Have loved this place since I was a kid and came here for CDs! You never know what youre going to find.. A truly cool place in Minneapolis and was glad to visit again after many years.

I havent been to many Cheapos. This was a very large and sprawling, open floor warehouse of everything good and music. It was fun seeing VHS and cassettes too. Movies, posters, merchandise. There was a large vinyl selection too. Almost made me want to get a player. Im sure if I had something in mind to buy, I wouldve found it. Very organized. Its close to where I live, so I look forward to visiting again.

Large selection and very, very nice organization of the merchandise. I appreciate how its both labeled a-z and by band/musician name. Makes for a very easy time looking for music by the people I listen to.

Im pretty sure this record store had at least one of everything. Vinyl, Cassette, CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and Video Games. Its well organized and Ill be back!

Ive always loved this spot for getting good deals on used CDs. They also have an extensive vinyl selection with recent pressings of many classic albums all well as used LPS. Make sure you check out the CD box sets behind the checkout counter.Great service as well, the cashier saved me 15 bucks when he noticed a new CD I was purchasing just came in used. Of course I threw those savings at another album..

A temple to recorded music, the like of which hasnt been seen since the late 80s. They have CDs, records, posters, t-shirts, and music paraphernalia and lots of it. The CDs and records are both new used at reasonable to awesome prices.

I guess it was OK its not wheelchair accessible accessible but but it is a nice place to be place to be when I still had my legs I could walk through that a legs I could walk through that thing no problem no problem but its not wheelchair accessible

Awesome store great variety, but I bought a few records as birthday gifts while in the cities and when I got home and we tried them 2 of them so far are scratched and skip alot, and one is warped (luckily it still works). I tried calling several times but it appears to be no working phone because I never get an answer.

I could spend an entire day in this store. The new location on Eat Street is within walking distance, so I get all the Christmas gifts for my brothers here. They have shirts, pins, patches, box sets, posters etc. So if Im unsure if they already own a certain record or CD, I opt for merch items! The workers are always kind and the music is always good. A Minneapolis music staple.

Reason being the staff is friendly. they know what theyre talking about when it comes to records DVDs and all of the above for cheapo records. if you spend records theyre also willing to help you figure out how to order records from overseas. I also love the graffiti and the artwork on the outside Im cheaper records doomtree. Its in a great location off of nicollet I cant say anything more about this place than me and my family love it. Thank you Chico records for helping me still being able to DJ and spin records.

By sheer volume of vinyl, this is the mecca. You may not find what youre looking for, but youll find something good. Amazing selection of films too.

I love Cheapo. Ive been coming since 1992 and its one of my favorite things in the Twin Cities. On a visit home I went to their new location (they were displaced from their Uptown home by yet another condo) and left with $120 worth of random CDs and DVDs. They have new stuff sprinkled in with the old, but the real pleasure is browsing the well organized and ample stacks for assorted weirdness. I travel a lot and like looking for Used CD stores wherever I am. This is easily one of the best in the nation - and they still have three locations.

I stop by this record store every time Im in MSP, its a good place to find some gems.

Great store. Large selection of records and cds. A lot of used and new and priced fairly. I could have looked for hours had I had the time. The St. Paul location was nice as well but this one I think was a bit larger.

Love this place, great selection of so much stuff. I needed a new needle and they helped me find the right one. My only complaint is the inconsistent grading on used vinyl, Ive had good albums sound far more scratchy than Fine records that are cheaper more than once. Not a big concern, totally part of the risk of buying used vinyl, but wish I could trust the rating more.

He didnt even look said didnt want cause mask was pulled down wow. Couldve just asked to pull up mask but he was VERY rude. Corporate manager needs to do something with this guy

Mostly reprints for LPs but tons to CD and cassette. Also a fair amount of dvds. The dailys are always hot so get there early and often if youre looking for those gems.

The selection here is really great for new issue vinyl, as well as used vinyl. Their prices are reasonable, and at least comparable to other top record stores in the city. They have a great selection of t-shirts as well. If you go, be ready to spend hours shopping! Its a lot of fun!

Lots of record, DVD, CD and shirts to choose from. Not necessarily living up to its name as it wasnt exactly cheap.

The best word for a place like this is comprehensive. Anything youre looking for youll find here--except for your most niche and obscure albums which are worth chasing down anyway. Given the size of the space, I was impressed with the quality of the audio of the music being played. Many places let a mediocre sound system suffice which seems contrary to the point of these shops...but Cheapo delivers!

This place is amazing. Im so glad I made the trip. I would much rather go to a store and pick up an album while talking to people about music. I would recommend visiting Cheapo if you want a fun music experience. The prices are great too. I found an out of print CD for cheap!

This is a fun place to check out. You never know what you will find. I have found some silly stuff from my childhood to some rare finds.

Great selection of new and used vinyl and CDs. Over 100 posters in the racks. Multi color records line the walls. Used movie and vision games are also available.They have modern rock, classic rock, country, r&b, rap, classic, religious. The only thing I didnt see was sitar metal. Loved this place.

Amazing selection of records, movies, CDs and more. This is a nice fresh taste of the oldies and before, and mostly everything is super cheap! Here I discovered some bands I didnt know existed, and I listen to them now. This place needs more natural-looking light in the building though, as it feels akin to a dungeon.

First time visiting since they moved out of Uptown. Vast, vast store with huge and varied selection. They had almost everything I could think of looking for, besides salsa records. They even looked up a record I couldnt find. Minneapolis is lucky to have this place.

I love Cheapo Records. The staff is always willing to help, the selection of vinyl, movies, and cds is mind-boggling, and theres always an interesting album playing in the background. This place feels like every awesome record store youve ever seen in a movie, and I always go out of my way to visit this place!

The quantity of choice is huge. Not everything is super cheapo but there are definitely bargains to find. Especially fun is the treasure hunt through the recently acquired vinyl.

Excellent selection of used vinyl. I always find different albums every time I go and last time was no different. I think I got somewhere between 12 and 15. And my total only came to $40 or so. Excellent value and you just might find what youre looking for.

Oh Cheapo, my favorite place to browse on a Saturday afternoon. I dont know how they stay open with the prominence of music downloads, but they have a great CD collection upstairs. Downstairs is my favorite: vinyl. For popular albums you have to pay a normal price, but there are some deals if you look. Also, the country and Christian section have great album cover art (they dont make em like that anymore). When Im here I remember that there used to be physical spaces dedicated to exploring music, and it makes me want to linger.
