I took my youngest here to get her ears pierced. Wed had some bad experiences with mall piercings so we decided to go see a pro. Brenda was awesome! She made us feel very at ease and the whole experience could not have been better.The shop it self has a very clean, comfortable atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly. Ive been in tattoo shops that would have felt very uncomfortable to take a small child to, but this was not one of them.Thank you very much for the great experience, I know were not your typical customer but I was very impressed and will be recommending you to friends!

Was not impressed by the quality of attitude or the poor quality of my tattoo or piercing it got infected and the jewelry was fake and some of the workers there were very rude and snoody i personally will not be going back and letting everyone I know not to go back there

My piercers name starts with S and she was fantastic. I got my nose pierced and felt safe there. They gave me thorough care instructions and had high quality jewelry available. The piercing is healing well! I recommend this place for any new piercing. My friends have also gotten tattoos and piercings here and they have all turned out great. These people know what theyre doing.

Amazingly friendly, clean and professional. Had my cartilage jewelry changed - nice selection of new studs and owner was happy to assist and change out for me. Even lost part of one of them after 2 days and they made sure to make it right and replace, no questions asked. Byron is a great artist! We can from out of state to visit family and we decided to get tattoos. He was very nice and caring about how you wanted your tattoo to be. Couldnt have asked for a better artist for my first tattoo. I would definitely go back again.

Heard good things about the artists, so I paid a $50 deposit for a tattoo, but when I tried to reschedule my appointment at least a week in advance during covid, they never got back to me and took the money.

I never judge based on a first visit so I went back for a second. I went to get my piercing changed out. I was told upfront that I would be charged to have this done, since I brought my own jewelry. Fine. She told me she was an intern. So I’m paying for a student to do the job? I had a ring placed and it wasn’t aligned or closed all the way, so as it turns it has ripped my skin and has caused my ear to bleed over and over and I’m now afraid of an ongoing infection. Really disappointed.

We were planning a vacation and called ahead, made appointments and my daughters got matching sister tattoos and I got a birth month flower bouquet. Angel was our artist and she did a great job! We are so happy with our tattoos!

It was nice talking to the guy that did my tattoo but I didnt get a very elaborate one... That being said the lines were not straight Im not going to mention his name cuz I dont want to bust anybody out but be sure that your tattoo artist listens to exactly what you have to say and doesnt pressure you into feeling like its your fault that the tattoo isnt straight!

A LOT of confusion over how much a piercing cost and one person would quote one price and then another person said another price. In the end, we wound up spending way more than we were originally quoted. However, other than that they were incredibly professional, the establishment was clean, and they did a great job piercing. I would highly recommend getting any quote for price in writing BEFORE you sit in the chair though.

The staff was friendly and everything was completely sterile. The art was great and the artists were more than happy to answer any questions from stories about their tattoos, to what colors they use to make certain shades. Everyone seemed to be at ease during the whole process. I definitely will be going back for more art.

I have spent over 15 hours in a chair with Jay and will be spending another 15 more. He is very professional and dedicated to his craft. I gave him an Idea of what I wanted not really sure what he could do with it and he toke this idea and blew it up to a level I could never imagine. I look forward to future sessions. As for the rest the store its clean and welcoming, always some good tunes to listen to while your getting a tattoo. The rest of the staff are all very welcoming and vibe really well together I have yet to hear a bad thing from a RELIABLE source about any of them.

Altered Skin is an amazing establishment!! I came to Jay with nothing but a basic idea and he took my idea and transformed it into a masterpiece in memory of my father. Jay has done both of my tattoos and he was nothing short of awesome! My mother was so impressed with the work they did on me that she went in and had Detail Dave tattoo her. Everyone there is great!! They are very professional, gifted and extremely talented artists. They are fun, friendly and they take care of you. They work with you and help create something for you to cherish forever. I happen to know quite a few tattoo artists and people in the tattoo business. Altered Skin is the ONLY place I will ever go to get a tattoo and they are also the only place I EVER recommend. They are the BEST!!

Altered Skin is a fabulous and very professional place. Jay fixed a tattoo that I had, and did the best job. I am working on a new tattoo currently, that Jay will be doing.My husband has a sleeve done by Jay and it came out awesome. He also has another tatt by Dave, which is also great. They are all fabulous artists and very professional and personable.I also have received a piercing from Brenda and one the other guys, both were great, almost painless and very nice. They have great jewelry and prices. I will never go anywhere else.

They did my husbands latest tattoo. Turned out great. Available is a little tricky but the talent is worth the wait.

I havent even been able to get a tattoo here because every time I call with an idea, they shut me down over the phone! I wanted a small tattoo on my finger & the receptionist told me that they do not do finger tattoos. A few weeks later a friend of mine posts a photo of a FINGER TATTOO that she got from altered skin. Wouldnt be so bad if I didnt get rejected a SECOND time for an ear tattoo I called about. They have lost my business.

I have lived in Missoula on and off for about 6 years and had the pleasure of trying all the tattoo shops in town, once I went to Altered Skin, I havent gone anywhere else. each of the tattoos that I have gotten at altered skin have been with Jay, He does an outstanding job, takes ideas and makes them better, and was understanding when I had to reschedule, being that I have moved from town. I recently just got done with a back tattoo that was a total of 6 sessions totaling about 24hours of total tattoo time. Want a good tattoo go somewhere else, want a F**KING awesome tattoo go to altered skin and ask for jay!!!

My girlfriend called and asked if they could fit her in for a piercing, and Brenda told her to come down whenever worked best for us. We got to the shop, which was clean and professional looking, and she talked my girlfriend through the process while helping her pick out jewelry. My girlfriend was indecisive about what kind of jewelry she wanted and Brenda was patient as well as knowledgeable while helping weigh out the various options. The piercing process was quick, and my girlfriend described it as her easiest piercing to date. We are from out of town so Brenda was sure to give us adequate contact information should any concerns or issues arise. Not sure about the other guys but Brenda, the piercer, is a mixed bag. Shes professional and nice enough to meet in person but if you are not totally satisfied with her work, beware. Shell scoff at your complaints, audibly ridicule you, and basically give you an attitude rather than give you patience and advice to alleviate your concerns.Skilled in piercing I am sure, but vapid and mean if you have questions afterwards.
