I left the Spectacle Shoppe humming West Side Storys I feel pretty as I walked out with my glasses. The first time I entered the store, I remember being annoyed with the by appointment only sign, but now I know why its important. The Spectacle Shoppe focuses on personalized service. Jess and Joe understand that glasses are more than a practical tool. They spent hours helping me choose, try on, and build the pair that reflected me. They quickly earned my trust with their honesty (and excellent taste). After my final adjustment, we hugged! Thats a big deal for me because shopping for glasses is usually a painful experience! I cant recommend them enough. Thanks you two!

The best thing about this shop is the knowledge and friendliness of the sales people. The doctor was also knowledgeable. However, everytime I asked him a question, he made a stink face before responding. Kind of poor bedside manor. Also, while I was in the process of purchasing glasses, when I was quoted the price, it increased about $100 every time. Most expensive glasses Ill ever buy. I definitely will take my prescription and go elsewhere in the future. The glasses were delivered late and Im not sure if they have the blue light filtering I requested.

Went to the Minneapolis location. Best selection and customer service of any optical shop in my lifetime -- and Im old! Jess was a terrific, professional, patient staff and selected my final pair with pizzazz. The frames look hip, have some color and unusual highlights. As an extra, I discovered they were in-network with my eye insurance company, so my final price was below half the regular price. Whoosh! The chocolate and red rose was a smart way to say thanks. Glasses ready in about a week. Ive discovered my forever optical shop. A great retail experience, and thats not easy in 2021! *****

The spectacle shop definitely has the largest most diverse selection of all the optical shops in the area. They dont just measure you and wait for your order to come in from another city. I find the quality of their lenses to be higher, and they warranty their work. The staff has always worked diligently to help me and search for more options at their other stores. They are a cut above, and the first place to go when looking for a new pair of glasses.

I had a fabulous experience at the Spectacle Shoppe on Hennepin. All three store employees working when I stopped in were extremely helpful and once I had gotten an idea of what I was looking for they went around the store and picked out frames for me to try. They watched as I tried on different pairs and gave me their honest feedback. Once I had narrowed it down to five frames, each of the three employees again offered to look at them on me and rank their favorites. I was so impressed with the customer service - their knowledge, expertise, and willingness to provide feedback really helped me in making my choice. I ended up going with a pair that one of the staff found that I probably would have overlooked! I was told my glasses would be ready in 7-10 days and ended up getting a call two days later that my glasses were ready to be picked up. Overall a great experience - awesome store with a wide selection and wonderful staff!

I had the BEST experience here from start to finish. Dr. Baars was very personable. He explained everything very thoroughly and made the exam process quick and easy.Michaela, Max and Jess teamed up and put so much effort and care into making sure I found the perfect frames. (Dr. Baars joined in too.) Going in, I had been dreading the selection process but they made it so much fun! After I placed my order, my glasses were ready to be picked up 4 days later which was way quicker than I’ve experienced at other places.I am excited to come back to find my next pair!

I showed up to their annual party with good cookies and flowers and live music. I won a pair of glasses one year and bought. just the right pair the next year. Staff understood my request....glasses that are unique, but not bizarre, and they found the right ones.

I am very pleased with my experience. I looked all over the Twin Cities for an eyewear shop that had designer brand frames and Spectacle Shoppe had it all. I might be wrong on this but I believe they are the only place in town that carries Oliver Peoples. Everyone on their staff was super friendly, knowledgable, helped me understand my optical options, and even talked me through some of the current spectacle trends. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new pair of glasses.

We went here a few years and bought 3 pairs of glasses let me compare them to budget stores.customer service SS: 2 pretty snobby. pretty much made to feel unwelcome most visits. I did tell them how crummy the second pair of glasses work out and they did not seem too interestedQuality of service: SS 3 First pair of glasses 4. fit and could see out of them second pair of glasses: 1. Didnt fit, were uncomfortable, couldnt see out of them. Third pair of glasses 4, glasses were sturdy, and you could see out of them. One problem with SS glasses is that the lenses seemed to be of less high quality than the Zenni lenses based on ability to see with them.Optometrist. 4 visit one and 3 were 5s visit 2 was maybe a 3 because he seemed a little rushed. I think we might have been late.ZenniGlasses 4. They are not as sturdy as SS glasses but if you get the right size the looks and fit are the same or better.Lenses 5. The quality of the Zenni lenses were preferred over the last two glasses in terms of sharpness and clarity. Glasses 3 seemed to have some glare despite having antiglare coating applied.Price Zenni glasses 3 were around 90 bucks without insurance as opposed to SS 230 bucks after eyeglass insurance.Americas best. Yep, my mother in law went there and had a great experience and some really good looking glasses. She got a good prescription. Price is great. I cant take the punishment anymore, I am going there next sorry.

Spectacle Shoppe in Uptown is a fantastic place to get new glasses! I walked in without any expectations, or even knowledge about the business, and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. Dr. Tyler Baars was polite and professional during the eye exam. He communicated everything about the process in a clear and friendly way. After my exam, Hannah was a rock star at helping me pick out frames. It took her less than five minutes to talk with me about my style and look at my face before she was able to choose the frame that I ultimately selected. Her choice was right from the beginning, which was seriously impressive. If youre looking for a great experience choosing new eyewear, look no further than Spectacle Shoppe!

Spectacle Shoppe on Hennepin has a fantastic staff working there. When I got my glasses last year, I remember feeling like I got the most accurate prescription Ive ever had, and they even asked me If I wanted a copy of it to take with me. In the past Ive experienced some other eye clinics getting fussy about this. They have many styles to choose from and I felt no pressure at all throughout the whole experience. During my most recent visit, they replaced a little rubber nose piece I had lost on my glasses and I was again reminded of how kind the people working there are.

Super creepy commercials.... I wouldnt normally review a business I havent patronized but geez - I just heard their commercial on the radio and that alone is enough to keep me from going there. What the hell even was that?

I got my new glasses at Spectacle Shoppe a couple months ago, and I love them. They have a huge selection of unworn vintage frames, and I was able to find frames big enough for my enormous head 😂The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and did not pressure me in any way. I originally walked in saying I was just looking, but I walked out with my new glasses the day I ordered them. I didnt even know that was possible! I brought my partner back the next day, and they got a new pair as well.Prices are pretty reasonable, comparable to most other places in the area. The vintage frames are all one price, so it makes buying a new pair really easy.I really cannot recommend this place enough, great selection, friendly staff, and decent prices. I will be coming back for many years to come.

This place is amazing. Super great customer service and lovely people who helped me find my next awesome pair of glasses who were as excited about them as I was. Brought me tea and got my glasses ready in house. The optometrist was awesome. Seriously the best optical shop I have EVER been to in my 20 years of glasses wearing.

Awesome experience. I had looked on my own at many shapes and sizes. Lydia brought me her first recommendation and it was perfect. Im having fun wearing glasses again. I had to return to have them adjusted once the next day, but they responded quickly, efficiently and effectively. I will be back!

Well-staffed with the kindest, most helpful people. Ive had a three previous successful experiences here, and today, recceived a very thorough eye exam and feel I was given the most accurate prescription Ive ever had. The optometrist also recommended other products that I needed and was overall a great provider.Eye glass selection is SPECTACULAR. I dont feel this Shoppe is overpriced, especially for Uptown. Go.

For me this was the ultimate Spectacle Shoppe! I would have been totally overwhelmed with the choices available had it not been for the assistance provided helping me to narrow down the options best suited for my face and life style. The opinions given WHEN REQUESTED were very helpful. A trip to this shop is an adventure even if you dont need corrective lenses! I bought two pair, one for everyday use and the other for protection from the glare of the sun (vintage french frames from the 50s) one of a kind!

This is the best glasses shop I’ve ever been to. They have an amazing selection and will even adjust the height and shape of the lens to fit your face and style better. I recently moved away and was back in town for a visit. I had a pair of glasses I bought from another shop that weren’t fitting correctly and were giving me a headache. They happily helped me to figure out what was wrong with them and to reshape them to be more comfortable. I had gone to a few other shops in my new city before and none of them were able to make them fit right. These folks are amazing!

I needed to get a lens put back in that had popped out from a pair of glasses purchased in Massachusetts. This was a great location and open on Sunday!! Joe was extremely helpful, got the lens in and then cleaned them in the ultrasonic cleaner. He even knew that the frames were made in St. Louis Park - news to me!The shop has a fabulous selection of frames and is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Nobody has a more amazing selection or better staff! I have had so many compliments for the glasses I got there 3 years ago that I was reluctant to replace them. Spend an hour on Saturday working with a great sales person and I swear I tried on EVERY pair...but I found them! Cant wait to pick them up and show them off. I will never shop anywhere else.
