I ordered a beef brisket from porter Road and I am so glad I did! Best meat I ever had and shared it with family! I thought it was to fatty but boy was I wrong! It was just great! I will definitely be ordering from them again! And looking forward to it! I been sending the link to a lot of friends and family! I wish al the old fashioned ways would come back so we have more real butcher shops!, bakery’s and such!

Ive been ordering porter road online to Illinois for the last few months and have not been disappointed once with the quality of meat that was delivered.I also test what butcherbox meat delivery was like which would have been great if I hadnt already tried porter road as its quality is hard to beat.

Coming here to get a few cuts to make a dish I’m craving from home. Most things are frozen and in huge quantity. Those setbacks are fine but the attitude of the person supervising the person assisting me is very rude and acted like I’m coming to bother them. She was saying to that guy who was trying to help me “after this we are not going to sale like this anymore” in front of me. I just walked out. I have been a customer for a while and unfortunately won’t be coming back. Buying good quality meat doesn’t need to come with this much attitude.

Porter Road is my go to butcher! They have an incredible selection of meats and groceries. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They make it easy to succeed when cooking their meats because of how they butcher them. You dont have to trim off excess silver skin or worry about excess work. They also are helpful when you ask them for recommendations on cooking! That have great advice and tips for getting the most out of your meat!

Bought the bone in ribeye, large skirt steak and the beef ribs all were top quality in look taste and aged flavor was some of the best Ive had in years I think I found a new home for meat and I live in Texas. I will be back fo more very soon.

The steaks we received from Porter Road came quickly, in a well-sealed, cold box. Depending on what you purchase, yes it may be more expensive than whats down at your local chain grocery store - but its absolutely worth it.Our steaks were absolutely delicious, and Ive cooked them a few different ways now. It really just shows you the difference of starting with a great cut of meat, it instantly improves whatever meal youre making.I was really impressed with the quality of the food and the service that came along with it, and my family and I will certainly be purchasing more food from Porter Road in the future.

The Kielbasa was not good, ground to fine with very little seasoning. The butcher that was working did an incredible job cutting the filets have not grilled them yet but they look great.

The first time I went was wonderful. I got two dry aged Ribeyes to share with my husband. They were incredible.Fast forward, my husband wanted those steaks for his birthday, so I called to order them. I asked for dry aged bone in Ribeyes. The lady on the phone said okay we will call you back once we have it measured and its ready. I got the call and paid then drove to Nashville to pick them up. It was carside pick up so as soon as I got them. I drove back home. Upon opening up the meat I noticed it didnt look the same as the last time I had gotten steaks. They also didnt have the same smell. They also had a very bad brown side. However, I shrugged it off and vacuum sealed them. Today, my husbands birthday, I made them. I have to be honest. They tasted just like Walmart steaks. Nothing special. No dry aged flavor. Spending the amount that I did per steak, it was quite humiliating. My husband was pretty disappointed.Another thing to note, I ordered the steaks on the 30th. I noticed that on the package which my steaks came in it said 4/24. It also looked as if another name was on it but then later scribbled out. The name Kayla which is nothing close to DZasia.I do understand that there is covid-19 out and spreading, but to pay that much money and receive steaks that are Walmart worthy is beyond upsetting. .Edit: Its been a year since this incident, and I contacted the company. It turns out I received the wrong order and they gave me free steaks to apologize. Im very grateful! I cant wait to order more steaks. These were so beautiful ❤️!

Just cooked up two products from Porter Road. The Memphis sausage and the dry aged hamburger patties. Was not impressed with either. The sausages blew up on the grill after 5 minutes over medium direct heat. Was a big mess. Had to take them off the grill and turn them into sloppy joes on the stove. The hamburger was not much better. They looked fatty and cooked up that way. Lots of flare ups and had to cook them on low direct heat. They tout their dry aged beef, but should say Fatty Dry Aged Burgers.

Favorite place to get meat. 🍖😍I live off bone broth and liver. The deli meats and cheeses are the bomb. Everything is excellent quality, I would rate it high even compared to charcuterie shops in Europe.I can get any kind of organ meat and yes marrow bones. Tallow and stock are sold here too.I even got lardo, which is not often available in America. The staff are chill and friendly. A gem!

Used online order. Everything arrived in time, secure and sustainable-green package materials which was a good surprise. Product quality is the best. It is great when farmers choose to raise their animals responsibly and sustainably.

Bought beef bacon and it was over smoked next time I’ll try unsmoked my beef ribs was fire..The second time I went I felt like my business wasn’t wanted.

Just had two of their boneless pork chops, wonderful. This is our second order. Had an issue with the first one but the service was excellent. Have also had their blade steak, Chuck eye steak and flatiron steak. All were outstanding. Will be ordering more soon.

We got a strip loin roast for Christmas dinner. Guests all agreed: best roast beef ever! Leftovers tonight still just as good. Tender, juicy, excellent meat.

My favorite butcher shop in the state. The best jowl bacon, lunch meat, steak, pork chops, sausages, literally everything Ive gotten there has been of the best quality, some things the best Ive tasted in my life. Top notch butcher shop, cant find a better one around. If you get a chance to try the BBQ outside the shop when theyre open, its also top notch. Cant recommend any more highly, if youre not vegan you need to go here.

Have ordered a handful of items from Porter Road. Filet & bone in ribeye very good, tenderloin was so tender! Bacon & pork back bacon were delicious as were the pork brats. Well definitely continue to order from them. Many items are out of stock however you can get added to their wait list & trust me, when youre notified that steaks are available youd better order yours ASAP because they sell out QUICKLY!!!! Everything comes very well packaged, lots of ice packs layered among the meats.

Was really hoping to make a Fathers Day purchase but they werent really interested in my business.I spoke with a kind gentleman Tuesday who informed me they receive poultry Wednesdays and to come by Thursday. Drove over to the store Thursday during business hours to find them closed. Called the number and after going through auto-attendant to get to speak to a butcher, the call disconnected. Multiple times. From parking lot, connected with Aaron through the website chat and he explained theyre closed due to unforeseen maintenance. He then basically threw his hands up and said something like, “Come back tomorrow. Should be open.”Should be open? Really!? Thats all you got? From what appears to be a cool east Nashville business, I expected something like, Man, were sorry....what is it youre looking for? Ill take your number and call you tomorrow.....lets figure this out….so sorry you drove all the way over…..”, something, but got nothing. Had to go to Sperrys Mercantile.

Couldnt let another day pass without kudos to this amazing neighborhood butchershop. The butchers here are so skilled and knowledgeable about their craft and can help you with what you need, or tell you to try something new you dont know you love yet. Called here to get a VERY specific cut of meat cut in a very certain way for a Pakistani dish and the lady that took my order had it ready within in an hour and it was more beautiful and even better than I expected. Ive tried beef and chicken here, but they have all different meats and pre-made sausages too if you want that. They also have cheeses. They take special orders and only use local farms. Top quality!

This is the 2nd time we received the carton of meat already thawed out. These orders of meat are expensive and should be packed on dry ice instead of ice packs, it’s only my wife and I and we need to freeze the meat. If the meat is shipped out frozen and thaws out, rule is you should not re-freeze meat.

Our first Chuck steak was terrible. Nice thickness. 1”1/2. Nothing but tough fat throughout!!!!! I repeat, Terrible! So disappointed. Better steak at Kroger.

I ordered a few different cuts of beef online and had it delivered to me in Virginia Beach. They have a great selection of cuts as well as chicken, pork and lamb. I also use Butcher Box who I am very happy with, however Porter Road has a much wider variety of products.The animals are humanely reared which is the main reason I will continue to order from Porter Road, however they also have a better selection of cuts than I can find locally. The beef was good quality, it is finished on grain which I really like. Everything arrived cold and the vacuum packs were all intact, I like that the beef arrives fresh rather than frozen also. The packing is all recyclable / biodegradable which is great too.The company is very responsive via email also which is nice. I don’t have a subscription, I like how I can just order what I want when I want it rather than being tied to a certain amount with a subscription. They do have subscription options available also if that’s something you’re interested in.I look forward to more great orders in the future.

I drove up to order some meat, and I guess I didn’t follow the exact ordering protocol to the T, and the woman taking my order treated me like I was the bane of her existence. Way to treat me like garbage for trying to do business with you!

My daughter asked me to buy some chicken skin. The nicer guy said...$2/lb. The other one, thinking perhaps that Im dumb, said $6!!! Freaking higher priced per pound than regular chicken!!! I sensed the discrepancy. Its not like they dont know that its $2!!!I paid $21 for 3 lbs of chicken skin.. tsk, tsk.

My wife bought me a few of things from here for fathers day. I received a couple very average NY strips. They were well marbled but very lackluster in flavor. The ground beef was fine, you cant really mess up ground beef. But the bratwurst was absolutely horrible. I have never had such a crumbly dry mess of a bratwurst. She could have saved money just grabbing me a couple rib-eyes from Whole Foods and I would have been way happier than wasting my time cooking these products.

Absolutely aweful picanhe aka sirloin tip with fat cap. No flavor. So tough I fed to dogs after spending100+ on two of them. So Im sure the answer will be, Oh you cooked it wrong. NO. i have a tried and true recipe that has come out perfectly EVERY SINGLE TIME accept the time I used this companies meat. Never again.

I normally dont write much review but have to praise Porter Road for their amazing Bratwurst and loose Italian Sausage. I stumbled upon their advertising via Flipboard and decided to give it a try. I ordered a lot of meat from the internet in the past but must say this one is both one of the best quality and price out there. I tried the Stay at Home Bundle and some burger patties along with Bratwurst to get free shipping. Havent tried the other yet but so far they are amazing. Will certainly become a regular.

I love this place. I visit often, sometimes several times a week. This is the only place I purchase meat aside from local farms. The quality is always unmatched. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I often let them guide me in my choices or just choose for me. I honestly could not ask for more from my neighborhood butcher shop. Oh and theyre meatballs in their prepared foods section are absolutely to die for.

When you go to their website it’s tailored to only their cuts & subscriptions of meat, which is a bummer.I hope that the website is updated and future pivots are made.

A coworker recommended Porter Road. Everything looks good and tastes good, Im sure. But $40 for shipping because I didnt order $100+? Nope. I emptied my cart when I saw that and will look elsewhere. Disappointing.

Will NEVER buy from Porter Road again. Gave them a second chance after a mediocre first experience. New order came in and I grilled a boneless ribeye. Cooked it medium rare and it looked really good. But it was tough as leather. I am glad I did not find out after serving to guests. Obviously from a very old cow.

Ive always have gotten great service there, but tonight, they went above and beyond. I got there about 20 minutes before closing and figured I would buy out of the freezer. What I wanted was not in there so they had to cut it fresh. Everything was cleaned and put away and almost everyplace Ive been to would tell me they have already tore down their equipment for the night and not provide me service, not PRB, they put all back together again and cut me a half a pound of bacon.

Weve been coming here for almost 2 years since we moved from California. We were looking for a reliable place to order bones for our monthly supply of bone broth. Its comforting to know that their products are sourced locally and responsibly. We call ahead whenever we are in need and they always prepare our order on time. Love and appreciate places like this!

Theyre very friendly to regulars like us and newcomers alike and its good to know the meat is being raised as humanely as possible, plus it puts any other meat out there to shame as far as taste goes.Go here on a special occasion or go here every week, and youve possibly never made a better decision.

Awesome staff that is friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of high quality, local meat. Plenty of other goodies like cheeses, stocks, and jerky. I recommend trying their 50/50, half ground beef half ground bacon!

You are getting what you pay for. While it is very pricey, you’re purchasing local(ish), high quality meat. Staff is knowledgeable. You may want to call ahead to ensure they have the cut you are looking for.

Ive given this place multiple chances and the quality is just poor. Just bought a tri-tip and a whole brisket. Youd be MUCH better off spending a little extra on specialty briskets from reputable suppliers. Tri-tip was ok. Ive had bacon, sausage, dino ribs, and more from here....and for the money, a local butcher is FAR better. Really tried to support them and find something to brag on for the past year because theyre local to me. Do better yall.

CHEESE!!!!! This place is great for a ton of reasons but honestly the cheese lady is the best thing here! She did our wedding meat and cheese boards for us and will help you pick from her great selection that she constantly changes. Cant say enough about how great she is and we will be so sad to leave in a few months....really just a great spot overall.

I really cant tell you why their meats taste so much better than any others, even local grass fed meat at other places, but they really do. I highly recommend their bone-in pork chops.

My guest wanted lamb for Thanksgiving. Im not a fan of such meat, but wanted to accommodate their wishes. One of my guest took over the full menu preparation, to include recommending Porter Road Butchers.The lamb shoulder was a beautiful cut of meat. My guest prepared it in a crock pot as she worked on the other courses for our feast. Fresh turnip greens, mashed potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, brussel sprouts, hot rolls and a blueberry cobbler topped the evening.Thank you, Porter Road Butchers for the best lamb Ive ever experienced. Good service. Good place to get some speciality items. The only and most important downside is the expensive cost but that comes from East Nashville location. Needed duck breast and PRB was the only one available but was it at a cost. Double the price of Houston’s in Mount Juliet. $18 to $36...pretty excessive. Any place in Nashville will be expensive.

The Beef is amazing, I finally found skirt steaks that bring me back to the steaks I remember growing up. And the hamburgers and hotdogs are just as good. And you must buy the 2lbs of Dry-aged ground beef for a great meatloaf, They have a deal going on now, Buy $50 and receive 2 lbs free of the Dry-aged ground beef. And what really sealed the deal was the shipping charges $5.00 regular ship and $10 for express and the meat is sealed in a Green Cell Foam that is biodegradable. My wife and I have been getting pasture raised, grass-fed meats and sausages from PRB since day one. The guys at the shop are absolutely the most knowledgeable and passionate butchers youll find, not just in Nashville, but probably on the planet. You know they love good food from the moment you walk in, and you know they love their customers as soon as they say hello.This weekend I attended the hog butchering demo they do every month, and I had so much fun. I learned a lot, not just about how to cut up a side of pork, but also a tremendous amount about how these happy pigs are raised and treated. I am hooked for life!

They are all about the meat here. In-House meat cuts and sausage, curated selection of bread and cheese. The staff is knowledgeable and gives good suggestions (and samples). Note that it is not on Porter Rd.

Actually, I highly recommend this place not just for meats they have, but they have dog bones here. So much cheaper and the real deal then what you get at dog shops like Petco or Petsmart.
