Very much enjoyed this place. It was highly ranked and thought we would check it out. Staff was so friendly. Met the owners and they were very kind. The food was great! Had the Barley Soup and the Combo. My only wish was that the bread was warm instead of cold. Dont let that stop you though. Also given the choice, go for the chicken over the beef. I enjoyed both, but liked the chicken more.

I am a 75 yrs old Iranian American. In the course of my life, I have been to many different countries and restaurants. In particular lately in Los Angeles/ Santa Monica, the Persian/Iranian communities, i have tried the variety of the foods offered there at the many fancy and upscale restaurants.I am delighted to highly recommend the food at Zeitoon Cafe, it is certainly authentic, delicious and generous portions at a very reasonable price.Zeitoon is not a fancy restaurant or splashy place, but the food makes it all worth the visit. Service is just fine and the owners are more than friendly and accommodating.If you like middle eastern/Persian food, dont miss out this place.We love it and now go there regularly for our fix once a week.ENJOY

Delicious food! Very slow service, but I presume that was because everything was fresh made. They didnt offer us water. They didnt check back with us to see if we needed anything. But if you are in the mood for delicious Persian food, give this place a try and come hungry because the portions are huge.

Lana s we’re little bit salty, beef did not taste good. I do not mind paying more if they have told me up front. Cashier just charged me 10% service charge for what? They never came to serve us or asked if we needed anything, took 10 minutes to come back to take our order, good took 20 minutes to be ready, they had no rice although they did tell us but they should consider that something. Food 3% hot food 8.25% taxes total 5.10. Simply it’s better to go to a restaurant since they charge you what’s the menu has priced. Never going back again or doing business with these guys. I have a picture proof of all the hidden charges.

I found this store and restaurant thanks to my Iranian friends. They prefer going to this place over other places since they find everything they need there at a good price. But the food is just unbelievable! Their kabob is one of the best things I’ve ever tried before, so tasty, served in a really cool and traditional fashion. This is for sure my favorite place to eat Iranian food in SLC.

Great food. We ordered an Eggplant appetizer, Beef Stew and Chicken Kabob plate. Everything was amazing. Try the Eggplant for sure. It is very unique and has nice flavors.

Great variety of products for sale and friendly, helpful people work there. Today I had a Ground beef kabob. It was really good and reasonably priced. Looking forward to trying some other items on their menu.

Having been to Afghanistan and been able to eat local foods while there, I feel that those looking for great flavors from that region in the middle east need look no further. The Kabobs, humus and other items on the cafe menu are fantastic. If you like to cook and experiment on your own, the market has all of the seasonings and spices you will need. I will be back, this place is now my number 1 spot for great Persian food.

Amazing food, very nice and clean restaurant, lovely gentleman taking your order. The market is stocked with everything you might need and the prices are very reasonable. I like that everything is marked with price unlike some of the other ethnic markets. The owner is so polite and warm and really makes you feel welcome. I used to go to another persian restaurant but have switched to this one because of the reasons above. Try it out and you wint be disappointed. Their beef kabob is soooooo juicy!

Found this place very randomly while visiting Salt Lake and really didnt expect much before going there. But after ordering their Kebab dish, I must say I was surprised. I live in San Jose and so I know a few Persian restaurants in my town and I can claim Zeitoons Koobideh kebab was really tasty and juicy. Definitely recommend this place is you havent tried it yet.

Fantastic!There are also so many treasures to be found in the market! Restaurant and a market in one place is my new favorite thing! I bought a cute tea kettle for a really low price so Im very happy about that!Overall I love this place and will be visiting way more often!

The rest of persian restaurants here are all mixed with Indian and Arabic multi cultural food.This comes from a foodie that IUsed to go to restaurants in Iran everyday all day!!Foods are amazing and spices are on point!Sometimes they have fresh baked persian bread!!! (Barbari)And freshly baked persian pastries as well!They have majority of persian/arabic/Turkish/Russian products In their grocery store as well!Staffing is very welcoming and friendly and its always a pleasure going there!If you are planning to try actual original native persian food and pastries give them a shot and thank me later.You are welcome!

As my 3rd market Ive been to today, this one was the first restaurant coupled with a market. They have a nice variety and it smells delightful! I was looking for specific items which they didnt have exactly, but a nice man gave me a bag of bread thats similar to what Im looking for. He called it a gift and it touched my heart. So lovely!!

Try some flavors you may not be accustomed to. Excellent owners/staff, market items, and grill before 7 pm. One of the best places to buy turmeric and sumac for your aging joints/inflammation and circulation issues.

Get a free trip to the East and fantastic food. The portions are enormous and the beef cabob is AMAZING. The owner served us our food and was the kindest person you could imagine. Take a date, plan on leftovers or share a meal. About ~$15/plate (median)

The food at the cafe was excellent, fresh and flavorfull, and the service very friendly. Next time I will have to buy something from the market too. There were so many interesting food items for sale.

Best Persian Kabab khobideh in Utah

Just ordered lunch for 8 people. A sampling of kabobs and stews. Turns out I had 10 people show up. Everyone loved it. Quality was great and still have so much extra food that I now have left overs for entire weekend.

Im living in Provo and dont hesitate to drive for about an hour, since the food, bread, and food here is amazing. Owner and his wife are super nice and friendly and I really enjoy my shopping here. I highly suggest to visit here.

We have been to Zeitoon Market several times now and each time we absolutely love it. We have tried the breads, cheeses, always get some lamb. The owner is so nice and helpful, he is so nice to the kids and usually gives them a treat. Whenever I go to Midvale, I always try to swing by to buy some groceries. Cant wait to go back!!

Nothing but great experience at Zeitoon Market & Cafe. They have the best Koobideh, Joojeh and Barg. They also make home bread which is absolutely amazing the barbaree (Bread). Definitely check out this place and make sure you get the ground beef Kabob or Soltani dish which both are really good. They also have really good Lavashak (Fruit Roll ups).

Nice little Persian market for spices, tahini, grains, and other Middle Eastern flavors. Best time to go is Saturday after 4 when they serve authentic Turkish Kebabs! Make sure to ask for haydari.

Very clean inside and they are getting to ready to set up a deli too. Huge selection of spices. I chatted with the owner who is very nice and offered to give me cooking lessons. He said just pick out a Persian recipe and come back in. I plan too!
