I called early afternoon to verify the vehicle was at the lot. Brent advised me it was and I was wondering if we could talk about some quick estimates over the phone and he advised me that it would be better to bring in my trade in so they can look at it. I packed up my family made babysitter arrangements on short notice and drove to mobile from Pensacola. The dealership closes at 6pm we didnt arrive until almost 5pm. Brent did an amazing job. And we were able to take a test drive. When it came to the finance dept Danny was calm and courteous. After an hour of trying to figure out what finance options we had we came to an agreement. Brent explained the vehiclebefore I went home. Not even 24 hours of owning the vehicle I looked at the truck in my driveway and there is damage on my less than 100 mile truck on the bed behind the passenger side rear door. Im currently speaking to my salesman Brent about it but I know without a shadow of a doubt I did not hit or run anything over with my new vehicle. Brent informed me that the vehicle has good sound proofing and I couldve not heard the damage if I ran something over but the damage is so severe the paint is gone all the way to metal and no amount of sound proofing would stop that noise. All in all I feel that Brent is going to help and he is a great person and salesman to have at the dealership.

Took my truck to the collision center after an accident, this was an insurance claim. The on site estimator (Buddy) came across as very incompetent. I had to actually locate parts for my own vehicle due to him not being able to find them. I had to take it back multiple times for them to try and fix/diagnose the issue. Fast forward 7 months and my truck still has a terrible vibration from the rear end that was not there previous to the wreck. I was told by (Buddy) that he has done everything he was going to do to it and he wasnt going to do anything else and that it wasnt his problem and I need to take it to someone who could fix it.

Back in August 2020, I was looking for a new vehicle. I remember Brent being super helpful and explaining things like torque and turbo engines to me, when other dealers would have just given me a vague answer and not taken me seriously. It meant a lot, so when I realized I wasn’t happy with the vehicle I ended up purchasing, I came back to Mcconnell, and I have to say that everyone there is so thorough in their explanations of everything, I’ll definitely be using them when the time comes to make my next purchase

If you want to see incompetence in action this is the place for you. I talked to 3 different people about the same vehicle for 3 days. I drove 45 min to go see it. When I showed up the sales person walked me around the lot for several minutes looking for the vehicle. He couldn’t find it, went inside and asked someone where it was only to be told it was sold several days ago. Unreal and a waste of time.

My wife and I had been to another dealership earlier in the day but couldnt make a deal with them so we road over to Mobile,Al. They were very nice and we didnt have to spend a lot of time with them and they made me a offer on my trade that I could live with . So now Im driving a 2021 GMC with the 3.0 Duramax and I love it gets the fuel mileage I was hoping for. So 👍👍👍thumbs up great experience ! Thanks again for the opportunity to work with them. I took my car in for a catalytic converter error code. They kept my car 4 days Tyler told me there were no issues with the catalytic converter, he changed my spark plugs because he said they looked bad but there was no error code and he change my engine filter. Less than a month I’m back with the same catalytic converter error code and he lied and said he told me that there was an issue with it and I refused service, absolute lie. Now they want over $1200 more to fix the original problem that I brought it in for, He’s the top in sales because he makes unneeded repairs and the mechanics just reset the code on your car and change you over $700 for $150 repair if that. The service manager was no help, all he did was back his employee, his customer service was horrible and you couldn’t get a word in. Tyler changed all of the paperwork to back up his lies the manager is not going to get to the bottom of anything and I will never got back there again. The sales reviews are high but the service is subpar. Good luck

Everything went smoothly. This is the first time I have bought a truck from McConnell and wont be the last. Hunter Nunez did an amazing job. He answered my questions. Followed through with sending information in a timely manner. Did not badger me with high pressure sales tactics or underhanded behavior. He represented your establishment well as I expect my employees to do for my business.Matt in the closing/finance department also did a great job taking care of me and handled the sales/closing process in a professional and efficient manner.

Your sales staff was very professional and went out of there way to help, Brent our salesman took time to show all features on truck. Brent has also checked back with us after sale to see if he could help in any way. I would definitely buy again from MCA because the total time it took from start to finish was about 3 hours. Went in for my first service on a new vehicle purchased there. The needed service was an oil change and rotate and balance. The service department was very busy but still managed to get my vehicle turned around in about 45 minutes. I had to wait there, so I was pleased with the timing.

My experience at McConnell Automotive started with Tom Davenport. I was web surfing looking for a great used SUV when I came across McConnells web site and spotted the perfect SUV for me. I called right away and talk to Tom and he is the nicest guy to talk to. He politely answered all my questions and set up an appointment with salesman Brent Waldron. It was very refreshing to talk with someone so positive and happy. Thank you Tom!!! We were coming from out of town and all I could do was hope they didnt sell it before we got there. Brent was great at keeping me informed about the status of the vehicle and when we arrived Brent was right there waiting to show us the SUV. He went over everything about the car in detail and was very pleasant to work with. I would recommend both these gentlemen to take care of all you car buying needs. I brought my truck in for and oil change and assume that includes a lube. I also asked you to check an oil leak I noticed on the left front. I was told the source of the leak was a defective steering gear and intermediate shaft. Both were replaced and the total charge was close to $1800. I’ve driven the truck approximately 20 miles and noticed a new puddle of oil on my carport in the same place it was leaking before. Obviously the steering gear had nothing to do with the leak. I was highly suspect of that being the source of the leak because I had no issues with the steering and it had none of the symptoms I was told it should have. I also noticed that neither of the front tie rod ends were lubed. There is no sign of the grease fitting being wiped nor is there any sign of fresh grease around the boot. To say I’m unhappy is an understatement! Not only did I not get what I paid for, I still have the same leak the $1700 in parts and labor were supposed to fix.

Bought a used car and two days later its in the shop with major repair. Called them to see if their mechanic could take a look and work out a better price for a repair (literately drove for 2 days) and they said NO. I get it is a used car but they said it was completely checked out and in perfect condition.. I cant believe for one second they didnt know what was wrong. All my savings gone and I cant even drive this car. I dont recommend McConnell Automotive!

Please do no take your car to this shop they do not do good work and the manager and some of the employees in the office have very nasty attitudes. The manager even told me he dont even care to have my business and to never come back. Well he dont have to worry about that because with their unprofessional attitudes and horrible work I will not be back. I called to let his boss know about how I was treated and no one ever returned my phone call thats how much they care about their customers. My car was not cleaned completely after the job was done and they left paint on my grill. This place is not where you want to take your nice car. I have a new car that is only a month old and I am devastated by by experiences with this shop and the way I was treated. I felt helpless. The manager even started throwing things around like he was having a temper tampering. I cant believe my experience I had. He knows he can get away with it thats why he treats people so bad. Theres no accountability.

Going to a dealership for automotive maintenance and repairs, you would expect to be treated with good customer service and knowledgeable representatives. The entire experience at McConnell was poor. I called to have my car scheduled for its 37,500 maintenance after seeing the prices on their website and confirming with the representative on the phone. Upon dropping the car off the staff was entirely understaffed and unhelpful. I reiterated my desired service to the staff again at that time. I was called the following day that my vehicle was ready but that only an oil change was done. When I asked about tire rotation And other portions of the maintenance package I was told that that was not included and was extra despite previous conversations to the contrary and that the car would have to be kept for longer. Overall not a big deal, but terrible communication and service in an industry that should be all about experience if they desire repeat business.

While we were on vacation nearby, my transmission starting acting funny on my GMC vehicle. We stopped at McConnel GMC and were greeted by Mr. Greg in the service department. We explained our situation and he stopped what he was doing to help us. After a tech drove our vehicle, we were told that we would need a new transmission. Mr. Greg was so kind and worked very hard to get us back in our vehicle by the end of our vacation so that we could safely make it back home. Everyone was so kind and helpful! We definitely recommend the service department at McConnel GMC!

I received my oil change without issue. The only issue I had was the transportation back from the work to GMC ( I dropped my car off at 1:00 PM). I was picked up at 5:02 PM and the store closes at 5:30. Once the shuttle arrived and I got in I was told at that time they had to pick another person. This is where things went sour. I should have never got in. I arrived at the dealer at about 6:00 PM. This is only a 11 minute trip from my work. I was not expecting the other person to be 30 min away from my work and the dealer. The reason I choose to use the shuttle was to minimize my time waiting but ended up most likely using more time shuttling then the oil change itself. During this time of Covid I do not recommend Mcconnell Automotive allowing multiple stops. I felt I had no say so in this event that occured. In hindsight I would have never taken the shuttle as the risk is not worth the time that should have been saved. I really hope I did not catch anything on the ride as the older women that got picked up did cough some during the trip.

I called and scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning @ 9:30 to have my oil and brake pads changed. I showed up at my appointed time and was told that it takes at least 4 hours to change the pads. He said there wasnt enough time to do so because the service department closes at 1:00. Had I been told that, I would have scheduled a time when they could both be done and not make two trips to your service center. I was prepared to pay at that time but when the gentleman gave me the cost of the brake services, and since they could not be done at the scheduled time, I checked other places. I found in two of the 3 places checked that it would be $175 per axle as opposed to $220 per axle with your service center. So I decided to go elsewhere to get my brakes done. I dont understand the difference in pricing other than youre a dealership and the other companies are tire companies. I love my vehicle, the oil change was fine and some of the people are very nice. But the fact that I couldnt get my brakes done was the disappointment.

My husband was in the market for an SUV to replace my 10-year-old Yukon. He called McConnell Automotive and Brian Gardner was extremely helpful and gave him a rundown of inventory, mentioning a specific Acadia that he believed fit the description of what I would like. That afternoon, we went to “look” at what Brian had mentioned. When we arrived, he had a new Acadia pulled to the front, keys in it, ready for a test drive. I was shocked when I saw the vehicle, because it was EXACTLY what I wanted to replace my Yukon, color, options, and all. We test drove it, and both Brian and another gentleman, Glen “Gump” McCown directed us out of the pouring rain where Glen went over all the options with me. Brian worked out a great deal with my husband, and I happily drove my new SUV home that night! The next day when I returned with our insurance information, Glen greeted me with the same friendly professional attitude and put me in a similar vehicle to drive for a few hours, while they “detailed” mine. That evening, Brian and Glen were waiting with my shiny, clean, ready to roll Acadia. Brian had everything for the final signing, and Glen went over each option in detail, specifically the hands free voice command center and its many controls. We left McConnell feeling very satisfied, knowledgeable, and extremely impressed with the incredible service we received throughout the process. STAY AWAY FROM McCONNELL AUTOMOTIVE ! I purchased a used 2017 Honda Accord EX-L from them on December12, 2019. I saw the car online, called, and test drove the car. The used car salesman was Chris Hamber. I purchased the car with no financing and paid for a warranty. Paid in full. Over one month later, they still have not sent the title. I started calling after three weeks and left messages for Audrey Quick, title clerk, Julia Hatton the title manager, and Gene Stuckey, used car manager. NO ONE RETURNED VOICEMAILS OR MESSAGES CONCERNING THIS CAR. The receptionist always told me they were on the line or with another customer. I called Chris and told him I was driving the car back if the used car manager (Gene Stuckey) did not call me back. Stuckey called and said he would look into it but no one knew where the title was, probably because of the holiday season. A week later, no one again was returning messages or voicemails. I went to the Escambia County (FL.) Tax Collectors Office to see if the title and estimated taxes that had been collected by McConnel had been sent. They had not. The clerk at the tax collectors office called McConnell Automotive, and was told by the receptionist, oh, youre calling about THAT car, we don have the title. The tax clerk told me to be careful, that probably meant that there wasnt a clear title on the car. I had my wife call and ask for Gene Stuckey about a car purchase, when he answered, she asked him where the title was for the car. Unprepared for my wifes questions, he said he didnt know but would call her back. Three days later, he contacted my wife, and informed her that the car had been acquired from Mansteins auto auction in Orlando and there was a bank lien on the car that would have to be taken care of before a title could be issued. IN OTHER WORDS, McCONNELL AUTOMOTIVE SOLD ME A CAR THAT THEY DID NOT OWN !! Let me repeat, McCONNELL SOLD ME A CAR WITHOUT A CLEAR TITLE. THIS IS ILLEGAL BY LAW IN BOTH THE STATES OF ALABAMA AND FLORIDA. Said they would contact us when they get it. I have filed a report with the Alabama and Florida Department of Motor Vehicles. I have contacted an attorney. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT McCONNELL. Not a word from the general manager of the Dealership. They are liars and deceivers. No integrity with this dealership.

Mitch and Bruce were wonderful. Within a few days, they located EXACTLY the Denali Yukon XL that I wanted and traveled to bring it back to Mobile. I also ordered all weather mats after my purchase and Bruce followed up to ensure I got the correct ones. The entire staff including the service/parts department was outstanding. McConnell (Charles Primm) refused to do a GM Service bulletin (regarding a large fuel leak) on my vehicle, said they didnt want to chance breaking something else on the vehicle while performing the work and being stuck paying for repairs not covered by the recall.. Bay Chevrolet did the job with no problem and were very courteous

Typically I dread walking onto a dealership lot. This was not my experience at McConnell Automotive at all thanks to Chris Hamberg. After spending all day looking at the vehicle of my choice and walking away because of their unwillingness to work with me, I came to McConnell very frustrated. Chris was very pleasant from the beginning. No pressure. No games. He knew what I wanted and made it happen. Very straightforward and honest. After a test drive we struck a deal that I was very happy with. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. THIS is how you get repeat customers; other salesman should take note.

Very good experience would recommend McConnell to anyone looking for a vehicle. All dealings was handled by phone, price what was as stated on the phone will no charges added when arrived at dealership, just needed to inspect, test drive vehicle, arrange loan and drive out. Sales person was very professional and answered all questions in the dealership and after at home.

The service manager, Charles Primm made my visit a pleasant one. However, I am not a fan of the message system to make an appointment. It definitely needs improvement because customers do not need to wait until 24 hours before receiving a return phone call to schedule a maintenance appointment for their vehicle. I would appreciate this service being enhanced to receive a phone call on the same day within 2 hours or less.

My Certified Used Acadia is a money pit.I cant even explain all the problems Ive had with it, spending probably close to $5000-7000 within the past two years. This doesnt include what Ive had to repair in 2015 adn 2016. I went to McConnell earlier this year and said find everything wrong with this truck and repair it; paid $3000 for everything. Then, the air conditioner didnt work again. Paid another $1100. Got the truck back and noticed that the fan was running for a good while after I turned the truck off, but didnt realize it wasnt supposed to. Im sure McConnell would have noticed this after they repaired the air conditioner,, so apparently this is what it is supposed to do. This was happening as soon as I picked the truck up. Then the truck starts messing up again, misfiring, and dragging when trying to start. Took the truck straight to McConnell. Now my battery needs to be replaced. I got to thinking maybe because of the fan running after I turn the motor off? Get the truck back, paid another $200 for the battery, and was told that I had a bubble somewhere that was causing the misfire. This was one of the same problems I paid $3000 previously to correct. However, at that time the problem was because I was overfilling the gas tank. Give me a break. McConnell Automotives serve department, to me, has a lot to be desired. If I was in the position, I would have rid this truck a long time ago. And please publish this remark, although I know these remarks dont usually make it the public eye, and I really dont expect a response for McConnell or GMC.

During my first visit to the dealership, I was introduced to our salesman Mr. James Brown. I was originally interested in looking at used Yukon XL, but quickly realized I wasnt interested in that particular vehicle mostly due to color combination. James and I exchanged information and I asked him to show me some of the new Yukon XLs. I mentioned in passing that my wife would love this particular unit. We didnt really talk much about it at that time. I text him off and on for a week before calling him and telling him we were headed that way to talk serious. When we arrived he had the exact vehicle I mentioned my wife would want pulled up to the front door of the dealership and the keys ready for a test drive. He was never pushy, but remembered what we talked about and which one we were most interested in. The buying process was very laid back and not rushed. The sales manager Mr. Brian Gardner worked with us and Mr. James Brown to ensure we were happy with the vehicle and knew about all the features. It was a very enjoyable purchase experience and I would recommend McConnell Automotive and Mr. James Brown to anyone in the market for a new GMC vehicle. 2015 GMC Yukon, 74000 miles, #7 lifter replaced, lifter replacement was covered under powertrain warranty, BARELY. Two days later, ough idle and rough acceleration. Would not honor warranty on previous work stating unrelated issue. Im less than 2000 miles outside of my mileage warranty. Dealership reached out to GM but manufacturer wouldnt assist dealership with repair to boot. Now alleging #6 fuel injector. Buyer beware. Poor quality. Better pay extra for a good warranty! I will never purchase another GM product.

This was a very pleasent experience. Everyone there went over and beyond to help us . They listen to what you want and do their best to fulfill your needs . They provide great service with no high pressure. We really like our 2018 Enclave Avenir, it is really quite and has a very smooth ride .
