We have been to this shop twice. Each time were in the area now we have to stop! You can sample just about anything in the store and the owner has used every single spice he has cooking at home so he can give you insight on the flavor profile or what you might make with it. The recipes they have come up with for the different vinegars and oils are so creative and fragrant. The 18 year balsamic and the honey ginger vinegar are out of this world and a must try! We will absolutely be back for the great product and customer service!
Small, quaint neighborhood shop. The guy working there is a nice guy, helped me pick a curry (I am NOT a cook). They even throw in a little free sample pack of spices when you check out!
A wonderful gem of a shop, with high quality spices and friendly staff. Very grateful to have them in the neighborhood!
What a fantastic shop. The owners have put together an amazing collection of expertly curated spices and spice blends from around the world. Prices are great for the product youre getting, and the quality is unmatched. I was able to sample everything I wished to before buying, and they even sent me home with a free packet of a spice Id never heard of to try with my evening meal. Each time Ive been here I also came away with a couple of new things to try. Its worth coming here just to get their Egyptian Dukkah which turns your avocado toast into a transcendental experience.
I am not a good cook, but I like good food and with Covid I cant eat out or travel so this shop has been a real blessing for my home cooking. I have shopped at other spice shops, but the owners of this shop are very helpful and they stock truly superior products so I prefer this shop. Here are some of my favorites: Coffee -- I have been a Starbucks fan until I tried this shops freshly roasted coffee (freshly roasted every few days). Oils & Vinegars -- I make my own marinades and vinaigrettes because I dont like all the chemicals in bottled varieties. I live by myself so I really like the gift paks that allow me to buy 4 different bottles (60ml each) to try before buying a full size bottle. I personally love the Olive Wood Smoked olive oil, Eureka Lemon olive oil and the Garlic olive oil. The Champagne and Balsamic vinegars are excellent but I really love the Pomegranate-Quince vinegar, Black Cherry vinegar and the Honey Ginger vinegar. Spices: wonderful flavors and aromas -- the Tuscan Bread Dipping Spice is amazing. My friends and their friends want it when they taste it. The Korean Black Garlic is sooo very good! I never tasted Sumac before shopping in this shop and I have purchased 2 bottles already. Their Saffron is incredible, much better than any that I have ever tasted before. They offer soft paks of the spices with 1/2c in each so you can try them at home before buying a whole bottle. Salts: I love the Sriracha Sea Salt on popcorn and the Chardonnay Salt on green salads. Recipes: I love their pickled red onion recipe using Coriander -- really makes a difference. The Honey Chipotle grilled pineapple is amazing, and the Spicey Tomato Jam is a great snack or appetizer. I love their fish recipes. Many of their recipes are quick and easy but taste extra special because of the quality of the spices. I have tried several new spices because of this shop.Times are hard for this little shop because of the road construction in front of the shop. I dont want to lose them. Hope you will try some new flavors and support this local business.
Very welcoming and helpful. Nice selection and got some samples!
Finally our own private little oasis of spice grinders, unique sourcing, and majestic blends. If you are someone who is just learning to use spices this is a place where you will get a lot of easy “ try on” options. ( like a simple lime salt that will change your view on chicken or spices that will also change your view on mocktails) For those who are more experienced and like to work with deep flavors, oils, balsamic, this could be your new playland. Lovely new addition to the neighborhood and they also are invested in quality sourcing. But- The real reason to stop in is that it’s small, not overwhelming, and you’re gonna be able to get in and out with something a little bit fantastic!!
