Wanted to get an eyebrow waxing but I didn’t have an appointment so I was asked to come back in a few minutes they would have someone free for me. This is understandable so I did and another woman asked me what I needed so I told her...she didn’t do anything to help me she just stood there. I felt ignored. Then a young lady came in and helped me (by this time I have been waiting 30 minutes). She was going to take me but then she was talking another associate in a quiet manner in front of me, so I felt uncomfortable because I think they were talking about me. After all that she later goes that they cannot take me right now and that I can come back in the afternoon... waste of time. Lesson learned, won’t come back.

I have been making appointments here for 10 years. I am very satisfied not only with this salon, but my hairdresser. She’s awesome and I always ask her opinion about my style with each visit. I seem to change what I wanted after speaking with her. “Carol” always has time for my “additions” once I arrive. A shout out for Carol K. She is awesome and multitalented!!

This salon used to be great, but that was a long time ago. Terrible customer service, understaffed, employees ignore you, with a few exceptions ( last time, the hair stylist named Chad was the only one who was attentive and kind). I used to go there all the time for a haircut and other treatments, had great experiences with hairdressers who, unfortunately, don’t work there anymore. I just didn’t like the results nor the experience last time. The professional called Lauren was rude and wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing. More than once, while applying color to my hair, she let parts of the hair fall on my nose, lips, eyes and forehead, not taking any care of the stains the dark color left on my skin. The haircut was bad, the ends were uneven in the back and I only noticed that when I got home. She seemed impatient and not caring even when I was trying to be nice. Don’t recommend this place.

Today I had an appointment with one of the stylists but he did not show up at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, SC Fortunately for me there was another stylist to do my color and haircut. One of the best haircuts I have had in a while. Suzy did a great job. She listened to everything I had to say about the style I was looking for. She went over and beyond. A++++ Thank you Suzy.

While on vacation, I decided to have my hair cut and highlighted. I walked in and Kim was available. She did an outstanding job on my hair. She was very precise and meticulous. Love the cut and color! I would definitely plan another trip (3 hours) to see her again! Kim rocks!

Waited a half hour to find out that the lady they placed my daughter with to cut her hair had an appointment in 15 minutes. The receptionist took my name and number and didnt tell me anything when I walked in so I had to track down someone to even find that information out.Then the lady they wanted to cut my daughters hair, in a 15 minutes window for a girl with curly hair, asked if my daughter could even brush trough her hair and that its tangled. No maam, its really not tangled but she didnt use product today to smooth her curls because she was getting a haircut.Also their chairs when you walk in are the dingiest things Ive ever seen. Your haircuts arent cheap, why does your salon look so cheap?

I’d give this place a zero if I could. I got a terrible haircut because the stylist decided to do what she wanted instead of doing what I had asked. She cut my hair extremely short to give me “volume” she said. She never asked me if I wanted volume. If she had, I would have told her no—I chemically straighten my hair to get the volume out of it. My hair grows so slowly (I only get my haircut about once every 10 months) that I had forgotten that I should’ve asked her to show me where she thinks my shoulders are, because that’s where I wanted her to cut it. Instead, she cut my hair chin length in the front and about a quarter of an inch from my hairline in the back. I have never had short hair. I have never wanted short hair. Now, because of going here, I have short hair. I don’t have the face for it and I hate the way it feels. I especially hate the draft on my neck.I had to take my glasses off for the haircut so I literally didn’t know what was happening until I put them back on. And then I was horrified. Everyone in the salon was horrified for me. They asked me if I wanted to call the manager and I said no, but I changed my mind and called later. The manager called me back to tell me she was sorry I didn’t like my haircut, but that “the stylist is really good.” I was dumbfounded. The manager made a point to defend a bad hair stylist. Since then, several people have told me horror stories of bad cuts and colors from JC Penney Salon at Coastal Grand. I wish I would have known in advance, because I could have avoided this. I continue to be horrified every time I look in the mirror, and the thought of living with this for the next few months makes me sad and angry at the same time. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague.

Not too sure where the negative reviews come from.. Ive been going here for over a year now and cant seem to find a bad hair stylist. Joyce is fantastic, Christina did a great job and lastly, Jessica did a great job. Everyone is always very friendly and makes me feel like I fit right in. Keep up the good work!

If I could, I would give zero stars! This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a salon! I took my granddaughter in for a color correction and the stylist did not know what to do. She had to keep asking some one else what to do. She told us she had never used the product before! She put toner on my granddaughters hair and never shampooed it out. She had purple toner on her skin all around the edge of her hair and neck! The consultant told us they would do a color extraction and then dye her hair a day later. After we paid for the full service, they called us the next day and told us they would not do anything else with her hair. They left her with her hair after the extractor and would not dye her hair! The reason they gave was that she had henna on her hair, she never had henna on her hair! I dont know where they got that idea! We have no idea why they called and cancelled her second appointment! The person that I spoke with was very rude and would not talk calmly with me to explain what the problem was. Do not ever go to this salon. You will be sorry if you do! They dont know what they are doing!

I guess it’s okay but, went there 2 months ago and payed 43 Dollars to get my hair curled and showed the lady how i wanted it but, every time I go there I never get the hair style like I want it I’m disappointed in the lady’s work after I’m friends with her sister.

Came in at 8.05 pm for a trim. No customers were in store. Sign said close at 9 but was told she didnt have time to get to me since she was closing soon. They must have made all the money they wanted for today.

Been going to J.C. Penney Salon for 4 years now. Debbie is outstanding. Moved to Little River and still make the trip down to Myrtle for my hair to be fixed. Love it!

WARNING!!!!! IF YOU ARE NOT CACUSAN THE SALON AT COASTAL GRAND MALL IN MYRTLE BEACH S.C IS NOT FOR YOU!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISCUSSED WITH A BUNCH OF UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE!!! MY FAMILY AND I ARE ONVACATION AND I WANTED TO GET MY HAIR DONE. WELL I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT EXPLAINED WHAT I WANTED AND WAS TOLD TO COME IN. UPON ARRIVAL I WAS ASKED HOW CAN I HELP YOU..... INSTANTLY THE WOMAN TURNED HER BACK TO ME AND STARTED TALKING TO HER CO WORKER WHILE I STOOD THERE. LONG STORY SHORT THREE DIFFERENT WOMAN TALKED TO ME LIKE I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT MY OWN HAIR. THAN TO TAKE IT EVEN FURTHER EVERYONE BECAME BOOKED FOR THE DAY..... AND ONE FOR FREE THEM TOLD ME SHE NEVER DID MY TYPE OF HAIR AND THEN TRIED TO CLEAN IT UP BY SAYING MY HAIR PERSONALLY.... THEN SHE ASKED ME DID I TRY ANOTHER SALON!!!! HOW DISRESPECTFUL CAN YOU BE!!! AND THEN THERE WAS NOT MANGER IN THAT LOCATION SO THEY CALL A STORE MANAGER TO SPEAK TO ME .... TO REALLY SAY NOTHING TO JUSTIFY THEIR BEHAVIOR!!!!! SO WITH THAT BEING SAID STAY CLEAR OF THIS SALON THERE WAS NOT ONE AFRICAN AMERICAN IN THERE BUT MY DAUGHTER AND I. AND BY THE WAY MY BEAUTICIAN AT HOME IS CAUCASIAN AND SHE DOES A GREAT JOB!!!!
