Very Un-U-Haul! I felt the staff could use a LOT of training on professionalism and custom service.I ended up investing 5 times more time for picking up than needed, and the staff here didnt seem to care much about it. They spoke the language and tone I seem to have trouble understanding. Disappointing experience, never had such experience at any other place, hope they understand their business or at least customers understand what their current business is.
Inventory and supplies were pretty good at this location, the guy in the back receiving the vehicles/customer service was something else.I rented a car to move and I lost my phone while moving. When I returned the car, I asked him if it was posible to return the car without a phone. I tried explaining that I didn’t have a phone with me at the time but he stopped me and sarcastically asked how was it possible that I didn’t have a phone to return the car it if I needed it to check out. He also laughter and told me it would be a extra $20 and asked me to read the contract next time.Business is great for them as they have an ideal location, but they should really focus on their customer service.
Excellent customer service. Folks were very patient in handling my UBox and assigning me a truck. Wait times may be longer so plan to come early. Regardless of the wait, service was exceptional. Highly recommend for local moves.
Tried to get propane refilled today and simply told me sorry no refill no matter how long I had been on the line for the service. It was about 6:20 pm and more than 30 minutes before closing. I would give ZERO rate if I have the choice as there is no customer service in this location at all.

Couple of years ago we came here to pick up a truck we reserved online. It was about an hour before closing time and there was a line of 8+ people in the store, but no one at the counter to help for over 30 min. Besides that, when we returned the truck, we filled up the gas tank but they still charged us for gas. This had never happened when we rented from Hoppys in Sunnyvale multiple times.Fast forward to today, Ive already forgotten about that experience, and came into the same location to pick up some packing supplies. Surprise, nobody was at the counter for the first 10+ minutes and a line formed. Customer service was rude as usual.No idea how the company staffs this location. Im just leaving a review as a reminder to myself for the next time I move.

I would have given zero if it was possible, I stopped by yesterday to pick up a vehicle. There was a guy with a cap, very rude and disrespectful. He answered my questions rudely and said I should return the car 3/4 tank. He was reluctant to talk. I opened the car and saw the tank is barely half full. I returned again and another gentleman said he gave me the wrong vehicle. I heard the guy is new, but he definitely hurts the business.
Tried to get propane refilled today and simply ask how many they can refill since there is a limit. Instead I get a rude response from an employee along with an attitude. Also I’m pretty sure the whole limit on propane is BS because the guy in front of me was allowed to fill 6 tanks but I can only refill 4. So I guess if you go make sure you go on a day where the employees are having a good day. Needless to say I left and went to the uhaul in San Jose to get my tanks refilled.
Hi How are you ! At May 10, I go to U-Haul office rent U-Haul The lady tell me total is $60 right now She overcharging me $46 total is $106. I fill up With gasoline then return the car, the lady not honesty let me tell my friend all people online, too bad too bad,
Read some of the reviews and I totally agree of the rudeness of a guy here. We returned the cargo van today. I know my husband. He is very keen and organized on everything. After few hours, a number called me. The guy was in a high pitch right away telling me where is the key of the cargo!!! I was really shocked, I said what? He did not even say he is from Uhaul. He just bursted on me. I gave my phone to my husband and he is explaining that he parked the van to where the other staff told him to and he returned the key. The guy cut off the call! Super rude!!! I am wondering why they are looking for the keys from us and accusing us of other things. I do not recommend this location!!!!
The pits. Horrible customer service. Try to stay away and use other services if at all possible. Surly unhelpful irude staffWho don’t answer questions or help. Left my credit card there by accident and called five times over two days with NO RESOONSE despite leaving messages with the call center and them promising to give messages, the last two times to the manager. TERRiBLE could not be worse.
Not renting from u-haul again. Rude price of snot behind the counter, Im not the one to use this language in reviews, but this price of work whose only function is to give me a key made a point of being obnoxious.Never had a problem before, but I am not using uhaul again after this.
Great experience! The place is clean, organized, and very well run. Frank is on the ball, easy going, has a sense of humor, and is a joy to work with. The truck and car trailer were clean and well maintained, and functioned perfectly.

Customers leaving unhappy, which we just witnessed as well as ourselves.Non-compliant with COVID-19 safety procedures. She didnt care about standing 6 feet distance away from my husband and I. There was a pathway open to walk on the otherside of the isle she deliberately walked in between my husband and I. There were NO floor markers indicating 6 feet for customer safety regarding COVID-19. She couldnt even answer our questions without looking at us and than barked orders at us where to park our car.When we decided we wouldnt give this place our business because of the disrespect and disregard for customer safety and service, we told arlene we were disgusted by her rude service. She laughed infront of her co-worker and a customer and said have a nice day as if she was happy seeing customers walk out. She is a disturbed person, there is definitely some mental or emotional instability there.I will be filing a police report based on non compliant COVID-19 as well as forward my complaint to the county health department for the lack of compliance with COVID-19 and her unruly behavior and disregard for all customers safety. I have done this before with another franchise who thought they didnt have to wear a mask but not after my initial police report and complaint to the Santa Clara Health Department. Hope the owners learn from this and discipline their employee.
I had a great experience. I had reserved the truck before my visit. Receiving the truck and dropping it off was very fast. The truck was in good condition and got the job done. I would definitely recommend this place!

With covid-19 going on and people still on edge and After having such a difficult morning trying to get a cargo van at home depot because they do require adittional paper work just to rent a van by the hour (and just to add on here the girl at home depot wasnt friendly) and i left and said no thanks came to u haul was greeted by super nice girl walking inside and made me feel more at ease and it super easy to rent and return and i went on with my day moving and got it done on time. Highly recommend this place.
Got propane here... it is outdoor and got to pay outdoors. Service was quick, but so damn rude. The lady was super short and really really unfriendly. Not that I expect her to be nice, but that kind of rudeness is really uncalled for. I was tempted to talk to her manager.
Terrible customer service! The lady that approached me when I arrived just barked at me to move my vehicle from a space that did not say no parking and pointed for me to move to a handicap spot, which I am not handicapped. There will several cars there that looked abandon so theyre obviously using customer parking for personal storage. I have never been spoken to like a prison guard to a prisoner until today. Never going back.
If you gonna rent a uhual, dont come to this one. They will keep you wait for an hour and hide in their back office to annoy you! They are slow AF.
Horrible costumer service the staff is not very friendly not very helpful it seems like they dont even know what their job is and almost every u haul I have ever rented from seems like this. The workers are miserable and unhappy they dont care to answer a question they dont care to greet you or anything i walked in the guy is on the computer I did not asked him for help or anything I said hello he looked at me and looked back at the screen after a few awkward minutes of silence he said someone will be with you ahortly. Nobody ever came i asked a question he said did I call the 1800 number and then I left
Was greeted by a nice young lady and waited for her co employees no name tag but he was not anything appreciated I reserved a tow trailer before and this guy wasted my time and wore out my patience telling me my car isnt compatible and not allowed to rent to meHis lack of service and people skills and conflicting interests and unwilling to correct his data on my cars specs.This will be the last time I will consider this location or when this employees isnt a option for services no ppl skills do not belong in the front offic they belong in the back yard and no contact with customers
Good service, nice stuff. Went for a hitch installation and it was fast.Reason for 3 star is the reservation system: booked and prepaid online. They leave me a voice message the day before at closing time that my appointment is canceled and I need to call back. I call back, if they do not answer after a few rings or if they are already closed it goes to a central call center. Similarly to the online reservation system, they book me for another appointment the following week. Again this one will be cancelled with a voice message the day before. So I realize that this location does not properly use the central booking system (both appointments were actually scheduled outside their installation time window) and I start calling them until they directly reply. Once I book with them directly my reservation is confirmed also with a SMS and email that you wouldnt receive otherwise. Another friend had similar experience, so do not book online or over the phone with call center. Only make a reservation directly with them and you will be very happy.
I rented a 10 truck here in October 2019 to help with a move, and I enjoyed the experience overall. The truck was clean, maintained, and drove well, and the rental process was relatively straightforward without any major hiccups or unexpected charges.I give four stars as opposed to five because I was asked for the name and phone number of *another* person, friend or family. To my understanding, there didnt have to be any relationship between the person whose information you provide and the rental itself. I asked the clerk why this was necessary for a reservation, and she tersely told me its required. To me, this read give us someone elses data for [undisclosed purpose], or you cant move today. I respect the privacy of my friends and family, and, unless provided a legitimate business justification for this policy, strongly disapprove of this practice.
Really quick and great service! I would recommend going as early as they open if you are doing a morning move. I went there on a Saturday morning at 9am and by 915 there was a 10 person line behind me. Also definitely worth booking a reservation before hand.Best U-Haul next to the freeway plenty of vehicle options as well

Worst place ever had made a reservation online and when I got there they said they had no reservation for me. Called customer service and they said that my reservation should be in there system. They talk to the employee at the store she said all truck were reserved for that day. They didnt want to rent me a truck had to go to another uhaul. Worst place ever.

The girl who first was processing my rental was so rude. I requested a truck for a day. She responded with an attitude that it’s only available by the hour. She didn’t say that’s their recommendations but insisted that they only rent it by the hour when it’s busy. While she’s processing my rental I declined. She said she already made the reservation. I told her I didn’t even took the keys or agreed to any rental agreement. I went online and made a reservation. I told her I made a reservation online and I found that I can book it for a whole day for same rate. She then went ahead and cancelled my online reservation. Then in a very rude way she said “you can do whatever you like. I’m gonna keep canceling your reservation. If you wanna book it it’s gonna be my way”. I then called customer support to book it AGAIN and was able to confirm that I can book the truck for a whole day. I used the U-Haul share link to process my rental. I went to get my key. She refused to assist me at all or to give me the truck key even though I had a reservation. The manger came and gave me the key but also said that if I spend more than 8 hours I’ll be billed you for 2 days. I said I confirmed over the phone and I have an email saying I have the truck for 24 hours. She said we don’t care we will bill you for 2 days. I told them I’ll complain and request a refund if I get billed for 2 days if I use it for more than 8 hours. She said she doesn’t care and that’s their policy when they are busy. Then they started laughing among themselves like they won or something! This was Unbelievable. That was one of the rudest experience I’ve ever had with any retail place. I wasn’t rude at all. I thought the first girl had a bad morning so I politely asked her how her day was going and I thanked her for taking the time to help me. Nevertheless she was rude. But what annoyed me more is that I can expect a minimum wage paid employee not to be professional but the manger too that was too much. Never coming to this store again and I actually may not use U-Haul again. Mind as well just hire a moving company and save myself the headache of dealing with all of this BS.
Best prices on Boxes and supplies for shipping, packing, or storage. Better than places like Public Storage. Helpful staff, good service.
Warning: stay away!!! Pity I cannot give them negative stars. Called this place looking for boxes, and the associate (Manager) said they do not sell them, try Home Depot. As Ive worked at Home Depot I knew that was false. So I physically went there. Had to wait an eternity to make a purchase. Then I returned with some unused/untaped/undamaged boxes, however they would not give me my money back, would not give me a store credit, or anything else. This place is a complete disaster.
Have to max out the rating here since this is my go-to U-Haul destination. My frequent visits speak for themselves (or is it itself?). I dont care about service or cleanliness. Reserve a truck, have it actually be there when you arrive, have it work, find it in consistently good condition, find it actually quite clean, this location seems to be very well run.
Very common, comfortable place. The counter/sales/customer service people there are knowledgeable and seem to care. Now, most truck rental vehicles are aging, a little beat up and well used or worn. Little improvements would go a long way.
Used the app, the customer support just cancelled the verification stating that the location is closed while I was inside in the line! (to get a dolly) There was just one receptionist and it took him 30 minutes to process 2 people! When I came to him, he told me that I shouldve just rented from him and NOT used the app, something that they advertise as the preferred way!
Very bad, do not go. the employee, more specifically the female employee there told us there were no truck left to rent. we went on a Sunday, i get it its at the end of the month. More importantly she told us that we need to get a reservation of at least a week in advance, and the only thing she can give us was a pick up . There were a lot of trucks out side. First of all why are you running a business with nothing to offer? secondly the other employee is very busy and seems to be renting out trucks left and right. Thirdly the line was super long, i tried to use the app, and it never went through. When i told her this, she said and i quote: it doesnt matter, because there are no trucks for you. We waited in line for 40 minutes and the line wasnt getting shorter, i would not go there again even if you paid me. We did get a truck a little down the road, with a neighbor hood u haul dealer, right on the spot 5 mins away from there, no questions asked. DO NOT GO THERE! Some of the employees works hard, and some dont even know what they are talking about.
They now have an app so you can rent without standing in line. Super convenient. I did talk to the staff and they were friendly and helpful

While the vehicle experience was adequate, the customer service was atrocious. When we wanted to deliver the vehicle we werent sure how to turn in the vehicle, (because you know, not everyone regularly rents Uhauls) we asked the lady at the front for instructions, she had a nasty attitude. Would recommend finding a different Uhaul location.
No sympathy for small contractual fineprint. We turned in our vehicle on time (explicitly stated time was 6 pm on a Sunday), but we were charged an extreme after hours fee since uhaul closed early that day and we did not “check in.” That process was not made clear to us, and we followed their explicit instructions to fill the gas tank (even filled in extra), return the vehicle in the correct spot, and drop off the keys. We were never told to clean the vehicle but luckily read the text on the van that we would be charged a high fee if we did not. Tried to get them to reconsider the after hours fee since “checking in” was not clear, but was met with the cold shoulder. Seems like trust is not valued here, and I will not be using uhaul again. This place thrives off of blindsiding customers, many who are likely first-timers or tired from a hard day of moving. Do not recommend. If you have a friend who can help, that is a much better way to move. Even movers are better; I’ve never had a bad experience and they’ve always been upfront with the cost. The amount I paid at uhaul with the hidden fees was about the cost of hiring movers anyways. Terrible.

Staff is really nice here. I met with Frank Urick. He is so kind and calm with customers, listens to them so patiently. I didnt book in advance and and just walked in to their office. He ran out of the trucks because of weekend and high demand. I was just turning back to go home. But he suggested me few things and it worked out. Fortunately I was able to get my work done because of him. Appreciate his help.
I came in on a Monday looking for a bike rack trailer hitch for my 2014 Forester. They had the part in stock and scheduled the installation for Wednesday. I came back on Wednesday and the installation took exactly 2 hours, as promised. After shopping around, I came back again on Thursday and walked out with a 4-bike rack. Both parts (rack + hitch) have held up well for 1,000+ miles.Staff was very helpful for all my visits. They were always a bit busy when I went (mid-afternoon), so I usually had to wait a couple minutes before talking to someone. Props to them for setting me up with everything on short notice and at a fair price. (Stevens Creek Subaru asked for more than twice what I paid here for the hitch installation.)
This is the worst experience Ive had with an American business.They did not bother to explain to us the options they have for one way or return hire.When I realized the mistake and called the shop, no one answered the phone. Thanks GM was the only person who had authorization to help but did not answer the phone or call back. As result I had to drive an extra 40 miles and was charged an extra $80. They do not take care of their customers.They were also not sympathetic.Head office was not willing to help either.
Didnt have a problem renting a van from them to do (two) Ikea hauls when I first moved out here cross-country. The price was fair and the service was pleasant. The van was a bit run down, but functional as expected from a utility vehicle.
Don’t come here if you need to refill propane, it’s ridiculously slow because they make you wait in the truck rental line. Just find a gas station or somewhere else that will fill it and save an hour of your day.

Long line on Saturday morning. Waited about 45 minutes to rent the van I preordered. Got charged $100 over the actual price, but went back later and they fixed it for me. In all I do think all the employees were working hard and they were nice.
Extremely rude customer service. One of the cashiers sold me moving boxes and I started loading them in the car. Then the other cashiers came to my car and started taking them off my truck. She basically accused me of stealing the boxes. After I showed her my receipt, she didnt apologise or put the boxes that she pulled back in. She just went back to her register with an angry face as if it was all my fault.
The workers here at U-Haul are really wonderful the real helpful I was able to get the truck that I needed with no problems even though we had a little bit over the time for returning it it was still okay wasnt charged any extra I would use this U-Haul for any services that I would need they have lots of boxes covers for your mattresses theyre great
Was supposed to install a hitch last thursday (apointment obtained online). Got a message tuesday telling me my hitch would be intalled friday. I could not rich them after that. Already contacted u-haul twice to cancel and be reimbursed. No confirmation email yet. No call back.

This is the best Uhaul Ive ever been to and Ive been a customer since 1989. The service is outstanding, the equipment is in perfect shape, and they have a full range of supplies. I have been consistently impressed with this location. I returned a truck after closing time and one of the employees was still in the shop, so he came out and made sure everything was checked in okay, and my receipt was in my email inbox by the time I got home. I rented a pickup to get a sofa and the truck was brand new. I never wait more than a few minutes for anything and all of the employees are sharp, on the ball, and hustle when therere customers around.
Honest staff about their policies, which i really respect. and some experienced advice on how to use their service.
I forgot my smartphone holder on the dash. I have called 3 times and talked to 3 reps, each promising a store employee will call me back. Still to this day it hasn’t happened. Uhaul is a garbage company with terrible user experiences

Understaffed. Always end up waiting 15-30min despite calling in advance asking to prepare access to storage but when get there prep of ubox hasnt been done and need to wait. If storing here you need to have time on your hands. Also looks as if humidity entered my ubox as one of my cartons was humid and shriveled up from water.
Have used several times and always have the same experience. Process is always really straight forward and easy, but it can take a while, so if youre in line it can take a while. If youre doing a 9am pickup, get there 15 minutes early and line up outside the door. The manager is moving trucks around and will try to get you started and have your truck ready to make the checkout even quicker and easier.The only issue Ive ever had is for a dropoff at a different location. Its harder for Uhaul to manage those, so I got moved around to two other stores when the drop off became unavailable at this location.If youre looking to get moving help on the cheap, there are usually some immigrants hanging around the doors looking for a days work. If they all found work for the day, theres also many outside the Home Depot in Sunnyvale a few miles away.
New policy: they request and require you to give them permission to take a picture of your drivers license (both front & back) and then they will upload the photos to their database, so that all of theie employees have access and could steal (sell) your identity, because well hey, they also require a major credit card to rent anything, so there! Bam! If youre a felon get a job there....Your in, to hundreds of personal identities to choose from!!!I called customer service, reached Alabama (really?!) Its their new policy.The worse customer service ever!What is wrong with this company?!Honestly, I dont mind providing my license and go ahead document the info, but a friggen (I prefer the other F word) picture uploaded into their system?!!! BS.Im a lonnnnng-time customer, but NEVER will I walk through their doors again.
Much nicer than Redwood city uhaul location. More stock, nice employees and large enough lot to park. Definitely my best uhaul experience.
Worst service ever. Hung on hold for HOURS on Monday during business hours just to talk to a representative. Avoid at all costs. Really. Youre better off carrying your boxes across the state than dealing with this company.

The invoice I received afterwards stated that I drove 13 miles. The truck I have rented has an average mileage of 10 mpg. It should take around 1.3 gallon of gas. In very worst case scenario, not more than 2. Yet I was charged with fueling of 8(!!) gallons. Additionally, when I asked (prior to renting) whats the cost of refueling, I was told its $4.20 per gallon. Its well above market price, but thats ok, I understand that the convenience costs. I wasnt told there is $30 fee for refueling though! I feel cheated, I will think twice before using u-haul ever again.
Im sure experiences vary, but this uhaul location was the best Ive had across probably 10 or so rentals in my lifetime. The staff was very friendly and attentive, thanks!

There are some overall issues with the Uhaul system in terms of pick up times and locations shifting and depending on when and where another renter drops off the truck that has been reserved for you... but I wont get into that in this review since its not the fault of this Uhaul operation.Regarding this particular Uhaul location, I found it to be adequate in terms of service. I arrived and had to wait about 5 minutes in the empty store until someone arrived. But once they did the person was very helpful and got me up and running and out of the store promptly. Overall a good experience.
We spent an hour waiting in line despite doing an online reservation and express check-in.They were short-staffed and had lost a familys reservation, so they were effectively down to one service counter.After we got the truck, we realized they had marked the fuel down wrong so we had to wait for them to talk to us (because the understandably upset family was still talking to the manager) and then we waited some more for them to fix the numbers in their system.While I was waiting outside, one of the employees almost hit me while reversing a truck. The manager had to yell and tap the side of the truck to get the driver to stop just short of hitting me.At that point, the employee got out of the truck, did not apologize for almost hitting me, and rudely asked me to move.
About what you might expect. Reasonably priced and useful vans and trucks with ridiculously overpriced insurance. Service was pretty friendly. Had to park around the corner, but thats not all that bad.
I went to uhaul to buy a few boxes. They had good service and I ended up picking up one of their wine boxes for a few bottles that I needed to transport.
I wanted to buy some boxes, I paid for them and they refused to give them to me because their “credit card system doesn’t show they charge”. I got charged, money is gone from my back account
My reservation was at 9.30 and its 10.30 and still standing in queue. They just have one person to attend customers on a busy day.Express online doesnt do anything to speed up things.
Pretty ok experience there, but the line is INSANE even if you made online reservation. Wasted an hour before picked a truck.
Service was slow and inefficient. 3 staff working, but only 1 working with customers. So I had to wait 15 minutes behind one family needing a full truck rental and not knowing want they wanted just to get my propane tank filled. Other staff were performing menial tasks that could have waited. Line backed up behind me.

Worst service ever-long queues, slow service, no empathy/,greetings,... And last time after queuing up for 45 mins despite doing booking online.... My truck had no gas at all!. I was also asked to drrop the truck off at a certain time (not what I wanted) because it might be needed - and when I came it seemed they must have said the same thing to everyone...

They dont keep appointments and are extremely unprofessional. When I showed up on my appointment they told the hitch was out of stock and made another appointment for the next day. When I showed up the next day they said the person was not available and said they would call me when he showed up. That never happened.. Extremely unprofessional in incompetent
I rented a pick-up truck to drive to Berkeley and back and return the truck the same day. I told the rep this same scenario and his quote to me was roughly $35 total. I was excited to hear this, and didnt think much of it since I would be returning the truck within 3 hours.When I returned, and wanted to pay, they wrote me up for $130!!! What the Heck! I fought the charges as rediculous, and previous quote was $35. How could the price vary that much? Apparently the initial sales rep wrote down my estimated miles to be 15 to understate my estimated price. However, last time I checked, Berkeley has ALWAYS been further away than 15 miles from Mountain View.What the rep failed to mention was the daily rate of $69.99 which grants unlimited miles. But instead just signed me up for $.99/mile and wrote in 15 miles to understate me and lie. I was furious to find this out after I had used the truck for 3 hours.The next day I called the manager to understand why they had swindled me, and he offered to refund the difference, which only ended up being $32. So in total, my truck cost me $97. Or to put it differently, $32/hr. Still a sham if you ask me.on the whole, I will never use this uHaul again, and maybe never use uHaul again. Instead I might just try to find a ZipCar or Enterprise rent a car instead. However, the manager made this a bit better by refunding the difference.

Understaffed. I waited in line 20 minutes to buy a couple boxes, because the one and only clerk behind the desk was helping people fill out contracts for rental vans.
