At first, I thought these guys were fantastic the first time I brought my car here. My car would randomly die. They said I needed a new alternator, so I replaced that. I picked up my car and it was fine for about a day. Then it started doing the same thing again. Brought it back and they told me they put in a bad alternator and they need to replace it. Got my car back again, worked for about a day without problems. Then the problems started back up again. I brought it back for a third time. It sat there for 2 days and they told me they couldn’t get it to fail and can’t figure out what is wrong with it. Told me abunch of lies of stuff they did, but In reality they didn’t even try and brushed me off. I went and picked it up and brought it to a different repair shop and they fixed it in less then a day. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Have to bring my vehicle in three times to get a/c fixed, they didn’t even look at the maintenance sheet dropped off with the vehicle. Never fixed my problem, took 3 tries and 3 days to refill my a/c. Charge me 1000$ for my a/c fix and refill. Reasonably priced if done right the first time. Don’t recommend unless you want to wait 3x as long and suggestions of slightly worn part that don’t need replacement

I was bringing my car into Honest1 for a rather expensive preventative maintenance job that another shop had recommended I do soon. Upon bringing my vehicle in, I had asked if they could inspect that area first, and give me their opinion on it, and they said absolutely. It didnt seem like it was something I needed to have done as its usually part of a 100,000 miles maintenance, and I had it done about 40,000 miles ago.They called me a couple hours later and told me that it looked like it was in good shape, and that they didnt see any indication that I needed to do that, which was very honest of them! I still had other things I wanted to address with the car, and had the team at Honest1 begin to take care of those for me. I would recommend, and Ill be bringing my car back there. Thank you

I got towed to Honest 1 Auto Care after breaking down on 694. The issue ended up being caused by work done by another mechanic. They got the car done and it is working good. Due to their evaluation the other mechanic is reimbursing me for the repairs

Their charge way higher than dealers price. Dealer charged me half of the price they charged. They didnt even care when I showed them the receipt from dealer. Not recommend.

Quick service but they also list all other non-essential fixes also. Very courteous prices were moderate to slightly high.

I went there for a general maintenance review which is Free for AAA members. Staff said they didnt know about the free service. They were going to charge me $30 until they went online and checked the AAA SITE. I got my free maintenance check which was done well. Staff was friendly and waiting room was clean & comfortable.

Service was fast and efficient. I feel the cost for an oil change was excessive—and I had a $15 off Coupon!

I brought my truck here for them to help me figure out why it was leaking transmission fluid. They said they’d look through my truck and charged me over $100. That’s fine. But all they found in their report was that my transmission was leaking, which I’d already told them. Their remedy was to simply replace every transmission cooling line for $2500. I made sure to get my truck out of there fast. Instead of finding where and why it was leaking, their solution was to just replace everything? I was able to bring it to another mechanic who found that it was leaking at a fitting going into the radiator. Replacing the fitting and a transmission flush cost me less than $300.I’m sure these guys do good work. They didn’t put much effort into finding my problem though. Theyre not looking to save you any money.

As always the boys at Honest-1 Auto Care did a fantastic job taking care of my vehicle. Fixed my AC Lickety-Split and also diagnosed some other noises I was hearing. They gave me a clear estimate on what it was going to cost and alternative options for me. Couldnt have been more professional and quick. I will always take my vehicles there

I went to Honest-1 for an oil change with the $15 off an oil change. What I received was excellent professional work in a timely manner and they even made sure my tires were at the correct psi. Brought our 2012 Honda Odyssey to Honest 1 Auto Care in New Brighton in July 2020 to have the timing belt replaced. The dealer wanted over $2K to do it. I searched for other options and found Honest 1 and glad I did. Honest 1 did it for half of what the dealer was proposing, gave us a loner car, and finished the job in about 4-5 hours. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

I had H1 conduct a pre purchase inspection on a car I was considering. The depth and thoroughness of the work was impressive. They highlighted issues which would have cost me thousands. I passed on the car. Well worth the money spent at H1.

My wife had taken our van there to fix our tire. Would have been to probably just buy new tires since they charged so much just fix a valve stem ($150!).About 2 weeks go by, and our alternator literally fell off! Of course, attached to the alternator is the serpentine belt, so that of course gets shredded too. Something seems suspicious here because alternators do not just fall off.I had my uncle from Wisconsin who is a full time auto mechanic come and look at it. He says that all 3 bolts that bolt on the alternator were busted off at the head, and that why it fell off. In all his days he’s never seen that. Those bolts are heavy duty and don’t break themselves. And this is a relatively new alternator so there was no rust!My uncle said he believes someone intentionally busted the bolts, as there is no way this could just happen naturally. Even if it could happen, 1 bolt maybe. But all 3?After reading reviews on Yelp for this “Honest-1” company and reading similar reviews of vehicles breaking down after a week of service, I’m all too suspicious. I can’t say for certain that this Honest-1 auto care company intentionally did this... but it seems like a heck of a coincidence if it wasn’t.But seriously, read the yelp reviews too and you’ll read similar reviews to this one. I do not trust this company and will not ever go back. Sticking with my uncle now.

Quick and good service! This would be 5 stara but the person who drove my car back wasnt wearing a mask. I think that anyone driving someone elses car should wear one and Im disappointed they werent.

Car repair is never fun to pay for but Honest-1 does it right. Honest-1s diagnostic report and receipt was formatted well and easy to read; it even included pictures of the car components that were bad with red arrows to show where the damage was. I also liked that the technician drove my vehicle around to observe the issue in real-time. The quote was competitive with other local car repair shops. The service advisor that worked with me -- Ryan Q. -- is skilled in customer service and did an excellent job translating the car issue and breaking down the price for me. They also did their own diagnostic report at no cost to me (I went in with a report and estimate from another shop). This location also has a Costco discount for parts, service, and labor! Honest-1 lives up to its promise. Highly recommend!

This company is the best auto repair garage I have ever found and I have had cars for over 50 years now. I wont trust my car to anyone else but these folks. Honest, fast and reliable all the way. Honest is the correct name for this shop. I was told that I did NOT need a new battery, oil change or brake pads, despite what the dealer told me. I can’t remember the last time I was told NOT to spend money at an auto repair shop. They rotated my tires, changed my brake fluid and wipers. Service was done quickly and was cost efficient. Personnel were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Definitely will go back.

I had nothing but a stellar experience with this repair shop. The only reason Im knocking back a star is because of how expensive it was. That being said, repairs of this kind are ALWAYS expensive, and one of the issues they fixed was actually significantly cheaper than a quote I received from the place I usually go to. Its just difficult to place a star rating when it comes to auto repair pricing, because every shop is wildly different and I can never tell if Im getting a fair price or not. It also doesnt help that Im pretty poor, so a $1900 repair basically wipes out my entire bank account and savings. Its hard to give a 5 star rating when thats the case.All that being said, the whole process was smooth as can be. As a true Millennial, I prefer not to talk on the phone, so I appreciated that I was able to schedule my appointment online, and they sent me frequent text updates. I found the diagnostic overview to be extremely helpful. After they assessed my vehicle, they texted and emailed me a link to a report about my car, which included pictures of some of the issues. Not only was I able to take my time reviewing the information, it was easy to share with my dad and some friends who know a lot more about cars than me. Much easier than me trying to explain what someone told me over the phone.The manager(?) who I worked with, Brad, was great. When we went over the costs, I asked if there were any issues that werent an immediate danger that I could get done later. He was quick to let me know that we could do without one additional $150 repair and didnt try to pressure me like a lot of other auto mechanics have done in the past. Ive dealt with many condescending repairmen on account of being female, so feeling respected goes a long way. It definitely makes me want to return for any future work. He was also able to give me a discount of about a hundred dollars.My car is a 2010 Kia Rio. In less than 24 hours, a technician named Trevor replaced my front brakes, which were completely worn out, replaced the brake fluid, and repaired the front struts. I have to admit that I dont know what a strut is or what it does, but I know that some part of it was broken and it was dangerous. This is the issue that was also diagnosed by the other shop I usually go to, so having two opinions on it lets me know it definitely needed to be repaired and that money had to be spent. The difference when I brake now is noticeable and feels much improved.Brad let me know that my car is otherwise in pretty good shape considering its age, so Im hoping I wont have any more major issues while I continue to pay it off. If I do, I will definitely consider paying Honest-1 another visit. Thanks for your attentiveness and quick work!

Use to be my go to place because of close location in New Brighton and quality service, until honesty went out the window. They quoted me a rack and pinion job at $2300 and said I needed a ball joint replaced at $800. I took it to garage I went to for 20 years but is a bit farther away and they replaced rack and pinion plus 2 new front tires for $1800 and said the rest of front end is good. So be careful and shop around people.

I ve been able to walk in explain the issue abd walk out with a free rental. With their warranty program, I have been able to get issues resolved for free. I recommend this place to anyone.

They were able to fund the cause of the issue, and get my vehicle on the road the same morning. As always, they do great work.

The New Brighton shop is great -- Even for a simple oil change, they are straight up with you about whats really needed given the age & mileage of your car and how often you drive. They also applied a discount beyond the usual $5 off for being a repeat customer. I would return again in a heartbeat.

Very dissatisfied, sorry to say, I felt my needs were not met! I came in for a oil change, which is the first thing I mentioned, then we went on to tires, wanted an assessment as to whether I need tires, and mentioned that one was low, and could I use my spare tire, if I needed tires! Asked for a price on steering connection that needed repair. As it turned out I got no oil change, no assessment whether I need tires, but you did fix the one that was low, you charged me for telling me something I already knew, leaking steering connection! Said it would be $1500.00 for steering fix! Iaaed if you would fill with steering fluid, that was not done, Charged me $30.00 to change a tire, and $60.00, for telling me something I already knew! Steering fix! So no not satisfied, will not be back!

I have gone here for car repairs over the last 5 years and have been treated very well. I trust the guys to fix and maintain only what is needed for the time. The management of Brad, Jeff and Ryan are superb.

This place represents their name! I brought my car in for work that the dealer quoted me $650 for and this was a way cheaper option! They told me 2/3 things didn’t need to be fixed and saved me a ton. Love this place, 10/10 recommend!

Mostly positive. This was an emergency, had to be towed. I wonder if they overcharge. Many others think they do. Appreciate the loaner car even though it was old and the brakes were not great.

Friday my wife brought the car here to get it inspected. They gave us an estimate for $1343 worth of work and said it would be ready in the morning. I was not involve so I went there to make sure the work needing to be done was correct, I agree and told Jeff to go ahead. Next day we called around 11 am to see if it was ready, it was not, needed a few more hours, no problem Around 2 pm we stop by because we were close by and they said no, it needed more time they only had one Mechanic and he was taking appointments which are more important! I asked the guy if he ever heard of keeping the customer informed and he did not respond. We came back before they close and it was done, my wife got upset because she had been waiting for them and needed the vehicle! I asked him for a copy of the inspection after I paid and was there anything we should know, he said no. I asked if they had check the oil level because she was due, he said the level was good. I went outside lifted the hood and checked the oil, it had no oil on the dip stick. My Wife of course went in and told them and brought the dip stick to them. We also had rear right turn signal out and a break light out! The inspection had been pencil whooped and the guy said he would talk to the tech, WOW! You are so close to our house but know we have no trust with you and you do not care about your customers! We will find another place and start all over hoping they are honest, keep you informed, and are thorough. We now have a noise in the front which is what we brought in for, but we will go somewhere else!

These guys are the only ones I trust with my vehicle and my family/friends. They never push anything on you and are honest when you do or dont need work done. They have extremely fair prices and never overcharge you.

Great place! I was just there for the first time ever the other day. I went in for an oil change and the staff was super friendly, and they took my coupon I got for a cheap oil change without any issues. It looked like they had quite a bit going on, so I figured my oil change may take a while and asked for a rough estimate on when it would be ready. He said by the end of the day (6 for them), and I got a call at 5 which was definitely enough time for me to get there and get the car. Good experience, will be returning.

Dropped the wifes car off overnight as she was having issues starting the car and battery problems.Got a call in the morning saying they were checking it out and would call me shortly with an update.An hour later I got a call with an update about the car being a dead battery that was just barely holding a charge. Everything else was fine thankfully.Gave them the approval to replace it and got a text message with an interactive webpage for their shop.It showed photos of the car up on the lift, battery testing results, and other status updates. That to me was incredibly cool as no other shop that Ive been to does that.Only downside was the price of the battery was a bit pricey, but the service and what not was top notch.4 stars

The owner of the shop Tyler and the manager Jeff were amazing! I had them install a new fuel pump in my truck, which was done very quickly. After the install, I brought it up to them that I had previously had my last fuel pump installed by an Honest 1 Auto Care shop. They did a check in their computer system and saw that I was still under warranty. Unfortunately, it didnt automatically come up in their system that I needed to bring my truck to the Lyndale Ave location where I had the old pump installed to get credit for the new install. However, they honored the warranty anyway and waived the fees!!! I really appreciated this because I know that their particular store will have to take a hit for this. I will make sure to make it up to them by bringing all my vehicles there for all types of services and repairs. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

I was stuck in the area and needed to drive back to Wisconsin that evening. My car wasn’t heating properly and the outside temps were well into the negatives.Jeff and the team there took my car in as a walk-in appointment and completed the job in a few hours, even though they were busy. They were able to order new parts, get them shipped in, and install them. It was a little expensive, but due to fast nature of their work, I think it balanced out. I was able to get back in time.Thanks for a great job!

Best auto shop by far! Nothing like most other places that try to add a bunch of stuff on and charge you more. The manager Jeff was extremely helpful and even suggested how to find coupons off. With the fail of doing so, he checked to see if anything was still under warranty. We found that it was in fact under warranty and even though the part that they had ordered wasnt covered Tyler the owner then still waved the fee on the part AND the other service we had done that werent supposed to be covered. And our $1,000 bill we though we were going to have to take a hit on was covered! If I could give them 10 stars I would! Im never going anywhere else for auto needs again!

Jeff hauge was the service advisor that helped me with the repairs on my F150. The mechanic Trevor did an awesome job repairing the manifolds on my truck. Now it purrs like a kitten. No more embarrassing ticking noises. Pricing was good as it was a labor intensive job. One dreaded by mechanics. I’ll be back there.

I have been going to New Brighton ford for the past 5 years, after 3 visits for the same issue I decided to try someone new. I was referred to honest-1 by my parents and glad I ended up there. My mechanic was Trevor Gavin and he fixed the misfire on my truck the first time and was very knowledgeable with any questions that I asked. They were all very easy to work with and made my experience as smooth as possible. I will be going here for my future repairs.

Overly priced. Kept all my receipts from this place (and other locations) to bring into another mechanic - other mechanic was amazed at the high prices and fees, considering my vehicle was is so often, and always needed $1,000 plus in work everytime. New mechanic fixed everything for much less with 100% guarantee.Cusotmer service was great at first, but then became short once I explained I wouldnt be continuing services. I used to think highly of this place, but now know I was completely jipped.

I was disappointed at the service here. They had my car for four days and never figured out the problem with it.And still they charged me a $100 diagnostic fee.I thought you pay this fee to find out whats wrong with your car.I will never bring it back there.

I had numerous electrical problems with my jeep and took it to two other shops that couldnt figure out the issue. I got it back and the power drain was still there. Mark took my car back and put hours into fixing what turned out to be a completely separate issue but they were true to their word and said since I paid to have the other issue but the power draw remained they fixed it free of charge! I am very happy as I thought I was going to have to get rid of the vehicle! It would be hard to be much happier with the end result.
