Best staff around. Super knowledgeable about our local waters and are always willing to help when needed. Amazing people. It may be considered a big box store in the fly fishing world, but Orvis Nashville operates like your local fly shop.

As a beginner, I found the staff incredibly helpful and informative. I went in expecting to spend a lot on equipment. They were very honest about what little I needed. They could have upsold me on a few things but didnt - they recommended only the minimal that I needed to get out in the water and enjoy fly fishing.

Went to the fly tying 101 class they offer. Great instruction and learned a lot. They even helped my set up my reel, as I’m just getting into the sport. The employees were phenomenal to deal with. Will return for future classes too include private instruction as needed. 10/10

I have a fly rod and reel but havent fished it yet. Orvis Nashville helped me get exactly what I need to get out on the water and start practicing. Thanks Keith, much appreciation for your patience and assistance. I will be back soon for sure.

Beware of the Gift Card scam! My husband was given a gift card for his birthday. He happily told me what to purchase. On check out I entered the gift card number and pin. The gift card was for $250 and I added another $224.00 in purchases so put in our AmX as well. When I hit the purchase button I noticed the receipt was for $474.00. First chance for Orvis to keep the gifted money if I hadnt noticed. I immediately started to look for the number to call which is not apparent. I saw a little box that states IF YOU DONT CALL OR CHAT IN 20 MIN. ALL ORDERS ARE FINAL. So I immediately started a chat in the first minute after placing the order. Second chance for Orvis to keep the gifted money. When the chat began I was told that once an order is placed they cant apply the gift card. Third chance for Orvis to keep the gifted money. When I brought up the 20 min policy I was then told Hold on there might be something I can do! She then returns and says Okay you will be charged the entire $474.00 now but when you get all of your items we will give you a refund. I said that is not acceptable because one item is not going to be delivered for 2 months. I dont want to have to remember to look for a refund in 3 months time. So just cancel the order and refund the gift card back to the purchaser. This being the 4th attempt for Orvis to keep the money. At this point the tune began to change a little. Now I was told to hold on again. She said my card would be charged initially $474 but then it would Go away! I said what exactly do you mean by Go away! She said the charge would only actually be for $224. She then said the rest would not be charged until the final item shipped. What? This was paid in full. There should not be a second charge! This now being the 5th attempt for Orvis to keep the gifted amount! At that point I told her I am taking screen shots of this conversation BTW, and the person who purchased this gift card is very well connected. He is not going to be happy about this! Miracles happen! Suddenly she could apply the gift card immediately and the card would not be charged until the last item was delivered! This struggle should NEVER have taken place! This should have been a 5 minute customer service conversation where the end result was that the gift card was applied as requested. That gift card should be looked at as money already received (as it is) by the company. It is not a coupon or a promo code. Was this just a lazy customer service agent? Maybe, or more likely how she was taught by the company to make the customer fight for their money. This in the hopes that through inattention to detail or shear exhaustion they leave that gift card behind or make a second purchase to use it. Either way its just bad business!

Great store with very friendly and helpful staff. Orvis may be a little more expensive, but the quality of their gear is good and customer service is second to none. Great staff and good selection for fishing gear, however their mens clothing line is a little limited compared to what you see online or in a catalog. Perhaps its the demographic in the area. They do carry Barbour are often well stocked in fall through winter.

Orvis has gone to junk! No warranties, holes in products that are over priced from hanging tags.... their clippers are not even covered if they dull in under a year.. REALLY????

Came to the store with my family... I fully intended to buy new waders, boots, and reel. My youngest (1 yr old) was upset when he fell while walking into the store. We were told his crying was upsetting the other 2 ppl in the store and we were asked to leave. I will never shop Orvis or recommend again!

Not impressed - walked in around 10:30 a.m. on January 10th looking to replace my favorite khakis purchased from Orvis 6-7 years ago at the Orvis store in Miramar Beach, FL. The mens khakis were displayed in a wall shelf unit and I found the style I wanted, but not in waist size 42. I looked around and no staff member offered a greeting or to help me find the desired style and size. My experience with Orvis in Miramar Beach has always been positive, but Green Hills/Nashville failed miserably. Since I was the only customer in the store, it seems logical any one of the three employees could have offered assistance. At least I heard a faint come back when leaving highly bothered with the total lack of service.2 /1 /19 UPDATE - Orvis responded to the review and asked for my contact information, which was passed along to the district manager. I received a call from the DM and he was very pleasant. Hed reviewed the video of my visit and agreed his staff missed the mark on customer service. He committed to use the video as a learning tool for the Green Hills (Nashville) staff. My rating is moved from a 1 star to a 3 star based on DMs positive response. I plan a follow up visit in a month or two and will provide an update. Lets hope my rating will reflect a good store visit equal to my experience with rthe Miramar Beach/Destin store. My experience with Orvis merchandise has always been outstanding and my dogs love the dog beds and other pet accessories offered by Orvis.

Adam at the Green Hills location is an amazing salesman. The stores credit card processing system went down and I was in a hurry. He still made the transaction seamless. Additionally I was looking for the super soft quarterzip for a Christmas gift in navy and it has been sold out online for weeks. He researched the inventory of other stores, found one in Alpharetta and had it shipped to me with guaranteed delivery before Christmas. He knew I was running to an appointment so with my permission, he texted me updates and even a copy of my receipt. He is truly an asset to the Orvis store and brand!
