The best art supply store in the area. My husband and I drive from Bowling Green to get supplies from here because of their vast collections of great quality products. Definitely the place to go for art supplies.

The first time I visited Plaza in Nashville, it was uniquely positioned... between the Nashville Rescue, three sex shops, an industrial butcher, and the freeway. It is still uniquely postioned.... between the Nashville Rescue, three microbrewies, Jack Whites music studio, and the new Division Street overpass. The city and the neighborhood have changed; Plaza has not.There is a vibe. Theres a great feeling when you walk into a business and you dont even have to to ask, you just know that the people that work here and the product or service that is provided here are in sync; there is Synergy and Purpose and an Eagerness to Share Knowledge and especially Hospitality. Walker Lumber & Hardware, Parnassus Books, Monells, Rosies Twin Kegs.I buy things that I dont need at Plaza because I get caught up in the experience of being surrounded by beautiful tools that push my imagination into the ludicrous ambition that I might be able to create beautiful things with them. I buy these things because I Know Ill Try to use them. A pencil. A brush. A canvas. What could I do? How could I not try? .... and I would never have tried if I hadnt walked into that hidden warehouse behind the Nashville Rescue between the sex shops and the butcher to look for some drafting paper over 20 years ago. I keep going back, I tell myself I need a pencil...

Convenient location to Broadway, Charlotte, and Church. WELL stocked in popular brands and items. I even picked up a set of NeoColor II water soluble oil crayons(?) And yes... They are competitively priced. I found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of parking. Wheel chair access. What more do you need in this digital age when youre craving creative, INSTANT gratification?!?! 😃

The staff here is extremely helpful and patient. I was liking for paint pens and the woman encouraged me to take my time and test them out. It was closing time and she never made me feel rushed. I appreciate good customer service. I will definitely N returning to the Plaza soon!!

I went to Plaza Artist Materials today. They were super helpful. Parking was free, which is always a bonus downtown. They are near the Nashville Rescue Mission so I was a little hesitant going by myself, however their parking lot was both extremely clean and secure. They answered my questions and helped me sort through paint colors to find a good replacement for the color that they were out of. I am thankful to have a local art supply shop.

I went to Plaza Artist on a recommendation from an alumni I meet at another frame shop. I wanted to get a diploma framed for my parents and wasnt having any luck finding what I was looking for, at a good price. I went to Plaza Artist and they had a great selection of frames and mats. Gavin helped me determine the look I was going for and pick out everything!About a week after ordering Jay called and the manufacturer hadnt sent my frame so, I went in to pick a different one (in order to get it for Christmas). I went in the next day and Gavin helped me again. He actually picked the frame I ended up going with and I like it better than the first one I ordered! The finished product is awesome and I know my folks will love it. Im planning to go back in February to get my copy framed! Thanks Gavin & Jay!

Great store, huge selection of products. Love coming here. The prices are actually better than big box retailers. They have great deals and sales all the time. Very helpful staff and super friendly unlike other stores these days.

After calling to inquire about any leftover boxes from canvas shipments, I worked with an associate who went out of her way to hold the box for me until later that day. No purchase that day, but she got me as a customer for life going forward. #customerexperience

Great artist supply, friendly helpful staff, stocked with even some of the harder things to find in my medium. Ill go back because they carry what I need, Ill enjoy the trip because of the friendly staff.

Recommend Blicks or Jerrys Artarama over Plaza Art Nashville store! After driving 45 minutes downtown and accumulating approximately $100 in Gamblin media I ask to use their restroom. After some resistance and having to insist - I finally got their approval. Walking to the back area in search of the restroom, I inquired again (different person) and was told their President issued a policy of restrooms closed to the public and got some resistance again. Really, adults asking to use the restroom and you get this? I walked out, leaving $100 product and not shopping any farther! I WILL NEVER VISIT OR PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PLAZA ART. And brick and mortar retail stores wonder why people shop on line or stop purchasing from them.Pretty pathetic!Unfortinately Jerrys Artarama got hit by Tornadoes last year and hasnt reopened. It been better in Plaza Art took the hit - theyre more desiring.

Plaza is a cool in-person store. Lots of creative space, good supplies and prices... but their staff is really phoning it in.Ive read about this specific location promising to pay artists for teaching classes, then just forgetting about it and never paying them for their time.And now, my wife and others have ordered from them, only to have their orders forgotten for a week. And then they treat them like dirt when they reach out for a refund.I wouldnt go to a McDonalds that treats people like this, and I definitely expect way more from my local art store than I do a McDs.Go elsewhere or order from Amazon, cause sadly Plaza has decided they dont have to try anymore.

Its great to have such a well and diversely stocked art store in town.

Just stopped in to buy acrylic paint and wasn’t going to ask for help but a nice older gentleman asked if I needed assistance, I said yes and he was so helpful in describing which paint to get for my art and I appreciated it! Thanks guy I didn’t get the name of!

Best Art Store in Nash!!

Staff were very friendly and selection was pretty good. Its a large store that covers many styles of art. Prices are fair and Id probably be a regular if I lived in the area.

Went here for my very first time an got everything I needed for my projects also the staff was very helpful and nice definitely going back for stuff if I need anything else

Went in today looking for some pretty specific items. Patrick was a huge help! He went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed for my project, and for a fantastic price. I highly recommend this shop and have no doubt that you will find everything you need in this clean and friendly store. I will be returning!

Update:Recently Plaza Has updated their attention to artist support and their inventory has incrementally upgraded. Thank you for taking notes.05/01/17Rudimentary art supplies and over staffed with lack of primary customer support, acts like a corporate business with out the need to attend artist needs and is taking for granted their independence without competition of other art supply stores. They need to step out of Nashville to understand the new talent theyre missing to connect with.

Painting is a passion for me. I depend on Plaza as a major part of my support system, buying my supplies there because their inventory is vast and they price match anybody. If they dont stock it, they can likely order it. The staff is so knowledgeable, I am always awed. The manager & office folks are friendly and helpful, as well. And the classes are taught by top-notch artists. Whats not to like?. Downtown traffic, maybe. Go drive through Atlanta and youll realize Nashville has no traffic.

Nice place, really nice people working there. Wide variety of art supplies for relatively cheap. Only spent about $13 on a new book and some pens.

As an artist and painting instructor, my need for supplies is seemingly never-ending! This establishment is my most trusted supplier, and I refuse to go anywhere else! Simply put, this is the best of the best!

Nice shop! We go there for Origami Club every month and enjoyed the Origami club as well as the shop. So many activities going on ... Nice place to shop around for Art Supplies.... & they do have lots of Arts class...

Have a big selection, and people have always been nice to me! However this summer I had something matted (4 pieces almost 100$) for which I was just given four frames cut from the board (no backing?, art unattached) of which some cuts were crooked. Couldnt return because I was in a time crunch for a show but I was disappointed. Ive gotten them attached and with backing here before without requesting that specifically, so Im unsure which is standard? It seems whenever I go in the person doing the matting has been unsure how to do it. :(

Incredible place to go to restock on supplies. Large array of ideas in every aisle for the arts and crafts fellow. This is a go-to place and usually spend half and hour when I stop by. The kids love it here.
