Normally I don’t write reviews. Although, I went to this Kia dealer a number of times and was not greeted once. Once I walked inside on October 18 around 6pm, (numerous staff looking down at their phones) I asked for help. The features of the car I was looking at were described to me at no point in any of my visits.The sales personnel at Martin Kia don’t even walk outside. Act like you want to sell a car.I ended up going down to Fulton Kia, the sales personnel provided a great breakdown & very friendly atmosphere. Ended up buying from them. Same vehicle.
I recently bought a 2022 Kia Carnival from this dealership and I was promised (on the bill of sale) that the dealership will provide me the all season floor mats with the purchase. Its been almost 2 months since I have been following up with them and the sales person neither picks up the call nor replies back to my texts or calls.I am having an extremely bad experience with this dealership. I had pre-ordered this vehicle and had a committed price (including markup) written on the bill of sale but at the time of pick-up they asked me price more than committed.I would not recommend anybody to make any purchases from this dealership.
The people was nice and I appreciate them telling me up front they would have a problem finding me a lending and they didnt run my credit first they was up front and honestly I appreciate that very much. But I did go to Burlington Kia in NJ and they was able to get me a van and lending with no problem the next day.
I call in service to make appointment. “Well, you don’t need and we don’t make appoints on weekdays “ they said to me. I pull up to the location later that day and they guy at the Service says. It’s 4 hours wait. Itd be faster with appointment we service your vehicle right away you’ll be in and out with the appointment.What’s the a joke man.
Shopped for and bought a new Kia K5 last week. Stephanie was our sales rep. She was very helpful and patient with us as we narrowed down our decision on what make and model to get. Once we bought the car she helped give us an orientation on all the features of the car and set up the phone app for remote start, locking etc.Really like the new car! This is the second car we bought from Martin. Weve always been happy with the servicing as well. Phil the general sales manager was also great. Most of the folks working there have been working together at the dealership for many years and it speaks to the good culture theyve built there. Kudos to Martin Kia.
Service department is lacking leadership.Surprised to fine out that service manager had no clue that why we were upset . Blamed it on the other guy.When your in charge you are the leader you dont though your team understand the bus.Need leadership classes. And need to stop staying I didnt know. It your job to know.
I normally dont write review unless its something way above my expectation. Caitlin Osborne created an outstanding experience from the moment I went in until I walked out with a brand new car. She answered all my questions, even when she had day off. if you are in market for buying new or used car, I would highly recommend everyone to go see Caitlin. Will buy my second vehicle from Caitlin next year.
This review is in regards to the service Dept of Martin Kia. We bought a 2022 Kia Carnival from Kia of West Chest in June we wanted to buy from Martin Kia because we live in the area but they had no Carnivals when we were shopping. We were told by West Chester that we can get any service work done in Newark which is very convenient for us but that wasn’t the case right away because we called and couldn’t have service done for many weeks after calling. It was ok we were patient and waited until our service appt. We took our car to be serviced for the problem and they couldn’t fix the issue in one day so we were told to schedule to bring it back because they would need it for three days. We were not happy with this but we will do whatever necessary to get the car fixed. We dropped the car off Sunday night so that the issue could be fixed Kia was willing to pay for a rental for three days while they worked on it (mind you not a comparable vehicle for a mother of three) they had the car Monday Tuesday and Wednesday my husband picked up the car Wednesday and was told all was well as soon as he left the same issue occurred the car is not fixed! The papers they gave us clearly state the car was driven 12 miles and my Kia app says the car was driven 5 miles. In addition my Kia app says the car was not moved/driven on the first day of service so it sat in the parking lot for a whole day untouched. Clearly all they were concerned about was not paying for the tiny rental car for more then three days and here we are back at square one. This is quite frustrating as this is a brand new car! If the issue was not fixed they should have continued to work on the vehicle instead of returning it under false pretenses. We contacted the service guy as soon as we drove it off the lot and the same issue occurred but he has yet to respond that is why I am leaving this glowing review in hopes that someone can help us because this is annoying to say the least.
Bought an extended warranty when I got my 2015 Kia Rio. Supposed to cover EVERYTHING except routine maintenance, door handles, and normal wear and tear for 10 years or 100,000 miles. The latch for my hatchback fell apart (the latch, mind you, not the handle) so I took it to Martin dealership thinking they would honor the warranty they sold me. No such luck; I was told that this latch was a door handle and sent on my way. Buyer beware, dont make the same mistake. Looking to buy a new car soon, but not from Martin!
So my review is based off the service Dept .. took our new 22 Kia carnival in for warranty work, took a month to schedule a appt, they get the car have it all day and then tell us will be 3-4 days in shop .. ok .. but no loaner car! Was told because I didn’t buy the car at Martin, just a FYI I Would of bought it from Martin if they had the car When looking but they didn’t and was told it’s a hard vehicle to get .. so had to go out of state and buy it . Regardless it’s there for Kia warranty work, brand new vehicle and I don’t get a loaner while it’s in for repair . Needless to say I picked up the car and we still have a front crash radar light still on saying the system is inactive .
Someone obviously SCRUBS the online reviews, I can’t be the only one getting this terrible service!Customer Service in the Service Dept is Laughable, Horrible, Unreal in the highly competitive automobile industry….This will be a MAJOR focal point when it’s time for me to purchase another vehicle…Do yourself a favor and TRAIN your people how to talk to, interact with, be honest with and do the best you can to meet the customers needs…It’s not “Rocket Science”!!!
Cant say enough good about this place! Vernon was amazing and got me the exact car I wanted at the exact price I wanted! Very professional as well! Definitely will be recommending to everyone I know!
My past experiences have been good but today when I really needed help, they dropped the ball. My engine light is on and the car vibrates. I have to go to work and I showed up only for them to say come back at the end of September. They didnt even look at it to make a recommendation. Shame on you. Martin Kia of Delaware
I bought a 2017 Jeep Renegade today!!! It is a very low miles, CARFAX certified 1 owner vehicle! They PAID OFF MY TRADE!!! THEY WERE FANTASTIC!!! They were very courteous and the whole process was SEAMLESS! This is for REAL!!! This is the first car Ive purchased from them, but it definitely wont be the last! I am a TRULY happy customer!

The manager (Shannon) and sales staff we met seem uninterested in selling cars. They were rude and unhelpful. Drive further to another dealership if youd like real service.

Definitely would recommend Martin Kia. Especially Caitlyn. Caitlyn went above an beyond to get me into the 2021 stinger. From the time I walked in until I left, Caitlyn was awesome every step of the way. We had some hiccups with the car and each time I called Caitlyn, she was there to get the issue resolved and get me in a rental so I could get back an forth to work!! Hats off to the finance team as well as Caitlyn for continuing to provide great customer service. I will be back to get the new stinger or the EV6 when it’s available!!

It’s a looong story! Too much to write in this box. But my car has been at the service department dismantled approaching a month waiting for a new engine. No loaners are available and I am renting a car at $53 a day with no end in sight.

On way from NY when 2015 Sorrento suddenly died while driving - power just shut off. Stranded in DE with 3 kids. This was the closest dealership. Told me they were too booked to look at it and to go somewhere else. Basically too bad so sad. I hope someone is much kinder to them in their time of need. Called Kia of Wilmington and spoke to Al. Told me that he had been in my situation before and completely understood. He offered to look at my car right away. THATS how you do it Martin - learn from Al. Everyone - go to Wilmington Kia. Its not that much further down the road and they wont forget about you after you bought the car.
Caitlin was awesome -- I never felt pressured or cornered like at other dealerships. She was very informative and professional without being pushy. She even called me after I purchased my vehicle to see if all was going well with my new car!! Very unusual and unexpected -- thats what I call full service - she went above and beyond. Although they are a nice dealership, they are not always forthcoming and honest. They sold us an SUV on the weekend and we drove a long way to get there because they promised to provide a tow hitch with the purchase. They said they could not give us the hitch that day because the people who have the equipment were not in that day. The hitch was included in the contract as something they owed us. I called for months after the purchase and they have never provided the hitch (it has been over a year, so my hopes are not high). I would give more stars, but cannot do it because they did not honor the contract or agreement. Otherwise the staff was friendly and professional. I wish they had followed through so I could give them a better review. We do like the vehicle.
James is awesome, thats the only good aspect of Martin these days. Offered half of what Porter offered for my trade in and then wouldnt even match it. I bought the trade in from Martin a year ago. Hopefully James goes to a better dealership so I can buy a car off him elsewhere.
First time getting my car serviced there. Excellent customer service. They have Wawa coffee and Philly pretzels in the waiting area. Technician explained what was needed and did not pressure me. He also walked me to my car when the work was completed. 👍🏾

Stephanie is THE BEST! While I usually frequent Martin Kia for 2018 Sorento, I was concerned about a warning light on my daughters 2010 Forte that remained illuminated even after I replaced the part. Since my daughter was going to be traveling, Stephanie was able to quickly verify that there were no current error codes and quickly cleared the old stored codes. Took all of five minutes. Stephanie, my daughter thanks you, and I, a concerned father, especially thank you for your genuine concern and awesome customer service!!! This is exactly why our family has three Kias!! 😁

Not a pleasant experience. Called service department because my car was making a squeaking noise and they couldn’t get me in for a month (I called 3 dealerships and was told this) My husband calls and they told him they would look @ it the following week (um ok). Was charged $300(oil changed too) to fix the problem and the car is STILL MAKING THE NOISE. Read the report I was given and it states they could not duplicate the noise!! They made me feel like I was crazy!

Bought 2013 and also another 2017 Sorento from here serviced solely by Martin my 2013 Sorento was serviced here 7/17/19 and made a return trip on 7/20/19 on a roll back for an apperent blown head gasket 7/22/19 Frank H. From service informed me that they had to drain oil that was overfilled and they detected leakage on back bank of my v6 asked to pull head and get local Kia rep to inspect being I have 117000 miles for assistance made multiple calls and emails looking for a timeline of diagnoses finally 8/8/19 confirmed head casket leaking on #3 cylinder and Kia would not be willing to help needless to say it had been towed out and being fixed elsewhere as will the service on my 2017 great dealing with till you have a real problem very disappointed
The person i spoke to from parts just wanted to run his mouth. Didnt know the lug pattern on my vehicle and didnt have any interest on looking it up either.

Called to get an extra key for my Kia Sorento. Part department has the key in stock but needed to schedule an appointment with service to get it programmed. Told me they couldn’t get me an appointment to program the key until the end of September or beginning of October. Pretty ridiculous for just a programming of a new key
Took my 2018 Kia Sportage to them because it was dying randomly, they replaced the battery . Car still broke took to Jones Kia as well guess what car still broke . Never buying a Kia again
