The prices are NEVER marked correctly, I always end up paying more because they dont update the price stickers. And there is ALWAYS expired food on the shelves. One time I noticed that the coffee drinks I wanted were expired by over a month. They were still there a week later. I took them to customer service and told them about it and the yogurts that were a week past the date. They said they would take care of it. The next week I found they just put the expired drinks back on the shelf and the yogurts were still there, now 2 weeks past the date. I dont know why I still shop there. Its probably not the fault of the regular employees but the fault of the managers for not making time for them to check dates and prices more often.

Customer service at the self checkout is typically a couple young kids talking or on their phones. Chris, a worker, was very helpful when I couldnt locate something. The deli workers were busy, and helpful, as always.

I have been going to Acme for years and Ive never had any problems. Everyone has been nice and pleasant until today back in the seafood department. That guy was so disrespectful. It will be a long time before I go back in there, if at all. Dont he know I help pay his salary? What happened to the young tall slim nice guy,? He was nice and pleasant with everyone.

Steamed crab legs are great. Although I was best on a BOGO deal on ribs. Shame on the cashier.

I called Acme in Middletown before I headed there this evening to check on the deli hours. I was told they are open until 9pm which I also saw on the website. I get there right around 8 and there are three employees behind the deli counter one tells me sorry we are short staffed and are closed. Three people behind the deli and not one could cut me lunchmeat instead go on to tell me about being short staffed. I get it everywhere is short staffed these days but one your website says 9pm and two I called before driving there and three there were three people still behind the counter. I’m not sure I will ever go back to this acme. Very poor customer service.

Always great when I go in there. One downside is the motorized scooter only lasts for maybe an hour and it dies.

This Acme is definitely out of the way for me, but I come here anyway and avoid my local Acme. This Acme is much better stocked. It is clean, the produce appears fresh, and they usually have a decent discount sale on baked goods. The lines are fairly quick to get through if you dont use self-checkout. I often use their Just4U rewards program for coupons and deals.

Everything was in stock and all the employees were great.

First time in this store since moving to the area and I have to admit, I carry high standards for my grocery stores. Up to this point, I was pretty concerned at the quality of each place I trialed. Giant was just ok, and places like lidl dont appeal to me. To my pleasant surprise, ACME exceeded expectations. It had a great selection, a really good seafood department, everything seemed fresh, well stocked well lit, the list goes on. Im very happy to have found this store and it will be my regular weekly shopping place to go.

Why does stuff in acme cost so much

I love this Acme supermarket. And its always very clean and well stocked. The employees are always very helpful especially the employees at the service center and the self-check area.

Good selection but prices are higher than the other grocery stores in the area, i.e. Food Lion, Giant, WalMart ect.

Had a order delivered, the person delivering the order was nice, but the person who packed the order forgot half the order. Oh well never do that again.

The only reason I go in to Any acme is when Walmart is out of the type of Dental stick treat my dogs like. Everything else is so overpriced I dont even look around. Or occasionally they is a remarkable sale item then again I run in for that item and leave with just that item but to put into perspective so far in 2020 I have supper Acme in general 4 times. Just again so overly priced.

There are BUGS in the self service case by the bakery getting all over the food!! And the half pies had bugs in it as well! Nasty!!!!

You would think during the biggest pandemic in my, my parents or grandparents history this store would help its community by offering curbside pickup for those over 60 with health issues. but no. many many other acme stores are tho. shame on this manager!

This is a wonderful ACME MARKET, plenty of convenient parking, friendly staff, spacious, well laid out floor plan, fresh food, fresh seafood, fancy bakery treats. Unfortunately, l can only shop there occasionally when visiting my daughter and grandson but its always a pleasant, enjoyable experience whenever I have...Upscale market without the upscale prices.

This Acme is always very well organized! I have never had one complaint about the store being filthy. I am always satisfied with the staff and how they treat all customers! Highly recommend the ACME in Middletown,DE.

Theres always a lots of lines they usually dont have that many cash registers open theyre always trying to push you towards selfthe seafood counters very fast and friendly though and so is the bakery

Overpriced groceries.

This is a good Acme. Nice variety in foods and clean (thats a must for me). It also has a Citizens Bank with great staff and managers. Its located in a good spot, near other cool shops, a gym (Snap Fitness), USPS, pet store for animal lovers, Italian restaurant and more, and its near route 1 too (so you can avoid a lot of in town traffic depending on where youre coming from).

In this covid era Acme is here for you with convenient hours and quantity products.

Sunday and 2 checkouts open.. backed up as usual. Way to have good customer service, Acme. And please get all of the clutter out of the aisles. They are already tight without all of the extra nonsense in the way!It is clean with a good selection though.

If you want the best selection and quality in town, this is the grocery store for you. I know some of the prices are higher but go for the sales! The buy one get one free meat sales are incredible and save you a lot of money. The seafood department is second to none in the area and has the best quality seafood you can buy. Deli has great service and offers just about anything you could possibly want. The front end staff are amazing--Darla, Eva, Karen, Colleen, etc..keep the store running like a machine and are wonderful in terms of customer service skills! Honestly, this type of work is extremely stressful and customers can be very difficult....I commend this store for consistently great service, amazing selection, clean environment and wonderful sales.

Very expensive, especially if you want basic things like milk. The last time I went to this store it stunk, I was there using the citizen bank and all I could smell was whatever was dying in the acme.

Large, clean store with super friendly staff. Bakery has some tasty items- cookies, brownies & cupcakes. They carry a decent selection of items throughout & will go out of their way to help you find something. A pleasant shopping experience every time.

My last time ever attempting to use the acme deli, so probably my last time there. 40 min, and they got from 49 to 58, they let 3people cut in line, they ran out of prepared foods, and the sense of urgency was non existent with Customers waiting. Ive given a benefit of doubt the last 3x, but my patience has worn out. I actually feel bad writing this, but its well deserved unfortunately.

Nice clean well stocked store with good selection. Too bad their prices are some of the highest in town. Unfortunately this store regularly proves having an item on sale doesnt guarantee its the best price. I do come here for sale items because sometimes they actually do have a good sale price but I will never do all of my regular shopping here.

Big store, lots of space. Clean. My biggest issue is some things seem a lot more expensive than other places nearby. I generally use Acme for sake items then ship elsewhere for everything else.That being said, it is a nice store with a good selecting.

6 months ago I would’ve given this ACME 5 stars. While the old manager John definitely seemed like an a-hole to the employees (which definitely isn’t right), he did make sure this store was on the money. I would see him coming in pulling random carts in the parking lot, moving around displays, stocking and just making his presence known. The store has gone downhill FAST since he left and this new guy took over. I barely see the new manager when I go in there. The carts are always overflowing in the parking lot, some employees are definitely a lot more lax then in the past, most notably the younger ones, probably because they know they can get away with it unlike before, lines are ridiculously long, and shelves are becoming less and less stocked. Yes prices can be high but I never buy it if it’s not on sale. I hope this store improves overall. I’ve always liked this Acme but I’ve found myself shopping more at the Giant.

I was very impressed with the gentleman who waited on me. He was very cordial and was knowledgeable about the various cuts of meats and cheeses. After being guided by his wisdom, I ordered a pound of Dietz and Watson chicken breast, a pound of Land o lakes cheddar cheese, a pound of summer Cole slaw and 8 pieces of Fried chicken. My server was correct: all of my purchases were excellent! Thank you.

This grocery store has all the items I need and most of what I want. I also come here for the cookies and muffins. Love them! It can be hard to find specialty items like chorizo or in my case soy chorizo, however thats the way it is pretty much everywhere around here. Parking can be tight in the weekends but never over flowing. Easy traffic system to get in and out of.

ACME is always a good store to visit. I shop around for sales and they always have good options.

Best regular grocery store in town. Its smaller than giant but doesnt stink like seafood. Really good chicken too.

I love this Acme in Middleton. It sure beats the one in Smyrna.Middletown Acme shelves are always stocked and the store is clean. Their deli is great and their are so many items to choose and they are all very tasty. They always have a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. I refuse to shop at the Middletown Walmart. If I purchase the sale items at Acme I do great.Their meats are so good and you cant beat buy one and get one free. I never see shopping carts all over the parking lot. Great store.

Convenient, but dont always have what I am for. Others might not have the same problem. Its clean, theyre rearranging and doing some remodeling as well.

It has the advantage of being the only significant supermarket in the local area. Prices are there for higher than the Food Lion in Middletown. Reasonably good fruit section. Clean new store. Selection can be spotty. They suffer from a lack of competition.

You will get all the stuff that you need for groceries.

They have a lot of vendors in aisle so if you need assistance and ask someone working they dont have any idea where items are located. A little frustrated. But otherwise good service.
