Cant believe it took me so long to come here! I had a fussy zipper on a well-loves garment, their staff diagnosed the issue fast and had it repaired in minutes. This one was a simple slider replacement, so Im sure other services may take longer. But I really appreciated their willingness to take the few minutes to get my repair done in the middle of their other things. Not worth dropping a star, but I do wish they had quoted me the (exceptionally reasonable) cost before starting work. I will be back!

Yes yes yes! My newish Patagonia jacket was split open by the pocket while being washed. I thought about paying for a new jacket and then remembered Repair Lair! I took the jacket in and they quoted me a very reasonable price & time for a repair. They mentioned they used to be an authorized Patagonia repair shop so they had matching fabric and wow, Im impressed! The jacket looks BRAND NEW and you barley can see the repair. So excited to tell all my friends about repair lair. Highly recommend!!!

Love these guys! Brought in my 15+ year old Walrus tent with a blown out zipper thinking it might cost me a $100+ to fix, and Aidan quickly inspected the condition of the teeth, and said they looked fine, and it was just the two sliders that were bad. $30 and a couple days later (WOW) I had my front door on my tent working like new!! (loved the cool little Repair Lair green pulls on the sliders too ;-) Jazzed to get back out into the wild (screw you mosquitos!! you cant get me now! :) Huge thanks and kudos to the team at Repair Lair!

Decided to check this place out based on the rave reviews and supporting a Lake St. business (Southside we outside!). But overall had just an OK/unsatisfactory experience with the work Repair Lair had performed on my items.To start, you grab a ticket at the front, write notes about the repair/item and hand over to the desk in the back. I brought in two items, my Wife’s Vintage LV satchel, and a Supreme backpack both having zipper issues. Within 24 hours, I was notified that my items were ready for pickup. No call prior to the start of the work? That’s a normal thing that tailors do that Repair Lair doesn’t.As I go into the store for pickup, the first thing I noticed was a huge, ugly CARHARTT zipper thrown onto the Louis Vuitton satchel. The girl working did say they may not be able to repair prior to my dropoff. However, if they called prior and let me know this was how they were going to repair the item, I would’ve declined. They did a great job on my Supreme backpack, as they just threw new YKK zippers on (albeit slightly larger than the original but not a big deal).However, what irked me most was the service I received from a younger, high school aged employee who got offended when I asked what was done with the original hardware? The backpack toggles, the Louis Vuitton zippers? Instead of helping he was short and said “you should’ve said that prior to the repair, who knows they maybe lost”. I am a paying customer trusting a business to perform an advertised service, my job isn’t to tell you how to do yours. After coming back the next day, I met the owner, Nancy who was great. She supplied the missing hardware and talked me through the LV Zipper.The only thing still irking me is that I paid full price for a repair on that satchel, but now have to end up going to another repair shop to get the original zippers back on.

The Repair Lair is amazing! The staff is friendly and efficient and they gave a variety of new and used camping gear and clothing. They were very helpful, more than willing to go the extra mile!

Went to get our giant tent zipper repaired and they were able to finish it in 30 min for 20$. They are a great shop with a lot of cool things. Definitely going if we have anymore zipper/ tent issues!

Really like this place for previously owned camping, hiking, outdoor gear. I recently bought a tent and sleeping pads from them. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The gear I bought was previously used but in great shape and inspected prior to my purchasing it, while I was there so I could see what I was getting. It all works great and I love supporting a great local business. Needless to say, Im a happy customer who will return here for future needs or gear repairs. 100% would recommend.

I went for a sleeping bag and to browse for other items, and they were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave me some good pointers for what to look for in a sleeping bag and helped me out with some other items as well. I left off one star due to the price of the sleeping bag which seemed to be a good deal at the time compared to bags Ive seen in other stores. When I returned home I did some searching on the bag and found that I maybe paid more for it then I should have which was disappointing. Nevertheless, the store is still a great local place to support and find a lot of great gear.

Awesome store for repairs! I emailed them about a broken zipper and a hole in my favorite down jacket, and the owner was very helpful and responsive. I brought the jacket into the store and they were 1) able to replace the zipper in 10 minutes while I waited and 2) recommended a fix on the jacket that saved time and money compared to my original idea. Will be back to browse used gear as it looked like a great selection.

Wonderful place to fix your clothing. I took my purse and my down jacket (both had some zipper issues) there after an other store wanted to overcharge me. The two young men working there were very nice and they took a look my down jacket and was abled fixed the zipper in 5 mistunes. As my purse, I left it there about a week and they called me when it was ready to pick up. I was very happy with the result and the fee were very reasonable. I recommend repair lair. Small shop thats been there for years but I just found out about it. Another place said my entire jacket sipper and YKK seam needed to be replaced, but Repair Lair took it in while I waited and within 10 minutes, I had a new, working zipper. Outstanding. Also sells used outdoor gear and clothing. Unique place. Highly recommend.

Stopped into the Repair Lair today to get a zipper fixed. I was helped immediately and browsed while the zipper was fixed. My jacket was fixed in 20 min and cost $10. So great! Called today, and we were able to bring our hammock down right away. They said if its a quick fix they could do it now but theyd have to take a look first. If it was a more difficult fix it could be a week. Phil was able to get it done in about 10 minutes. Thanks so much!

I like coming here periodically because there is such a changeover of all the items that they have here.I felt really heard when I asked questions extremely experienced staff. High quality repairs. And far more better items than you would expect. I had a lot of great deals here over the last couple years.

I brought in a brand new ski jacket that I was having trouble zipping, and although the person helping was able to zip it very easily she actually showed me how this style of zipper was constructed differently than others (never even occurred to me that there were different zipper constructions!!). I have dexterity challenges and needed a coat that I can zip easily, so she showed me some coats and I found one that worked better for me. It was wonderfully easy and I will absolutely go back there again for outdoor equipment! Many thanks for no hassle, a fair exchange and a great new coat I can actually zip up!!!

A wonderful hidden gem of Minneapolis if youre looking for discounted outdoor equipment. This place has a great selection of refurbished and used outdoor gear from backpacks to apparel to tents and other equipment. The staff is great, super knowledgeable and very genuine. Ive been able to find killer deals on great items here, and the stock is always changing. They also have a very nice dog that hangs out in the store.

(As much as id like to keep this gem a secret, i need people to visit and sell their stuff so i can get more incredible deals!)Super relaxed atmosphere, buy and sell for great deals on used-but-useful gear. You can even haggle a little.

Found this place online and stopped by to have them look at a small tear in my down jacket. I walked in, she took a quick look at it and said she could put a quick patch on it or take little more time re-sew in a new piece of fabric for a little more. I elected for the patch and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Super friendly and helpful!

This place is incredible! Amazing prices on great, gently used or repaired outdoor equipment. Lots of winter wear like sweaters jackets, heavy cots and boots. And you can always find interesting and unusual items. Friendly service and always willing to take care of your questions. I cant recommend this place enough! Repair Lair is a great place for the reduce/reuse/recycle ethic. Please understand that this is not a consignment shop, however. It is a business where you donate your clothing and equipment and then it is resold for others to enjoy. I may have been able to get behind that model had I known that in advance, but would have appreciated truth in advertising so I could make that decision myself as to whether to sell my stuff on my own, donate here, or donate to a nonprofit.

Weak policies. They were unwilling to work/repair a worn jacket. Would not recommend. Required I drive back across town to tape and wash a already damaged jacket, putting it at higher risk.Poor standards as a company, it’s clear when you walk in.*update, they were going to charge me $60. The second place I went with, charged me $20 without the inconvenience and lack of service.

Ive been to this place many times. Very knowledgeable in their gear and always helpful. I went in yesterday so they could repair a zipper on my rainfly and they did it on the spot. This was super convenient because I headed out for a week long camping trip. I didnt even ask them to do it right away! I now go here before anywhere else.

Lots of second hand gear that looks like new, repairs are really high quality and fast. I brought my bike over to see if she could repair some straps on my cargo bags, she said if you can take them off right now Ill fix them and get you back on the road. Totally great service and even gave my kids a gift on their birthday. Great place.

I took my absolute favorite pair of gortex outerwear pants to be fixed. They were shredded on the inside ankle area and I wasnt too hopeful, but the Repair Lair fixed them right up. Theyll last me another several years! And the cost was so reasonable. I also love the choices of good used gear at decent prices.

I hafta say, I spoke wirh owner, Nancy, and she did make it right with me after we talked. She was very friendly and wanted to correct problem with me.I would still chk to make sure they can actually do what u want done.Would not recommend getting zippers repaired here!! Stay away!! I was told she could fix it and then furns put she really couldnt but she didnt talk with me before this, even tho in store, and did a sorta fix it temporarily and they have a minimum 15$ chargeSo now I will hafta go pay someone else more money when I would have done that originally if she had told me she couldnt in the 1st place! Make sure you have every detail specifically mapped out!!! But, I would think again before going there for zipper repair! And just know they have a minimum of 15$ charge.

The owner is super friendly! There is a theme of fashionable outdoors wear, but I still found a fantastic Anthropologie kimono. Love the selection of quality sweaters, (gorgeous Nordic sweaters!) lovely mens and womens clothing with some quirky finds. Also a nice section of gently used athletic wear for a fraction of the new price including hiking boots!

Per my mother I tried to get the screen house pole replaced and had a very rude encounter with a gal at the repair lair. She said she could have told over the phone that she couldnt fix and that I needed to contact the manufacturer then she asked me where I bought it and yelled at me for buying anything on Amazon. Not the best way to get business. I would have asked her more questions but she clearly didnt want to talk to me.

Its a consignment store and repair store.... They repaired some Gore-tex motorcycle pants, so they are flexible. And the owner is truly special.... You better check it out... And hipsters can rejoice, I saw a few 1980s pastel/hi-vis color scheme snow suits... Truly a neat place

I came in to have a pocket zipper repair, something I assumed would be difficult. The owner of the shop talked me through the process. I was surprised to get a call the next day saying that my jacket was finished. Repair Lair is speedy and efficient. They make the repairs in house and are locally owned. I am proud that these guys are around.

I brought in two sleeping bags with different kinds of tears in them. The first needed a basic seam repair, but it was long, like longer than 6 inches. The other one my old washing machine ate and it needed a patch (dont put wash your sleeping bags in a top loader kids!). The patch was going to be a lot more work but I needed the bags for camping in 4 days so they recommended using a heavy fabric tape. For the two repairs it was only $20! And they had the bags ready a day early. The stitches are clean and strong and the tape held up well, even in the rain.I might break a few other things and bring them in soon. Im really impressed with the repair lair, they have good customer service and they do quality work.
