Cafe au lait ($3) is tall, dense and sweet. The toppings do fall off and can get messy. Good coffee and sweet flavor. I couldnt just take one bite, or two, or three. Before I knew it the doughnut was gone.Mocha almond crunch ($3) was recommended by the staff as one of the most popular. I went with it and after the first bite I felt underwhelmed. Its just a $3 chocolate covered doughnut with crushed almonds. Not impressed to say the least.
I went here with a group of people. We sampled the dulce de leche and passion fruit donuts. They were nice and big, perfect for sharing. The flavors had a level of detail. Everyone loved the passion fruit. Several people bought additional donuts to eat later. There is a nice family style table as well as bar seating at the window. There was a wonderful selection of holiday donuts as well including egg nog and Nutella stuffed. There is water here. The doughnut texture was almost cakey.
The Dough shop is located in City Kitchen. It is a stall right up the stairs. Theyre doughnuts are too legit to quit. Very delicious flavors. I did feel the price of their donuts are on $$$ side. For 6 doughnuts and a iced latte cost me $29. 07/02/19Very good quality doughnuts. Delicious flavors. Cost per doughnut is $4.50, I wish they had some combo deal if you bought more. They do have boxes for 12 or 6 doughnuts but still at $4.50 a piece. 02/20/2020
The cinnamon roll one and the old fashioned... marry me please. Also, The owner works the store every single day, can’t ask more than that.
Great place to shop at. If you have trouble finding it it is inside a hotel on the second floor. But the songs are so good and there is a beautiful view, and its a cozy place in the winter.
Not sure why this place has such positive reviews. It’s between $3.25 and $3.75 for a donut. I put $4.00 into this cheesecake donut after rounding up, only to be disappointed by the most dry and underwhelming donut i’ve had in new york. Look at the texture: it’s like a dinner bread roll with frosting. Truly a disgrace to donuts.I’m normally not one to dote on bad service either, but for such a tiny “shop,” the cashier didn’t look at or speak a single word to me for the entire 30 second transaction.Go across the street to shake shack if you’re craving a sweet. Anything but this.
Fairly good doughnuts, I expected them to be better considering the price, a bit too dry. Maybe they’re better if you show up earlier during the day, we were there at around 6pm.A big minus for the difficulty in finding this place, we must have walked up and down the street in pouring rain 10 times before figuring out its upstairs as part of a larger food court area.If it wasn’t for the great view and the atmosphere it would’ve gotten 2 stars.
My family and I went here on a whim after trying to find a doughnut shop and Im so glad we did.Although it is a little hard to find, just take the door on 8th that says City Kitchen and youll be transported to a chic little market area with 6 different little restaurants.Dough truly lives up to their name because their cake doughnuts are mountains to behold. We tried a few of the classics: cinnamon sugar, glazed, and chocolate covered. None were disappointing and for about $3 a pop, you could get a few, not that you need more than one.Filling, flavorful, and fast. Three great adjectives to describe this place.
One of the best spots of its kind in the area. If it wasnt far from my work I would come by more.
I’m here for the doughnuts all the time but their tacos and burgers are really good too. It stands over a busy street and you get to enjoy people watching.
Literally the best donuts on earth. i know their entire selection by memory. the passion fruit donate definitely changed my life. staff is super friendly and are always very welcoming. i always gift them for birthdays, bring them to events, and share with my friends and family. i have not met one person who doesn’t like a donut i offer them from Dough.
The donuts were so delicious and were very large. One donut can easily feed two people. The location was minutes walk from Times Square. Would recommend to go in the morning as you have a better selection and the donuts are fresher. Awesome find in NYC
Food was so yummy. the place has a cool atmosphere.
You are going to stand in the hot sun and wait- but IT’S WORTH IT!Lines are always out the door but there is good reason!
Had the passion fruit donut. Only took one bite and threw the rest away. Might have been better when first made but was very heavy and tasted stale when I purchased it after dinner.
I loved this donuts. A friend of mine said to me you must try them and I did. The best, amezing flavours and the place is really cool because you can buy other type of food and then get these delicious donuts.
We are serious about our donuts. High quality flavor. A little doughy. Huge. Worth a stop for something different but not a classic donut.
At 1:45pm, I walked over to the counter to a Closed sign. There is still someone there, so I ask him what the deal is. He says Yes, at 2:00 we close. I look at my watch to see that it is not yet 2:00. He says okay, do you want something? but immediately follows it up with actually, you cant, because... and indicates that the register system is already shut down. I walk away and sit down, just to watch him dump hundreds of donuts into the garbage. I am beyond frustrated with this whole experience.
Have been here twice. Lots of interesting flavors and different toppings, but honestly the donut itself, the most important part in my opinion, is nothing special at all. I prefer doughnuttery.
Honestly delicious. I go there every chance I get. Wait time varies wildly between no line and insane line, but its always worth it. Best donut hands down is the passion fruit, but others are A+, too. One donut is hefty, though, so if youre getting a half dozen to try (recommended), make sure you have a friend or three around to help finish them off before they go stale.
Best doughnuts in NY! My favorite is passionFruit with cocoa nibs. My least favorite peanut butter. Very big and soft. Love them.
We loved the hibiscus, passion fruit, toasted coconut and Nutella doughnuts. The flavors were bright and delicious and not too sweet. The dough was perfectly fried.
One of my favorite donut places in the city. They always have plenty of fresh options and no wait time!
Visited for donuts two weeks ago. My wife and I both purchased a donut and both were very disappointed! Both were dougy and had a different taste to the donut. Don’t need to visit again.
I would suggest going to one of their stand-alone locations. The staff is a hit or miss each time I come up here just with communication. Theyre always super nice and helpful but sometimes I constantly have to repeat myself because I talked too fast or have to ask them to repeat what they said due to mumbling. The selection is also much smaller than the stand alone locations. But its still a great place to get giant and delicious donuts.
Doughy goodness. Long lines at times but Id gladly wait. 1 is enough, 2 is delicious Gluttony.
Visited today midafternoon and pleased to see short line and ample bench seating. Americano coffee and a donut are a great combo. Good variety of good sized treats. Great panoramic view of 8th ave is another plus. Other City Kitchen food hall options available.
All i wanted was a plain donut. But they had all the fancy donuts but a simple plain donut.
This particular location, for us, was not easy to find. It is located inside Row, up in their food court area. It is like a little satellite location that brings in the donuts. We ordered the glazed, hibiscus and gingerbread. First off, they LOOK amazing and are pretty darn big. Based on the reviews, I was stoked about trying these. What I would say is they are good, but I did not find them GREAT.
Delicious. I got the coconut. It was super fine. Located in a food court upstairs from the street. Nice little place.
Once a month I pick up doughnuts here. The passion fruit and hibiscus flavors remind me of my tropical home. The flavors are spot on and are not too sweet. Doughnuts are large. Service is quick. Just go!
I heard this was suppose to be one of the best donuts in New York. Possibly because it was an hour from closing time but the donuts did not taste fresh. I tried the Nutella and the Chocolate Nib ones. The Nutella was covered with grease on the bottom and although there was enough filling it was not pure Nutella it was mixed with some sort of oil which wasnt that great. The chocolate one was a bit dry and just nothing special. $4.50 per doughnut *face palm* Disappointed.
THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED RIGHT NOW. The main market City Kitchen by times square was shuttered during covid and this place is NOT OPEN. The only Dough Doughnuts currently open is in the Flatiron district.
This review is for their coffee and tea. It was delicious. And the barista was very friendly. Great experience.
We visited dough during a new years trip to New York last year. It was on my list for awhile and it was absolutely incredible!
I had the Dulce de Leche donut with toasted almonds. It was one of the best donuts Ive ever had !!Cant wait to go back to try another of their offerings.
I had the chocolate nib and one with a slivered almond topping. The issue was not the topping/glaze, but rather the dough itself..... their large size did not even come close to compensating for their taste/quality. I really like donuts and have tried many, many donuts in the US and Canada. Other than their size, these were the second most overrated donuts I have (partially) consumed. The donuts smelled of fried oil and were hard for a donut dough (fry cakes excluded). Hence, my hands were greasy after just one bite. I must say that those who praised these donuts have not consumed truly good donuts, or are paid reviewers/friends of the establishment owners. I am truly, truly disappointed with the quality of the donuts that I tried today.
Donuts are great, but a bit expensive. The donuts have fun frosting on top but not always in the donut
The dough was like eating a hot dog bun. Heavy and dense instead of light and airy.
Awesome doughnuts!!! I have been to the original location in Brooklyn fresh baked daily. Only downfall is they’re aren’t many choices, but still highly recommend. Get the almond donut it is to die for.
Doughnuts were delicious and super fresh, but the horrible customer service and awful cup of coffee did not make this a enjoyable stop
So yummy ! Very friendly, and I hear ya need to get there early before their gone. Place looks nice and clean too !
My wife begs me to bring home the toasted coconut donuts every time I am in NY. Issue is I am in NY all the time... that is a lot of donuts.
Biggest donut I have ever had. Super tasty 😋
Of all the doughnuts I have eaten, these are among the best. They are a little on the pricey side of $3.50 per, but they are very filling. They have a variety of flavors and it all looked amazing.
Interesting and appealing flavors, but the donuts did not live up to review. Less than average, I wasnt impressed. The dough is too dense, dry and tasteless. Ive had better at neighborhood donut shop.
Three bucks for an ok donut is steep. Slightly above average, but the space its in its nice. Other options for those in your party less enthused over donuts.
Awesome donuts inside City Kitchen. Big, filling, and interesting flavors.
A bit hard to find. Very different take on a donut. What separates Dough from the rest is the flavors you will not get any flavors that they have anywhere else. Example Passion fruit donut.
Tasty and large donuts with a variety of interesting flavors. They are large so they fill you up.
One of the best Doughnut shops around town. Was hard to locate, it is upstairs via the City Kitchen entrance by the Row City hotel. Price is 3$ per donut but it is worth it. Try it if youre close by.
Good variety of treats. They are big enough to share. My cafe au lait was tasty and crumbly, but the cake was a bit doughy. My eating partner thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry filled doughnut. The coffee was strong and with good flavor, too.
The doughnuts are very delicious and filling. The price is okay and you have a nice view over 8th / 44W.Try the doughnut with chocolate nibs 😉
Great place, if you want an artisanal donut.
Amazing donuts - my favorite in Brooklyn! Great place!
Very interesting flavors but dough is very chewy! And donuts too large for my taste.
Nothing special at all, very generic uninspired flavors. The texture of the dough left much to be desired, and there was no richness at all. Very disappointed. The doughnuts are quite large, but after the first bite there is no reason for a second.
Really yummy doughnuts! A little more on the dense side but still really delicious!
Doughnuts were large and attractive but dense for yeast doughnuts and extremely greasy. I couldnt eat more than a bite of each one of the 3 I bought because all I could taste was oil. Wish I had more time to go to Doughnut Plant instead.
Been dying to try these doughnuts since i saw a short doc. a few years ago on them. Theyre absolutely delicious! Huge doughnuts with a great selection of flavors. The cheesecake is a new favorite!
Not one to favour baked doughnuts (I like the flash fried cinnamon kind with a light sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on one side) I was not anticipating how much I would enjoy the lemon poppyseed glazed doughnut. Light in weight, but larger than normal size, and such a lovely zing in the glaze. Also, the morning barista makes a pretty good flat white, if you dont mind forgoing the latté art. Aussies in the area, youll probably find this coffee more satisfying than 99% in the Times Square area. Friendly staff too.
Donuts are ok but nothing really special. In addition, it is pretty expensive for what you get
Doughnut was a teensy bit on the dry side. We had a standard glazed and the mocha almond crunch. Didn’t wow us. Customer service was very good!
Great Donuts but telling me Boston cream donuts arent ready in the morning cause they take to long to make and will be ready in the afternoon. Not cool
3.50 for a big as heck doughnut is awesome !! Tastes like heaven.
Large tasty donuts in an interesting 2nd floor food court.
Staff wasn’t helpful in making a selection and the doughnuts were fairly dry and boring. Wouldn’t come back. Try another place before coming here
These are some of the best donuts I have ever had. Making a trip to New York may be worth it for the donuts! Ok, slight exageration, but honestly these donuta are not only tasy, they are a good size too. That plus the variety of flavors has made this my favorite donut shop.
Awesome donuts but was a little difficult to find.
Good place to get tasty donuts inside a nice new food court. A bunch of flavors, and the dunuts themselves are quite large and filling!
Love these doughnuts. So much variety, so big, and so very very tasty. There are a few different locations around Manhattan, and the doughnuts and coffee are worth a pit stop. I recommend the hibiscus doughnut and the lemon poppyseed doughnut, if anybody is having a hard time deciding!
Best donuts in New York!I love everything about these damn thick (peach emoji) donuts.
Lots of good / fancy flavors, but overpriced. They’re big but still too much.
Good interesting and filling donuts in a nice food court!
Buddy these were good. Found this location inside of NYC Row and loved it!
Super unsatisfied. Slightly better than a grocery store donut. Would not recommend.
Not impressed. Could have saved myself $13 if I went to a chain and would have enjoyed it better. Let down 😔....
The dough is good but the doughnut more pastry like
When I ate this doughnuts, I was impressed with their unique variety of flavor, freshness and chewy texture.
