Uhaul off McKellips & west of Mesa Dr in Mesa, Az is the WORST! Do not waste your time and money there. They must employ people that didn’t finish high school because reservations get messed up whether it be for a rental truck or storage unit. Check your receipt because they will try to rip you off if you aren’t careful. And their system keeps your credit card on file without your consent. The employees make up charges too because my friend, my sister and I rented within the same week and rented the same item, but got charged different rates. If you’re looking for incompetent, dishonest company, this is the one.

We had driven over 45 minutes to pick up a part that we ordered with customer service over the phone that was supposedly in stock. When we got to the store, the part wasnt there. Needless to say we were very upset. Luckily, an associate named Damian Wisdom helped us. He went above and beyond calling multiple stores across the country to try and locate the part. He provided exceptional customer service and really made a negative experience become a positive one. I wish we lived closer so Damian could have installed the hitch on our car. Damian is very knowledgable. He actually found a different hitch that would work for our car and had it shipped to the store closest to our house. We highly recommend choosing this Uhaul if you are in the Mesa area.

I made a reservation the day before which made coming in and picking up quicker and easier. The sales people were very helpful as well.

This location DOES NOT honor any reservations whatsoever… I made a reservation for a 10x20 storage unit 6 days before the move-in date.. I walked into the facility 2 days after the reservation to see if I could take a look at the inside.. the clerk told me straight up that he would not hold the unit for me.. I told him yes you will because I have an official document email from Uhaul that guarantees this reservation… he chuckled and looked over at his coworker and then he smiled as well… This is all a big game to them a big joke… I told him Id be back on my move-in date and then they better have it ready for me..sure enough I went in on move in day and basically the guy said f##k you… its not available anymore when I showed him my reservation on the phone he wouldnt even look at it… I called U-Haul customer service and they were appalled..Guy looked into it and told me that the unit should have been ready for me… He told me he would investigate further..Then an area rep named ERIC called me and left a message unbelievably arrogant, no apology and basically blamed me...this is obviously something theyve been doing for quite a while and theyre getting away with it but theyre not going to get away with it anymore because Im contacting a lawyer.. after you read this and you decide to do business with them its not anybodys fault but youre own when you get screwed…..

This location is a joke. If you want a perfect example of lazy no customer service skills and a thin skinned manager then go here and ask for Tye. Upon entering said store I was trying to find my pick up order and was told by TY that I still have to physically pull my order from the shelves. Not sure why I preordered or prepaid if nothing was going to be done. Im told its to make sure items ordered are in stock. well after TY makes it clear he doesnt not want to help me he summons another person from the outside to help me. That person while helpful had no idea what I was there for even thought I kept explaining I have my contract number lets pullup my order. Eventually they get it, Im not renting equipment Im picking up a order of moving supplies, had the manager done his job this would have been alot easier but hey good help is hard to find these days .After gathering all the things i ordered one item was missing no big deal i go back in and say hey where can I find the mattress bag . Again TY does nothing and someone else starts to help me . There arent any on the shelves I was told So Mark kept telling TY where to find them and TY pretended to go to the other side of the building and look, he literally walked out and right back in and said we have no more, mark reiterated where to find them TY said we dont have them and came over to give excuses. I confronted his excuses with logic but i guess my tone wasnt right and he pulls the victim card and starts crying along with his coworker and trys to tell me to calm down and that Im getting excited. Yea learn to read emotions excitement comes from pleasure there was nothing pleasurable about what is happening Im now upset and very dissatisfied . After I change my tone to a more child like tone like when I speak to 6 year old he stopped his crying and Im told either refund or get out basically is how I took it. Its really funny how young men these days when confronted with the logic in their error they pull the victim card instead of standing up for themselves or owning the lazy job they are doing . So in closing hey TY like I said learn customer service and grow some skin your the lazy employee Im the paying customer those two do not mix ..........

Circumstances popped up and I needed a small trailer immediately. The website showed they had one. It was close so I went without calling. They didnt have the small one, but a large one was available. I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes!!It was quick and easy and made the circumstance go smoothly.This is a full service u-haul with alot of room and storage and alot of trucks and trailers for rent.

The Establishment was clean well organized professional staff members. Very proficient in getting us in and out of there so there was no long wait and the property outside was well kept clean and so forth.

Clean storage for RVs and fully stocked packing supplies to prepare for moving if needed.

Been there for over a year. Top floor smelled like dead rotting bodies for months (still did as of 12/6/20 when I switched storage companies), and rent went up more than twice in the year. Staff was either satisfactory, or just rude and unhelpful. This place looks nice, but I would not recommend it.

Super easy to rent a truck. Awesome service.

When I reserved my Truck, I also reserved a 2nd floor, climate controlled 10x10 unit. This unit was 1st month free, as it clearly showed on my original reservation.When I dropped off the Uhaul truck, I gave them my contract number. After doing that, they said I owed for the 10x10 unit. I then went to sign in to my Uhaul account and was quite surprised as it no longer showed a unit whatsoever. Sad thing indeed!! I was told, the units are first come regardless, when were low on units the first month is NOT free and you have to pay if you want it.Obviously, I ended up paying for the unit, as I had to have one period!! I reserved it and paid everything owed on the day I picked it up. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!3 days later I received an email from Uhaul, stating your rental rate is increasing; and will, unless you pay again before your due date. I auto pay and all is current, as well as documented.Look around before choosing this location, or any other Facility / Company, that are close and could quite possibly be better price and or accessibility.I moved here from South Carolina and had a reservation for a drop off, drive to my destination quote: as long as I agreed to it and acccepted the reservation. With reservation information, I checked other options. Unfortunately, this was less expensive driving myself to my destination, and storing my extras where I had my drop off location.Uhaul wanted me to drop it off at a different location and would give me extra miles. I used 200+ miles under my given usage.BEWARE.

I used U-Haul for moving from Colorado to AZ. While the overall cost was expensive the staff was excellent at both pickup and drop off. Very grateful to the Mesa staff for being flexible with the return. Thank you guys!

The computers were down when we went to pick up the truck we scheduled. The representatives at the location were friendly & worked diligently to resolve the issue. They encouraged us to reach out to the customer service number & try to get checked in with the app to try to speed things up.The low rating is due to that experience. The phone reprentatives for Uhaul were rude & not helpful at all. This is the 2nd time weve experienced rude, disrespectful, & absolutely unprofessional CSRs with Uhaul. It will be the last.*The representatives at the location are the ONLY reason this rating is not a 1 star rating.

Storage prices are fair for the unit size.Ive had an outside unit, and with the AZ heat its good that this location has air conditioned units inside.24-hour access available for a little extra is nice to be able to get to myself anything I want - which I usually like to wait until evening for the sun to go down.More the most part the facilities are clean. There are times when there will be things on the floors (debris, dead bugs) that I see one week, and they will still be there the next week, but its not nasty and overall its a pretty clean building.Only downer for me is that the Manager is a really friendly, upbeat, professional, customer-first person, but the other staff not so much. Ive been made to feel like Im a bother when coming into the storefront. I kinda get it though, they probably deal with a steady flow of rental truck traffic that theyre worn out, however customer service is still important enough that some customers may choose another storage facility to do business with.

Terrible my storage was broken into I filed police report and claim with repwest and submitted everything they needed they took 7 days and denied me and I paid for the insurance on the website they say they have top of the line security system then I was told thr no cameras thr and the gate was open late a few times I feel I was lied to about the security of the property and pointless to pay insurance when they dont cover you I have decided to file with the better business Bureau. And the consumers page and see what can be done about this thr was a storage like two away from mine that had been broken into and it had been sitting thr like that for months I am not letting this go I deserve to be paid for what was taken from me

Uhaul off McKellips and Mesa Drive in Mesa is less than average. The wait times are horrid. Your call will NOT be answered 90% of the time. The bathrooms aren’t clean. It’s like no one works there. And, they like to raise prices without providing better service. I do not recommend this place.

Very Clean and well organized facility. Its obviously secured which gives me peace of mind using them to protect my storage. Pricing is a little high, and the rules for vehicle rental are a little overbearing, but not unreasonable. Staff is polite and definitely helpful. Overall a great business.

Called in inquiring about the promotion for $55 a month for AC storage. The rep was very rude and told me the rates on their website were wrong and have gone up! She proceeded to place me on hold where I hung up after waiting 10 minutes and ended up going to their competition which were way more friendly and helpful than the service rep for this company

So far everything has been really good at this location. I had to move from another because of access. The staff has been great. Very quick and helpful in getting me all signed in and into my unit. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a storage unit with easy access and friendly staff.

If I could give these guys more stars I would. Chad and Carlos did a fantastic job! I was on a limited schedule to move my stuff out of storage and needed a small trailer on veterans day weekend. everything was going smoothly until we discovered a wiring problem on my cars hitch set-up. Initially it seemed like just a part of the connection was broken off and it would be a simple part replacement. unfortunately they didnt have the part in stock and the first obstacle they overcame very quickly and professionally was finding the part at a different store and bringing it over since the other hubs were closed.Once they got the part they discovered that the issue went further and the dealership that we had previously spent a stupid amount of money at to fix this problem had completely bungled the wiring set-up. So Chad went in and was able to completely repair the wiring issue, install the part and get me out of there in the same day.I spent way more time than I was planning to get this stuff done, but it was 100% worth it for the great service these guys provided. they saved me from having to make yet another pretty costly trip back to phoenix as well as what would probably have been an ungodly amount of money trying to get the wiring fixed. They did a fantastic job, and when my life eventually drags me back to Pheonix theyll be my first choice in towing assistance!Thank you guys so much for all your hard work!

We show up before our scheduled time. The app wouldnt let us finish the rental. We asked the staff on the grounds for help he said Yah ill get you keys he took off and never came back. We went inside only to be given the worst extremely RUDE service by fat woman behind the desk. She got so mad at us because we accidentally canceled the order onine that she proceeded to throw the keys to the van on the table. The entire experience with U-haul was horrible. I will not ever use U-haul again! Waste of time and money.

Drove from Phoenix to Mesa to get to this location. An employee was just standing around finally got some one to help me. After they did I asked if I could have help with one more thing, I was told they were to busy to help me!!! Horrible customer service!!!

I called to check availability and the sales rep was very rude. Told me that they were busy and they didn’t have time to waste. The phone was breaking up on their side and when I asked “What did you say?” to try to understand, they said nevermind and hung up. I guess I’ll have to go to Penske.

Mesa Uhaul moving and storage off of McKellips and Mesa Drive is terrible!! The indoor storage is dirty and dead roaches all over, the bathrooms look like they’ve never been cleaned for years, the moving rental trucks smell like cigarettes and they are super dirty. If you try to call, the location never answers their phones, and you’ll be holding for hours until someone from another remote locations takes your call. Most of the people at this location are highly incompetent when it comes to making reservations. They will always mess up your reservation in at least one way if not in all ways. Don’t waste your time or money.

Place is nice. Looks shinny new. Appears to have a fancy alarm system. Was given 1st month free. Lots of carts to use for carrying your stuff in and out. Bins are nice and tall. 24 hour access if needed. Price for small bin was fair. Good lighting, not dark and scary like some places can be. Nice place.

Evening staff member tall gave wrong information regarding locks, and got into a yelling conversation with a female customer. Morning staff was professional and efficient. I was the 5th in line last evening and 3 people after me left. Hope this was helpful.

There was a problem with the security access codes when we rented the unit, but the staff person came out and got it working for us.

The employee there named Brian was extremely rude to my wife and I for no reason. He must’ve been having a bad day or something my wife wanted to cancel the truck and go somewhere else but we didn’t have time so we Forbes it anyways. Good trucks, decent storage, terrible service.

The people were nice but after waiting almost 3 hours to rent a trailer and add towing wires. Then having them not have the parts to do the install and having them have to run to AutoZone I would never come back to this location again. Go to the U-Haul off of McKellips and the 202 they’re great I should’ve gone there in the first place.

I’ve been doing business with uhaul for years. Always had a pleasant experience up until today. As I’m exiting the building this morning at 6 am an employee named Eric is arriving. I’m literally walking out of the door and he begins shouting at me from inside of his truck to wait for him, the carts don’t go out the door. I’ve taken the cart in and out of the building through the door countless times. At this particular location the large sliding door is locked after hours so I’m left with no other choice. I’m short on time but because he’s making a big deal about it I wait. He’s taking his time getting out of his truck so I just proceed with taking the cart outside to load my truck. He comes up to me and begins yelling stating that I broke the door it’s being held open to long. That I’m required to have 24 hours access (which I do) and that I’m breaking the rules. At this point I’m so taken back with the way he is treating me and yelling. He demands my unit number, I told him I’m not sure and he starts demanding my name. After refusing to give him my name he starts threatening me that he’s is the general manager and he will make sure that I’m kicked out of my unit. I unload the cart take it back inside to put it away and he follows me out of the door muttering under his breath. I still can not believe the way he was acting, I called the Corp office to file a complaint and I’m advised HES NOT EVEN THE GENERAL MANAGER! I really hope that he is placed on some type of corrective action and that experience is not someone anyone else has to go through.

I’d avoid this place and make sure you read your contracts and know about all fees. I was charged a 20 night return fee, then charged a second day of rental AND called numerous times to return the trailer when it was sitting in the parking lot since 3am. So if it’s in the property at night so I have to pay 20, how do you justify the extra day saying it was checked in late???

Never get the answers to the questions I ask. I even went to the corporate office and still have not received an answer to my question. Every week for 8 months. But the staff is pretty much down to earth and cool

We will not go back to this place EVER. Bogus place. My mother speaks with a guy to get the estimate on a 10 ft u haul said he had a couple to rent. We than get in our car to go to this location. It is a woman at the counter. Only person we see in this location. She did not seem like she liked her job and was rude. We told her what we wanted. It takes her 2 seconds to tell us that have nothing available all she could rent us is a 20 footer. I dont kno how someone could find that information in 2 seconds or how the 10 footers were all rented when they had a couple 10 min Pryor. So we left, but when we left we saw a 10 footer out there. So we will NEVER b back here. It was a waist of time, gas and energy. Renters beware. Especially if u get the lady that hates her job. Also shows how much this company cares about its customers when I do not see the company responding to anyone that leaves positive or negative feedbacks

Im new to Uhaland all im saying be up front with the customers when offering 1 free month storage if customers having difficulty or having problems with moving situation but instead a month later with a I dont care thank you and a slap with a large bill!!! The only person helped me out was David which he understands and very honest and professional. Anthony called him a outside manager and General manager Eric didnt care about my situation and the only thing they cared is collecting moneys, no customers service whatsoever!! Bad experience !!!

The price kept getting more expensive the longer i was here. When it rained some things got wet didnt look like it leaked just accumulated condensation in the unit.i had to throw a few dressers away because of rats. Customer service was always availible.

TLDR; I spent 2.5 hours in a U-Haul waiting room on a Saturday.We went to this U-Haul to rent an open top trailer. The trailer was on hand and the worker helped us pick the appropriate one. Then everything fell apart.The computers were down, but that wasn’t so bad. It took about 25 minutes to finalize the initial paper work. We bought a tow hitch too, and after the paperwork was done, the worker helped us install the hitch. Then we realized that we didn’t have the appropriate wiring to connect the trailer lights to our car, so the worker told us we could buy the wiring there and he could install it, assuring us that, “ it won’t take long”. Well it did take long. After he had been working on installing the wiring for 35 minutes he came in to tell us that he needed a tool from AutoZone so the manger went and got the tool. Jump ahead another hour and a half and we are still waiting for the wiring to be hooked up.Lessons learned: Don’t let U-Haul install things in your car, don’t go back to this U-Haul, don’t waste your Saturday in a U-Haul waiting room.
