First exam was incorrect, went back and left sitting in a room for over an hour. Over heard the doctor talking with her student that she wasnt coming in yet because she was being stubborn. The second exam was still wrong. I will never go back to that place.

Dr. Edwards is so considerate of my needs! She listens very carefully to my concerns and ensures that I am educated about all my options. She is friendly and kind, making sure I am comfortable at each appointment. Cathy in the optical shop is the best! She goes above and beyond to ensure my glasses fit perfectly. She is thorough when fitting my glasses and I appreciate that she always gets it right the first time, so I dont have to experience any discomfort with my glasses or return for adjustments.

From the moment you walk in their facility, be prepared to be treated like you are beneath everyone and you are wasting their time. From checking in, to seeing the doctor and to getting your glasses. My husband and I have never been disrespected like this before. We simply went to get our yearly eye exam and to get new glasses and contacts. After going in a few times over a month time frame. The issues and problems are not resolved. We had even called and talked with the person in charge to express our issues. He said he would have the optical manager, Kathy reach out. Which she did. But once I realized she was the main part of the issue, no thank you.I still cant see clearly and in fact, I dropped almost 500 dollars to see better in my old glasses.

I love going to Heart of America Eye Care. Dr. Chang has been looking at my eyes for more than 15 years and she is exceptional. She has great bedside manner, makes me feel at ease, and goes above and beyond to find what works best for me. The front desk staff is always friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The selection of frames is excellent and the optical technicians are enthusiastic about getting me into the perfect frames. I only have good things to say about this place. I look forward to my eye exam every year, which is more than I can say about any other appointment!

I went in to find some sports glasses. They didnt have the ones I wanted in stock so they said they would order them and they would be there in a week. I left my name and number. Today it is 3 weeks later. I called and they told me they would have to call me back because whoever I needed to speak to was with a customer. I said are you sure they will call me back? Thats why Im calling currently, because they never called me. The lady I spoke with assured me they would be in trouble with her if they didnt. It is an hour and 39 minutes later with no call. I called back. No answer. This place is trying very hard to not get my money. In fact, they tried so hard that they succeeded. I will have to take my business elsewhere. I highly recommend trying to weld your own glasses out of coke bottles before giving them business that they dont deserve. If negative stars was an option, thats what they would receive. Fortunately for them, 1 star is the lowest the ranking scale goes. Im not happy that I have to give them a star. Stars should be earned. They dont even deserve a participation ribbon.

When I first moved from Leavenworth, Kansas to Overland Park I was in need of a few new doctor. One of them was an Ophthalmologist. I asked a college classmate if he could recommend someone. He recommended Dr. K ofHeart Of America Eye Care - Shawnee Mission.It is now 2018, and am still with him. Dr. K. is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous as is his entire staff. Dr. Stephanie Erker is great. Not only does she know her stuff inside and out, she will spend the time to talk to you and listen your concerns. She is the best eye doctor I have ever seen. I highly recommend her.

I have been seeing Dr. Chang for a few years. My experience at the new location was fine. I didnt have to wait for my appointment for more than a few minutes. The facility is superior to the past one.

Ive been going to Dr. Brammer for about 4 years, and Ive been very pleased with her care. The reason for the 4 stars has nothing to do with her. It is the front desk staff. When I went to my appointment on February 14, the dark haired girl that checked me in acted like she would rather be anywhere else but there. She was very curt and acted like I was an interruption. Pam, the technician, was very sweet and very welcoming. I have never had any problems with my phone calls not being returned, but my husband tried to call multiple times for an appointment and no one returned his calls.

Outstanding service and attentiveness. Explains issues in understandable terms, and clearly cares for her patients well-being. I have high confidence in Dr. Brenda Edwards and appreciate her excellent care.

I have been a patient at HOA for, at least, 12 years and have always felt Dr. Edwards was personally caring about me and my vision. She has always taken the time to discuss my condition and answer my questions. The rest of the staff have been friendly and professional in facilitating my appointment.

Everyone in this office is welcoming and pleasant. Dr. Carter is especially patient and creative in resolving my complicated sight. I have been to many offices that left me with compromised vision. I now have options for clear eye sight.

Have been going here for a very long time. After Dr. Simone left the practice I began seeing Dr. Brammer and shes been great. I would give 5 stars except for my recent experience with ordering contacts.I ordered a 6 month supply and chose to have them delivered to my home. They didnt arrive when I expected so I called the office to get the tracking number and spoke with Jessica, who gave me the UPS tracking number and said the contacts were delivered one day earlier. As I was out of contacts by then, I went up to the office to pick up some trials, called my apartment complex office, spoke with neighbors to look for the missing package, and nothing could be found. Spoke with Jessica again who said I needed to open up an investigation with UPS for the missing package so I did that. I also went ahead and ordered even more contacts since I needed them and it sounded like this investigation was going to take a while. Later that evening, the package of contacts shows up at my door from USPS, not UPS. Would have saved me a lot of trouble had I been given the correct tracking number in the first place! Arg.

Heart of America has been treating me for many years and I have always been very pleased with the results. They are the best.

It was years ago that I first had Dr. Brammer rescue me from an eye predicament, but as it was a distance to schlep to for me, I chose a practice closer to home.After a sour experience from my cataract surgery elsewhere, I decided to return to Mid-America Eye Care and Dr. Brammer! She is so different from the opthomologist I ran from! She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and smiles!!!The office staff I find to be a nice blend of professional and friendly!! The last office was like a conveyor line in a factory! They were too quick with my eye measurements for one eye and the second cataract staff person was too slow making me doubt the abilities of both!!!I felt none of that factory experience here!I met with Dr. Edwards, too, who was equally pleasant to deal with. Im back!! Forget the greater distance to travel!!

I went to Heart of America Eyecare and saw Dr. Linda Brammer, O.D for dry eye on my left eye. Dr. Brammer examined my eyes and prescribed drops and to come back to see her which I did and my eyes were not any better she prescribed another drops and heat 3 times a day that also didnt work..  She recommended a 10 minute procedure that cost $600 and not covered by insuranceI I asked her if she can use a Punctal plug instead of the expensive procedure and she said absolutely NOT . I was desperate because my eyes were tearing all day long after the many eye drops I was using under her care. I paid her $600 for a procedure called LipiFlow thinking finally Im going to get relief she prescribed more eyedrops anabiotic and continue heat and back in 2 weeks. My eyes go infected they were red and painful I went back and she took me off one medicine and prescribed another and be back again. Well after several visits my eye is now tearing all day and hurts all the time. I contacted her and someone from her office told me to find another provider and offered me $200 if I sign a paper that states I will not leave a review and go away. Ive spent more than $200 on eye drops that my copay were $50.00. They are not going to do the right thing and Im going to keep telling my story.

Heart of America put in my insurance file that I was not medically eligible for contacts so my insurance denied the claim they submitted for them. Despite many conversations, could not resolve with HOA and never received the contact prescription but billing department did an excellent job collecting.
