The weekend before Halloween and I thought this place would be packed but it was decent and plenty of staff to help find specific costumes. They actually sell squid game soldier masks at the register so this made the trip there that much better. The staff being helpful made things run smooth.

One of the best Halloween Costume Stores I’ve ever been. The staff is super friendly and you can find any theme from horror, superheroes, gladiators, star wars, pirates, gangsters, among other specific things. Prices for costumes are around $30-$120. You can also find wigs, beards, masks, makeup, and prosthetics. Hope this helps!

Google maps said it was open, called and their hours said they were open, got here and they’re closed for renovations. A heads up on either/or/both would have been nice.

This place is more than just a shop, it is an experience. Fantastic shop with an incredible selection, and a wide variety of options. Very friendly staff. Easy access by public transportation.

This is an amazing store and that is a fact. What truly upset me is that nowhere on google nor their site does it say they are closed till fall 2021. Drive 2.5 hours specifically to come here only to find out it is temporarily closed till further the fall. Wasted 5 hours round trip when a simple update could have saved a lot of time and gas (which is not cheap nowadays).Will def come back, but it was really upsetting.

Halloween Adventure is a NYC staple that has supplied costumes and related gear for several decades. Plus, with its block-width building, its an incredibly cool shortcut between Broadway and 4th Ave (before Rona).

OMG they literally have EVERYTHING. Its a one stop shop where you can get your Halloween done for good. Wigs, costumes, props, contact lenses, makeups, socks, headband, ribbons, horns, masks, you name it. I think the price is a bit high tho. But man you must see how crazy big this place is, I got lost in here.

An enormous costume shop (a block wide and two stories tall!) with an incredible selection and helpful staff. Good both if youre looking for a specific item or just looking for inspiration.

They had so many options and we even found a disco ball and a fog machine! It made Quarantine Halloween so fun!

At the last minute I learn my son has crazy hat day in school. A coworker recommended this store and Im so glad. I found exactly what I was looking for. The customer service was great. They showed me their collection of hats/costumes that would work for the event and left me to do my shopping. Exactly what I love about in person shopping. Prices are very reasonable. This is my spot for all my costume needs!

Pricey, but lots of fun stuff & a number of items are currently on sale in the basement.

Another place that wont answer the phone, so I dont know if my trip will be a waste of time as the item Im looking for is usually low stock quick sellout, esp during Halloween. Called 3x rang through 2x got sent to vm 1x. At least answer and put some1 on hold. Dont have a public phone number if you only answer for ur boss.

This place has a costume for every idea. I chose an Egyptian woman and it came with a headdress wrist and arm cuffs and separately up for a serpent entwined around a pole I am going to look so hot. And the price wasnt bad either

Selection was fine. Not able to try on in store to confirm size fit properly. Was told I could return for swap or store credit if costume did not fit but upon coming back was told that is not their policy.

They did not happen to have the obscure, apparently long-discontinued item I wanted but I cannot imagine anyone entering this gargantuan costume emporium with twists, turns and niches not finding what they ate looking for. Absolutely mind-numbing the selection, quality and workmanship. If you are planning to buy a Halloween costume, I am confident you will find what you are looking for here (only down the block and around the corner from the Strand Book Store).

This store is like a halloween adventure on it’s own. There’s a huge variety of costumes, masks, accessories, etc. It’s so much fun to walk through the aisles. They even have an entire section dedicated to makeup.

Fin place, lots of great people working there. Many different costumes. Found a great witchs outfit thanks to the award guy that helped a sister out!

Nice Customer Service. I would shop there again.

The place to go anytime you need a costume for anything. They are open all year and loaded to the brim with all sorts of costume paraphernalia. Organized in a nice, eye catching way. You can see everything without being too overwhelmed. Definitely a place to bring the kids to check out.

One star is too high after what i experienced. had the most appalling experience at this store. came in to purchase a wig. didn’t think to open it in the store as i assumed everything is as pictured and brand new. came home & realized the wig is damaged/cut up. came to the store politely the following day with a receipt and the wig in its full packaging (clearly i never even tried it on after seeing the damage). not only did they not take the return or even offer store credit, the “manager” personality walked over to me to tell me “too bad.” i stated that i will have to call my credit card company since he refused to accept back faulty merchandise they sold me. he then followed by stating “drop dead.” disgustingly run store. i live nearby and will avoid it at all costs going forward.

This store was clutch when it came to finding the costume I needed in a short time frame. The employees there are super helpful & knowledgeable as well. If you need a costume after Halloween to wear, this is a place to go. They have all sorts of costumes from Vampires to Zombies to Nurses or Ninjas. I highly recommend this store 100%

Came here for the “latex monkey mask” right before Halloween. It was the icing on the cake for my costume. Like a fool I showed up here 24 hours before Halloween, and the store was a mad house, with a long line for 2 registers. Yeah-the store took measures to increase staff, but if they were smart should have opened up more registers, or modernized ways of paying. However, this place has everything you would ever need and is a 365/day operation.

What kind of Halloween store doesnt have licensing to sell you contacts over the counter? I have to have an eye Dr. to buy contacts? Ive never had an eye care professional my whole life I have 20/20. Better of going to Abra Cadabra on 21st. Theyre a real Halloween store.

A city block wide of every costume imaginable. There sales staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. If youre looking for a costume and dont want to go to more than one store then this is the store for you. This isnt a boutique kind of place with 1 thing on display. EVERYTHING is on display. They also rent costumes and sell magic paraphanalia.

Excellent selection. The prices were more than reasonable and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I was very impressed and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Almost too good! I went in with a friend today and luckily its April because it was busy enough as it was. Every costume item you can think of from cheap and tacky to beautifully crafted unique pieces. They have a great makeup/hair/wig section and the friendly and bubbly employees really know their stuff and are more than happy to share their wealth of knowledge. I cant wait to go back

Yall I-so im in here. walking around, and everything starts to slow down. I look at my friend, she g o n e. The atmosphere is DISTURBING and our energy was completely drained when we left, on god. Something in the air was not right in that store, also, the workers are mad weird.

This is the ideal Halloween store. The costumes are expensive, but of really high quality. Almost anything you can think of they will have! If you are looking for a simple cheap costume, try the masks section. They have so many!!!

I ordered cosmetic contact lenses from here. You have to order them online but they came within 1 business day. Very fast and efficient process. I definitely will be using them again. The store itself is gigantic and has a crazy selection.

While their selection is vast and amazing their pricing is odd at times something can be found 15$ cheaper online and other times it feels like a real bargain but its never in between its always one or the other. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful but I felt a little pushy in terms of asking to help, every couple of feet someone asked me if I needed anything which some may like but I felt was intrusive.

Was attempting to look at Santa wig when this angry young male assistant barked at me to not touch. I tried to explain I was just trying to assess the difference between the two. As someone whos work revolves around costumes, this WAS a regular stop for me. Until I was sold a costume which simply did not match the photo on the cover at all. The management agreed it was not the right costume, but still after having spend thousands of dollars at this store. And even having shown receipts for my bulk and frequent purchases. They did not want to offer a refund for this product. I understand costumes store no return policies, as every party customers would return after their one time use. However not giving a refund for a product that by everyones agreement did not match the photo (at all), to a frequent customer, is just unprofessional and disrespectful. I will Never be shopping at Halloween Adventure/ New York Costumes again. and advise that other near by costume stores have a much more friendly and reasonable approach to how they run their business.

Came during Halloween time it is packed but has most things one would need so it is understandable. My only gripe is a layout that doesn’t not try to remedy the crowds.

When I think of Halloween and goth culture I think of Halloween Adventure. This shop is always fun no matter what. If you have some time to kill in the east village definitely stop by to check out the costumes and decor. Lots of props, makeup, silly stuff. Start early to scheme on what your costume is going to be.

This place is open all year round, for anytime you want to get yourself a costume for a special occasion. The store is huge, and has a wide range of costumes and costume accessories. The staff is friendly and will answer any and every question you may have, Some items are marked relatively inexpensive, while others you would be better off buying at the 99 cent store. Great store to duck into if youre bored and on 4th avenue.

I came here in the middle of September looking for a Comic Con outfit. The staff was super helpful there. They have a no try-on policy which super sucks, since they also have a no return or exchange policy. Im not sure if thats just seasonal cause its so close to Halloween or if it is like that year-round. Since I couldnt try the costumes on, a staff member helped me open the packages and let me hold items up or try items on over my clothes to kind of get an idea if it would fit. I ended up leaving with something that fit perfectly. They have a huuuuuuge selection though, so props to them for that.
