Great haircut, very professional & friendly hair stylist.

Used to be fantastic but last few times I been there just feels mediocre.. like I’m at great clips or some cost cutters. Always like FS because they were a cut above but this year they just been not giving the same fantastic vibes :(

Couldn’t get into my usual barbershop until the next week, but needed a cut before then, so I went looking for a chain haircut shop thinking that they would have openings right away. I got an appointment next day. Service was friendly, but I simply didn’t get the haircut that I asked for. I asked for a fade on the sides, but got a straight cut instead. Furthermore, I have a lineup on the front of my head that has to be cut back very carefully; the lineup was pushed back a full half inch, and now I will have to grow it out, as it’s not really a lineup anymore, I’m just missing a huge chunk of hair on the front of my head. I really thought I could go to any barbershop and that I’d be able to receive a decent lineup and fade, but my faith in chain shops has been even lessened. As I said, friendly service, but the cut was below average. I will not be returning.

I had the best experience here with Donna! She was far above average in her hair cutting skills and I am more than pleased! It was a real pleasure to get my hair cut here and I will surely be back!

I had a great experience, this man was conservative with cutting my hair and he cut my hair to suit my request. He also seemed to understand a bit about blind/low vision persons which is a bonus so I didnt need to explain myself at all.

Got in for a quick haircut today with Chuck. During the afternoon on a Monday so almost no wait time which was nice. Bit of an older building so nothing fancy as far as the aesthetic but overall, very good. Chuck was very nice and did a great job.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. I needed a trim because my hair was getting heavy in the hot weather. Leyla did a great job, and has helped me in the past as well. As far as Fantastic Sams go this is one of the more stable as far as Staffing is concerned. Several of these ladies have been here for many years.

Tried to walk in on a Saturday at open....bad idea. Booked until late afternoon. I had other business in the area and happened to walk by again going to my car and the person working ran out after me to tell me there was a no show and she could squeeze me in!! She got me in, got me trimmed up, and on my way in no time. She was also super friendly and kept a good conversation. I would absolutely go back here for another cut....Ill just be sure to call ahead for an appointment next time!! 😉

I have had my daughter and my own hair done here for several years and I have nothing but good things to say! All of the stylists have been great some with some even better then others. I have been to nearly all of them. Layla, Donna, and Beth (to name a few) are great and listen to what you want. Just speak up and tell them if something is not perfect and they will always make sure you leave happy. Love this place! Its another gem of South Minneapolis.

I wish I could give it a zero. I had very long hair and went in with an 8x10 colored picture of a shoulder length haircut that I wanted. When she cut the first handful of hair I right away said thats pretty short. Thats not the length in the picture. She poo-pooed me and said it will be fine. Three times during the cut I said this is not looking like the picture. She would pause and look at the picture and then put it on the next stylists station. If I had wanted a short haircut, I wouldve requested one. Seriously, you come with a picture and still do not get what you want. Never again.

Kelsey shaved the sides of my head for me today. She did a very good job and was friendly and funny into the bargain. The other hair stylist joined the conversation when their last customer was done. It was a good hair cut and a very pleasant experience all around. I will go back.

I had Chuck today, love the haircut. I have very thick, long, curly hair and i wanted about 2/3 of it cut off. I got exactly what i wanted and we had a fun conversatiom during. I will most definitely be returning to this salon many many many times. Highly suggest Chuck, he is amazing at what he does ! ☺

I got this haircut from this woman named Tiffany. Never had a haircut which lasted less than seven minutes and this dresser did not even draw the hair partition properly. I have had better experience at this place. But after this experience I am never gonna be their customer ever again. Thank You

Kelsey has been cutting and highlighting my hair for about a year now. She is terrific and I always receive compliments on her work. The atmosphere at this location of FS looks and feels like a regular salon with highly qualified, friendly stylists but with affordable prices. I was nervous about going here the first time because I was used to Aveda type salons, but I didnt need to be nervous - the quality is just as good. My husband started going to Kelsey too. I highly recommend!

Kelsey has been my go-to for years, mostly doing full foils. She does amazing work and is so fun to chat with during these long hear appointments, highly recommend!

The lady who answered the phone this morning is responsible for the bad review. I called to see if there was any availability to schedule my mom an appointment. When she asked for what type of service, which was for color, I started explaining what my mom wanted and Im no hair expert. I said grey highlights the lady replied those dont even exsist . I continued to ask her if there was a way she could check in their system to see what she got done before as my mom has been there several times and she replied I could but we dont have anything available for today anyway. I thanked her for her time and hanged up. I understand I called first thing in the morning but she wasnt helpful and very rude she could have replied by saying yes I can check that for you and is there another day of the week that your mom can come in. I dont think my mom, my son or I will be back there again.

I was told I would be getting less than 2 inches cut off to make the ends look better. 3+ inches and up to 8 inches off with the LONG layers I asked for. I need to find somewhere to get it fixed. Another 2 inches to make it look evened out. My original 2 inches I wanted turned into 5-8. If you value your long hair DO NOT go here. I wont even go into the fact I was over charged.

Came in for a haircut. I swear the lady that cut my hair probably did it for the first time. I had lines all over and the two sides of my head were very uneven. I understand this is a cheap hair salon but I expected to have better service than that.

Decent hair cuts, but I couldnt believe how rude the woman was when telling me that they dont carry Paul Mitchell products and that they never have.She made sure to tell me that not all salons carry the same products, and did so in a very rude and condescending tone of voice, then sarcastically asked me if my salon had ran out.Will not be returning as per that womans poor attitude.

Make sure you are specific.The salon artist did as I asked: to cut off all the dead ends. But they parted my hair down the middle (which I told them I never do) and proceeded to cut it, resulting in an awkward chunk on one side when I parted it as I normally do.

Very disappointed. She didnt wash my hair for the price. She didnt seem to care what she was doing with my hair. What I her was wrong with my hair is still wrong w my hair. Not impressed.

Fantastic Sams on S 34th in Minneapolis is a great place for a haircut. Last night at 6:55pm I called and asked if she could fit me in (they close at 8pm!). She said if I got there quick she could do it at 7:15pm (she had another booked at 7:30pm & 7:45 and was the only stylist there), didnt even ask my name. I walk in at 7:10 behind 2 walk-ins, figuring I was out of luck. After she entered their names, she looked at me and all I said was, I called. When she finished the woman who was already in the chair, she looks at all 3 of us and says to me, Youe next!. Honored her word, followed proper procedure and was friendly as can be. On top of that, I got a top notch haircut in about 12 minutes, maybe 10 (I didnt look at the time until I was seated a minute or two, tops). Great job!

I had a haircut with Kelsey and it was great! I brought in pictures and walked around the rest of the day knowing I was about to be discovered off the street as the next model superstar I looked so good.

The staff is always super kind when we stop by.

I dont know too much but hair, but I described what I was looking for and he turned into a perfect haircut.

My hair is all new growth, since coming off chemo 12 months ago, and is coming in very dark (I was a natural blonde). Two salons made me orange and brassy; but Beth knocked it out of the park. If you need perfect color, you need to see Beth at Fantastic Sam’s, 50th & 34th Avenue in South Minneapolis. She knows what she’s doing, and clearly has a passion for it. Five stars is too few........

So I show up to get a haircut before 5 and got there before 5, and say Id like a haircut.. They say nope we close at five...I say thats ok i dont need a good haircut, anyone will do...She says..you get nothing..I say your kidding right?She says nope..So I say youre sign says youre openIts not 5..She says nope, flips the sign off......Great Customer Service.....I guess I should have checked reviews..Who turns away a customer, who shows up before the doors are locked and before closing time?..Fantastic Sams does, thats who....Very disappointing..To Management:Theres a lot of room for improvement..
