This place is always amazing however today was our first time ever being seated at the bar. We got to watch everyone work it from the front lines. I’m amazed at how they are so on top of it. They all work as a team starting from the cooks to the servers. Phenomenal team work and service! Highly recommend!
The setting and ambiance was top notch! I was very impressed with the interior design of the place.Unfortunately there is not a full bar so the drink selection is lacking.The chicken was absolutely delicious and so crispy! The French fries I highly doubt were sourced locally as the menu stated and our waitress was very inattentive and also gave of the impression that she didn’t like her job. So that was a disappointment. Actually ended up just leaving money before the bill 🤦🏽♂️ smh, but the chicken was definitely worth giving the place a second try!
I would give this place a solid 4.5. The greeter was not paying attention to what I said and put me down for a table of 5 instead of 2. Which added an unnecessary 30 minute wait.Food: food was amazing. I ordered the eggs Benedict and she had the tacos. Both were excellent. So we’re the potatoes and the French toast. Only thing I would say is that they didn’t bring our drinks in a timely manner and it was more on the cold side.Service: our waiter could’ve been a little more attentive but it wasn’t too bad.Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Classic Midwest Brunch place in the Third Ward. Vibrant energy with excellent service. The food is excellent - and more than filling. Great place to satisfy a tragic headache from a night of over indulgence. Good on em, but they even serve an omelet with cheese curds in it. Once nice touch, while you are waiting (and you will wait) - they have an outdoor bar for coffee, irish coffee, and bloodies for you to sip while you queue to get into the restaurant.
This is a fantastic brunch spot. On a sunny Saturday morning, there was a wait. But there was a large waiting room serving coffee, mimosas, bloody Marys, and a few other drinks while you wait. The meat lovers scramble was fantastic, and a side of chive biscuits makes a great addition. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and fast with everything. Well be back for sure.
Entire experience was incredible! Customer service was stellar, they have a very health safe environment with a waiting area for guests to stay 6 feet apart. Waiters were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious!! The vibe in this restaurant was very modern along with the decor and lighting that were beautiful. Highly recommend!
Simply Delightful! Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and even better breakfast. The Mediterranean Benedict was divine and cup of coffee delicious. If you’re looking for a way to romanticize your morning: I’d recommend putting on a favorite wardrobe style staple and heading over to Sweet Diner for a terrific time.
Aside from their wifi not really connecting to view the online menu and the waitresses needing to locate physical menus (took ~15 minutes), the experience was great. From the atmosphere/decor, cleanliness, down to the delicious food and boozy brunch drinks. This place does not disappoint. Will definitely be back.
While we did have a little bit of a wait time to be seated, the breakfast was definitely worth the wait!The chocolate chip pancakes are super delicious, and with the extras like butter and syrup makes it a top tier item.And the desert I got as a birthday item was a really good pairing too. Ice cream with French toast and berries and strawberries was super fresh and creamy.Definitely want to come back for another special day.
Breakfast at Sweet Diner was perfect. We went on a weekday morning, so we didnt have trouble getting a table for two adults plus a toddler. Our waitress was attentive and got us our food and drinks almost immediately, and she was great with our son. They do have a kids menu, which is not listed on their website, but everything ran between 5 and 8 dollars. The adult menu had anything you could want for breakfast. I got the berry Belgian waffle, which was COVERED in berries and berry syrup. It was delicious. My husband got the Biscuits and Gravy Eggs Benedict with the potatoes as his side, and he said it was amazing. The potatoes were excellent--crispy on the outside and flavorful. The silver dollar puddles for our son were the perfect amount. He ate three and took a couple home for leftovers. The coffee was also great. Im excited to come back to try more of the menu options!
Food is great. Even better than I expected as no complains at all. The service could be better, waiter wasn’t very attentive so it took some time for her to do everything right. They have a two hours waiting line for breakfast. So I think line could move faster if the waiter service was improved. Overall had a good experience and are willing to go there again. The four stars rating because of the service only.
This was my wife and I first time at Sweet and we absolutely loved it. Ive never been one to care about aesthetics when it comes to restaurants but Sweet Diner blew me away with how the space looks, the music, the servers attire, and the food it all just looks so pleasing to the eye, ears and taste buds. I wish I knew his name but our server was absolutely fantastic, made great recommendations and was very engaged with us throughout our meal. The food was so beautiful and also delicious. Those were probably the best eggs Ive had from a restaurant and the best middle of winter strawberries Ive ever had. Everything is reasonably priced as well. So overall you are getting a great atmosphere, great service, and beautiful and delicious food. This will definitely be my main brunch location moving forward!
Creme Brulee French toast very good. tomato soup silky, it will add a touch of finesse if the onion are finely chopped or blended in. Waffles tasty, chicken slightly dry. Strawberries and orange juice refreshing, lovely. Coffee great body, acidity quite balance. Our waiter seemed tired, distracted, he was polite but after a while we have to asked another waiter to help us. Who was quite friendly and attentive. In general friendly staff, great food. Highly recommend it!
First visit on my Birthday. Bit of a wait, but it was worth every minute. Staff and service was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
This place was recommended to me due to searching for a new bfast spot. When I tell you my daughter and I absolutely enjoyed the food. The hostess when we walked in was so friendly and he seated us in a spot that was okay, my daughter decided she wanted a booth, he changed our seating with no problem at all. Our waitress was nice up until I asked for fresh fries. That was the only downfall. My Bellini was so yummy. The pancakes were delish! My daughter loved the scenery and thought it was so beautiful! She said I wish Spongebob was on instead of sports 🤣🤦🏾♀️ maybe in the future designate a tv section for children 🖤 overall it was a great first experience!
The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict was amazing. We also had the Rasberry Mimosa, which also great! Definitely added Sweet Diner to my list of favorites.
I’m overly happy about my brunch service here today. Although the portions were on the lighter side than what was expressed by our server. If you want diversity and atmosphere with a high skilled breakfast menu this place is for you! They should be applauded for such an inclusive energy shared amongst others and such an exquisite interior design! Please Enjoy!!!
They dont take reservations, but you can put your name on the list and step away. They provide a link to let you track the people ahead of you and they text and call when theyre ready for you. We shopped and sat on one of the numerous benches available nearby. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server was attentive and responsive. The only complaint I have is that my trip isnt longer so I wont get to try the cinnamon roll french toast this visit, but I will definitely fix that on my next trip!
This place is really nice. Even on a beautiful day we choose to sit inside for that reason. Big nice windows and a great area! When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. The service was perfect! They actually have greens in the side salad not just iceberg lettuce! The food was very tasty. Pictures are of the Grilled Cheese sandwich with and the Three Cheese Burger. Bloody Mary was 5 out of 5 stars. We ordered 4 drinks (2 bloodys, 1 fruit juice, one cocktail) and paid $70 without tip for everything. It was a good experience. I would definitely recommend this place.
Try to call before you go to ask for the waiting time. They have a waiting area, which is really nice. The place is very pretty, good service, our food came out fast. 👍🏼I’d like to say even though I love my food, I was disappointed. I ordered Chilaquiles (one of their SD) what I got was a Mexican bowl, instead. That’s NOT how chilaquiles supposed to look like, you guys have the wrong concept.
We got the croque madame and the mediterranean salad. Both were DELICIOUS except I requested my salad undressed and it came covered in dressing. Staff remedied it quickly and efficiently, though the second salad I received did seem much more hastily thrown together and was kind of light on the actual greens. Coffee and tea were delightful! As was the atmosphere.
Sweet Diner was about the only breakfast place open on Monday in the Third Ward. Turns out it was a great place. Maybe a little pricey but the food was excellent. We had Chicken & Waffle and the cinnamon French Toast. Both exceptional and clearly prepped with care.
Incredibly busy and for good reason! Very trendy brunch spot with superb food and service. The place gets a little loud with the bustle and crowd so not the kind of place for a quiet sort of outing. Would highly recommend!
I went today for the second time and was not as impressed as I was the first time I visited. The restaurant is in a very nice space, but it’s very loud. Our waiter seemed very distracted and spent quite a bit of time chatting with the table next to us. The food was fine- I ordered the eggs Benedict and my companion had the egg, potatoes and toast. The eggs Benedict was pretty good- but the ham didn’t have much flavor. The eggs, toast and potato dish was fine, but not a lot of food, especially for the price. I was not terribly impressed and won’t rush back.
We went here on Monday morning right after our flights touched down. There were 8 of us and we were a bit rowdy but our server Ingrid was the BEST. She was super friendly, did a good job of helping me wrangle my boys, was knowledgeable about what we were ordering, was prompt, kind, funny. The food and drinks were also wonderful but Ingrid stole the show. If i didn’t live in Oregon I would definitely be back.
With our table of 6, only half of the orders were correct. Lots of issues with the service. Waitress was not helpful and repeatedly made mistakes running our credit cards, and constantly would take them to another room away from our table making us very nervous. Bread was stale.
I love this place. 5th time going I took my mom on her birthday for brunch and she loved it! My mom is super picky so I was happy. She had the montecresto. She was only able to eat half because it was so big. Mimosas were great. Our waiter was awesome. We only waited for 20min for a party of 6!! Will definitely be back!
We were up for a wedding in Milwaukee and coincidentally ended up having brunch at Sweet Diner a second time (first time was two years ago). Each time the wait was about an hour and we passed the time walking around the neighborhood, grabbing coffee, etc. The food was pretty good and the menu selection was decent. My only complaint is the noise. It is very loud in the restaurant to the point where it’s uncomfortable to have a normal conversation. Once we sat down, that was the thing that we instantly recalled from our last visit.
Large portions. I got full with my chicken, waffles, and breakfast potatoes. The chicken was well cooked, just could use a little salt. Everything else was amazing.
Absolutely amazing!!! Went for brunch with my best friend. Eddie was our waiter and he was attentive and friendly. Would love to go back anytime. 🥰

What a cute place! I wont lie, i picked eating here because of the name but the food was really good! I had the cinnamon roll french toast and my husband had chicken and cornbread waffle. Yummy. The only negative was that the server didnt come over to ask about our food or offer to refill drinks. We had to ask for that. Check it out the next time youre in Milwaukees Third Ward!

Went here for the first time yesterday. Sad to hear its closing its doors for good in a couple of months. If you havent been I would suggest doing it now. The food was excellent. The service was good even though they were somewhat busy yesterday morning. Im not usually a fan of places that make you wait to be seated but the wait wasnt very long and at least they had an atrium for you to sit while doing so.
We were seated immediately upon entering. Our drink order was taken, but instead of unsweet tea we were served sweet tea. My wife had the apple-caramel pancakes which were awesome. I had the Denver omelet with Sweets home potatoes. Filling and tasty. Unfortunately, it took almost our entire meal to get the drinks we actually ordered. Other than that, everything else was perfect!
Expected so much more. Ordered medium well steak (it was well done, no flavor). My potatoes were dry. Although there was a noticeable melted slice of cheese on top of what looked like an omelet but was suppose to be scrambled eggs this was rhe most pleasing tasting thing on my plate. The food presentation was nice( with exception of the eggs),we didnt have to wait to long for our food and the hospitality was wonderful.

Went here early on a Saturday and was told we beat the rush that was about to hit. Huge amount of servers so attentive service+++ I had a plain waffle w fixings on the side and it came that way. Friend ordered egg white omlette. She loved it. Iced latte was super good. Overall atmosphere was beautiful. Great place for a Saturday breakfast drink🥂. Very open so not intimate, that I saw but still charming and friendly staff. And super cute😘
We got lucky and snagged first-come first-serve expo counter spots on a super busy Sunday morning. It was actually cool to be able to see all the food coming out, and gave us ideas on what to order next time we come. I had the veggie omelet, and my boyfriend had the Monte Cristo sandwich. Both were amazing! Plus— fresh squeezed juice 🙌🏻 I’ve also had the creme brûlée French toast, which is the star of the menu imho.
The Cinnamon apple pie glazed waffles were freaking awesome (Not sure if they are on the menu any longer as this was a little while back) and the Bloody Mary definitely hit the spot. Had a Hard time choosing what to get tbh as everything was calling my name. The entire experience was great and will definitely go back.
You call multiple times to place order and no one responds! We have gone to this place many times and they have a lot of staff around even up to 4 or 5 at the front next to the phone. Excellent food but horrible complete service.
Hmmm where to start? This is really nice place but honestly its over priced for some of the items they sell. The French toast has this weird flavor too it, and the inside was yellow. The waffles were so sweet I couldnt eat them. The chicken was okay, the breakfast potatoes were bland but I love the dishes they came on/in. And the fruit...well you cant really go wrong with fruit. And the weekends are always super packed so its best to get there early.
Excellent food and excellent service. Bright, clean, happy, even with the hour wait. Super outdoor seating area with coffee bar and limited cocktails to help the time fly. Great place to bring visitors. Will definitely be back!

Great Memorial Day Brunch. Our server was btoh friendly and attentiveAll orders arrived in a timely manner and as requested at time of order. The food was well seasoned and served at adequate temperatures. All of these things lead to my party having a stellar experience at this establishment. Taking into consideration that this was a holiday and that the place was packed, Id say that the staff here is well trained and prepared for a rush of any size. Definitely coming back to this place.
We visited Sweet Diner for the first time on Christmas Eve. There was a warm greeting as soon as you walked in and the service was stellar! I had the Eggs Benedict and my husband had the Creme Brulee Style French Toast - they both were very delicious! Would highly recommend for a lovely brunch! Will be returning soon! :)
We started with a 45 minute turned 1 hour wait, which was fine because there are a few stores close by to keep you busy. I ordered the Gluten Free berry pancakes and they were incredible. The pancakes were moist and super fluffy, I had to double check that they were truly gluten free. It came tipped with strawberries and blueberries with a fruit reduction drizzle. Simply perfect. The pancakes also had fruit cooked into them. I also ordered the poloma cocktail and it was aperfectly balanced sweet, salty, bitter combo, truly refreshing. As a side I had the bacon and waffle fries. The aioli with the waffle fries was slightly smoky with a tiny bit of heat on the finish. The bacon was perfect parts chewy and crunchy. It was definitely worth the wait. We cant wait to come back

Cool atmosphere and super fresh and delicious food with friendly service. The in-house fresh squeezed orange and strawberry juice was AMAZING!
Great spot for brunch and the wait is not too bad if you get there before 11. Their drinks are great.. Too bad they dont have bottomless mimosas!
