Had a trailer hitch put on my 2019 VW All Track today (for our bikes)by Rob. Brittney greeted me when I arrived early and assured me that Rob could manage any hitch. She was right. Rob arrived 10 minutes before my 11:00 appointment and assured me that he done many like the All-Track, and took the car in. He worked steadily for about 2 hours and gladly put the bike rack on when I asked. While I waited, Britteny was training two new hires at the computers, having each trainee wait on different customers. I was impressed with how supportive and patient she was with them. I was also impressed with how Rob dealt with an older man who came in needing a new electrical cable installed in his camper. Although Rob couldnt do that kind of work at U Haul, he told the guy that he would come to his house some day before work and fix his problem! Overall, a really good experience. After dealing with a cancelled tow installation at a very unprofessional uhaul location, picking up parts 45 minutes away and speaking to at least 6 other reps..I came to New Bedford. I FINALLY found someone whom knows what he’s doing..Rob!! Rob is very professional, kind and courteous! On a Friday; at 6pm, he was able to install my tow hitch and saved us from potentially having to throw away all of our possessions. Thank you, Rob, for your great work and professionalism. I hope your company knows you are one of select few whom they should value!
If I could give less than 1 star to this horrendous experience, I sure would . Lack of professionalism, lack of attention to multiple customers & a confusing storage situation . Would absolutely not recommend, definitely avoid . I would love my money back .

This U-Haul location has great, reliable rental equipment. Most of their trucks and vans are brand new!! They are my go to company and location for van, truck or trailer rentals. Although they recieve a low score in their efficiency to get you their equipment quickly. I will rent equipment using their online site only to have to wait in line at their store for 30 minutes. I wish they could expedite their rental process so I could go in and out and off to my job faster.
Went to get a propane refill. Pulled up to the kiosk that states press button for assistance at the tank filling station. 10 minutes later I walk inside. 15 minutes after that the only employee working states that the employee who fills the ranks is 15 minutes late and she cant fill it because of her hand injury... see you later. Walked out without saying a word and Ill never be back
Worst experience, love the theft. Used a truck for TWO hours, and was told all I had to do was drop it back off and put the keys in a box. They charged me an addictional $36 for nonsense fees and a drop off fee which the employee failed to mention both on the phone and in person. Customer service said the manager claims his guys always mention it. Ummm, nope. Gave my contacr info and have yet to get any response from the manager. Will absolutely be calling corporate and BBB, the theft and lack of accountability is disgusting!
This is a terrible facility. There is poor to non-existent communication. The actual staff seems way overworked and the place is significantly understaffed. That is my generous interpretation. They were supposed to transfer my U-Boxes to a climate-controlled storage over a month ago and have still not done so. I am paying for climate controlled storage (and that is the ONLY reason that I went with U-Haul in the first place) and for two months in the summer I have not be getting climate controlled storage. No one I talk to seems to think that is a problem. Also, the whole U-Haul U-Box experience has been horrible, from start to finish. The boxes were late, one short, and damaged WHEN they were delivered and there was a significant amount of water in the units when we accessed them in MA because of that damage, which left a gap between the top of the box and the door. Now the boxes have been sitting in summer heat AFTER having sustained water damage rather than sitting in a climate-controlled space as paid for. I fear what the contexts of them will be like when I have them delivered to a real storage facility soon.
Old dirty truck that broke down (overheated) 30 minutes after renting from this location. Roadside assistance dispatched and we found out the truck had no coolant (6 GALLONS of antifreeze added). No follow up by manager, employees, or uHaul.
Rented a uhaul everything was fine. Came back to rent a second uhaul and the manager says he cant rent us a vehicle le bc we owe a $25 balance? Why not say something when we gave back the first truck. Then since my friend was paying for the truck, he asks me for my info and has the audacity to say its because he thinks Im going to steal. Its extremely insulting to me that he really thought and verbalized that he thought I would steal something (???) from a dirty uhaul truck. Also they make you sit there and call corporate yourself to fix a problem they could literally do themselves. Then after moving we literally clean the uhaul give it back and have a 25 dollar fee for cleaning the staff just seems unprofessional and the floor of the trucks arent even swept or clean.
Have rented there about 20 times. Always is pretty fine.but, the $29 truck rental actually costs about $70, once you have minimal insurance ($14) enviro fee ($1), tax and drive it for 20 miles )$22.
By far the worst experience. They do not have a hitch installer & still scheduled an appointment for me wasting my god damn time when I showed up and literally turned me away nothing was available till the following week. Throwing off my entire moving plans. The worst part of it all is that they still charged my cArd for the hitch installation the I have never received. $500! This beyond the worst experience ever. And calling customer service they are even worst. They hung up on me 3 times!!!!! This is ridiculous. Ridiculously ridiculous. I am extremely upset, I can not even get my money for a few days. It was easy to take it for services that would not be provided for me. At this point I should have never ever trusted uhaul. I will never again in my life. I do not recommend to anyone.
The manager who runs this branch needs to rethink what he/she is doing....they have ONE PERSON ALONE working to both complete the transaction paperwork AND get the physical truck/trailer ready and go outside together things ready. A huge line of 6 people Sun at 10am...we had to wait 51 min...yes nearly an hour, to get our motorcycle trailer. AND I did online checkin...but of course THAT makes no difference when the store literally has ONLY ONE PERSON WORKING ON SITE. Besides this the same lone uhaul worker is talking nonstop to customers about how shes always the only one on duty and has to do everything herself. Look, I understand your mgr is clearly an idiot but complaining about how much you do, how long hours you work, and how no one is ever there to help you...none of this complaining is helping the frustration level or the 6 ppl waiting!!! I will never use this location again.

I went to have a hitch installed, mechanic snapped a bolt, manager wouldnt show me which bolt after I asked several times. Manager refused to give me a refund while I was there so that turned into a 6 day hassle. New manager was fired July 12, second manager fired in less than a month. You can have 3 employees at the counter and only one working a register. No one showed up for work today except for a fantastic regional employee, Kim. I hunted for my items, finally found them and the mechanic and manager were having the wrong size hitch installed. Expect to spend an easy hour. I have been here 6 times in a month or so and averaged 2 hours per visit.
A lot of work for just one person. She is very good employee but can not alone.

My experience with this location was not what I expected. I arrived later then my 9 AM pickup, I was not greated by any of the staff and after waiting for 10 minutes I had to ask if anyone was going to give me my van. Finally when they felt up to helping me the strangest thing that has ever happened while renting equipment happened. They asked me for an alternate contact in case they couldnt get a hold of me. The employee them picked up the phone and called my alternate contact to make sure they answered and could confirm they where who I said they where ! Yes, thats right. Thankfully my father picked up the phone otherwise they wouldnt have let me leave with my rental. Avis should take a note from this clever policy... they only had my license and credit card on file! Lol... So im not happy with the service. I tried calling uhaul corporate offices however after waiting on hold for 1 hour I gave up on having that conversation. So, be warned, the staff are not cross trained and the manager is preoccupied with nonsensical bull.
Today went to a hitch install appointment. Left car @9 was not called now trying to reach someone @ this location. Connect with call service was told parts not in today and complained I was not told of the parts not in. Dropped car and WAITED there for 20 minutes for my ride. If the parts were not in stock should have that communicated to me while I was waiting. Let word at call center for manager to call me. Terrible service.I would not rate 1 star but no stars cant post a comment. Buyer beware.
Absolutely terrible. Their attitude is ridiculous. Their curstomer service is awful and they speak to you very ignorantly. They also gave me less gas then stated as well as giving me a cut tow strap. Then I call to speak to them I get the contact center and I can’t be forwarded to the actual facility.
Not the only one to complain about this. Rented a trailer for 1 day. Returned it the next day BEFORE the promised time. I paid the $28 at pickup, and stuck to the agreement. A whole week (later or more) i see a pending transaction from them for $58. Confused and angry I called corperate and the lady i must say was nice and issued a review the very next day after that chsrge clesrs theres another $58 charge. Tried calling the store manager (who happens to never be available) and have yet to hear a response. And my bank will not issue a stop payment because they themselve arent much better. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Save yourself the greif and go to fairhaven or rhode island.

I tried to use the review link for corporate provided by Email but it didnt work. BIG SURPRISE !! Anyhow I dropped my service vehicle off to get a hitch installed by uhaul who claim to be the hitch pros.. well I am completely disappointed with Uhaul. Not only did they not install my hitch because they said they didnt have a drill bit to install the hitch plug nor could they get my spare tire off????? Really???? This is what you do!!!! To boot i found the tools they were using in my van. A pair of pliars and a screw driver.. what a joke!! The worst part for me is that I took the day off and took my van off the road which can earn $1,000.00 per day on a good day, and now I have to do it again at my mechanics. Not only did uhaul fail, the manager couldnt figure out how to refund my money. He had to call someone else to ask how.. unreal. The other thing that was completely BS was that when I arrived I was told I was first in line so Id be done first, but I got a call at 3:00 to tell me my van was all set.. really?? Why didnt I get a call by 10:00?.. if you couldnt do the job.. wow!!So in the end i bought the hitch and wiring kit only to be handed a ripped bag of hardware which fell all over the place. I think uhaul should stick to rentals and storage because they obviously dont have any competent hitch installers. NEVER AGAIN!
I rent from the New Bedford uhaul 1-2 a month for the last 3 years. The store Manager Brian is very helpful and always finds a way to get a truck for me when its busy.

Its a very busy store, but the employees are helpful and patient - particularly when it comes to trailer lighting - my wiring harness was broken and i had to come back a couple of times before i got it right - and they had no problem with that.
Worst service ever. Takes 30+ mins to buy boxs. No sorry for the wait, nothing.
