Nice staff, a little slow on service when there was not too many customers being served, but otherwise decent turnaround time. Blended coffee was ok, but not my favorite. Italian chicken paninni was fantastic! Very large portion for me, but worth the money. Yummy!

I usually LOVE going here, but this time I was TRULY disappointed 😞 Ill come back and give it another try definitely! Previous experience will bring me back. I usually get the lemon bar 🥰 this time it was SO dry 😩 its usually buttery, lemon goodness 😋😋😋 it was early in the morning like 9:30, my 1st clue should have been there was only 3 in the case obviously leftover from the day or days before. The STAFF was GREAT they had no problem taking it back and giving me something else! Love the CUSTOMER SERVICE 👌

I had a huge graduation celebration for my daughter in June and I ordered 4 quarter cakes in the form of numbers (2021) I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes (mixed flavors & 1 dozen was vegan) & 3 dozen cookies. My entire experience was awesome from the very beginning when ordering to delivery service. Everything was absolutely yummy!! Everyone complimented how delicious everything was.They are so worth it and I’m a huge fan.I’ll be going back to order all my cakes there.Thank you Village baking staff! Keep up the good work!!

I love this bakery, would have gave it 5 stars if the the macrons I purchased were not stale. I bit into one and it shattered like a chip. I was pretty irritated considering I purchased a few of them. Then the lady making coffee wore her mask like a chin cover. Over all this bakery is one of my favorite but I don’t think I will be going back because a few employees didn’t wear masks and their cookies sucked! 35 bucks down the drain!

I tried their macaroons out once on my sisters baby shower cake last year. I recall them being so big & fluffy and quiet yummy. I decided to order 2 dozen for a champagne party I was having. They were a bit pricy HOWEVER you get what you pay for. I got to pick the color & flavor. They were as I remember so BIG so Fluffy, so beautiful looking but most importantly so Delicious. Thank you Village Bakery they were devoured not a crumble left.

Ordered a chicken salad combo with bread and cookie. The cashier was having a hard time understanding what I was ordering. I showed her on the menu what I wanted. When I did get my order no cookie no bread and the chicken tasted terrible. Ice tea was good. But paid 16 for something I couldn’t eat.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews….Ordered and paid for a vegan chocolate cake. They made a regular cake. Instead of apologizing upfront, I was being showed where their cashier made the mistake.They didn’t even have chocolate to make the same cake again when I offered time for them fix their mess.Walked out with a completely different cake with no compensation for all the delays and mistakes.One star for 🤷‍♀️

While my cookies were delicious the customer service was terrible. I picked up my advanced order of the Silver assortment of cookies. The young girl briefly showed me the cookies and had discreetly hidden the broken cookies underneath. When I asked to see them again I noticed two were broken. I pointed to them and asked if she could switch them out. She was very abrasive with me and said “don’t” touch them. I wasn’t touching them I was pointing to the broken cookies. 🙄She was also annoyed that I wanted to add cookies to my order!

Worst service and very high priced! I tried to order a whole apple strudel for my German moms birthday and the girl on the phone said she was too busy to get me a price! The guitar cake I ordered for my husbands surprise 60th they helped bring to my car and when I got home the guy closed the box top on the cake and had messed it all up! Their baking is delicious but dont expect any customer service. I personally wont go back!

I had a great experience at this bakery. The staff was friendly and professional. The coffee was great and the French Macarons were amazing.

Placed an order and payed over the phone. The next day I found out I didn’t need the order, so I called them informing that I need to cancel. The order wasn’t needed for three more days.I was told that if I cancel I am going to get 25% deducted and not get a full refund.Not once while placing the order did they tell me of any charges if I needed to cancel. The manager said that’s policy and there is nothing she can do.Being a first time customer this is not a great experience so far! Very unprofessional in customer service and how they handle situations.Something customers are not aware of you shouldn’t penalize them for it.

Although the cake was delicious, its appearance was a flop. We asked for a pink marble cake made with fondant. Since the theme of my party was floral, I asked for a soft pink color, but when I asked for flecks of gold scattered around the cake for the design, I was told it would be an extra $15. However when I received the cake, it was nothing like the way I was told it would turn out. The marble did not look right and the shade of pink was a harsh hot pink that I did not expect at all, and they ended up adding the gold specks for free to make up for it. I did not mind this as much as I did later on during the party when the cake began to TILT sideways! It was slowly falling over onto its side over a course of a couple hours. This forced me to cut the cake quickly, and when I did I immediately noticed that there was only one thin straw supporting the cake on the inside. Keep in mind that this was a three layer cake! Despite all of this, the cake was delicious but I just wished that the appearance had met those standards.

The first time my husband bought the Almond Strudel it was delicious and fresh. We got another one last week and it was not good at all, the crust seemed very dry or maybe stale. Our experience with the staff has not been great, both visits we noticed no one smiles or looks happy and although they were not impolite their demeanor was rather cold.

My favorite bakery! Their cakes are not only delicious, theyre also beautiful. I havent tried anything that wasnt amazing. The deli and cafe offerings are excellent as well. Its in the lovely McHenry Village. Parking isnt the best in the Village, but its worth the wait and or walk.

The coconut macaroons are very good and also the cinnamon twists make for great morning snacks. They are sweet delights without feeling heavy and greasy. I recommend them for a simple and nice breakfast!!

This bakery is always good. Everything tastes good. We ordered the gourmet cupcakes for my daughters wedding. The cupcakes were delicious and everyone at the wedding loved them. They also did the bride and groom cake exactly as was described to them. They have excellent taste and presentation in the cakes and baked goods.

This is just like the place my Swedish grandmother used to take me as a child (and why I had a serious weight problem). To this day, I love great bakeries because of the memories I had with her.The cakes, cookies, bread--everything is really good here. Its also a great place to grab a cup of coffee with a friend. If its a special occasion, were buying our cake here and not at the big box store.Are you going to pay more? You betcha. But if price is what makes the decision for you, youre going to miss out out on a really good cake. Its a special occasion. Live a little. Spend a little more. Great friendly environment. I didnt get food just a coffee and a banana and strawberry smoothie. Coffee was a little bitter and smoothie was delicious. Over all nice experience. Looking forward to trying the food next time I am in the area.

The staff are courteous, friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful here. They have gluten free baked items, that I can eat since I have Celiac Disease . The atmosphere is wonderful and cozy. Their coffees are great. The only reason I gave them four stars is because their hours in the evenings. They are outside of hours that I am able to go, so I can only normally go there on the weekends. Maybe thats a good thing hehe.😊

My favorite bakery in all of the valley. Inexpensive, but the quality is amazing. They have every dessert you could think of- cookies, cakes, donuts, cake pops, brownies, truffles, lemon bars, tarts, macarons, various types of breads (pumpkin, strawberry, raspberry, and others), etc. Also they sell really good coffee. They also have sandwiches and other things if you want a proper meal, but I’ve personally never tried them because I end up buying a ton of desserts. They also have larger cakes that you can buy for events, and I’m pretty sure they even design wedding cakes. I’ve been to a lot of bakeries, and this is the best one in the Central Valley, and their lemon bars are the best I’ve ever tried.

I was so happy with the outcome of the cake that i order. The design that i ask her had come out just so perfect as i told her. I would definitely order again next time. I would say i recommend her to order cakes for any occasions.

Ive come here for breakfast, lunch, coffee/tea or to buy pastries for us or to give as as gifts to others. Prices are reasonable for meals but a little high for baked goods. The cafe-bakery is large, with indoor and outdoor tables and chairs. It also has some bar seating. The place Can be quite busy at lunch. The lunch offerings are usually salads and sandwiches. The part of McHenry Village where it is located has a lot of foot traffic.

The coffee here could be stronger, but the Batistas get it done. There is always someone artistic making sure the latte art is beautiful. The pastries are a bit overpriced, but delicious nonetheless. The atmosphere in this place, however, is why u keep coming back. It is a warm, cozy cafe one can spend an hour or two just drinking coffee, and having a good conversation.

My uncle brought some of their pastries home after work and they are still delicious after 3 days of leftovers! We got the apple strudel (I dont know the correct name) and another custard/almond type of pastry and both are delicious. You can taste the use of fresh ingredients.

The bakery is the star of this Restaurant. They have many unique and beautiful bakery items. fresh baked breads, pastries, cake and also do special occasion cakes. They have a section for coffee of all kinds that I did not try. We stopped for lunch.

Traditional breakfast in new year with family. Had the breakfast wrap/burrito. Good quality stuff and bagel breakfast was alright coming from kids. Adults had good quality Caffe Micha and Carmel Macchiato. I think better than st.r.buks. as always post places that appeal to your palette.

I gotta say here, the food and pastries are all very good and well done, the place is clean and decently inviting. But I have a real problem with the service here. Its enough of a problem for me that even the food and overall clean environment cant save the place from the 2 star service that you receive from the staff. They are slow and they just dont seem to really want to be there. I know its probably not someones dream job to be there as a cashier or anything but a little hustle and a smile goes a long, long way. Sadly, I dont get that... I know the place is popular and trust me, I get the appeal, but service is a big thing in my book.

I came in today to try the macarons. I purchased fruity pebbles, vanilla, and berry. I was a little disappointed with them.... the almond flour was not sifted enough causing the shells to be all bumpy and they were all also hollow in the shells. The main thing that bummed me out is they all tasted the same. Pretty much all like the vanilla one. I could not taste any fruity pebble or berry flavor what so ever when I ate those compared to vanilla. I’m a beginner macaron baker and I can bake better macarons than these....

Went there on a Monday evening and what a surprise I got! Its a home converted into a coffeehouse with outside deck, comfy sofas, front porch, plenty of sitting areas. I understand they have live bands and open mike nights. That would be fabulous to attend. There is a light menu of beverages, hot and cold; plenty to choose from.

I went in by myself to have a lite lunch. I usually like everything there. But I tried their pastrami, that I had never tried, it was not very good. And I was totally surprised. Ive never had something that I didnt like at this place. It would have been so much better if it was more like deli meat then sliced like it was. Very disappointing but I will be back to try something new.

The bakery food is fabulous but very expensive, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. They have some gluten free and sone sugar free bakery items. I recently fell in love with their pineapple cheesecake pastry. They also have a deli and cafe but Ive only had their quiche. There are tables indoors and out.

Shop was a bit chaotic for a novice. Placed orders for company event. Pricing seemed a little steep until we sampled a couple items. YUM!!!

The place itself is beautiful and clean. However, their selection of pastries are far too pricey. Im sure its because of the location its in. I tried a chai latte there too, and it tasted too off. There was syrup flavor everywhere in the drink. Although I wont complain about their sweet pastries ( the savory pretzel was cold and dry) their specialty coffee is not worth the 4 dollars.

Loved this place

I had ordered a lemon and coconut cake with vanilla custard in cake. It was horrible. The cake was very dry and there was supposed to be custard in middle of cake. There was 2 tablespoons of custard. I have had better cakes from the box. I was very disappointed and called right after we tasted the cake. I called right away to let them know and even sent a picture of cake. The owner said we can give you a ten dollar credit for the custard. I am appalled by the laxydaysical and unprofessional behavior. I wanted the money back, because the cake was awful! I paid 45$ for a cake that was not what i ordered. I went there before and ordered the same cake and it was good. The same cake was also significantly better and less expensive. I will never go there again. My friends couldnt believe that the owner didnt rectify the situation. Meaning they should have refunded my money! If you want a good cake order it from another bakery.

Yesterday my son and I went to have lunch there. Ive always had pleasant experience there when Ive visited with my mom. So thought what a cute place to share with my 8 year old. We sat and had lunch and I was rang up. I was charged $4.00 over showing on my bank statement then what I originally signed for. When it was brought up to the cashier and manager it was totally disregarded. I checked my statement because I had to transfer money! I called back to let them know about the incident the next morning and the manager on duty was totally rude! Instead of owning the mistake and fixing it made an excuse up and down why it might have happened!! So just be AWARE when you are being rang out and check your statement! It just seemed totally dishonest and its not really about the money! I will be taking my business else WHERE!

Went to go get a desert for my husbands bday. I clearly asked for a fruit tart and the girl gave me something that I totally did not ask for looks like some sort of cream buff. Pretty upset because she sealed the box so I didnt even think to confirm it was the right desert. Word of advice maybe before sealing the box confirm with the customer if thats the right desert :(

We were here a few days ago and purchased two coffee cakes and some elephant ears etc. They were so bad that one taste and we threw them away! Yuck! This place has gone downhill so badly. Never again!

The staff is so so but their bakery section is so over priced and half of the stuff i have ordered through out my visits is quite bland. Only reason I go is for the macarons but those to have a weird fridge taste and are very over priced they used to be 1.99. Now they are almost 4 dollars each Id rather just make my own.

This is a great place for coffee, baked goods, or even just lunch. Good salads and sandwiches, as well as pastries. It is a bit overpriced but other than that I recommend it. Definitely worth checking out.
