There were boards on all the windows of this place when I visited, so I thought it was an abandoned storefront, but there was a sign on the plywood covering the door saying open. Even though I was sure I would be killed and eaten as soon as I stepped inside, it turned out to be a comic book store, and a pretty good one at that! The place is so stuffed with comic books that you might feel a bit claustrophobic, but the people working there were friendly and they even had some original 30 year old weekly Shonens from Japan. Overall this place is great. I didnt even know comic stores like this one still existed. Support this store if you can, they deserve it.
Still in store shopping.
I have been going there for years. Just stopped by with my boys, 9 and 11. They were just as impressed as I always am. Nostalgia Zone is the best comic shop I have ever set foot in. Well organized, friendly, fairly priced and stocked with an overwhelming variety of comic books.
The person working was great and friendly. I got help finding what I needed and he was knowledgeable. And there was no girl-reading-comics weird vibe. Ill stop by again next time Im in town.
A treasure trove of vintage collectibles for old timers like myself. The guys behind the counter have a lifetime of knowledge and experience for you to rely upon. Become a member and you can find bargains in every corner. You cant miss. This is one of a handful of essential stores in the Twin Cities area...perhaps the most essential.
It was a really fun walking into this shop. Wall to wall books and a lot of cheap discount comics that I always enjoy looking through. The man running the place was super nice and helpful with looking up some books I was trying to get my hands on. Would definitely go back if Im ever in that area again
This is the kind of Comic book shop you want. Dusty shelves, piles of comics, twists and turns. Areas where that one Comic youve been looking for might just be. Selection varies, they get new product in all the time, and product goes out all the time. Such is the ways of a CBS.I enjoy my visit, I was there for a couple hours. I think my only issue, and yours will be pricing. If youre looking for deals on some comics, you might not find it, they use various sources which arguably price up issues. Im not talking Hulk 161 here, bit early 90s stuff that was produced in glut that prices have not gotten higher, but either are just at or well under book pricing (new). They have a free membership that saves you 10% and a reward system Im not entirely sure about either, and deals via email on occasion, that comes with a list of whats new in store. Thats a cool feature.I dont agree with organization, some of it is alphabetical backwards, and that can play tricks on where yr looking or going. Eventually youll find what youre looking for, if its there. All in all it has the hallmarks of a decent in product shop, but be wary on what you might be spending. Support the locals, keep comics alive, read, read read!
This place was a fun visit. There is something for everyone here and the prices a great. If you sign up on there website you can get a discount on products in the store. There were 10 boxes of $.25 comics so I was able to dumpster dive as well as pick up some back issues I needed. The place is a little disorganized, but if you can get beyond that, its a gem. Well worth checking out!
My girlfriend and I try to make it to Nostalgia Zone about once a month. We love the staff and owner of the store. They know us by name despite only being there once a month. If you are not willing to dig for what you are looking for, it may be a little overwhelming but if you are willing to dig through the boxes and look through the walls covered in back issues, you be satisfied. Not once have we walked out emptied handed. It is a treasure chest of a store.
Great selection. Wonderful service. Join there email list!
This place is dope! I found some comics Ive been looking for in great condition for a great price and they gave me a membership discount my first time there. The person working there was also super patient, helpful, and nice. I will be back there often!
Lots of books but 80% of them are in plastic with no backboards. The staff is great and very knowledgeable but the prices on all their books make no sense and are way higher then going price. I found several books that I wanted that go for around $20 on ebay and other shops and they had them for over $100 in mid to low grades. Great place to stop by but not a great place to buy books.
Neat store. Space was economical. Lots comics. Some memorabilia. Nice guy working.
Simply the best! Always helpful and friendly! The folks here have always tried to find exactly what we are looking for, and rarely disappoint. They have an incredible selection and if you dont see what youre looking for, all you have to do is ask.
Employee was polite. Small place. Would be hard for handicap.
I didnt have enough time, but I enjoyed a few hours looking through a ton of Archie books and other esoteric Golden Age back issues. Very helpful and friendly staff. Found a handful of nice books to add to the collection.
If youre looking for a back issue of something they probably have it.
The two fellows in there are awesome. And have a lot of knowledge when it comes to comics
Its got that dusty old comic shop charm plus they have good deals on graphic novels.
Theres a lot of cool stuff here, but its so disorganized and just piled in boxes. I prefer to buy collections at a time but couldnt find anything that wasnt missing volumes-- or they werent in the same place. Ignored the whole time I was there, which is usually find in a nerd shop, but without any direction on how things are organized it was hard to find anything I wanted to buy.
My favorite comic store! Great collection to choose from and very friendly staff. A+++
Fun shop. Staff was nice.
Love exposing comic book shops, this ones a favorite
Fun space, excellent collection, staff is extremely knowledgable.
Great place for back issues.
One of the best comic book stores! They have everything and great prices
When growing up with comic books this will bring that kid in you love the store great help and service .
The place to find back-issue floppy comic books in the Twin Cities. They have a huge selection of old comic books, which I believe is mostly searchable on their website. If you are like me its a lot more fun to dig around in the boxes in their store, though. There is some real treasure in those cheap boxes... I scored a Kamandi #1 in decent shape for a buck, and they had other copies of it as well! Besides the fun I have had browsing, Ive also sold some of my old comics there. They gave me a fair price and I managed to fill in some annoying gaps in my collection. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well.
Be warned. this place has NO NEW COMICS. its strictly back issue land. however as a back issue shop its paradise.
Excellent selection, friendly knowedgeable staff who really know their comics
The owner is wonderful and knowledgeable...informed me of other stock in back and is willing to go look for you
