Got a relaxer on 9/18 with Malinda. Scheduled my appointment for 4:30 and she did not start on my head until 5pm. Also gave me perm burn around most of the perimeter of my head. the worst spot being one that is a cut above my ear with picture attached. I called the next day and the manager Maria was not in but I was told she would call me either that day or the next morning. instead, Malinda called me and I did NOT give her my number trying to downplay giving me a perm burn and even texting me the next day trying to damage control and make it MY FAULT. I should not be getting injuries to my head from a professional. The manager Maria did not call me and I had to call the store SEVERAL times just to get her to speak to me. I was told she was either in a meeting or even not in that day. I tried to reach her again and she HUNG UP on me. Went in to get my head assessed and get my refund and she was refusing to give me my full refund and was even saying we shouldnt refund the haircut because it wasnt a part of the relaxer. Very rude and disrespectful with no care to what her stylist did to my hair. She only started apologizing after getting her supervisor involved to get me my full refund. Absolutely horrible experience, do not come here unless you want a free scalp burn.

I went to see Sima on my birthday for a haircut, color and eyebrow wax. She did do a nice job with my eyebrow wax but a horrible job on my hair. She is not equipped or trained to do ethnic African American hair. My hair did not turn out like the picture at all. When I asked her to taper the back of my hair she said no she could not do that. When I walked out into the mall that day and my mom saw my hair she asked what happened it looked worse than when I went in. When I went the next day to restyle my hair I saw the color was not applied properly and the roots of my hair were still black. I am not sure why I was put with Sima as my appointment was supposed to be with a Sonya Phillips. I will never go back to this salon again total waste of money and time.

She also had angled my hair to make it look better which I absolutely love. I had gotten highlights done and I love the highlights. Shes really nice and understanding.

Sima had done a cut and color on me and did a terrible job. She did not do anything like the picture i showed her. I wanted a blended look to lighten my hair but instead she decided to do highlights and the color was even lighter then what i wanted. She mentioned how she had lots of great reviews online and I went because of that but it was a mistake. When it came to pricing she said she would give 20% off and not charge me for the treatment she decided to do after the color wasnt what i wanted but charged me anyways. Wasn’t pleased with anything will never go here again.

Last Monday, August 17, I went to JCPenny Salon to get a haircut. Sima did my haircut and she did it wonderful!! I love my new haircut!!! my family and friends love it too! I feel like I look 10 years younger! I will definitely go back again to JCPenny Salon and let do Sima do my hair all over again! :)

I was very pleased with this location. I requested an appointment for a perm, and got in right away. My stylist, Jenny Smith, was extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful person. I explained to her what I was looking for, and she nailed it perfectly. I will definitely be going back to her in the future, and would definitely recommend.

Why here? Only option in the mall-usually go to privately owned salons, but I just moved from West coast & havent had time to find one where I live plus on a work trip. Walked in, was able to book an appointment within 20 min. w/Margarita, left looking fabulous. Ask for her, shes great!

It was a really good experience! The stylists are not racist at all and I have no clue one that one review wrote was talking about. I would say it’s a pretty diverse salon. Everyone here is happy and nice. My boyfriend is getting his hair done right now.

Raina is always attentive and very polite. I always get great reviews after she does my hair. After having an accident i found it hard to sit for a wash, but Raina fixed me in a chair that would work for me. I appreciate her taking time to work with me in that matter also.

I wanted to get my split ends cut. The hair dresser insisted on me telling her on how many inches I wanted to get cut. I really did not want to do this, but I said about two or three inches. She made one snip, and only one, and cut about 15 strands of hair and put it on the table in front of me. I thought it was an example of how much she was going to cut off on the rest of the hair, but that was it?!?!?!? Later I asked if she could take off more. That was solved with one more snip, and only one. With washing and drying it was a total rip off (31 dollars). It was uneven, and she did not take off the spilt ends, that I asked for. Good luck with choosing this place....

I went to JCP Christiana Mall salon for a hair color. Sima was my stylist and she did an amazing job. She made sure my chemically treated hair was taken care of while coloring. Loved the way she did a extra treatment to make sure the coloring doesn’t damage my hair more. It’s great to talk to her too. I definitely recommend her

Last month I was in Pennys at Prices Corner shopping and decided to get my hair trimed. A stylist named Zina Davidson greeted me when I walked in. Without going into a long story I was going through a very bad time in my life. I just want to say this women went beyond the call of duty .She was caring sympathetic and had very kind words to say. It was like we were ment to meet. She felt the same way. She gave me the best hair cut ever ! She made me feel good about myself. I highly recommend her. And I will always go back to her. My wife & I come here often to have our hair styled by Sima (master stylist) she is a wonderful person. Very knowledgeable & personable. We love how she knows what we need each time.

I was excited to try this salon but I had a horrible experience. I have natural hair and the stylist used too much heat on my hair to point she ruined my natural curl pattern. I shared with her prior to her doing my hair that I was natural and my hair straightens pretty easy because I have looser curls so the heat of the flat iron doesn’t need to be too high. When I called the stylist back to gain advice and guidance on what to do to my hair, she was not helpful at all and dismissive. She told me she wasn’t familiar with natural hair which she did not mentioned at all when I told her about my hair needs. I originally sent her a message on her personal social media page that she shared with me if I wanted future services, she never replied. I am greatly disappointed in the services provided by this salon and stylist. If you are not familiar with certain types of hair, as a stylist you should share that with the client. Just dishonest and unethical services. Try another salon. I believe the stylist name was Tasha or Tosha.

My experience with Sima was wonderful. She understood what exactly I needed and gave my the haircut I wanted. I was actually amazed at her attention to every word I said.I’m definitely coming back!

I had my hair colored. The staff was all very polite and helpful. I wanted a very bright red color and was afraid it wouldnt come out right. I was linked with Margarita. She is the color girl! She color my natural hair and weave hair to match. Came out perfect. Thanks JCP!

Ive been going to Sima since 2003 and every time I go she listens to what I would like to do with my hair whether its a cut or a color and lets me know if its right or wrong for me. She does an excellent job every time and I ALWAYS get compliments! I recommend her to everyone!

This place is unprofessional, rude, catty, and even racist. People glare at you as soon as you walk in if you look differently. Employees that dont like you WILL sabotage you or other employee for their pleasure . This is a rude and hostile environment and people will talk about you and roll their eyes in your face. The woman who did my hair pretty much embodies the word ratchet, gum-smacking, pursed lips, poorly multicolored hair, and a too short dress. I complimented her shoes and she glared at me and rolled her eyes and cut my hair in a way I did not ask for!! The manager would not refund my money and thought it was funny. I feel like I was targeted because of my skin color, DO NOT go here!

Sima is the BEST! I have been going to Sima for over 10 years now and have always had a great experience. She knows what will look the best and how to do it and I always get so many compliments. She is always willing to go above and beyond for everyone. I highly recommend Sima!

I went to the salon for the first time today because of a really bad color issue I was having 3 days before my daughters wedding. I was squeezed in with Maria. She knew how important this was and immediately made me feel like it was going to be ok. I am in love with her and the amazing job she did on my hair. It hasen’t looked this good in years. Absolutely 100% going back for my next color.

I took my 1.5 year old son here one day by chance. Kimi Chi did his hair. She was very patient with him screaming and crying the entire time, still took her time and didnt rush through it and did a great job! I will definitely take him back to see her.

Went there for a quick crew cut but it was very messy particularly my back where instead of a fade I was given bald spots. However its decent. DontD want to be rude to the hair cutter.

THIS SALON IS HORRIBLE !!!!! The manager (Connie) is the most unprofessional manager Ive ever met. The stylist are just as bad. They all talk about each other in front of you. I tolerated it for some time but after awhile I got unhappy. I wouldnt recommend anyone to go to this salon its nothing but drama and poor customer service!!!
