I’ve been going to Global Leather since I was a student. They have very good price. But their service is TERRIBLE. I asked for some lambskin on the high shelf. This salesman, Leo, threw the leather down to the table then walk away, not even took off the rubber band and helped me to select the skin. And then he gave a the attitude when i asked if the price are the same since the last time I bought those leather. I am very disappointed.

Very nice experience. Better than I knew to ask about. I had a belt made for a buckle I already had and liked. Excellent quality for a fair price.

I drove 2 hours from Connecticut and it was worth it.Ive been searching for the right leather to use for the spine/binding of my wood covered photography portfolio. I had a very difficult time finding the right leather online so I decided to search the garment district of NYC. I made the drive down and boy was I satisfied. Going to NYC is always risky, you never know if the store you plan to shop in will be full of customers where the service is sub-par. The folks in Global Leathers took good enough care of me that I walked away with 6 genuine leather options for my project and I was excited enough to leave this review on my subway ride back home.

The best leather place Ive found. I went to find leather to make pockets for a costume codpiece and Anna helped me out. I found some pieces in scraps which are hardly scraps but big leftover chunks of great skins of all sorts.Its nicely hidden away and never too crowded.UPDATE: I had the pleasure of visiting the new global leathers storefront today (for the second time) and it was as fantastic as ever. I had plans for some leather accessories and I found a marvelous cow hide that will suit me perfectly. Thanks so much

Jordan was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and went above and beyond the call to help me find what I was looking for. I didnt know where to start on my search for jacket leathers and suedes, and probably looked a bit lost; he took the initiative to ask if I needed help, showed me about a dozen options that were all close to what I was looking for, cut swatches, and labeled them for me. He talked me through the differences in pricing, qualities, finishes, and gave me a lot of great information. In half an hour, he set me up with a slew of great options and a lot of new knowledge; without his help I might have wandered around for hours. Ive rarely had such an efficient visit to any textile shop in the garment district, and will definitely go back when its time to buy. Highly recommended!

Great selection and really competitive pricing. I always get help when I ask. Be nice and you will in turn be treated well. They have an excellent remnant bin and a corner unit with miscellaneous leathers that they will cut you a good deal on.

Been coming to Global Leathers for 5 years since moving to NYC. Nothing but amazing service and friendly faces. I have been working with them even after relocation of the shop, and not once has there been a miscommunication with there hours or location.The leather standards and knowledge of the staff always is outstanding. I have called and described a hide i bought in the past before heading over, and if they could not find exactly what I had, they were able to show me similar hides that would work with the design. They have taught me so much about leather and its just so welcoming.Today, I went in and its felt like visiting family. We were all joking around together, laughing and having fun. It felt so much like home.

This place is almost to good. I fly in from MN to stock up on materials in the garment district and this place will always be on my list.

I went in and asked for the type of leather I wanted, the woman directed me to the other man and he just show me the wall full of cowhide and did nothing to help me. They have a bunch of people there and no one helped me at all. Unless you know what you want, do not come here.

Rude. Looking at the selection of pig suede, there are two narrow hallways. One employee keeps moving things in and out of the store with a large box on wheels. He urges me to move and shaking his head and rolling his eyes at me and making gruff comments like come on! extremely rude and it was frustrating for me because there was no other way to look at the suedes!

Fantastic selection and Yourself was incredibly helpful. I will be seeking him out when I go back and I will definitely go back.
