I stopped by this coffee shop in the downtown Memphis area on Sunday morning. It was a lazy morning, a few People gathered there chatting over the coffee. The coffee shop has a cool vibe, however, not the best one. I ordered a cheesy danish and a cold mocha. The danish was decent, but the coffee was too mediocre. It was too sweet. However, the barista was very caring and sweet.

Randomly decided to stop in because I had some unexpected free time and I was glad I did, great atmosphere and I loved my mocha. Will definitely be back.

The best vanilla chai latte Ive ever had! And the stuffed croissant was delicious!

Havent had the coffee but the tea and food are outstanding. Especially the cranberry chicken salad! Keep up the great work.

The burista, Mary, was very friendly and helped me pick a drink which was delicious! The environment was very relaxing and interesting with the old bank safe. Definitely a place worth checking out, especially if you are like me who is interested in supporting local businesses

Just walked up Main Street from my last disaster attempt at getting a good coffee (see my previous reviews) and found this gem... Qahwa. Finally a great coffee. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.

Love the vibe and beverages at Qahwa; its a great place to take a break or people watch on Main.

Drinks were tasty and the staff was very nice! Huge variety of drink options without a hefty price. The cafe was pleasant and very clean.

I like their coffee, bread, and cozy atmosphere. If you are looking for a peaceful place to read/write, Qahwa is always an option.

Im giving two stars because the coffee smelled good. The female (large frame masculine demeanor) was extremely rude when I simply asked if she could tell me what Irish creme tasted like to help me decide between two coffees and her response was I cant tell you what it tastes like, have you never had Irish creme before? It tastes like Irish creme. I replied No! Stepped back and quietly exited the establishment.

UPDATE:Very friendly and nice people. They have since fixed the problem with the packaging of their to-go food.––––––––OLD:Not a pleasant experience getting breakfast food to go.They used napkins to wrap the sandwich in. It was very difficult to unwrap, as they stuck to the sandwich.

1st Timer, did not disappoint. I will be back.

Meh- only one roast- medium, no heavy cream, snarky barista. Coffee is ok.

The owner was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. He made a great recommendation (cold brew, Ethiopia) and let me stick around after close because I was working on my laptop. Great experience - thanks again.

Really good coffee. Great flavor. The man working here was very nice. He said “everyday is a beautiful day.” I loved that! Great place to visit if you’re downtown.

Coffee is great, and the staff is always very helpful. They have a variety of coffee options as well as some good sandwiches.

Fred is a great host. He will keep you laughing. He is always trying to sell me a croissant ( smile). If you are a chess player come down an play in the vault sometimes. It will definitely help your concentration in playing the game.

Visiting Memphis for the first time and this was the best spot for coffee. The espresso roast is smooth and delicious. Staff is great and the drinks are superb. No complaints at all.

Worst experience ever. If you’re looking for a good coffee place, go to Hustle & Dough which is 2 mins away or Cafe Eclectic in Harbortown. They have amazing service and are so clean. The owner is extremely rude and the inside is disgusting. When I walked in he wasn’t even at the counter when I rang the bell he was so mean to me. I’m a nice person so I know I didn’t do anything to cause this behavior. Safe yourself a trip and support other local small businesses who are kind.

This coffee bar is absolutely wonderful. While in Memphis for a conference I visited Qahwa several times and the staff was always great and the coffee and croissants were delicious. They even opened the store an hour early the day we were leaving so that we could come for breakfast one more time. Lovely staff and warm atmosphere. Wish I would’ve known about this place when I lived in Memphis. Will definitely come back to Qahwa whenever I am in town!

I got a specialty frappe and a triple berry shake. The flavors were on point. You could taste real berries in the shake. The service was awesome and helpful. They also have a cool vault room.

The food is super, super good high quality and affordable. The owner actually opened an hour early for us when he found out we were leaving early the next day. Staff are amazing and kind. Go visit this unique place!

I have eaten here a few times now. It is always so quiet and cozy. I dont drink coffee so I always have a smoothie and some type of sandwich. It is always so fresh and hot..... not to mention delicious!! The staff is so friendly and they remember their customers. I recommend this place to anyone!! Keep up the good work.

We stopped by Qahwa on a freezing cold, snowy day. It was a little bit of a challenge for us to find the place, as its tucked into the corner of a much larger building. But once we did, we were really pleased with the service inside. Unfortunately, thanks to the weather, their card reader was down, but a very nice gentleman actually paid for our coffees...always amazed when humanity gives me a little spark of hope. The coffee ended up being really excellent, and were glad we stopped in.

Great coffee and friendly staff. If you need a little pick me up in the morning this is the place to go! The chicken salad croissant was very good as well but honestly the coffee here is the main attraction. They know what theyre doing. Definitely recommend!

Stumbled upon this coffee shop by chance on my lunch break one day and I have been hooked ever since. Staff is very helpful and friendly every time I stop in so don’t be afraid to ask questions! Most importantly though, the coffee is some of the best I’ve had in Memphis.

Amazing coffee and staff. Really nice to just sit and relax while you drink your cup of Joe (or tea or coffee soda or even nitro brew). Sadly just a tourist and wont be able to make this my go to coffee joint. They make a MEAN Turkish coffee. Highly highly recommend

Had the cold brew and an iced cap. Was much tastier than chain shop coffee, cheaper too. The dude behind the counter was nice, the place seemed relaxed and well decorated (and theres an actual bank vault you can sit in if you like)

It was amazing! I had the Claridge House Latte it was smooth, creamy and just the right temp. Good and hot but not scalding. The breakfast sandwich was a great value too. Totally satisfied!

The best people ever work there. They deliver the best customer service, and they know how to make a mean cup of joe! I recommend trying the nitrogen beverages. Theyll be nice and let you sample them before you buy. But, really, any drink you get from them will be made with the utmost passion and deliciousness.

I like this place a lot, mostly for the Memphis Mocha (might have butchered the name, its minty chocolatey goodness). It used to be an old bank, which you can tell from the giant vault door they still have, perfect for a small (2-4 people) meeting. The owner is extremely friendly and the staff is great. Its a local joint with another shop also in Downtown, which I have yet to go to. If you live or work nearby I highly recommend checking the place out.

This is so far my favorite coffee shop ive been to in Memphis! Not only are the drinks fantastic and the menu more diverse than most, the people that work here are genuine. They will how around with you and be sure youre having a good visit! If you want quality coffee and quality people, this is the place to be

Normally I dont come this far north on Main, but I definitely will venture up again. Great spot! From walking in the door the staff and owner were very kind and welcoming. The gentleman at the counter checked on any questions about the food and drink menu. I got the charcoal frappe which is really good. I honestly dont know if it had charcoal in it. It was mocha and coconut and so good. Id be hard pressed to try something else on the menu. Ive never had nitro coffee so maybe Ill try. Oh, the croissant with chicken salad was really good too. I hate big chunks of celery so it was right up my alley.I almost wish I had someone to play chess with as they had a nice set up for that too.Shokran!

Good coffee, good atmosphere

The coffee, food and service are fine. But while we were there we heard really disturbing comments about immigrants that, regardless of your politics, anyone should find reprehensible. They were basically advocating for a hurricane to wipe out refugees. I confronted the manager about it and told him we would not be back.

Excellent service! The croissants are so delectable! Had the Mississippi Mudslide signature drink; it was ok. Lovely atmosphere!! Im traveling to Dallas from Atlanta, today was below freezing so the warm food and drink was spot on! Will come back when in Memphis! Thanks ladies for a job well done ;-)

Had a morning wander while in Memphis for a conference, and loved this little cafe! The food was good, the coffee was great, and the staff were super kind and clearly have a wonderful relationship with their regulars (one of whom is immortalized on a t-shirt they sell), as well as being very welcoming and helpful for out-of-towners like me. The Turkish coffee was perfect. The 90s playlist was an ideal way to sit and take in the morning. A+ would visit again for sure.

We stopped here for a milk based latte and a soy iced latte. Milk one was normal, ok. The soy one was chalky, and had small white chunks in it. When we brought this up to the people behind the counter their point was to show us the soy milk didn’t expire until tomorrow or make it sweeter to cover up the chalky taste. No offer to get us something different or refund. Very disappointing. I root for small coffee shops but they have to try to have customer service.

Not only am I a new resident to the Claridge Condos, Im also a happy customer to Qahwas which is conveniently located in the building below my Condo. The very first time I ordered a Vanilla Chi latte in Memphis was at Qahwa. Coming from Los Angeles I have to say I was extremely impressed. The owner is the nicest ever. My very first visit he allowed me to experience every flavor of the fermented tea Qahwa carries while I waited for Mary-Ann to complete my Vanilla Chi Latte who gets it right every time. If youre in Memphis whether its downtown or Midtown..be sure to visit the best coffee house down by the river.

First week in the memphis city and I am so glad I found this place ! I will come back to this cozy, welcoming cafe every time i am in the area! Loved this new spot !!! I have always wanted to go to a real cafe like this. With the music, the couches, the loveseats, the artwork and paintings, the tables, the rug, the menu, offering every type of drink you can think of plus the perfect small bite to go with it. Also, I have officially fallen in-love with smoothies and italian paninis lol The menu is on the pricer side but its worth it. This is why it is so important to support local businesses instead of going to chain fast food spots all the time because you never knew what kind of deals or tasty new treats youll discover !No offense to my beloved starbucks but... Starbucks has NOTHING on Qahwa ❤☕❤
