Great sandwiches and bagels! I think they can definitely improve the logistics of the kitchen because sometimes wait time is ridiculous, and you can clearly see that’s because their work area and set-up is inefficient. However, my ratings are for the great food!

This is one of my go to spots for a quick breakfast. Prices are reasonable and I’m usually in and out. I rarely wait long for my order. My new absolute favorite is the French toast bagel omggg I am hooked and get it every time.

I have a very personal connection with the bacon egg and cheese hashbrown. The breakfast sandwiches at this shop are the best in Essex County, and I have tried many of their competitors!The service can be a little confusing to newcomers, and you might have to ask someone in line if theyve ordered yet. If youre not used to the system, the line gets complicated, and I think they would be smart to invest in mobile ordering. Other reviewers give this place flak for not handling phone orders very well. I agree that this is a problem, and I hope that management figures out a system to deal with these orders more efficiently.There was a period where I came here 5+ times/week, and the entire staff knew my order. One of the women who used to work there would prepare my bagel the second she saw me (sometimes from the line outside), and we would nod to confirm my order!This place is a high school staple, and during regular years, youre gonna wait a while to get served during the HSs lunch period. On weekends this place is always packed to the brim. Everyone in town knows this is the spot and I would buy this business if I could!Pro tip: add hash brown to your BEC and thank me later!

Best deli ever. The freshness is unlike any other deli I have ever experienced. This has been my fiancé and I regularly weekend breakfast/ lunch sandwich place for about 2 years. We are making sure to never move too far.

Came to know about this gem of place through Uber eats as we are new to this area. They open very early and the food is amazing, the prices are very fair for the quantity they offer. Totally recommend the place.

Im a babysitter and for the past few months, we have been visiting different bagel shops. We really liked the service and the bagels were still warm/soft at 1 pm. Not our favorite, but #3. Sorry but #1 is Veronas Bagelwich #2 Montclair Sunrise Bagels.

I come here often and was about to give it a 5 star review, but, they were off today. I ordered a cheesesteaks omlet and it was WAY overcooked. The place was not busy so there is no excuse. They have good pricing and and the employees move like a well oiled machine when its busy. Maybe it was a one time mistake. If so, I will raise my rating.

I love this place, spent most of my college years working here and I have to say, they make arguably have best bagels in the state:They’re cleanly, everything is made fresh almost daily because they sell out so quickly, and there is no line too big for these guys.I moved out of state to Arizona where the bagels are below average and I just received my once a year delivery, it’s a must.

The bagels are great, the staff is kind. They give absolutely no ****s about how many people are crowded together inside at once during a pandemic, whatsoever. My family had to stop going because none of the staff care to simply ask some folks to wait outside. Sucks, I really want to go back.

I just called to order a MSU wrap and the couldnt understand me. 2 calls and 2 people both had no idea that I was ordering a sandwich off their menu. F this place. Great sandwich too.. oh well . Tip. Dont answer the phone if you dont have a clue.

Called and ordered my food. Waited in line until it was my turn on the pick up line. The man took not one, not two, but three men who ordered already before me (I had ordered too if they would have bothered asking) because they walked in and walked past me and I didnt want to make a fuss. He then proceeded to try and take a fourth person without acknowledging me and then I had to say something. When I stated I was next he wanted to argue with me. Not the way you should treat customers at all. We all have our days, but you should pay attention to ALL customers not just the ones you remember from ordering vs the ones that ordered over the phone. This also isnt the first time this has happened and they are always a mess with separating lines. Its very simple make two lines one for pick up one for ordering and have them separated to avoid any confusion... then remember to acknowledge customers and have some simple customer service skills. Unfortunately as much as the food was good they have lost us as customers.

I usually go to this place twice a week but this morning one of the cooks refused to allow me to upgrade a breakfast special which I usually do for a premium with no hassle a little bit of an nonchalant attitude was shown while smirking sarcastically in my face then I purchased more food for the local homeless and more nonchalant attitude.. Usually the service is spot on and cooking has no complaints from me but this gentleman needs some classes in dealing with customers.....

This place over charges when they feel like it. I caught them once and the lady at the register made a big deal over it. GO TO THE OKE IN BLOOMFIELD much better service

The bagels are decent and the prices are fair. One of the better bagel spots in town. Maybe not the best bagel Ive ever had in my life, but theyre always fresh and the breakfast sandwiches are good.Last time I was there, I got a bagel with Lox Spread, tomato and onion. The price seemed very reasonable and then when I got home I realized it was because there was hardly any smoked salmon mixed into the cream cheese. The sandwich was not bad, but I would have liked to actually taste the salmon in it. Otherwise, the other sandwiches Ive gotten were all good.

Asked for a plain bagel and a sesame bagel toasted with butter. The guy who was taking care of my order let my bagels burn and put barely any butter on it. I guess he was more interested in messing with the coffee machine instead of giving me bagels that aren’t burnt.

I love this place. I get a great sandwich everytime I go there. And the pancakes are amazing too. It gets really busy at times, but its worth the wait.

Great bagels, but ownership/management need to read this.This place is horribly unorganized. The service is horrible. Everytime you call, they immediately and rudely put you on hold, then forget you. I was once put on hold and I drove in and 23 minutes later was still on hold. I complained and nothing, was just told what do you want me to do, its busy today.The solution is simple, have an actual line, and have someone responsible to take orders and answer the phone, and delegate people to make the sandwiches.Instead you wait in a mosh pit of a crowd instead of a line, you get called up, someone takes your order and runs off to make it, and the person behind is left confused on where to go. Meanwhile you just ordered and no one directs you to wait on the right.Management, this needs to be fixed. Your place is unorganized. The people try hard and you set them up to fail and the staff comes off rude because theyre running doing everything

The guy taking orders got my order wrong, then got mad at me about it then proceeded to over charge me for his errors. I tried going back to speak to the owner or the boss but its the same guys every day so i guess they are th eowners

Best bagels in Montclair!

I always enjoy getting food from this place but today I found something in my iced coffee that isn’t supposed to be there. When I got home I wanted to add more sugar into my ice coffee and I noticed something that looked like plastic. Frozen into one of the ice cubes is a plastic water bottle cap. Not really sure how that happens but I took a bunch of photos and a video of it. Definitely not something you find everyday in your coffee, has me wondering what transpired for that to even happen.

I present Montclairs finest bagel shop. The name is accurate - at least the first part - Hot Bagels. Most of the time the bag is so hot you cant touch the bottom. Best bagel I have ever had was an Everything that just came out of the oven at this place. Mmmmmmmm!!!

Great bagel shop with very good bagels. I went at lunchtime and it is always busy. They make all kinds of hot or cold sandwiches also. There are plenty variety of bagels to choose from and Manhattan (imposter) Bagel or supermarket (fakes) it isnt its the REAL deal. Enjoy.

Great Bagels, great food. Only reason for the 1 star is because of the staff...VERY RUDE!!! They ignored me for some time, then when I finally got my food they messed up my order and then doubled charged me for bacon...Never again there are several Bagel shops whose food is just as good even better.

One thing that is always notable about Hot Bagels is that no matter how busy it is the staff if pleasant, professional, and efficient. The bagels may be the best in Montclair. There is often a line but it moves very quickly so dont let it scare you off but be careful in the parking lot, people tend to be aggressive in their cars.

Get the engaging hypercaffeinated staff to get you down a French toast bagel (thats right) at 9 AM while its warm and crusty, then just drown out the noise from your Montclair nutritionist in their specially mixed cream cheese. Good bagels and coffee. Iced coffee is made with frozen coffee ice cubes so it doesnt get watered down. Bagel sandwiches come with 2 eggs, which is also nice.

I dont think this place is in any way affiliated with the Hot Bagels Abroad in Bloomfield or Clifton, and I would be surprised if it were. The food was fine but the place was gloomy and service just ok. Not terrible but the others are better.

Just tried ordering over the phone. Answered asked to hold and then put the phone down. After more than 5 minutes of hearing them say next to the people in the shop someone finally came back to the line and I mentioned holding their response was ok and then they hung up the phone.
