Find a different shop. They will do a sloppy job here. Lazy workers refused to vacuum the glass out of my floorboard and seats after I already paid for disposal. When they gave my car back I pointed out there was still glass shards everywhere their guy just claimed he had already vacuumed and told me if I cared that much I should vacuum it myself. Incredible.

Booked an appointment 9 days in advance. Called 5 days later to make sure we are all set. Then 2 days before appointment, I received a note from my insurance campany (GEICO) saying that the appointment was called. I had to call the insurance company to find out that they were notified that the place was missing a part. The only answer I got was theyll call you when they have the part available with no further information. Tried to call them directly and they still couldnt give me an time estimate. What kind of service is that? Why couldnt they have called me earlier and directly to inform me that there was a problem so that I can me other arrangements? I need the car to be fixed asap. Instead, they made me waste a full week before informing me indirectly that they cant do it. And they expect me to sit and wait until theyre ready.

They made me wait with a broken window for 12 days, only to cancel on me the day of because there is *snow on the ground* ( from previous days). Reschedule for another week only to never show up. When I called to ask how no one is showing up I was told to book a new appointment online for another 10 days. For a company that brag about replacing the glass the fastest, you sure take your sweet time.Update:After reading this review the company ask for my phone number so a representative will call me, they never did.Was significantly cheaper and faster to repair at a local place.
I went to reattach my rear view mirror after it fell off. Lol(I know fellas..) it took the technician all of 10 seconds to slip it back in place and screw something. All done. They are polite, service is fast.
Quick service, was in an out in less than an hour, they were able to get most glass with the vacuum, insurance covered the cost so cant speak for affordability

As first time windshield replacement people, we werent sure what to expect. We had a large, quickly growing crack in the windshield thanks to highway construction debris. The Safelight Astoria location couldnt fit us in for over a week. But the St. James location could see us the next morning. On the way out, they called to confirm our appointment. The reception desk gentleman was friendly and helpful. The waiting area was large, clean and comfortable. Plenty of seats, tv, restrooms coffee & tea. Our car was completed in 45 minutes, well under the 1 1/2 hours we were anticipating. The very friendly installer came out and explained what we should & shouldnt do over the next 24 hours. He even went above & beyond to help locate something that rolled under the front seat. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this specific Safelight location.

Regarding W54th Street: Sadly I had a small crack on my windshield window on my brand new 2020 Lexus (only 1 month old). I was so sad, people who work hard for things will understand this feeling. I was hesitant because of the reviews to take it here but my insurance company pushed me to do this and avoid paying any out of pocket fee. Times are hard so I agreed. I arrived with a crack that was 8 inches long and after a 2 hour wait outside in a near by park with my mask on I walked back to the garage and was told there was some bad news to report...I rushed to see my new car with a dented frame where the window was once there and a shattered window on the floor. The technician, Richard was clearly upset and said “it just fell and this is why I hate Safelite.” Not sure what that means but the young lady there tried to call Lexus to get a new window and they confirmed they wont have one available until tomorrow. I am now looking at my windowless BRAND new car wondering what NOW? They said they will put back my old window which is now cracked in 5 places and looks like a spider web with cracks over 36 inches long. I told them I have small kids and expressed this can not be a safe way to drive this car. I am also in NYC and my car is parked in the streets and expose to the elements...this cant be safe. They seemed totally unbothered and they delivered worst news. They claim that the glue used will not be able to be removed until 7 days later....so my new window will not be installed until the 17th. So now I have to pray that this window does not come crashing down while parked and driving is not even a option for me. Not a call, not a email, not a apology from Safelite. I can only pray they make this right. Lesson learn: “believe the ratings.“

Had an appointment for someone to do a windshield replacement on my car. I was called by the tech and told it was too cold to guarantee proper installation as the adhesive would not take under 20degrees (polar vortex week). I agreed to meet the tech at the shop and left work early to do so. Got there and was told the windshield that was sent was not the right one. Nothing could be done that day. He and the assistant manager took pics of my windshield from different angles, pics of my VIN, the housing behind the rear view mirror, etc., And told me that they would call to confirm the proper windshield then call me to let me know. Its a week later and I never heard a word back from anyone. If you call the number listed you only get the customer service line, no direct number to the shop. They get two stars because they did inform me of my options via my insurance instead of paying out of pocket, but I went to a different location to have all my work done. Also, FYI, the picture you get via email of the person coming to service your car is definitely not who shows up.
One star is to many for these people. they are unprofessional, disrespectful and quite frankly a waste of time.First time i scheduled an appointment with them they said their driver will show up between 8:00 and 12:00 and the guy showed up at 16:00.they have such a horrible internal communications system that they actually had no idea what my glass was. I mean i googled it and found the right one in under 1 minute, how hard can it be? they sent the wrong glass and the technician shows up with it and tries to make me say i dont want it because its not the original. while it actually just wasnt my glass. he tried so hard to make me say that. it freaked me out so i took out my phone and filmed him and you could see him change his attitude.finally they schedule another appointment for me and i drive into the city and show up half an hour early because my last experience gave me a hunch they will mess it up somehow. and sure enough i didnt disappoint myself. I pull up and the guy says they dont have my glass.. again they had the wrong one. just to make sure this is clear they called me and confirmed the appointment, they sent an email and also confirmed it but they couldnt double check before i came in that they had the right glass?they are so unprofessional and useless i honestly just laughed and drove away and called my insurance to recommend another company. its just right that i leave this review because smart people research before they do something and i hope this saves a few of you the wasted time.
Immediately upon my arrival, technicians found that the previous owner of my new-to-me vehicle had already repaired the small chip in the windshield, and that they had in fact done a good job.Its true that parking is a nightmare on W. 54th St.; this affects nearly all auto shops in Midtown that arent dealerships. What matters is having competent and honest staff. I wont hesitate to return if the need arises.
Overall experience was great. People were friendly and professional. Delivered as promised. However they do not have any parking space so they require to pick up your vehicle once it is done, because of that you need to spend your time in the neighborhood. But this is my experience, Safelite also can come to you as well so depending on your comfort zone:)
I went to SafeLite Autoglass at 446 West 54th St in Manhattan to get my windshield repaired. At the time, there were 3 employees. 2 of them were extremely volatile. The 3rd one was professional but relegated himself as a Their abusive behavior was in fact extreme. Even in these difficult times, there is no excuse for complete lack of professionalism. A SOMBER WORD OF CAUTION: IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE UNLESS YOU ARE ACCOMPANIED BY A BOYFRIEND, HUSBAND, OR BODY GUARD. I AM NOT JOKING. THE 2 SERVICEMEN THAT WORK THERE ARE DANGEROUS. THE ENVIRONMENT THERE AS A RESULT IS UNSAFE FOR A WOMEN TO BE THERE ALONE. IF AN INCIDENT OCCURS WHICH MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE OR ABUSED IN ANY WAY, DOCUMENT IT AND REPORT IT.
There seems to be a pattern of Safelite ordering the wrong windshields. Just read half a dozen reviews of this happening. Well surprise surprise, they ordered the wrong windshield TWICE. First at a Queens location in Glendale then at this location. I have to drive to a Safelite for the third time, all the way to the WEST SIDE from FORREST HILLS, QUEENS. Its about an hour drive due to traffic. What is so hard about calling someone, BEFORE THEY DRIVE IN, that their windshield isnt there? I understand orders get messed up but just CALL your customers so they arent wasting their time. Also, you cant even the call shops directly to see if they have the right windshield. The numbers listed online direct you to a customer service rep.
Jordan replaced the windshield on my 2016 Nissan Altima in April 2019 and did a perfect job. On top of that he was professional, friendly and kept us updated on status of the repairs. He was extremely careful on replacement of the registration, inspection and EZ Pass. Jordan made a stressful situation easier and we havent had any problems or leaks with the new windshield. Used them in the past and they were ok, but at least they showed up in a timely fashion. Called yesterday for them to replace a window, they had no availability to come to me or for me to bring it in for 4 days. really unacceptable.
If I could I would give this place 0 stars!!! I had my appointment (Made a week in advance) at 7:30am. When I got there around 7:15am they tell me the glass for my car is not in the shop but that the driver is on his way, that he should be there in 30 mins or so. I let them know I need to leave between 8:30 and 9 to make it to work on time. After 15 minutes they tell me the delivery van is late. Lucky for them the van only took 5 mins so we were all set. Or that what I thought. The glass for my car was not on that Van and the only option they gave me was to reschedule my appointment the guy had a passive aggressive attitude all the time and he literally shut the door once I was out of the shop. I had to call the 1800 number the lady that helped me was really nice and helped me schedule an appointment for another location the new day. Also this location is just a garage with no comfortable in our waiting room as they say on the confirmation email sent by Brandon the manager that let his position at this shop 2 years ago!
They ordered wrong glass twice for my BMW 740. I found out when I arrived for my appointment. Apparently no one in this company checks the glass beforehand to see if its the correct one. So now they will order correct one and I will have to come third time. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional.
Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Get there on time just to find out my windshield wasn’t delivered. Why did they have to wait for me to arrive to tell me this? I live in NJ so I am wasting tolls, gas and time to get there. I value my time and will not be returning.

Once I contacted Safelight they came to me, were prompt and ready for my repairs. However, my repair needed additional tools, I ended up having to take the car to the shop in midtown. Quick drop off, I took a walk for some breakfast, and came back to a fully repaired window, and a smiling employee. I hope that I dont need the service again for another unfortunate event, but if I do, Safelight is the way to go!
They repaired my front passenger window about a week. However, I had to wait a week and a half to get an appointment. Furthermore, the work was excellent!!
They have amateurs working for them. They went twice to repair my windshield and they didnt know how to. Got my money back. Rather go to Jerome in the bronx. If they had 0 star I would have gave them that.

Bill is a standup guy. He was very informative about what they use for their glass and what they do. He also recommended Nicks, a closeby diner, while I wait and Im glad he showed me that place.Unfortunately, some of my window stickers got messed up since they were really old stickers, but it was no biggie.I was glad to get my windshield fixed after a freak accident (some rock/something impacted the windshield and left a huge crack that covered the passenger side of the windshield).

They were supposed to come to me to fix where a rock hit my windshield, in the window between 830-1030. Called and said Id have to drive to them (I live in an outer borough and do NOT drive in midtown) and that the window was 8-12. Completely incompetent and did not match what my car insurance gave me about them. They were rude on the phone and didnt complete the job at all. Will never use them and requesting that my insurance agency remove them from their recommended list.
Simply said ... They wanted 1100 to do my window .. rear window to be exact .. went to a real glass place 250 out the door ..... Maybe they should stop spending so much on bad commercials
My Scion xB seemed to be a target for rocks, i replaced it 5 times. Recently my 2 year old Cmax needed a new windshield. Safelite has always offered a good price and fast service. I do not recall it costing more for them to come to me, but for them to come to my office parking lot and do it without my having to take the time to go to them, is easily worth $20. And yes, you should always shop around.

Long wait, they messed up on my windshield the first time so I has to reschedule. What was nice is that in the waiting room they had a Keurig coffee machine, water, comfortable seats, magazines & a tv that didnt really work; there was too much stac.
Great management team. Had a good experience getting my windshield fixed. I was annoyed I setup for them to come to me and they called and cancelled saying I had to bring it in.

I took my car to the 54th Street location for a replacement of the window on the drivers side rear automatic door. After they replaced the glass, the door no longer opened or closed manually or automatically. The manager tried to deny responsibilty, but eventually made the repair free of charge after I called Geico to report the damage. When I returned to pick my car, there were 2 new dents in the door that had been repaired and the dimmer switch on the inside of the car was broken. Also the upholstery was dirty and had foot prints on both of the front seats. The manager denied responsibility for the new damage. Im in the process of making a new claim with Geico.
