Just go, you wont regret it for a second and youll never go to another optical shop again - I know I havent!For years, I searched the area for a great optical shop. Ive tried nearly all the well known and many of the lesser known ones. Then about 10 years ago, I found Owl Optical and Ive never had to look anywhere else again.The staff is amazing - extremely knowledgeable, super helpful, and friendly as can be. I feel more like an old friend or family when Im there and I 100% believe that they want long term customers with whom they can build real relationships - not just to sell you something like so many other shops in the area. Theyve really helped guide me to frames that I would not have picked on my own, but which Ive been the happiest with that Ive ever been with how my frames look, feel, and perform.Then theres their selection which IMO is far above anywhere else Ive gone in terms of uniqueness, quality, and style. They even have special asian-fit frames (Im not asian, so I cant really speak about those in detail) and are super accommodating of whatever special needs or issues you might have. They have frames that are locally made as well as frames from smaller, more boutique vendors, and some of the most prestigious global brands as well.Their expertise on lens selection is one of the other things that won me over as a loyal client. They introduced me to the various types of progressive lenses and when I found digital progressives Ive never gone back to the old kind that all the other shops in town sold me.Prices at Owl Optical are also really competitive, but I would happily pay more for their service, knowledge, and simply knowing that Im going to be happy as heck with whatever I get.It might also be worth mentioning that they have on on-site optometrist and my prescriptions have been super accurate. No issues like Ive had elsewhere in the past.What else can I say? Owl Optical is simply the best optical shop Ive ever found. I wont be going anywhere else as long as theyre around!

I had a great experience when Owl was in St Paul and followed them to their Minneapolis store for new glasses. Ashley chose a pair of frames that were perfect. When I had a concern about the frame after I had them for a few days, she worked her magic and exchanged the original frame for one that met my expectations. Great customer service, my glasses fit, and it is so easy to focus even with a complicated prescription. It was worth the drive!

I have a very strong prescription and astigmatism so its hard to find lenses that work for me. This is the first place where I found lenses that are perfect! Plus, the variety of upscale frames to choose from is remarkable. Im a tough eyeglass customer, but if Owl Optical can satisfy me, they can satisfy anyone!

Premium, independent glasses brands at high but reasonable prices. Not the largest selection in the world but every pair is distinct and pretty. Owned by a local couple with the most precious dog, support local business :)

I just bought the FRESHEST pair of glasses Ive ever owned. I am historically a Warby guy, and Ive grown tired of their selection and quality. I wanted glasses that fit my face, my personality, and stand out to people who appreciate a quality accessory. Wish I would have stopped into Owl 4 pairs of Warbys ago. Also, the staff was great - fun and passionate about their products.

Ashley was so knowledgeable in glasses that would work for me. Ive been wearing glasses/contacts for over 20 years and Ive never in my adult life (even childhood) can I remember having such a great experience. Ashley took the time help me understand why I didnt like my previous glasses and also explained how they should fit and why my new ones fit like a dream. Such a great experience. I didnt know picking out glasses could be so great.

The staff at Owl Optical are top notch. By understanding my needs, and not trying to oversell me, they saved me *hundreds* of dollars on replacement lenses for my sunglasses! Ill be back for any future sunglasses purchases, thanks a bunch.

Easy to make an online appointment, but they didnt read the notes and so were slightly taken aback when it turned out the appointment was for my son, not me. The doctor, who isnt actually affiliated with the frame shop, was quick and thorough and amiable enough. We wont be purchasing frames there because their style is way more bespoke hipster than we need/want for our child, and theres just the tiniest bit of attitude which I could do without. They had toys for kids to play with and the shop is clean and orderly, were just probably not their target customer.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Owl Optical. First time in 25 years that Ive sincerely liked my glasses. The staff were very patient and extremely helpful in finding a frame that fitted my face and myself. I get so many compliments. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVED this store. Ashley was super friendly and kind, very patient with me having no clue what I wanted, extremely knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She took great care to explain why certain frames might be a better or worse choice, as well as going over my options, and making sure that I was comfortable with (and excited about!) my purchase and that I didnt feel pressured.I also LOVE that as a point of policy and pride they DO NOT stock any Luxottica-owned brands (and that their lenses are made in Duluth! yay local businesses!).The price was a little more than I was hoping to pay because they were out of network for me (the doctor who did my eye exam was in-network, so that was covered), and because I had been planning to purchase glasses that werent as nice... but Ashley made sure to be very clear that it was okay if I just got the exam and came back when I was a little more flush to purchase glasses, or that I could pay for the frames and then wait to purchase the lenses, or that a payment plan was a possibility (bearing in mind obviously that the balance would need to be completely paid before the lenses were ordered!). She also took A TON of time to find a wide selection of frames she thought might fit my face (seriously, probably around 30 options), with almost all of them being from their clearance, and then talked me through each pair.I dont think Ill buy glasses from anywhere else!!

After years of buying cheap glasses online, I finally decided to treat myself to a grown up pair of glasses with nice lenses and pretty frames. Julie helped me work through a number of options to get my first grown up glasses purchase to work for all my activities and look good, too. Really good shop. Owl optical has well curated, eclectic collection of glasses you wouldnt find at chain stores. Theyve got Matsuda and Seraphin, which are tougher to find makes in the twin citites, as well as a slew of other great options. The customer service was on point and overall it was a great experience.
