I just started to work here a week ago and let me just say, I LOVE IT. I have the most amazing co-workers and boss(es). It is a very welcoming environment and I will always have something to do, unlike my other job. Keep it up Stop & Shop! You are doing Great!

One of the better S&S that Ive gone to. Big selection on precut deli meats and cheeses. Big area of self checkout. Half way decent bottle return.

While selection is decent, most items are a dollar or more expensive (even on sale!) than ShopRite.If it is convenient, I may pick up a couple of items. Otherwise I stay away.

I found everything I was looking for.i wish they had more registers open. I had go thru the self checkout .the person helping people was very nice

I really like Stop & Shop, Ive shopped here most of my life. Its very close to me, very clean, everything you need to take care of your self/needs...the only reason I gave 4 stars is because I couldnt give 4½, sometimes they dont have certain things stocked (only sometimes) ... Otherwise awesome...Especially Pea Pod, and Curbside pickup.

Adams is good for certain things. You can find good prices on some things like chicken and paper goods that you wouldnt at other grocery stores

All the rotisserie chickens have a long chopped off neck attached. I was so grossed out. Disgusting.

I’ve been to this location twice in the past week and the other day when I was here, the woman from the cake shop (heavier set white woman maybe in her 30’s or 40’s) was complaining loudly and openly in front of all of us customers about something pertaining to her job. I just left the store and was again at the cake shop (I love my sweets!) and a phone call had come through and I feel bad for whoever she was on the phone with. It was a customer I know that but my god the attitude on that woman is atrocious! She speaks down to people and is just miserable!!! I had my baby shower cake made here and luckily it was a different woman I dealt with but just bc this lady is so miserable and hates her job so much… go in the back and complain!

Great selection of products. Clear aisles, and easy to find items.

They are constantly out of stock in many sections and today I saw mold on a strawberry in a pack. Seen steaks turning black, milk expired etc. Step it up Middletown Stop n Shop !!

My review is for the bakery department. The girl had no idea what she was doing and did the most horrible job on writing happy birthday on my cake. She didnt even try to make it look decent.

The Stop and Shop in Middletown on Saybrook Road limits coupons to two per item at the self checkout This is also true at other stores. The company policy is four coupons per item normally. The manager at Saybrook told me that people were taking too much time self checking out so they limited the coupons. Even though we are doing all the work. Really? Is this good business?

The service here may not be great, but it isnt the worst either. And there are some who are terrible, but there are the few who are absolutely wonderful.The thing I like about the store is the easy access to the sales items. This particular Stop and Shop is very keen on keeping end caps, sale aisle, and other department displays neat and full.Management was shaky in the past, but the current store manager is very kind and quick.The deli and grocery you may be most familiar with, but its the older gentleman in the seafood department who delivers a good neighborly kind of service. He might be a little introverted, which is normal, but he likes to see people, and greet them warmly. Never too excited or pushy, just a relaxed hello.The cashiers seem distracted a lot, and sometimes are caught up in conversations with other employees, which is understandable, but some acknowledgement of some degree would be good. Mostly you get Hey, or Hi, and thats it. Whatever they could add to that would be much better than just a quick Hi, then ignore.

Stop and Shop in Middletown I visited there a few times the aisles start with the number 3 except the Stop and Shop in Cromwell,CT they start their aisles with the number 2.

It seems that no matter what day I go, as often as I go the shelves are not stocked, they never have items and it can go weeks and weeks before they get them.I dont know what the reasons are behind it but its very hard to keep a business going if you cant provide the basic items.

Deli department needs improvement on their speed. Especially John Gura it takes him forever to slice. Also goes to the restroom too many times.

I find stop and shop always has high prices... I can can get several name brand items for much cheaper at Walmart. The only reason we go here to stop and shop is because we know the store and can easily get what we need if we only need a few things. I also get WIC items here and they are very conveniently labeled which makes it easy to find. It is an older store so a little run down but not bad.

53 million people in America with disabilities. Called the store today just to see if the store is willing to make accommodation for my disability and inability to wear a mask. The male manager got nasty. Told me i was not welcome in there store and get an attorney. So i did one better i called customer service for corporate. If its not addressed chain wide they are going to have a public relations nightmare.

Back in Oct i slipped on some grapes and Im still waiting for resolution. I have never had a problem in the past. The store is usually clean and the staff mostly helpful.

Good job to Ken working at self checkout, we were struggling with a coupon and he worked it out for us. He had a kind and pleasant attitude while helping everyone back and forth, and looked to be working hard but happy about it. Social distancing is hard in self checkout, he looked to be doing his best to distance and keep things clean while helping everyone.

First Time we ordered a pick up from Stop and Shop.We live in CA for 6 months and CT for 6 months.The young lady was so nice and helpful.It was a fantastic experience.Thanks for making life a little easier!!Joyce Thomas

The selection of food is okay however, the prices are very expensive. I avoid this Stop&Shop. I will travel to Price Chopper or Aldi on Washington street to avoid this Stop&Shop due to prices. Its located close to my parents but, the prices are not worth the convenience of its location. I wish there was another choice of supermarket in this area. Please ALDI, build a store near this Stop&Shop! They need local competition to lower their prices.

The nicest young man has brought me out my grocery pick up order twice now. I wish I had gotten his name, but he is always a breath of fresh air! Super polite, respectful and personable.

I love coming here because its always clean and usually what I need is in stock. However, the employees need work. Serious work. Gift cards do not work. For some reason they are not readable and have to be entered by hand. If this needs to be done, the employees act like they all of a sudden dont know how to do their jobs. Big sighs and a couple of times I was told to go to customer service because the woman doesnt like to do that. Ive been looking for a job for some time and have put in multiple applications, I guess I have too much customer service skills to work here.

All of the staff are friendly and will help you to the absolute best of their ability. Only little thing is they need to have more baggers on weekends .

It is a store where there is a lot of hygiene, organization and good products.

Due to health concerns, I do not go out often if I dont have to with the pandemic going on. Because of this, I rely on the peapod service. The peapod service here at the middletown store is lacking. I just moved here from Newington and was expecting the same awesome service that I got from the Newington store. I was wrong. I understand if there is an item that is out of stock but if there can be a substitution as a solution, why not go with it? I never had an issue getting all of the items that I needed at the other store. They always subbed the item with something else if they could and I would gladly pay the price for it. This store will not take the time for you. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere if you need a better pick up option.

Yesterday I was there and I was getting stuff for my dinner later that night, and it took forever for someone to come help me in the seafood section. Because the guy was on break for ten minutes and no one there to help other customers.. Thats very unusual for someone else no to be there... But the poor Deli Manager Karen had no idea what to do but she was good and tried to help the best at her ability.

Clean, friendly employees but some dont wear there masks correctly. They have them under thier chin and thats not preventing exposure. If you dont care about the possibility of geting the virus at least care about the customers helping you earn that pay check.

I love the expansion of the produce section. LOVE having the selection. This puts price chopper to shame. Organization of produce seems a little off, though. But if you are willing to wander through it all, its all good. People working there are helpful.

I love my stop and shop at little pricey but it is a one stop shop and they have all my brand names. Not many grocery stores have a rack of lamb. I do like lamb. Five stars for having lamb my pork

Been in various Stop and Shops as well as numerous other chain grocery stores. Always believed Stop and Shop offer these great advertised deals Buy one Get one Free. Their prices compared to other stores is high and their advertisements I feel are misleading. This location the shelves were well stacked and items well marked. Staff are approachable and cashiers friendly.

This store has fresh made guacamole daily right near the entrance and its SO good. The deli always has a variety of sliced meats and cheeses so you dont have to wait on line. Employees are helpful and friendly. Its the only standard grocery store in town so it can get crowded.

This is the ghetto stop and shop, they never improve it, stocking, management and employee attitudes only get worse. The corporation gave up decades ago regardless of what their PR responds to this with.

This Stop & Shop is fairly clean and well staffed. The lines werent too long and I was treated with respect by all staff that I came across. Would recommend doing some shopping here.

Even with the pandemic, stop and shop is doing good keeping social distancing and mask on employees and customers as well.

The laziest sloppiest customer service workers at the customer service desk are rude and nasty. I watched them talk to a couple of people so rudely in front of me and then when it was our turn to come up they said they are taking a break. Uneducated lazy employees at the main desk. The cashiers and other employees were nice but the ladies working at the front desk were so rude and had no manners.

Just another large supetmarket. The prices could be better but the sales are ok. The pharmacy is very good. Can usually find what you want and you hope it is on sale. Usually crowded and busy. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful.

Most Stop n Shop stores are created equal and this is on par with that maxim. Nothing overly exceptional, nothing bad to say. Store is always clean and well stocked. There is rarely foul produce and they have a wide variety of non-native produce. Bakery, meat & seafood departments are showcasing quality product and staffed by exceptional people. The deli and prepared food areas are above and beyond since the remodel. There are plenty of sale and clearance items as well as seasonal products. Their organic choices are more than adequate to fit the needs of those who buy into that fictitious label.

There is nothing particularly wrong with this store but I just prefer to go to the one in Cromwell despite living in Middletown. I have to take like 5 traffic lights to get there from Rt.9 versus just 2 for the one in Cromwell and that petty item always steers me towards Cromwell.

Handicap accessible. Clean bathrooms. Deli was soooo nice to hunt me up Martin Rosol hot dogs when they werent in the case. Top marks for them. Store clean and well organized.

Full scale grocery store, with a salad bar, bakery, deli and meat section. We really like the variety on the olive bar and shop here on our CT visits just for it.They have their own card for extra savings on certain products. If you are a visitor just ask the checkout person to use their store temporary card to get all the savings.

Being remodeled.. But a good atop n shop... Deli is the only place i have issues.. Either not enough working or there more worried about kiosk orders...

Its a good place to shop. Fair prices, and good service. Also a good way to avoid paying A.T.M. fees by getting cash back at checkout.

Stop and Shop is my go to for food supplies. Busy enough to have a constantly rotated stock, but not always packed. Good cheese, produce, and the meat dept. Is good, and the bakery makes good artisan rosemary bread. Its Stop and Shop, they are all good. The Middletown staff is friendly.

The store is always neat. The personel are helpful. All departments are clean and well displayed.

The store is always clean and regularly has chopped frozen broccoli!! Its not always stocked in other Stop & Shops, but is nice to find in a convenient one near work. The parking lot is a little awkward, but as long as youre careful and stop at the stop signs, its not too hard to avoid accidents or traffic jams.

Great store! Easy to get in and out of. The employees are so nice and very helpful. Even with the remodeling they are there to help you!
