I used to love coming here but the last 3 visits have been horrible I guess now I’ll just be coming here for the desserts. It started with the steak sandwich meat being skimpy now it’s both I wish I would’ve gotten a pic of the steak sandwich it like had 3 pieces of meat on it and yes this is the gyro pictured yes I know I couldn’t believe it either.

Its hard not to grab lunch at Kwik Chek. The kimchi burrito, the mandu, or the sandwiches like the Ninja or Falafel are all great. I find myself often craving one or all of them. There is even bi bim bop or gyro! The workers and owners are always pleasant, too. One of the best parts of Midtown and Memphis for sure!

I love this place so much. Try it once, crave it forever. I like the Greek Sandwich. The atmosphere is really unique because its also a convenience store. The service here is usually pretty fast and they have a relaxed friendly attitude. My only complaint is I wish the seating was a little more comfortable. Besides that, great place for a kwik bite.

This place is a hybrid of a stop and go shop and a small restaurant. You order your food at the counter. You can buy the chips and drinks separate. The sandwiches are good. I highly recommend the kimchi fried rice.

This place is awesome. I frequented this place a lot in college and loved the mix of Korean AND Greek food. The Trojan sandwich and bi bim bop all stood out. If youre vegetarian, the falafel is pretty good and as well as the teriyaki with no chicken and extra cheese, its surprisingly awesome.

Great deli with a Korean style. The Bi Bim Bop Burger is always wonderful. Great flavor combination. If you dont order the burger, do yourself a favor and order the Bi Bim Bop bowl, fresh ingredients and warm to your tummy. May be better when the weather outside is cooler. I have tried a few other sandwiches on the menu from time to time and they do not disappoint. Dont let the convenience store look fool you. It make take a little bit to be ready but the food is worth the wait.

The most bizarre little place - when I first pulled up to meet friends there, I said to myself, Oh its over here next to that little convenience store. Little did I know, it IS that little convenience store! Its certainly a unique atmosphere, but if youre into it, its fun. It really does feel like walking into a gas station that had all the center shelving ripped out, and they serve an interesting menu of half Korean food, half Mediterranean. Dont let the places appearance fool you - the food is great. If you want to buy a bag of chips or a pack of candy, you can do that too.

Dont be fooled by the gas station style facade. Find parking, go in, order the bibimbap, grab a drink while you wait. Service is always quick and the quality is consistent.

The place has a very local traditional feel to it, so I would highly recommend going to try it out!I’m not sure if the people who give less than 5 stars are just angry people, because there is no way anyone could ever get bad customer service at this amazing place. This place is great. Great. Awesome. Just go.As for people concerned about gloves, your Uncle Steve with 7 rat terriers doesn’t wear gloves to make his hot wings and your aunt Linda smoking Marlboro’s doesn’t wear gloves to make her apple dumplings. Chill. lol. I’m sure they wash their hands. There are MANY establishments that don’t use gloves, you just don’t know because it’s behind closed doors.

Newbie here, I would call my order in the next time, the wait time inside the restaurant was longer than I expected and it was pretty warm.I ordered the Korean fried rice and the Gyro and bought a side of Kimchi.Kimchi and Korean fried rice were really yummy. Highly recommend trying at least once if your tastebuds can handle spice. Would go back and make sure I ask for an over easy egg.The gyro had too much tzaziki (sp?) sauce and not enough tanginess from tomatoes and lettuce. It was actually overstuffed, the gyro wrap was hard and tough to chew. Wouldn’t order again.

Ive been enjoying the food from this place for over 2 decades. They have a nice variety of excellent sandwiches, several vegetarian options and also have a good selection of microbrew beer brands. Put in an order, grab a fancy beer out of the cooler and sip on it while you wait for them to prepare your food. Come to think of it, Im not even sure if its legal to drink beer inside an establishment that doesnt have a permit to serve alcohol, but no ones ever said a word to me about it. I always have a samurai sword strapped to my back, so maybe thats why. So bring your sword just in case.

Kwik Check has been an all time favorite of mine. The quality of food and service is undeniably worth the tough Overton Square parking situation. We all know how fickle that can be. This place used to be really good, their bi bim bop was what I always went for. After the popularity grew they raised their prices. I didnt have a problem with that but what has really upset me was that the past 6 months they have significantly reduced the amount of food on their plates. First they started using less beef, then the started using less everything! I took my brother and his family there a few days ago and I truly was embarrassed by the amount of food they received on their plate. It was the size of a very small appetizer. If Im paying $11 for a plate please make it worth it. I probably wont be going there for a very long time. They could definitely clean the place up a little better too.

I was a bit hesitant to eat here at first. My vegetarian boyfriend was always begging me to try it... but the store front looked like a convenience store at a gas station, not a deli...Since there arent a ton of places that offer MULTIPLE vegetarian dishes, I finally gave in.AND once I tried thier falafel hummus pita, I was hooked!! Huge sandwich & oh so tasty! My favorite! & cheap! $12 lunch for 2 with chips is cheaper than any sub shop. One of the best places in midtown!! especially if your looking for a quick, fresh, low cost lunch. I know everyone is in titled to their opinions and that most 1 star reviews are from angry customers that just want to twist stories to make them look good and therefore make the restaurant look bad. Looking at you, Su Su. My fiancee Eathan worked at this fine restaurant for some years. They do wear gloves and they are really friendly. Their food is delicious and the price is awesome. I have never had a bad experience at this establishment. As for the parking, yes it is not enough but they cant help that best on their location. THEY NEVER USE MOLDY OR ROTTEN FOOD! THAT IS A LIE! Was definitely confused as to how it worked the first time I visited (go order at the counter, sit down and wait for your food, grab whatever sides/drinks you want while youre waiting, pay at the register at the end), but its cheap and delicious and super fast. I wish I could say something nice about this place but I cant. Today as me and 2 friends went to make an order, a friend asked what the young man would suggest on the menu with turkey. The young man kindly stated unfortunately, I am vegan so I cant really give a suggestion. Then suddenly, his employer came up to him and yelled at him in front of customers with an attitude stating not everyone is vegan, no one cares if youre vegan, some people like meat. He was not at all forcing his ways on us. And if anything, I am vegetarian and my other friend use to be one. I then spoke up for the young man stating how admirable it was that he was vegan. I even suggested looking for a new job because he didnt deserve that treatment! I could never give that place any of my money, i dont care how good people claim their sandwiches to be! Not only is it completely uncalled for her to yell at her employee for simply having a different lifestyle, which is discriminatory, but to do it in front of customers is down right wrong. I gave the young man a nice tip, shared some kind words, and I hope he finds another place that can appreciate him. A smart employer would talk to him privately and even add vegan options to their menu as veganism is a growing lifestyle. This place should be boycotted!

Kwik Chek is located on the outskirts of Overton Square.Put in your order, grab a Memphis Flyer newspaper, sit at the counter and people watch Madison Avenue passers by, as you munch on a tasty sandwich.Ive been going to Kwik Chek for a decade. Its one of my go-to sandwich shops. They dont just have sandwiches, they have grab-and-go items, and hot noodle/rice/veggie dishes. I hear their hot meals are incredible. However, Im a sandwich girl so thats my main focus for this review. Aside from the menu of specialty sandwiches, you can make your own.Dine in or get your food to-go.They have subs, rolls and sliced bread. You can keep your sandwich cold or have it toasted in what I think is a pizza oven.I order two sandwiches on the regular: The Veggie Delight or The Turk. The Veggie Delight is out of this world. Vegetables mixed in a Greek yogurt-type sauce with hummus wrapped in a pita. YUM!!!!! The Turk is a turkey sandwich on a roll thats crispy on the outside and tender in the middle.A sandwich is but a lonely slab of layered fodder without tasty chips and a drink.Kwik Chek has a wall of chips with all kinds of varieties. They also have a wide variety of drinks and sweets, from candy to baked cookies and cakes. The cakes are so good.I also love the grab-and-go deviled eggs and salad, if Im in a rush.FYI...Orders usually take 15-20 minutes. Parking is slim pickings. If youre happy with your order, consider leaving a buck or two in the tip jar for the sandwich team.A sandwich, chips and drink usually cost $10-$11.Kwik Chek is worth a try!
