE getting to Clem. Again, across the street. 30+mins in a line with 5 cars ahead of me. And there’s no getting out of line. Once you’re in, you’re committed. How is this kind of line deemed ok? I’ve gone inside and I’ve witnessed why it takes so long. The workers are casually walking around and making drinks. While I value a well made drink, you have a line. It’s time to partake in the product you’re making and speed up your service. We pass the shop many times through the week and decide to not get it when we see there’s a line. Imagine all the people who do the same. Purgatory. 30minutes in a line of 5 cars is ridiculous.

The drinks are always made amazingly and the staff is incredibly nice. Good atmosphere indoors, too!
