Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and timeliness of these railings. After promising the install would be ready in 5-6 weeks, I began calling at 12 weeks. We continued to be ignored for 18 weeks! Eighteen weeks!! Then owner, Bob French, didn’t provide what we ordered, and he acted so miserably unprofessional that I kept thinking he must be a juvenile! He actually said to me, “Are you going to let this problem ruin your whole life?” Really? His installer, Skyler, is the only reason for ANY stars—he was great. I cannot endorse or recommend this company, and you would do well to go elsewhere.

Absolutely unprofessional and overpriced. Owner Bob French has zero control, or authority over his workers. Bob has even been known to curse and yell at customers! (Read the other reviews here.) His employees are rude, and unwilling to work with you. Not to mention the unbelievable childish behavior. The likes of which I’ve never seen before! I did however, observe sloppy welds, and questionable workmanship on their doors and gates. There are many other iron gate and security companies in the salt lake valley that will treat you with respect, and professionalism. As well as actually give you a product worth the money! You will absolutely get a better deal per linear foot of fencing with other companies. If you’re in the market, I would recommend iron anvil, westernfenceco, carter welding, Rocky Mountain windows, or outback fencing. Thank you for reading, I hope I save you time and a headache with this review!

Ordered a custom garden gate 👍End result, we couldn’t be happier 😃Sure, CSS was busy, so there was a wait. Yes, there was a snag., but the communication was SUPER, the price was right, and the overall customer service was ideal ✅ would highly recommend 🤘Thanks again, Zach 💯

I have purchased 2 security doors on separate occasions, the second door I purchased was not right to begin with, when they installed it, the weather stripping at the bottom made the door stiff to open, I mentioned it to the installer, he said it would get better in time, eventually it came off completely. I called and talked to Bob, he wanted to charge me again to put more weather stripping . After calling Bob several times complaining, he finally came out himself to do the job. I noticed he was not able to get the weather stripping all the way on the door, he left about a foot of it hanging off the end, it wasnt long before the weather stripping was destroyed as well. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY TO WORK WITH !!!

Had iron fencing installed by Cottonwood Security they did a fantastic job. Bob was down to earth and honest, went out of his way to keep us informed about the timing and cost of the project. Zach was extremely knowledgeable and diligent. He did his upmost to try to avoid the sprinkler system. Since my only second language is Japanese and not Spanish, it was nice to conduct business in English and have no linguistic barriers. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cottonwood Security. I was impressed and am confident in both their work and integrity.

Bob French and his crew are great to work with. They are honest people with good work ethics. Their craftsmanship is very good and they really care about the quality of their work. They are also able to do this great work at reasonable prices.Bob is able to think outside of the box and really makes an effort to find the right solution that meet all of my goals (design, financial, beauty, strengtstrength and security) for the project. I have used Bob again and again for myself, our business and referred them to my family and friends.

Cottonwood Security came to my house and gave a bid for refurbishing a rusting security door. Within two days—after I verbally agreed to hire them—they raised the bid by $50. There was no identifiable reason for the increase, they just quickly glossed over it with vague references to “the bottom line” and the increasing price of steel, which was completely irrelevant in my case because they were going to refurbish an existing door. They refused to honor the original bid. The whole situation gave me a bad feeling, as though they were looking for a bit more profit but were careful not to raise the price too much and risk that I would hire someone else. I did hire someone else, and Cottonwood Security permanently lost a customer for $50.

They repaired a handrail on my front porch, while others would not look at it. They were great to work with, prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to use them again. Bob was great to work with. Thanks.

We purchased a storm door from CSS after last falls Home Show in Sandy, and absolutely love it! Bob was very communicative and an absolute pleasure to work with. About one month after install, there was a small issue with the weatherstripping on the bottom of the door. When I called Bob, not only did he say he would take a look at it(he happened to be in the area), he repaired it the same day!

I contacted Cottonwood Security to obtain a bid for a storm/security door and from the beginning Bob bent over backward to accommodate my schedule and make sure that the storm/security door was exactly what I wanted. The installation was extremely professional and the door is beautifully made. I am very pleased and impressed with the service and quality. Thank you!

Almost anyone would do same or better for cheaper.Ordered a security door and paid for half of it in March; it didnt get installed until mid-June. Decent quality, but a similar door from any of the home improvement store wouldve been hundreds of dollars cheaper (and with a quicker install!).Once installed, the screen didnt fit and had to be re-done. The lock box wasnt keyed properly. Was charged full price even though I provided my own door handle/lock. The lock orifice on the door frame was bent, rendering the deadbolt unusable.Save your time, money, and headache and go find someone else. That being said, Bob French was exceptionally apologetic and tried to be as helpful as he could in his situation

Contracted with them March 2017 to build a big driveway gate, install it, and install openers. Was supposed to take 6 weeks. Took about 6 months. No communication in-between. Charged 50% of the job to credit card in March 2017 though, big no no. And, by the way, they sub-contracted the job to different companies and when issues arose they wanted no part of it, it is between you and the sub-contractor they picked. We told them wind is a major concern where we live. Bob French said no problem, we know what we are doing. During the first major windstorm the bars where the openers were welded on bent big time. Called Bob French, took several days to hear back, more days to get someone to come out, and then, get this, asked for more money to fix it. They installed gate openers exactly like Liftmaster says not to install them in order to avoid bending the bar in windy conditions. It is clearly explained and illustrated with big clear pictures in the Liftmaster installation manual. Pointing this out with pictures resulted in Bob French telling me to call their subcontractor and take it up to them. Also, after only a few months many welds were already starting to rust as they were of poor quality and hardware used was of inappropriate size. Half the bolts on the pedestrian gate had snapped off already after less than a year of use. Caps of the posts flew away because they were not secured down. Every time it was an excuse after the next, gave them many chances to make things right and failed every single one of them. Got a real welder to come up to the house and make things right. He pointed out all the major mistakes they had made. I was horrified. Disheartening to see your lack of pride while offering your own community such shoddy work

I have been a long time customer! Three different properties I have had orders. The last order was horrible. I wouldnt write this post BUT when there was a problem I was treated like it was all my fault!!! Happy to fix it at your expense. The doors are horrible I HATE THEM. Great vendor until there is a problem!!! They took my old vintage screen doors, I wanted to keep them. Brought me the wrong doors. They never even cared when I said anything. Didnt even matter! That is it in a nutshell. The story below.1-I am self employed and work at home. So after weeks of waiting one morning I am getting relentless phone calls. I had conference calls and meeting scheduled all day. When the installers showed up at my door I knew what the calls where about.2-Bob said dont worry they dont need your help to install. It will be fine. NOT TRUE. There are questions. I was consistently interrupted in my meetings that I had scheduled for a long time. It was rude to my clients. Not that I didnt want them to talk to me but scheduling in advance is the proper way to do business.3-You needed to be available for the install. DUH!!! They took my old doors I wanted to keep!!! The install did not go well. One door was not what I ordered at all. It was all screens no glass. I use that door during the winter and summer. It is on a laundry room that is very cool during the winter I have to have extra heat in there. So during the winter the door is useless!!! AND I ordered a dead bolt and handheld lock so I can have coded locks. It only came with one cut out. So I had to get a different coded hand held that would not close with the existing metal door.4-I am very easy going and this time it is not a good thing. I was trying to be understanding. I had worked with these guys a long time. I let go that the latches to hold it open where manual not push to hold. I was patient when they had to build a new frame because of the wrong cut outs. I upset about the wriong doors but Bob bullied me. Telling me I was wrong. When he ordered them he was here for a long time we talked in length about the laundry room. I really felt cheated.5-MONTHS...…..MONTHS later after many calls. AGAIN one morning I get a call saying they will be out that morning. I had a tradeshow that day. I asked to reschedule. It was like I was the one being rude!!!! I was so angry!!!6-After another angry call Bob did call me back and was rude that I was upset about paying for the entire cost of the new frame. What you want me to eat the costs OH MY GOODNESS!!!! REALLY!!!! What about my old vintage doors???? It was their mistake to not cut out the locks correctly. I accepted the wrong door and HATE them everyday. Wish I hadnt done that. I paid $875 each for these two doors and I HATE THEM. Plus all the wait. Plus all the nightmares. AND NOW I can pay for the new frames in full!!!! So he was super nice and said I only had to pay for 1/2 of the cost. He will take the loss. REALLY!!!7- I thought these guys were great vendors. I guess that is only true if things go smooth. Once there is a problem. Forget it!!!

A joke of a company! I should have gone with someone else when they no showed on the initial appointment. But I felt like things happen give them a chance. So I met and placed an order. I was quoted 3 weeks until install. 3 weeks go by no one contacts me to install. Week 4 nothing so I reach out. Being told factory delay and they will call to schedule next week. This happens over and over. Now were 4 weeks past the initial 3 weeks. You will have to track them down to hear excuses. And heaven forbid you ask for your product completion date. I was told your damn door isnt done Nice thanks for clearing that up Bob French. Things happen in buisness but this company is a joke. I would never recommend them.

Apparently they think it is okay to block a handicap accessible ramp parking and and going to the store.
