Great Lattes and cold brews. So far, thats all Ive had here. Great atmosphere and very knowledgeable and friendly baristas that take pride in their pours. If you choose to stay and have your coffee here. You get your hot coffee in a real cup or if you go cold brew, youll get it in a real glass. My favorite place in the Central Valley for coffee.
Flat whites done perfectly 👌🏻 few places know how. Seriously it’s not rocket 🚀 science but maybe it is 😂 might as well for the masses of chain “coffee” places. Simple coffee, good coffee don’t need sweeteners or sugars. Only bad is theres no apple pieces in the pastries.. I’d expect it not sauce/gravy. Won’t get that if I do come back.
Cute little coffee shop, very good espresso, lots of beautiful plants, nice people, and a few treats. They have a nice espresso machine... shiny! Tons of plants all over which I love. They have beautiful natural wood tables that are stunning! The overall ambiance is very relaxing. Swing by, get a cappuccino, sit down, and chill.
I love the calmness the place brings. When I walked inside I felt happy and calm. I bet the drinks here are amazing as well.
Amazing quality coffee. Highly recommend. Their oatmilk lattes are my favorite.
Great place. Owner Justin pays attention to detail. I come here very often to work.
Friendly service and quantity coffee! Easily seen from road.
Great little place to get some schoolwork or studying done. This is perhaps the simplest coffee place Ive been. They are unapologetic about this, as this is part of the culture of and cousin of this shop. At first I was hesitant because I love a good caramel latte... However the coffee is downright excellent! Smooth. Flavorful. No burnt taste at all. They do not have any artificial flavors or sweeteners. They serve everything unsweetened. However, you can ask them to sweeten your coffee as they make it, which they will use honey, and is surprisingly delicious. Good coffee art too! While hesitant at first, in glad I tried it. Ended up getting a latte followed by a flat white a few hours later.
Vibe inside is divine and is my go to place for in house roasted coffee beans. Have yet to explore the entire menu, but lattes and cold brew is to die for! Keep up the good work 🧡
Trying something new payed off. We asked the barista which would be the best drink we went thru so many and their differences. We finally picked the rose latte for here. They have plenty of milk substitutes. The astetics compliment the welcoming staff. The large communal wooden table brought the room together. Will be going back regularly.
Cool modern coffee shop with a relaxed feel. Its in a perfect spot to explore downtown before or after a stop here. Its also right next to the movie theater. They do coffee aretwith a lot of their lattes, making them look real cute. Its rather pricey but if you dont mind the price, youll have a good selection of drinks.
Great barista’s experience. Pour over from China was great!
ASIP coffee shop is a bright shining star in a town that is otherwise very dreary and sad. Merced has suffered a lot since the recession a few years ago. Each cup of coffee at ASIP is made by a talented barista with fun designs and everything. He and the whole crew are very friendly and interested in the customers. The shop is simply decorated with wood tables and succulents everywhere. The night I was there they had an impromptu song Night because it happened to be National Coffee Day. What impressed me the most was that the people in the coffee shop joined in the songs as well as interacted together as a community talking to the counter people and each other. It was just a really nice community place to go. They do all of their own coffee roasting and sell their roasted coffee in bags as well. They make delicious muffins and I just enjoyed the atmosphere as well as a coffee. They had Mexican hot chocolate and Mexican coffee which are always winners in my world.
The baristas working there are super cool, the coffee is really smooth and rich. I wouldn’t go there if you are in to them real sugary-like drinks from the Starbucks or MacDonald. For me though, daddy said if i’s to drink to much sugar I’ll get heart palpitations, so for coffee, this where I go. Inside of the store’s always nice and cool. They have one of those big ol coffee makin machines from the 1800’s. Grandpa always told stories of how people would try to play on his and get their fingers chopped off and such. From the look of it in the ASIP the machine is out of service, so don’t worry bout that. Overall it’s a good place for some coffee though, would recommend
Was on a very long road trip, and we needed to stop for a little while, so we googled coffee, and found this place.Very trendy and hipster coffee house for the middle of Central California. Lovely menu, and plenty of different choices for coffee beans.I ordered a flat white, which was made amazingly, and had plenty of flavour. I deeply enjoyed it! One of the best in California I have had.Would highly recommend for a stop on a long trip, refreshing, and deeply relaxing there.
Really high quality, fast service, great atmosphere. Pricey! If you want bang for your buck, go somewhere else. If youre looking for some delicacy to linger over, try Asip. Pre-covid it was also the perfect place to study
They have superior coffee. Its not the run-of-the-mill coffee house. Their menu is imaginative and avant garde.
They have very creative drinks and every cup is made with love. This is a hidden gem in the Central valley.
Great service, perfect extraction and presentation
Had Ethiopian and Kenyan coffee as options for on visit. Staff explained the differences and I was really happy with my selection. My friend ordered tea and it came in a really nice pot with a cup on a wooden plank. I looked at it and felt calm and warm. The place was also really nice inside with beautiful natural wood tables. It may have been high on the hippy scale, but I have to admit that I liked that place.
Just enjoyed the most delicious coffee I’ve had in weeks. It’s rare to find a good almond milk lattes, I think due to the heating of nondairy milks; it’s hard sweet spot to find. Not burnt and not to heavy, espresso brewed to perfection. But damn the gentleman with long red hair in a ponytail made me the best one I’ve ever had. So thank you kindly for making my day. Will most definitely be back.
Definitely a unique and visually appealing place. Coffee is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for, it tastes pretty damn good. Of course the staff is friendly and the place is very clean. Very fine establishment.
This place is great! I absolutely love their mocha. The atmosphere is nice, and the employees are really friendly. I have already taken friends there so that they can enjoy it too. They serve more traditional coffee, and some pastries. They also roast their own beans right in the store. It was pretty cool to watch them roast and gather the coffee beans. I definitely recommend this place!
Sat outside for a break. A great aroma came from the building. Definitely going to try it out on a coffee break.
Very nice .
Great Cap. Perfect temp. Perfect foam. Better than what i can find in the Bay Area.Quiet music. Great outdoors sitting area. Highly recommend!
This place is AMAZING!! I cant believe I waited so long to check it out. I lived in Seattle for 6 months last year and went to some awesome coffee shops there. This place definitely ranks among the best!
A very nice coffee shop in a city with many vacant shops. The custom furniture, with a table made from a large slab of a tree trunk and nice wood chairs is much nicer than average. The cake was fresh and tasty, and the cappuccino well-made. The restroom was clean and equipped with paper towels, not one of those silly blowers.
My boyfriend and I make the 45min drive to ASIP from a neighboring town almost every other month for the sole purpose of a coffee date. It is beautifully quiet and quaint. The baristas are kind and easy going, and do a wonderful job. The espresso has such a rich taste, and their matcha is delicious as well. They offer milk alternatives, and have never gone over temp, making the lattes drinkable as it should be.This is definitely not a Starbucks, as it once was a few years ago. So do not come in expecting variety in syrups and drinks like the chain. It is simple and wholesome to sum it up 💕
What a great clean big place. Nice it is a local owned. Prices are about the same as any coffee shop chain. But the quality is way superior. My Chair was smooth not over sweet with a touch of cinnamon. My sons coffee was smooth not bitter or brunt tasting. Great place to enjoy people watching or work on paperwork.
It’s a great coffee shop. Try Rose Latte with oat milk. Excellent service. The only complaint is they need to keep this place clean. Floors were dirty and dusty. Restroom was out of paper and filthy. They need to redesign this place a little to have more comfortable seats and more chairs. Then they fix all this this place will shine. Otherwise it’s a very good coffee shop.
Just stopped here this morning on a road trip- so thankful that (a) they were taking COVID seriously - limiting number of customers at once, wearing masks, etc, (b) they had their bathroom open, (c) the barista was wonderful, and (d) duh, the coffee was delicious! Rose latte = yummm (and beautiful)!
This is by far the best coffee in town! One of the best baristas in the central valley, go see Kat she makes an amazing drink!
As a small local cafe, you can expect to have great coffee and teas that are well made. This also means the variety of options wont be as broad or vast as coffee house chains. This place is meant to be a cafe where you can enjoy a well made cup of coffee as you sit down and either get work done or hang out.
I visited today for the 1st time - My drink was delicious. Beautifully designed layout. Theres really nice music playing. The people working there are very nice. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Cant wait to try everything.
While on the way to Yosemite, we made a stop in Merced to meet up with some friends. Not aware of this amazing roaster in the area. I was welcomed by a great smile and informed on the drinks that were most popular. Really love the space and the music that is playing overhead. Try the Organic Lavender Honey Latte Iced.
One of the finest coffee in Merced - good ambiance and great service. Highly recommend trying their chocolate almond croissant with your latte.Cheers
The coffee is great and strong and their coffee beans are freshly roasted. The place has a great homely environment as well.
Good coffee. It is slightly more expensive than the usual coffee place but they actually make good coffee which is a hard find in America
I havent tried the coffee here, but when I decided to give it a try, I was greeted by a young man who asked me what I would like to in turn walk away from the counter, walk behind me, and tell me I work here, but not right now. Im off the clock and I help sometimes. Im actually working at my other job right now, Im not ignoring you or anything. Excuse me? The experience was incredibly unprofessional. On top of this interaction, the only barista behind the counter was struggling to keep up the volume, so I decided to leave. I will not be going back.
Nice place to get some work done. Great coffee, friendly staff! Sometimes the wait is a little long. Definitely a gem for Merced though!
Super clean cool space! Cappuccino is amazing and the barista did a little custom art for me :)
The service was great and coffee was AMAZING! The man at the front was able to ask me a series of questions and came up with something wonderful just for me. I was so impressed! I would for sure go back.
My wife and I buy whole beans here every week. We have tried all varieties and they are all fantastic. We use and grind the beans daily for use in a French press.I cannot rate the in store coffee, but it smells great, and the customer service is always first class. The coffee beans are great!
This coffee is one of my favorites. That includes those here in SF. Maybe #3 after Ritual and Linea. In my humble opinion it is on par with Spro and just a bit better than Blue Bottle.
Island = Champion. Incredible barista and without question the best coffee that I have had. Friendly staff, timely service.. what more do you want? Come here!
Cool modern cafe. Amazing espresso & strong cold brew!
Loved the atmosphere and the layout was very open and calm. The drink that was recommended was great and I enjoyed it. I definitely want to try a hot drink next time.
Good coffee, but the cold brew can be quite strong and bitter quite often.
Wonderful coffee shop in Merced. Stopped by at 7:30pm- 30 minutes before closing and the barista was happy to serve us and a few others in line. Bright open space, good espresso, 4 minutes from the 99 and easy street parking.
Although it cost $10 for 2 lattes, they are still the best in town that I have experienced so far. The coffee is always consistent, at a drinkable temperature for all audiences, and the atmosphere is light and relaxed. 4 stars because although its amazing, there is only one size coffee and a bit expensive.
Just moved from San Francisco and now live in Los Banos. Had a few errands in the area and came across ASIP Coffee Co. I immediately loved how the place stood out, inside and out. I havent experienced a coffee shop moment until today. I was greeted kindly and ordered an Americano. Its was amazing. They even had a dog bowl of water outside for my dog. I will be there again and recommend it.
The cafe was clean and well decorated. The coffee was alright to me but Im sure that it would be much better for a coffee aficionado.
Great coffee & delicious pastries! it is a must stop when were driving through Merced - right off of the 99 :)
Very good coffee, the City stimulus card still a little tricky, dont blame them, blame the City for the hoops!
Friendly, knowledgeable baristas. They roast there own coffee on site. Delicious. I usually sweeten my coffee. No need here. Roasted to not be bitter.
Its not a huge place but its roomy enough, to walk around. Theres a couple of tables and theres one huge table in the middle that anyone could sit down and enjoy their drink. They sell coffe, tea, hot chocolate and a couple of pastries. Great place to study and do homework.
What a delightful place. Alex and Josh were great! Coffee was not only super tasty, the presentation was beautiful! Thanks guys!!!
Good coffee, a good croissant and a super helpful Barrista. A nice open space with plants and comfortable seats.
Clean, great tasting golden latte, used oat milk with turmeric. Awesome vibe, friendly and helpful barista. Will come again!
Favorite coffee spot in town. Staff is always freindly and helpful, drinks are robust and flavorful, and the shop is located in an ideal location for people watching.
A very high-end feel to this coffee shop in Merced. I was on my way out of Yosemite, headed for Santa Cruz and wanted some breakfast. This was a great choice - comfortable, GREAT coffee, fast wifi and a great muffin. I would have given four stars but their refill policy was punishing! My cup cost about $2.75 and the refill was $2.25! Cmon ASIP, reward your customers with a more generous refill policy!
These guys put in great care in preparing their coffee starting from delicately roasting their beans to serving their brew with excellent presentation. If you truly love coffee, this place is for you.
Delicious and fast service. Love the enthusiasm from the employees and the knowledge of products available. The latte art is always appreciated too :)
Excellent service, value, and flavor. Thanks for the offerings!
Good coffee .. way to quit for a coffee shop felt more like a library
I️ went in today 12/27/17 and got a cup of coffee. It was like warm and tasted exactly like 7-11 coffee. Unfortunately I️ live in SF and do not make it to Merced often/ever so I️ won’t be able to give them a second shot anytime soon. I️ did buy some beans so I️ guess I’ll be able to tell if their coffee is just plain bad or I️ caught them on a day slackin or near closing time not wanting to brew a fresh batch. The interior design is modern and the plants give the space a nice feel, even if the aesthetic is a little expected and directly lifted out of LA arts district renaissance circa 2009.
I am so happy to have met Alex, Colton and Kat during my latest visits here. I stopped by because I needed something....better...and less fufu than elsewhere...and I found it in their mocha. Awesome place, awesome people.
One of the best coffee places Ive found in the state. great cappuccino and also croissants. neat interior with pretty tables and a Giesen machine. real competent and efficient baristas.
Absolutely love this place. A beautiful aesthetic and amazing coffee(: I highly recommend their Rose Latte !
Great coffee, great place, great service! A must try.
New place in Merced to myself. But loved the coffee
I think this place can be a bright gem to the downtown area. Great coffee and friendly staff. I hope they are here for the long haul.
Beautiful interior along with some beautifully crafted coffee beverages
Good coffee, nice ambiance, but too expensive for my tastes.
Outstanding coffee, low acidity and great flavor that easily rivals Blue Bottle Coffee or similar uncharred coffees. I love the feel of this place, and staff and owner are always pleasant and knowledgeable about coffee.
Great coffee and barista was nice
Asip has been open since December, what I like the the coffee shop is how they roast their beans and have a variety to choose from in coffee beans to buy and brew at home. Theyll even grind the bag of coffee beans you purchase too. The baristas are really nice as well.
Absolutely clean and great coffee would recommend to everyone.
Good coffee, nice vibe. The espresso machine was broken, but the pourover was super good.
Expertly crafted mocha! In a nicely appointed shop.
