We now live on Hudson near Spring St. We used to live about 7 blocks north. And we initially assumed that wine stores north of Canal St. were closer . But Hudson Wine & Spirits is, we finally figured out, a closer walk than any wine store around. Its a four minute walk tops, two short blocks past Canal. But even if it were 10, they earn your loyalty.From stem to stern, Hudson Wine is a top-shelf store. Without an ounce of pretension, no attitude about any questions, ever,. And, believe me, Ive asked a few doozys.There is always an honest answer. Never that feeling that something more expensive is being pushed solely for that reason. The owner IS the store. His sense and sensibility is why you trust it (and his staff/crack delivery duo).Over the last two years, weve got at least 20 new wines that weve grown to love, most of them under 20.00.The owner is a true gentleman. This is the best wine store! Great collection of USA, French, Italian, Australian and South African wine at great prices. Very good customer service - has a great CRM system, always knows what your last order was, so you can get it again. Offers speedy delivery. Has great spirits, champagne and even glasses.A true local store with an owner who really looks after his customers, and he really knows his wine!
