I came here thinking my car speakers were bad and needed replacing. Bruce was very helpful, he figured out the problem!He spent time explaining to me what was happening and how to avoid further issues.I didnt have to buy new speakers or replace anything.This place is great. Excellent customer service and very fair.Will return for any car audio or lighting needs.

Sound Concept has worked on all my cars. They do excellent work and are very trust worthy. Just recently, they installed a Viper alarm system, new radio that fit perfectly as if was from the factory and a custom installed Escort radar, which looks beautiful. Google wont let me add a second review for another visit, so I am editing my previous review to include the second visit...OK, so I came back to Sound Concept of Nanuet for another installation, this time installing a new fan for the back seat in my car to improve airflow. Bruce took me at a moments notice without hesitation and offered a fair estimate - not a lowball, and nothing that would suggest overt extravagance. I bring all of my cars to Sound Concept for electrical work; I keep my cars very well-maintained and up-to-date, as a professional driver, and Bruce and Jose of Sound Concept of Nanuet are my go-to-guys. Wonderful service.Previous Visit: Love these guys! Bruce and Jose did a beautiful installation on my 2013 Toyota Prius, including several devices which I will note; everything is seamless, and the wiring invisible. OK, so what did they install? Autovox X1Pro Dash Cam Mirror (smart mirror w/ Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and full-time DVR video recording, on the front windscreen; Escort Max 360C Radar Detector; VicOvation OP/A Dash Cam for full-time interior recording in the cabin; Garmin 5 GPS Map as alternate in case my phone dies; Rexing V2 dash camera in the rear windscreen for rear collision observation; Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablet, mounted on the transmission shifter; and my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Pricing on the installation was inline with my expectations, and I paid in cash. I love it! Checkout these pictures!

A few years ago when I got a new iPhone that no longer had the headphone jack, I sent my son there to find out what I have to do to get my phone to play music (I had an old style iPod adapter in my 2000 corvette). Rather then sell me some expensive upgraded system, he told my son that we could probably get a $20 adapter on Amazon and it would solve the problem. That’s what I did and it’s been working fine for years.Recently I purchased an old resto-mod pick up truck that had been restored years ago.The updated sound system had a iPhone/headphone cable adapter already installed, but the system didn’t sound good at all.I Went and introduced myself to Bruce. He’s a car guy for sure. He looked at what I had and recommended he install 2-6” x9” speakers in a carpeted box to match the truck’s interior. Result-system sounds great! Same radio, same front speakers. Just the addition of the boxed speakers brought the system to life.As a small business owner myself, I can appreciate his honesty and the “hands on” approach. it’s a pleasure to find someone like Bruce who is knowledgeable about the products he sells, and is on site while the work is being done by his men.If you are looking for professional service at a fair price, I recommend Sound Concept.

We had a problem in that our radio stopped working and the attention we received at Sound Concept was both highly professional and attentive. They answered our questions and even offered suggestions that I could attempt that may solve the problem at no cost. That effort was not successful but the necessary repair was done in a timely and professional manner at a price we found more than reasonable. I must highly recommend Sound Concept for any audio needs anyone may have.

I have been a Sound Concept customer for nearly 10 years and throughout those years I have trusted Sound Concept with several of my cars. Undoubtedly, they do good work. However,  I cant in good conscience recommend them or continue doing business with them because of the suspect business practices of one of the companys owners, namely Jose. Integrity and honesty is everything in business, and loyal customers account for something. I was planning and pricing out a car stereo project with Jose and noticed that one of the products that he was highly recommending was priced very high. Trusting him,  I didnt think much of it at the time,  but I decided to source the product out elsewhere in order to save a few dollars. Was I in for a surprise!: Jose was trying to charge me an extra $200 over the retail price of an item! Why,  you ask? He seemed annoyed when I questioned him on that,  but explained that he charges that premium because he stands behind his product, but that if I dont buy the product from him,  at his inflated price, I am on my own if the product ever fails. Further,  hell have to charge me to remove it from my vehicle as well. And thus died my trust in him and the business he represents.  My advice?: Beware!

Total sleaze, bait & switch. He gave me one price over the phone for installation of a stereo (I gave a precise model number and he claimed to be familiar with it), then an hour later I go in and he starts listing ridiculous reasons hes going to charge me nearly double the price he quoted. One of the more entertaining examples: He wanted an additional $30 just to install the microphone that was included with the stereo -- a single wire that plugs in easily, which basically a 5 year-old could install. My advice is to keep away. These people are a prime example of dishonesty in the automotive field.

10/10. They are PROFESSIONAL TECHS! True may not be the cheapest around but i highly believe in “you want high end quality you pay for that. “ The owner Bruce is 100% honest and super knowledgeable. Jose too! And the whole staff! They will absolutely get my business from here on out with anything i may need with my audio system in my car.

This is hands down the best stereo shop around. I wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else. Bruce and the team are so knowledgable and can pretty much do anything you want. You get what you pay for, and with these guys, you get top notch quality work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

People were friendly, did a great job, except the carpet was moved a little over my trunk lever.. but that was easily fixed i had a sub and an amp installed still see no wires... Highly Recommend to anyone looking for some car audio installations

Jose and Bruce installed the sound system on my bike and it sounds amazing. I have an exceptionally loud exhaust and Jose was able to tune the system so that i can hear it clearly even at highway speeds!

Bruce the owner of Sound Concept is an honest guy that gives an unbiased recommendations on your car stereo.If he sees that its unnecessary for you to spend money he will tell you the truth.I havent seen anyone treat strangers walking in with fast accurate helpful advice in a long time.You dont see much of this these days.He does remote start and will fix your car remote and solve wiring problems with a smile.Hell come out of his store and take a look at your car in person and truly cares about people.Great guy and great store! These guys are the BIGGEST scam artists you will find out there. I wouldnt doubt it if the only positive reviews on Google are from people who have either worked there or are friends with the owners. They are WAY overpriced and you are better off going anywhere else. Bruce, the owner, as well as the other employees are arrogant and unhelpful. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Bruce saved my family vacation! The wires on my RV were connected wrong, no thanks to Camping World in Kingston. Bruce was able to find & fix the problem and he didnt take me to the cleaners!

Went in to ask about a new radio installation, or aux port installation because my car does not have an aux port. Prices were outrageous. For a basic radio and install- $200, to simply install a standard 3.5mm aux por-$275. I took my business elsewhere

Im DIY type of guy. Why pay someone for rudimentary work if you can figure it out by doing a little research. Anyway I was trying to install a sound processor for about a week before I was at my wits end. I just couldnt get it right. So I called sound concepts Nanuet to see if they would help me trouble shoot even though I didnt buy it from them. A shot in the dark I know. But like I said, I did all I could do. Jose picked up the phone and I explained my situation. We talked a good 10 minutes troubling a device  I did not buy from them. The only time he said bring my car in was at the end of the conversation when he said if it doesnt work you can bring your car in. The shop scored major points with me because so many shops want you to come in and wont spend any more time with you than it takes to get that point across. I took the steps on my own but it didnt work, so I brought my car in. Once there, Jose spent at least a half an hour  talking about what I did and what needed to be done. The price quote wasnt the cheapest but from the conversations we had, I felt the knowledge was there to do a proper install. While waiting in the waiting area a female came into the shop and with an issue the shop couldnt do. Rather than take the job and screw it up,  The owner Bruce took about 15 minutes explaining what needed to be done courteously, and pointed her in the right direction to get it taken care of. The shop is a real stand up shop. Getting back to my install. The install was clean and correct. They even fixed other little small non-related  install  errors, not directly related to the processor  install. Their overarching theme is it has to be installed right. And it doesnt seem like its just a way to  get more money, its  real. Having some knowledge with running RCAs, installing amps, speaker etc, I was surprised about how much cleaner their installs are.  Soldering wires? Please, twist and electrical tape for me. I asked Jose is soldering really necessary, and he explained the reason why it is. Ill be soldering my connections in the future.They got a repeat customer with me when I need em. Bruce opened the shop in 1980. Jose has been working there since 1997. What is that experience worth? Give them a shot. Or you can go to one of the cheaper shops that Twist and electrical tape.

Bruce and team installed pioneer Avic 8400 nex in my 16 runner, couldnt be happier. Price is fair and cant beat the quality of installation.

Rip off. Went in for an inline fuse holder and fuse. No prices on products and when asked, threw out a random price. I guess business was slow today and he wanted to make up for it. Against my better judgement, i bought it cause I didnt want to wait on ordering it. Total of about $18 on Amazon and he charged me $40! Will NEVER go back. Its obvious why there are no car audio stores left. Buy Online!
