I am not necessarily complaining about the service but I didn’t feel welcomed here. I felt judged. The way I was looked at upset me, I am an overweight older woman and the guys made me feel like I was disgusting to them. Then to top it all off I went to pick up my car, it was a rainy day, and I slipped and fell after walking across the rug by the door. There must have been water there. Now I’m not saying it wasn’t an accident but when I fell the guy never came around from behind the counter to assist me or check on me. I was embarrassed but days later it still bugs me that he didn’t try to help me. I could have been seriously hurt. All he mentioned was that there was a rug by the door to dry my feet on and asked me if I was alright. I had to crawl to a stool to pick myself up. Humiliating.

After a huge quote from our dealer on a routine maintenance check up, we were recommended to Farlow by our friends at Pitstop. Thank goodness for great recommendations, Chris took care of our needs and went through everything we needed to get completed in order to keep our “Warranty Forever Policy” they are ASE certified and I will be recommending them to anyone I know who needs quality routine maintenance on your car. We got everything we needed and it didn’t break the bank, my husband and I were very satisfied with our service and will be returning for future maintenance for our vehicle. As a small business owner ourselves, we know how important it is to spread the word on other small family owned businesses and I’m so very thankful to have found a great Auto shop I feel I can trust. Outstanding end up service, flexible work ethic to accommodate for time and transportation needs. Was upfront and honest when they werent able to diagnose a specific issue with my car confidently, but when Ford with the most likely course of action in regards to fixing it and ended up being spot on correct. Not recommended had 2007 lexus ES350 with my front shaking first they told me it was the tires so i purchased the tires for $288.00 next Week same problem . Couldnt find out what was the problem I took the car somewhere else and told me it was the wheel bearing so i bring it back to them and now they told oh its your axle while they checked out the car never told me about my axle i feel like they wanted to sell me tires for no reason still have the same problem. Bullshiter.....not recommended

I had problems with my air conditioning and was referred to Farlow by another shop. I called with the diagnosis and was given a quote which I felt was very fair. Come to find out a mistake was made on the owners part and the repairs would take extra time without hesitation an apology was made and the repairs were made at the original quoted price. My air conditioning was replaced by the dealership when I purchased the truck but it did not perform like it does now. I am very pleased with the service as well as customer service. I was even given a loaner truck for a few hours at no additional charge. These people really treated me good and will be seeing all of my vehicles when work is needed. Thank You Gary for being a stand up guy and sticking to your price.

After using a major tire company for too many years and feeling they always up sold any repair, I was referred to Farlow by a friend. The chain provider said I needed new brakes for $400+ (front only). Farlow drove then examined the car, reported back that breaks had over 30% remaining and should not be replaced yet. Getting cars repaired can be stressful, simply because you dont know when your hearing the entire truth and paying a reasonable price. Go to farlow and you want worry about either. Any they didnt charge for anything.

Gary Farlow has been in business for many years and knows his stuff. I took my car to the dealer and had to tell them what I thought the problem was...they couldnt find that problem. I talked to Gary, described the problem and he knew exactly what it was. My car was in and out within a few hours, no more problem. Highly recommend.

Farlow Automotive is well-established in Melbourne with a great location at Wickham and Ellis. Expect highly professional service, a very clean lobby with comfortable places to sit, and coffee. We were referred to Gary and his team almost eight years ago. It is the only place we have our vehicles serviced. You can be confident that your vehicle will be fixed or maintained correctly - the first time.

So happy I stopped in there yesterday. My air conditioning has never worked properly even after being serviced. Last week it stopped working completely. I randomly stopped in on my way home and they not only got it working again, but its working better than it ever has! Not to mention they were super friendly and fast. I will definitely use them again!

Gary Farley runs this place and hes an awesome guy. Ive known him for years and hes worked on many different cars of mine and my familys. Theyre not too expensive and theyre not too cheap. One thing I can tell you is that they do good work and they take pride in that and that they are honest.

I wish I had spoken with these guys a month ago! two other shops in the Melbourne area were supposed to call me back about an oil pan replacement on my 4x4 Dodge Cummins truck; i had to keep calling them only to be told that they would get back to me. I called Farlow on Monday and dropped the truck off Tuesday; it was ready Wednesday! Not only did they want my business, they did it for less and in half the time quoted by the other shops! They will definitely get more work form me.

Mr. Farlow has been the only one to service our 13-year-old Hyundai for the past 7 years, and it shows. The car has never left us stranded...except for that one time I knew we needed a new battery but didnt bother to get one. Hah! Jokes on me, but Garys service is no joke. Got my brakes and rotors replaced at a reasonable price. Gary was even willing to give me a discount for additional work that I needed. Very honest guys and the head mechanic is a wonderful doggo. Thats a mechanic you can trust! Will be going again when I need more work.

Honest and solid repair facility! From normal maintenance to engine and transmission replacements and great tire prices. If you are having tire balance issues, they also have a road force balancing machine to get it right. Gary and his crew are just a bunch of great folks!

This shop is wonderful. I have five cars including a collector car and I am extremely happy with the work done by Farlow Automotive. I have been bringing my cars here for repair for about 12 years. The owner communicates clearly with me upfront with what I need and he calls me for approval if anything changes after he is under the hood. Took my grandmas Buick into the shop they said it was a rack and pinion close to $1,000 later car still not driving right making noises took the car and a week later back in the shop they said oh its not the rack and pinion its power steering pump and refused to work with me in any way my family no longer trust the shop as when you think about it they basically ran with $1,000 from an elderly senior citizen nothing but thumbs down considering what they did

My wife and I spent several thousand dollars at Farlow over the course of a year or so. (Definitely over $3K. Maybe as much as $5K. Not sure.) I don’t hate the place, but they haven’t thrilled me either. I think the final factor that drove us to find a different shop is having to redo and amend $1000 worth of work a little over a year after we went to Farlow. It had something to do with the water pump and belt tensioner system. When we mentioned that it sounds like there’s a problem with the pump they replaced, the owner was mostly abrupt about it being out of warranty and disinterested in making sure it isn’t/wasn’t related to their prior work. I’m not very savvy when it comes to automobiles, so I can’t be too critical or describe it accurately. I don’t think they made our cars worse, at least. I can only say they didn’t strike me as a very customer’s best interest oriented shop, and they didn’t seem too concerned about customer loyalty. I always had a lingering feeling I was being treated more like a human wallet due to my inexperience with car repair than a valued customer at Farlow. They were always very generous about making recommendations for services we could purchase from them, but it felt like that’s about the extent of the generosity.At one visit, I casually expressed something like ouch when I saw the bill around $1k for a tuneup or one of the other services I purchase around that range. The owner mentioned something to the effect of Aren’t there Farlow coupons at your work place? - to which I replied ...I haven’t noticed any..., and that’s where we left the conversation, as if the unspoken response was Well, thanks for spending more. See ya.Every time i checked their prices against common prices for these types of services, it always seemed to be at least as expensive or even 1/3 more expensive than the **max** price tag listed in online forums and blogs. I concede I make the mistake of approving services with them before scrutinizing prices or getting quotes from down the block.EDIT: They know who I am, good or bad. I typically sign my name as Adam Meyer, but my common nickname is scradam. Maybe their response was simply meant to discredit a negative review. *shrug*Like I said, Farlow, I dont hate you. I just dont trust you. 3 stars. Not 1 star. Im writing to let people know Farlow doesnt give me a warm and fuzzy like other shops Ive had the fortune of using in the past. If my review gives you umbrage, just try harder with your remaining customers. There are enough other shops in the immediate area that I feel content just trying my luck elsewhere as opposed to making amends with you. However, I have to concede Im concerned enough about retaliation from you that I contemplate removing my review.

Great shop straight forward and no games.

Went to get a prepurchase inspection. Reasonable price, but they said the brakes and rotors and everything needed to be replaced and would cost 1k. The owner of the vehicle, a Mechanical Engineer who works for NASA, claimed there was nothing wrong with the brakes at all but agreed to get the brake pads changed.

I sent you a Jeep down to be looked at they said it needed a new cooing system, it had a new radiator, new water pump hoses and belts it was all NEW! You told they guy who was to buying it it was all bad! either you did not even look at it, you are incompetent or you are out right dishonest! either way the guy did not buy my truck because you LIED! I called you and told what you did was wrong you answer said the mechanic must have be mistaken what a crock of crap! You folks are dishonest to say the least!

Ive only gotten alignments here, but they are always right and dont try to sell me stuff I dont need. Local owned business, seems trustworthy.

If you like to pay too much for everything.. then this is the place to go! Way over priced. Charges more than everyone else and jacks up prices on parts even though he orders them from Advanced auto parts literally two doors down. Had previous work done on two vehicles and Neither of them were repaired correctly! Took both of them back both times and still not fixed! Will never go there again!

I had tires underinflated and stopped at Farlow Automotive and they were respectful and took care old my Charger right away and at no cost. I have another issue with my car and I will go back to them for repair.

Shady people. They tried to charge my 60year old mother in law almost 700$ to do pads, rotors and calipers. They said the calipers were seized and the brake fluid boiled. Parts alone cam out to almost 400$ [are you kidding me]. Ive been a mechanic for 10 years and its sickening someone would try and take advantage of someone who doesnt know better. Needless to say new brake pads, and new rotors [for 70$!] all is well. YOU GUYS A CROOKS!

Would like to thank Gary and his staff for a job well done. I took my vehicle to a local Auto Parts store over the weekend for a check engine light issue and it gave a plug miss fire code. I took my vehicle to Farlows on Monday to have them check it out and was out of there in 20 mins.
