Go to another Hyundai Dealer!I bought my 18 Sonata from them about 3 years ago and this past Friday (10/8/21) my car broke down. I had my car towed to them. I went in and informed the service writer why I was there and that I needed to drop my car off so they could look at it. The service writer was rude and after answering all their questions they then informed me that they will not allow the tow truck to drop my car off with them. They never told me why they wouldn’t take it or anything along that lines they just kept saying “We aren’t taking any tow ins. You just need to take it somewhere else.” My car is still under warranty, so the next closest Hyundai dealership is in Auburn. So I had to pay $240 to get it towed to Hyundai of Auburn for them to look at it to see what was wrong with it.If you are looking to buy or getting service work I highly recommend Hyundai of Auburn. They received my car that Friday afternoon and at the end of Monday (10/11/21) they had it fixed and ready to roll.I will never go back to this place nor will my friends and family.

This is my second time having Mr. Son to help me find the perfect car and he didnt disappoint! 1. If youd simply looking into buy a car, Id definitely recommend this dealership. Staffs were welcoming and the price was very reasonable.I bought a brand new car about a month ago, there was no issue with the car and it was a 5-star dealership experience until I let them to put window tint on the car.2. Do not ever try to add any extras the dealership offers you (especially the window tint, IT WILL DAMAGE YOUR CAR).I had to wait about a week to have the windows tinted because apparently the tint technician is a part time and does not work at the dealership every day. The initial tint job wasnt very good, there were several inch-sized dusts trapped inside the side window films and long bloated air bubble streaks in the rear glass film. The dealership promised me to reapply the tint, and I was finally able to get it reworked after visiting the dealership 4 times over a week (because of the inconsistent schedule of the tint technician). After the rework, the tint seems slightly better now but I now see multiple damages were done on the trim inside the car.- Knife cutting lines along the border between door trim plastic and windows (on all 4 doors, suspecting the film was cut on top of the door trim)- Quadrant and delta cover scratch/scuffs- Solution drippings all over the door trim and inside the trunk.Ive taken the car back to the dealership the same day to have them a look.One of the manager looked at it and did recognize the damage, told me that I would be receiving an update to resolve the issue but I did not hear anything from them so far.+After washing my car a day after the re-tint, I also found out that exterior pillar trims are heat damaged. Multiple sections has lost its matte finish and the edges rolled/warped inward.

My parents went looking for a new vehicle and they stopped at Capitol Hyundai to look at different vehicles. They ended up getting the Hyundai Tucson. The staff was great and very helpful with their purchase. My sister and I love the Tucson. If you are looking for a new vehicle I highly recommend going to Capitol Hyundai in Montgomery.

We had a damaged tire on our vehicle. I called in t make a claim on the tire coverage policy that I was sold as part of the vehicle purchase, received approval to either have the local tire shop replace the tire, or take the vehicle to the local dealer, Capital Hyundai. I called to make an appt to have the tire replaced, was given a time of 7:30am to arrive and the tire would be replaced in less than 2 hours. Arrived before 7:30, was told I was a walk-in and the entire approval process for the claim had to start over AND, would have to wait until the tire coverage office opened at 8. If calling ahead to receive a time slot to arrive for service is not considered an appointment, what is? If calling ahead and filing a claim for tire replacement and getting an approved claim number does not work, and the process has to be done AGAIN after I arrive, then what is the point of the customer making the call, as the contract states?We enjoy our new Hyundai vehicle, please know that. Beware of any warranty contract sold with the new car, or service you need done using said contract, as it appears they make the process as difficult and frustrating as possible to discourage any use of this contract.Same goes for the normal oil change service that is included in the purchase of a new vehicle. Simple oil change that I schedule weeks in advance, for the first appt of the morning, takes over 2 hours to complete. My time is worth something, so I can simply pay for service elsewhere and get the service in a timely manner. The service process appears to be designed to discourage use rather than to make the customer happy.

My Santa Fe broke down August 5, I literally had the car for 2 months. Sucks but things happen, well it was towed to Hyundai for a recall on the motor. Well I have called almost everyday for a month and half the time no one answers and when they do I keep getting the same answer “we haven’t been able to diagnose you car yet, we will let you know” I have tried to get in touch with the GM Eric on several occasions but he doesn’t return any phone calls. Today my fiancé called and they told him they just ordered the part today and won’t even start working on our car until November!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I have 3 children, no car and a $469 car note that has to be paid whether I have the car or not!!!

Highly recommend!!!!!! I am very pleased with the solution to a problem with my vehicle. My family bought a new Sante Fe in 2018. We have only put 11,000 miles on it and had a problem that I thought was a balance problem with a tire. After further investigation, we were told that there is a manufacturer defect and the tire was separating. I talked to a couple people at the dealership and finally the GM. He told me what everyone else had, that the tire was not covered. He sympathized with me about the problem though. After consulting the service manager he tells me that the dealership will replace my faulty tire at no charge. I am very thankful for the understanding and would recommend the dealership to anyone.

On 10-5-2021 I brought my 2020 Elantra in because the brakes were making a crunching sound. Like Tristen Bissonettes review below, I was essentially refused service. I was told that they were only accepting repair work by appointment and that they were currently booked 3 months out. The rep did not offer to make me an appointment. A customer comes in with brake worries and is sent back out onto the road? Seems irresponsible and potentially dangerous. I felt very unwelcome. There were several other instances of poor service during the few times I have dealt this with this dealership, including them being incapable or unwilling to order a cargo mat for the car despite it being an available option advertised on the Hyundai website. They argued with us and told us the mat didnt exist. We had to order it from the Auburn dealership and drive there from Montgomery to get it. I regret purchasing my car from this dealership.If you are looking at these reviews for the buying experience - my experience buying the car was fine. Service after the sale is poor. You would think that with the Hyundai factory here in Montgomery, this would be a kind of flagship dealership, but this is not the case.

Initially, I had difficulty securing an appointment for service and repair that was needed. I believe that the service department is too small for the volume of Hyundai vehicles sold in the Montgomery, AL area where the plant is located. The services was as usual, provided by personable, informative, and talented staff. My car was promptly taken into the system upon arrival and the combination repair and service done timely.

My initial appointment with Capitol Hyundai service department was on February 26, 2021, I had an oil leak and after the inspection, it was determined that the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced. I had the repair done and walked away under the impression that the work had been done properly and went about driving my vehicle as normal while continuing with regular maintenance. Fast forward a few months to July 9, 2021, I noticed my brakes squeaking and brought my car to Capitol Hyundai to be inspected. Upon inspection, I was told my front brakes needed to be replaced and my rear brakes were fine and did not need to be replaced. Of course, I had that work done and proceeded to drive my car as normal.One week later, on Thursday July 15, 2021, I had an upcoming trip and while doing a pre-travel fluid check, I noticed my oil level was low. I called that afternoon and spoke with Glenn who asked me to drop my car off the next morning by 8:30 am to have it inspected. I brought my car into Capitol Hyundai service department once again and waited all day for them to give me an update. At 4:00 pm, an hour before close, I was called and told the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced AGAIN, the rear brakes needed to be replaced and my front right axle was pouring out grease and needed to be replaced as well, all issues that were not presented to me a week prior. I was then told they would not be able to do the work because they closed in an hour and would not be able to service my vehicle until the following week. I expressed my dismay and my concerns about traveling with Glenn and my husband called to speak with him as well. Just to reiterate, I had just had the brakes inspected a week prior and the valve cover gasket replaced a few months prior. At this point, all confidence had been lost in the ability of the service department to perform quality inspections, do reliable work and be truthful about the work needed for my vehicle. After speaking with my husband, Glenn spoke with the mechanic who agreed to fix the valve cover gasket by close of business at no cost because the same work had supposedly been done months prior. I picked up my vehicle that afternoon at five o’clock, just as the shop was closing for the day and drove the car home (under 10 miles).On Saturday morning, I checked my oil again just to be sure everything was okay, and the oil level was below the ‘L’ on the stick. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. I assumed it was still leaking. So, I drove my car back to Capitol Hyundai and initially I spoke with Sean Dallas. I explained to Sean what had previously occurred, showed him the receipts, and expressed my frustration. Seans response was 1. There was no mechanic available on Saturdays to look at my car, 2. There was no manager on duty; and, I could not speak with the manager because he was on vacation and he refused to call him, 3. He could not authorize a rental car without manager approval/signature (whom he refused to contact), and 4. He could not authorize a refund on the work performed without a manager approval/signature. So, I was left to deal with the inconvenience caused by the negligence of the mechanic and interact with an inconsiderate, nonchalant service representative who was more concerned with setting up the grill for their employee cookout than assisting customers. According to Sean, the only thing that could be done was ‘to put some oil in it’. Without checking to see if the issue had been fixed, I was not confident that it was a viable solution.This was by far the worst customer experience I had ever had in all my years of working with Capitol Hyundai. And having worked in customer service for over 15 years, I assure you this is not how such issues are to be resolved. I was disgusted and outright in disbelief at this point at the tone Sean took with me. I parked my vehicle and walked over to the service department to speak with someone else. I was then assisted by Paige. Paige was much more pleasant to work with...(word limit exceeded; complete review in attached photo)

I only gave them 1 star because Google wouldnt allow me to leave a review without one. I would NEVER EVER in life waste my time with Capitol Hyundai again. I purchased my 2018 Hyundai Sonata brand new off the lot. Because of my preapproval, the process was smooth and easy. I honestly had no complaints until now. I did not have any problems with Capitol Hyundai-Montgomery when I purchased the car. They literally, and I mean LITERALLY, had sugar falling off them for that sale.My car has routine maintenance regularly. Now, I’m constantly having to put oil in my car, which I assume is from the recall. At least that is what I have been told. Now, if my motor was to lock up because of a recall; I will be without a car. However, I get it. That’s not Capitol Hyundais problem because they have made their money. I contacted the service department today to get my car serviced and to possibly get the issue handled. I was unable to explain the issue to the lady (I didn’t get a name) that answered the phone. She did not allow me to get a word in. She went on to say they have over 100 cars that they are working on and are not taking any walk-ins. If you look up rude in the dictionary, Im pretty sure her picture is right next to it. She transferred me to a manager (that I didn’t ask for) who I assumed was busy because my call went to voicemail. Recalls normally happen, I get that. What makes the situation bad is how the dealership is handling the issue.First and foremost, it is a way you talk to people. If you were going to be rude you could have stayed at home. I need that same energy in the service department that the sales associate had when I purchased my car.

I will never own another Hyundai. We have owned four(4) now. We had an appointment that was set over 5 weeks on yesterday at 8:30 a.m and they did not even get my vehicle looked at until 12:30. They did not address the most important issue, which was oil consumption. They said it did not meet the criteria to be tested. We they were made aware of the unexpected oil issue, they did not even tell us about the recall on the specific engine until my husband called them out on it (as it was not made public).

The technician was great; however, Id like to make a suggestion for outprocessing. The customer must first go to the service department to get a technician to get the paperwork, walk the customer to the cashier, and then the customer pays for the service if applicable. Has any thought been given to providing the keys and paperwork to the cashier after the technician and mechanics have completed their processes so the customer wont have to go back the service department before going to the cashier? Logistically, this revision may make the process flow smoother.

I submitted information online in regards to wanting to purchase a Palisade or a Santa Fe. I was contacted with quickness by Noel & he was amazing from start to finish. He stayed in touch and Got me the perfect Hyundai vehicle with the perfect deal that worked for me. I was skeptical at first of what car company i wanted to purchase from, but even with my confusion on which vehicle type worked best for me, Noel easily swayed me towards purchasing a Hyundai over anything else. We got everything done within a week! Everything moved quickly and smoothly, especially with the help of his amazing manager Shaun. He is a manager that was heavily involved from start to finish, he takes his time to know every customer that walks through that door. I received the best treatment and service from these two guys. The finance manager was also very knowledgeable and walked me through all of the extra protection Hyundai has to offer with ease. Whole experience was great.

We recently purchased a Santa Fe at Hyundai Capitol dealership with a salesman named Sean Son. He was very helpful in every aspect of car buying process, especially for a new couple buying their first car. It was a very busy Saturday and the service department would pull him away once in awhile to translate for other customers, but he managed everything professionally in a calmly manner. And he still had a sense of urgency to help us and others promptly. He definitely understood the value of his customers’ time. He had multiple customers to help, but he gave his time and attention evenly to each customer. He was very personable, communicative and patient. Sean’s desk was covered with previous awards and recognitions and we now understand why. I hope he receives Salesman of the year for 2020 and more.

Customer service was bare minimum, the receptionist did not book my appointment even though I called two weeks ahead. I was told that an appointment does not even secure that I will have my car serviced at that time. I brought my car in at 10 o’clock and it took 20 minutes for someone to even check me in 2 hours later and I still had two cars ahead of mine. I had to leave without my service done, very disappointing especially when I pay for all inclusive services.

Stay away from Capital Hyundai of Montgomery. We have a 2015 Sonata that has used up to 2 quarts of oil a month. We were made aware of an engine issue with this model year and when we contacted the Montgomery dealership, we were told nothing is wrong with the engine. Those engines just run hotter and it causes it to burn more oil. Its normal. Months later, after the oil consumption got worse, we had a local mechanic look at the car. He run a scan and the car came back with the engine code that showed the engine was bad. We contacted Capital Hyundai in Montgomery again and was told the code was the code that they needed to replace the engine and to make an appointment to bring the car in. We made the appointment, took off work and took the car to them. Once we got there, the service writer looked at the vin # and said nothing was wrong with the car. The vin was not on the bad engine list.He would not accept or check it. We asked him to run the scan on it at least to check the codes. He refused and basically told us to leave. Now, months later, the engine went out. We decided to call Hyundai of Gasden to check on any possible engine problems with our model. We did not trust Capital Hyundai of Montgomery. Good thing we didnt. Gasden immediately told us the vin # absolutely was on the engine replacement list. They are paying to have it towed from Millbrook to Gasden, over 130 miles away, and they are paying for a rental till we get the car back. Something Capital Hyundai of Montgomery should have done, but was to sorry to do. For those that see this post share, share, share it and maybe we can prevent another victim from shopping there. Do not give Capital Hyundai of Montgomery any of your business.

They do not communicate very well. Had my car 2 wks for recall, first 3;days I called to check with them they didnt know where my car was, who I left it with or why it was there. Kept saying it will be ready tomorrow, they would call. To no avail no phone call and I believe they didnt even do the check for recall because I received no paper work to show it was done and said nothing but heres keys when I said I was in parking lot. I wouldnt refer anyone to them at all. No courtesy within their employees.

My 2015 Hyundai Sonata was getting an engine replaced due to recall. I just got the car back today (4 months later). My Car had 15 miles of gas in it and on top of that my AC is no longer working. I am so ill about the situation and would highly recommend avoiding any type of business with this Hyundai Center. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a service center.

Bought a 2020 Hyundai Accent. The transmission began acting up and the care quit moving in the middle of the road. The next day called to see about getting it worked on and the lady on the hone was rude and told me it would be a month before they could look at it then hung up on me.Did not take my name. Did not set up an appointment.I realize cars tear up some times. But when you call the service department and cant even get it out of your mouth what is going on and the rude lady yells at you that it will be April before they can work on the car and then never takes your name or anything and then hangs up. Never ever will I by another vehicle from here. I just bought two new cars from this dealership in the past year. My fourth and fifth in the past five years. NEVER AGAIN!. I am an HMMMA family member and you better believe that I will let them know about the rude service department. Its not the first time I had to deal with the rude people that answer the phone at this place but it s the very last time I ever will.

I have bought 3 cars from Capital Hyundai. An Azera and two Genesis. The service in the past has been impeccable! I have noticed quite a change in the past year (pandemic) though I don’t believe this could be the cause. Hyundai needs to hire more people for their service department. I had to make an appointment three weeks out just for an oil change. I want to keep my warranty up with them. But I might have to go to Auburn... where I hear they are sending their Genesis sales in the future. I’m so disappointed. Please make it like it use to be.Loyal customer.

Great and friendly service, these folks make buying a car EASY! We searched high and low for a car that we wanted and this place had it with straight forward pricing. We were able to do all the negotiations over the phone and email, and the car was ready for me when I came to pick it up. You can even do credit check via email so it speeds up the process. We drove 2.5 hrs from mobile and I have no regrets.We settled on a number before we left home and there were no surprises when we got to the dealership. Ive heard horror stories of people making deals on the phone or online, driving long distances and then getting hit with extra fees or mark up on the car just because theyre more invested at that point because of the time it took to get there. NOT THESE GUYS!Theyre running an honest, and up front business with quality products, which I can completely respect in the car business.I worked with Mike Bishop and he was great. 10/10 recommend! My only wish is that they werent so far away, Id love to take my car there for service.

We have waited for 3 weeks for them to fix our Hyundai vehicle only to be told that they haven’t even looked at it, after we were lied to yesterday when we were told they had just ordered the part. This is after several calls to the service manager and GM with no calls returned until a week later. This is the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life!!! We are in the market for a new vehicle and this experience confirms that it will not be from this dealership!!!

It took 2 hours today for an oil change...the technician said it would be an hour. Maybe hour and a half very worst case scenario. If they had just told me 2 hours, I would have had someone pick me up. I feel it is always better to under promise and over deliver...especially when it come to time! There are some very nice people that work there, but I really cannot stand for time to not be respected. Just be honest...we can make other arrangements then if needed. And, yes, I had an appointment (which took over 2 weeks to get in...again, for just an oil change). I’m thinking you guys may need to beef up your staffing...or incentivize more efficient work...

Rated 1 star because I couldnt rate 0 stars. Horrible experience every time that I come. Even the associates working there would talk to me about how horrible the service center is and bad management is. I will not be buying another Hyundai for the service center alone. They will try to take advantage of you and most recent oil change, they asked if they could look my car over at no charge so of course I agreed. Then tried to sell me all kinds of services as preventative. I declined, they kept working on my car. Nothing was wrong with my car when I took it in, no lights or anything. Ran great. I got my car back and on the way home, my warning lights came on. Then every time I idled after service, I would smell a burning smell and my car sounded funny. When I took it back in, they said that I would need to spend an additional 300$ to have a sensor replaced. Crooked as hell. Do not recommend.

I still dont know my service advisers name. Maybe that is because he said, when I finally reached him 5 days after I turned my car in for service, he had called my landline twice. He had my cell and never called it. According to my answering machine, he didnt call the landline either, or left no message.the rest of the service staff was very friendly and cordial when i came to get my car. Im trying hard not to hold this against the company, but it took less time to get my old Dodge Ram 3500 diesel dually checked stem to stern, 6 tires rotated and a couple of belts changed out along with the oil and filters.

There was a document problem with some of the engines in the Hyundai Sonatas. My car happened to be a car with a faulty engine. It was a lot of back and forth with bringing the car in for testing.. The representative that took care of car made the experience very bearable. He answered all of my questions and my engine was replaced in a timely manner. I’m so appreciative.

I really can’t say enough about Noel Goss. I sold cars for awhile and I’m currently still in sales. So I’m generally weary of salesmen especially car salesmen. Noel and Rego our finance manager were awesome. They didn’t hold rate. Got me the best price I could find in the entire state of Alabama and north Florida. A big thank you to Noel for being so professional, easy to work with, and knowledgeable about the entire Hyundai line. He is exactly what you hope to meet when buying a car. The dealership was very focused on sanitation and social distancing. This is a great place to buy a car. Rego was great at explaining our rate, and what our warranty came with. Made my appt for my Santa Fe on Mar 10, 2021 and couldnt get in until Apr.22..It was for my sunroof, so might be the reason I had to wait so long. Took it in at 8am on the 22nd and thankfully it was ready late that afternoon. When I got home, found grease on my side windows and windshield, plus greasy smears on the body near the roof, so they didnt clean up after themselves very well.Had to call the following day to set up another appt as my sunroof was doing the same thing that caused me to schedule the initial appointment and once again, another 6 week wait to get it back in for fixing it.I can say that the staff was very friendly!

I believe they overcharged me because the $114 diagnostic charge was so supposed to go towards the cost of my vehicle being fixed but looking back at receipt, I dont see where they took $114 off. I paid $183.50 for my total cost so $114 should have been taken off of that. I had 2 headlight bulbs replaced. I hate coming here. I only came because Hyundai has rigged their vehicles where you can only take them back to the dealership/manufacturer because no one can get to the parts needed to fix it.

Took 5 weeks to replace a switch in the transmission. Had to drive to dealership to find out what the status was on the car they told me they were backup with recalls. drove there the second time and talked to manager asking why they will not give us status on car he again said they were backed up with recalls, then he said you have a free rental car, so what is the problem. call another dealership to see if I could take it there the suggested calling customer care and ask them. Called them and reported the problem, they said they would get back with us in 5 working days. Never heard from them either. They gave us a rental car from avis (they pulled a scam for pet hair in car and charged us 250.00 to clean out the pet hair that was not there). I have bought 8 new cars in my live time including a 2013 elantra coupe. never had a problem with any service on them, but I will never use this dealership to repair my cars again. If you ever get a car from avis take picture of inside of car with a date on it. I am 73 years old and never experienced so many problems with one issue on a car.

Went for routine maintanence with an appt I waited more than a month to get to. Sat in my car waiting for a tech for 20 mins. I then waited for 2 1/2 hours for an oil change. Forgot to tell them about the washer fluid not spraying, no biggie its part of the inspection. It was not checked I will have to try to fix the problem myself. Ive been here twice for MX help and both experiences have been subpar. Ive decided Im going to have my next MX be mixed with a trip to Birmingham or Auburn. I really dont know whats worse, the waiting for someone to acknowledge my existence or knowing my car was being held hostage. Do better.To be clear the car buying experience was a joy. I guess that is when the care stops.

I purchased a 2021 Kona, yesterday while coming home a car in front of me hit a rock and hit my passenger side tire after that my tire was making a noise when I would brake. I called Capitol Hyundai to make an appointment to have them look at my car. They told me they were booked until April, I understand being busy so I’m supposed to drive my car making that noise and make damaging my car even more? So I called Serra Hyundai in Birmingham which is an 1 and 45 minutes from my house they were able to get me an appointment the next day 3/10/21. I thought the whole point of getting a car from Hyundai was that I can take it to any Hyundai dealer for service. I’m not happy with Capitol Hyundai right now. service is bad!! I even asked to speak with a manager and nothing, I had to leave a message.

Horrible service! If I could give zero stars I would. Never purchase a vehicle from them nor take your vehicle there to be serviced. My car would not start and is still under warranty. They said it would be a few days before they could get to my car but would not provide me with a loaner vehicle. Now I am stranded asking for rides. Why pay for a car I cant even drive.

My repairs just popped up, and I was very nervous about driving without having them checked. I arrived early Monday morning, they worked on my car during the day and called with details. I was able to pick up my car after a long day at school. How great it was to have something nice occur during these crazy times. I appreciate Captiol Hyundai!

I recently traded in my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for an almost new Certified Preowned 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T. Everyone was so helpful and nice. I test drove so many vehicles, new and used, but salesman Mike never got impatient with me or my pickyness. Its the nicest car Ive ever owned and the price was a lot lower than we expected. We were even able to get the full 10-year, 100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty with it. It came with BlueLink, which I have fallen in love with, lol. Questions I had were always answered in detail. They were very helpful with explaining all the features of this car. When I went back the next day to set up my BlueLink service, the salesman even took me out to my car to show me how to use it and to help me with any additional features I didnt understand from the previous day. I am extremely pleased with my new car & will definitely recommend Capitol Hyundai to friends and family.I also have experience with the service department since I had previously owned a Hyundai vehicle. Wait times are always reasonable. They have complimetary coffee, water and popcorn by the waiting room. If you want something else, there are snack and drink machines. Restrooms were very clean, too. I have never had a problem with the service team. They are very polite, helpful and thorough. I look forward to working with them again in the future.
