Don restored a late 1800s Camel Back steamer trunk that is a family heirloom from descendants that came from Sweden via Ellis Island. I am so pleased with the finished product. The goal was to clean up and restore, but not to a new finish. Also, arresting any rust and decay of the wood and metal. I highly recommend Golden Age Furniture Restoration!

We have a 1900 Victorian house with all the original doors and windows. Don has done an excellent job both times we have used him. There are very few craftsmen who can handle the level of detail Don does. If you are looking for a highly skilled restoration, Golden Age is the place to go.

Just stopped in yesterday with my dads old Hand made chess set. Turns out at that is probably walnut not ebony. Anyway was super happy about the service and I cant wait to see it once its been repaired after my kids did what kids do and made the service nessicary.

Don was great to work with, and he was able to repair two reclaimed wood desktops that had split/cracked in multiple places. Ill be back again.

Best Minneapolis Furniture Refishing ever! Had some work done by these guys and it was a great experience! Its a family owned shop run by three very talented artisans.Would suggest to anyone!

Took a rocking chair there for repair; one of the rockers (the curved pieces of wood on the bottom) was split, and a wedge-shaped piece of wood from the side of the seat was missing. They did new damage: the finish in the reglued area of the rocker was dulled, there was a new gouge in that area, there was a glue spill by the repaired area, and the missing piece of the seat was replaced by a blob of wood putty. The first of these things that I noticed was the glue spill, which was denied with the response “Wherrre? Whaaat? ” When I took the chair to a second shop to have the new damage repaired, they said, among other things, that the finish was dulled because when the two broken pieces had not stayed lined up completely after being reglued, Golden Age had simply sanded down the areas that were sticking up. After I stopped payment on my check to Golden Age and notified its owner, he did apologize and even offered to pay the new repair costs (an offer I refused because I didnt want him involved any more, in any way).
