I have been going to this store over 10 years. The original management team was great. Very nice. Never had a problem. Unfortunately, cannot say the same for one of the women that work there now. A mistake was made by one of their employees. In speaking with the older female/manager instead of addressing the issue professionally, she resulted to trying to insult me and stereotyping African Americans. I usually always double-check my purchases so I take part of the responsibility as well. Great customer service would have at least apologized for the error and that would have suffice but that was not the case. There are several hair stores on that street alone so customer service is imperative. Unfortunately, there are very little black owned hair stores to spend my money. I will find another place to spend my money as well as my family and friends. We can longer stand for racial insensitivity or racial bias.

The girls here were super helpful when it came to finding what I was looking for.

The selection of products here is awesome. I didnt find exactly what I was looking for because the store carries more products for ethnic women than white women but the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are comparable to other stores similar in the area.

I’m not too sure where these negative comments about mistreating black people are coming from .I have always been treated with respect when coming to this beauty supply. They are always very happy to help and are very trustful. I have seen many things transpire in the store and they always handle it with grace and with dignity. This is a wonderful business, and as a black woman, I that they are very supportive of our people . I have also had many BLACK friends work here and they loved it and love the ones that not only own it but work here.

Horrible customer service. My mother just spend a lot of money with these people. Went to her car and found her car battery dead. She went back inside the store to get a address and use the restroom they wouldnt let her use the restroom. So she asked for a refund of the stuff that she just bought they refused to give her a refund only store credit. These are some heartless people dont waste your money on them.

Always go there. My beautician has a account there I get her discount. They have never been disrespectful so far. I don’t get followed around the store ever and have been many times. I get my stuff and have even took stuff back with no problem my beautician will call them and tell them I am bringing it back and they give me what she tells them.

Variety of choices. Was looking for crochet faux locs. Very satisfied with prices.

I love this place. The selection of things in general could be more but then again, it’s a small place.I typically call ahead for what I want and they’ll have it at the counter ready and waiting. I’ve NEVER been treated badly and the staff is always beyond accommodating

Ive been in Hollywood hair beauty store so many and every single time I get very negative and rude attitudes from the workers. The only one in there thats nice to me is the young girl so Ive decided as of today I will order my braiding hair on line and will never step foot in that place again! Also forgot to mention Im a license beautician and Ive sent customers in there so they should definitely give me more respectso that really shows you how rude they are!

I was in Hollywood hair on Murfreesboro Rd to pick something up for my wife and daughter. There were three young Somalian girls in line. They paid for an order that was $50 on one register and then grabbed something else for a second transaction that was $23. They went to the older asian man at another register this time. He tried running the card, but it wouldnt work. He refused to switch registers because he said its the card. So the other girl handed him her own card. He said it didnt work and that he was gonna call the bank. So he picked up the phone pretending to call and within one minute said the bank said the card is no good. How is that even possible and he didnt even give a card number? He even went so far as to say the other card they used was stolen! She said I just used it here! He said When? She said, When I bought this stuff. So he then tried to charge her AGAIN for the stuff she already bought! He accused her of not actually buying it! When she tried to show him her valid receipt, he snatched it out of her hand!!! She said, Dont snatch anything out my hand. Thats so rude and bad customer service. I dont want to deal with you. She then asked the lady to ring her up. He got upset and called her a stupid b*tch! Quite naturally they responded with You dont talk to women that way and told him that he needs to watch his mouth. He said it again and told then f*ck you!!! They let him have it! They cussed him out he then leaned over the counter and swung trying to hit them but missed. So then he tried to throw heavy objects at them and told the young worker lock the door. I said No da f*ck you dont. He tried to lock them inside the store! The wife started cussing at them and the girl was ready to fight her. I was able to get the girls out the door to safety. The girls called metro meanwhile he set off the burglary alarm!! I couldnt stay due to separate legal issues but I did call 911 and told dispatch what happened. She said there is somebody in route. PLEASE STOP GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY!!! This is Hollywood Hair World Beauty Supply. They have a reputation for mistreating black people....the very people who keep them open!

Really rude and uninformed about the products I went in for. Had a really pathetic interaction with the male owner (I’m assuming) where he laughed in my face for being there (I’m a white male in the beauty supply store, so what? I stay fresh) and the female behind the counter tried to sell me muslin strips *insisting* they were “pre-waxed”...? Bye Felicia. Shame, cause they had some cool clothes laying around, but I really can’t support a business like that..

They are very rude and follow you (African Americans) around like youre going to steal something! I dropped my receipt and it got wet and the lady wouldnt even exchange my wig glue that was $9.99! Just rude and over priced in my opinion! I will never spend a dime in that store again! The only nice one is the young girl!

They dont let their primary demographic use their restroom. When I asked to use the restroom she told me that it wastt public. I let her know that Im a paying customer. After having sat in 1.5 hour traffic from downtown Nashville, naturally it was time. She told me that I could use Papa Johns and asked why I was making a big deal about it. I told her because Im not shopping at papa Johns Im Spending money here. She literally wanted me to go next door when they have a functioning restroom in their Store. Bottom line they dont want black women using their restrooms. If you read their other google reviews, there are many instances of other black women experiencing the same mistreatment and or harassment. Not worth spending money here when collectively they make all of their money from black women.

DO NOT BUY ANY HAIR FROM THIS STORE UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE! They are extremely sneaky with the return policy. The employees got extremely rude when I asked what the problem was. I also recommend that you stand next to natural light in the store because the lighting in the store does not show true color or condition of the hair. I have been going here for years, but after my experience I will never go again.

Very short tempered, not very helpful, take customers for granted, need more knowledgeable employees, not just sale a pruduct so I took my business else where instead. not a critic, just a customer!

The male employee follows customers from aisle to aisle. Even when you express youre uncomfortable. I will never return. There are way too many other QUALITY hairshops in the area for this kind of disrespect and racist behavior.
