Was looking at a jacket and one of the staff just took the jacket from me because another customer wanted it or something? Not sure what that was, extremely bizarre.

I recently traveled back from Thailand and visited this store for the first time in New York City. There were a few patterns that reminded me of some of the ones I didn’t get a chance to acquire while overseas. The store design and visual layout was really nice, unfortunately I couldn’t stay more than 10mins in there. My friend and I entered the store and were greeted by a young lady. We walked through to where the coats were (that’s what I was interested in). The salesperson continued to follow us wherever we went. Two other ladies (Caucasian) walked into the store without being followed their whole stay in the store. I would take a few steps and the salesperson would find something next to me to fold and re-fold. I am a young, African-American professional in New York, so I have experienced this my whole life. It still doesn’t make it right. I wanted to purchase one of the heavier wool coats with beautiful tailoring, but it just got too obvious when the saleswoman went over and spoke to her coworker that walked in and he came over to us and asked us what we wanted. I work in customer service for a trillion dollar company. It is very important to check in with the customers. But this was more than checking in. If I hadn’t seen that other customers were not followed, then I would say they just need to improve the way they engage customers, but I saw how deliberate it was. We were so uncomfortable we ended up leaving without purchasing anything. I question why these workers feel the need to consciously or subconsciously follow people that look like me. It’s very sad because I think the product is well-made. I will not be going back to this store. I shared this review not to bash the company but to shed light on this issue, and share my experience as others have shared theirs.

Awesome brand, one thing to improve: if you want me to continue shopping offline, please make sure the staff knows where things are. Some do, but some are not helpful, i.e. we dont have that - well, offer something else, something similar, if youre a sales person, youre suppose to sell.

Staff is nice, and clothes cater to my taste. I you like a classy look and good quality clothes (although somewhat expensive), check Scoth & Soda out.

Not bad clothes just sub-standard service. I hadnt shopped at Scotch and Soda before and asked the manager to select me an outfit for a smart casual dinner. She got me 2 items and while I was in the change room moved onto the next customer and I didnt see her again. I ended up walking around the store and bought a few items but was disappointed that I got dropped like a hot potato - and no the store wasnt busy only 1 other customer came in and there were 2 staff on. Not the end of the world of course but they could do much better. Clothes seem to be reasonable value
