I have been using North Gateway Tire for years. I recently called to schedule an oil change, tire rotation and brake check. I was told that no appointment is needed for those services and to just come in. I did just that and I was told that it would take a couple hours. I informed the sales person that I didn’t have a couple hours to sit and wait and asked to make an appointment so I could drop the car off. I was told “sorry we don’t make appointments for oil changes”. Possibly the store doesn’t want to do oil changes which is fine however they have sold me the tires and brakes that are on the vehicle. I think management needs to rethink that strategy.

10/29/21. Very disorganized. Waste of your time. I used to frequent this place but its gone downhill and I wont go back.They dont take appointments for a lot of common needs like flat repairs and oil changes. You call and ask about an appointment and they suggest to show up when they first open to get in quickly. Well guess what happens... They say that to everyone and EVERYONE shows up 7:30am and its like a mini Black Friday line. After the first four or so people get in youre already looking at 90 minutes. For the love of god, take appointments and respect everyones time.In my case they were fixing a slow leak. After about 1.5 hours I got the call to pick up my car. I drive off the lot and my repaired tire in question is still riding low at 20psi. I had to take it back and explain to two reps (who wouldnt believe me until they saw the tire) it was still riding low and that I drove far enough to reset the sensor (its not my first rodeo). Another 40 minutes and I was out of there.Also another small jab to customers is that they no longer patch tires for free. Initially thats why I chose to go out of my way to this place because in the past, if they could patch it they didnt charge. I asked the rep a few times if they were no longer doing that and he kept giving me indirect answers like, If you got the tires from us, well do it for free. etc. Finally another rep could sense my frustration and thankfully actually answered my question directly rather than skirting about the issue. The short answer is no, we dont do that anymore.Lastly, you want to get tire prices? Good luck. Theyre not easily available online like most every other tire shop. Sure you can submit a quote and enter your name, email, phone, plates and comments... Individually.... for EVERY set of tires youre looking at, but what a waste of time. Otherwise you have to call and waste your time AND a poor employees time by giving you quotes verbally. Or better yet, drive to the location and discuss all this at the counter while the line piles up behind you. Just horribly inconvenient on all fronts.Ill be going where I can make an appointment and find easily accessible prices online without giving up my personal info.

VERY SAD BEEN GOING HERE ALMOST TWENTY YEARS. LATELY PRICES HAVE BEEN GETTING RIDICULOUS. WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST OVER SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS TO FIX MY EXHAUST AND A WEEK TO GET THE PARTS. TOOK IT DOWN THE STREET TO ANOTHER BUSINESS FIXED IT IN FORTY MINUTES FOR A HUNDRED THIRTY BUCKS. NO LONGER TRUST THIS PLACE . UNFORTUNATELY THE PAST FEW TIMES I WENT THERE HAVENT FELT RIGHT ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE. BUT I WAS A LOYAL CUSTOMER. NO MORE. GOOD BYE NORTHGATE WAY.

Dropped off a camper tire to be repaired, and was told 2 hours. After around an hour and a half they hadnt started on it. I decided to leave it and go back the next day. When I picked it up Jeff said no charge. And he found me 2 lug nuts I needed. These folks are very busy, but go out of their way to make it up to you. He didnt have to do that but it sure was a nice gesture. I will go back when I need tires.

They took my van back right away and fixed the tire that apparently had a nail in it...at NO charge! I was blown away. Such a nice gesture! Normally good pricing and good service, but there is one service rep that makes you feel like hes doing you a favor by waiting on you. Its always very tense with him and he is very unwelcoming. Ive chosen another tire provider because of him. Tires are a commodity and customer service has to be there. Im not going to walk on egg shells when im paying this kind of money.

I took in 2 Tractor tires that held air and had them mount 2 new tires and added 2 new tubes for the tires . one is fine the other they had to patch the new tube. now it needs fixed again. i havent even used the tractor since i bought the the new tires . i guess i should have waited til i had a problem with the old tires before putting new tires on it.

Good for tires not much else. Had repairs done. That need repaired again.Called about warranty work numerous times. They always said we will call back that day never did. After doing this for several days and no call back, I decided to go elsewhere to have the repairs done.Very disappointed in this shop, unfortunate I expected more.Edited as of 12/19Shop reached out and helped out greatly..My faith is restored. Repairs were done in a very timely manner.

If there is ever a time that I come back in and need a splashield replacement, DO NOT put a piece of the broken hard plastic splashield in my trunk laying directly one of my subwoofer cones . You guys scratched the protective coating, and if my subwoofer had blown out because the lack of consideration of one of your mechanics you would surely be eating the 300 dollars it costs to replace one of those subs. Be more aware next time and have some consideration when you see anyone that has expensive audio equipment when youre putting things in someones trunk. There is a reason there is nothing in the trunk but the subwoofer box!

I recently purchased 6 new tires for our motorhome from North Gateway which, as you can imagine, is far more expensive than for a car. I dealt with Steve, the Retail Sales Manager, who was most helpful and professional. He even went the extra mile to provide valve stem extensions for the rear tires which makes checking the psi much easier. Ill definitely be back there again.

Excellent customer service!!! I was provided a phone number for Gateway from my RV dealer, at the time I didnt realize they were located in Medina and I was in the Cincinnati area. Nevertheless Steve answered my call and was so helpful in giving advice on RV tires. I even called the next day with another question and Steve continued to help even though he knew I was not buying tires from them. Thanks so much Steve!!!

Sent in my partner to get a price on some routine work and a quote for some extra things preventative as we were shopping around. Well after going in some other day myself this time asking for the same services but from a different guy as it turned out, I sought to price things out again in trying to come up with a similar quote as before told my partner, however the whole price came up totally different. After some careful diologue about it, things seemed so shady I thought not even bothering bringing up anything prior to that about it. My partner and I had our pricings and such from not only this place but all the other shops we had visited too and this one was definitely crossed out on our list. Intentionally misleading or not the whole deal seemed shady no doubt. Shame on you guys. Dont even bother responding back with your ubiquitous misundersting or miscommunication excuses. We made no mistake. Shame, shame on you guys.

Absolute best experience I could ask for! My tire went flat and I had a really busy day of work. I took my car to North Gate Way during my lunch and didnt have much time. They were able to repair my tire and since they couldnt get it done during my lunch they actually drove me back to work and picked me up! The staff was helpful and it was inexpensive! I will definitely be going back.

I would never go anywhere else for tires. No high pressure sales, and great prices that include rotation and road hazard protection for the life of the tire. As a female, I feel like a lot of places are trying to rip me off. Not here! The nice waiting area with free popcorn and coffee, and a small kids area is a big bonus.

Made an appointment to take my truck in for a tire rotation and alignment, and it took almost 2 hours. A couple that came in 30 minutes after I did (had a slow leak), bought new new tire, had them installed, and were out 30-40 minutes before I was. No one on staff moves with a sense of urgency. They are polite, but the service is lacking priority. Making an appointment, or just walking in seems to be a 50/50 split to determine how long you will be waiting for your vehicle. Before they brought my truck out, they informed me that they didn’t even do the alignment because they noticed an issue with an upper control arm and that to do an alignment without fixing it would be a waste of their time and my money. They further added that they wouldn’t be able to get to the repairs until another day. They brought my truck out 10 minutes later. So after 2 hours and 10 minutes pf my time, and a total of $65 for them re-balancing each tire, I drove away with the best tire rotation in Ohio. I wouldn’t return to this establishment...Remember me? I gave 2 stars because they politely took my time and money.

First snow of the season, so they were super busy. They were able to mount new tires for our tractor in 10 minutes and at a great price as well. It was worth the drive from Richfield. Thank you North Gateway Tire.

Called on Friday afternoon regarding a loud screeching noise in front tire. Mark stated they were busy Saturday, but if I could get it in at 7:30 a.m. hed take a look at it. There was a line at 7:30, but in less than 15 mins I was already checked in and my car was taken back. By 8:00 I was leaving with my car fixed, a stone was wedged in brake system. They didnt charge me for this. Their customer service is top-notch. Thank you, Gateway!

Honest, Honest, Honest! I have been to another shop 3 times to fix a tire, I gave up and was ready to replace the tire, up to a new set of tires. They walked my vehicle, checked the tread. Told me I dont need tires, then found a hole that the other shop couldnt. Handed me a bill that stated free/no charge and asked me to come back when I needed some work done. Customer service exists in the industry and I found it at North Gateway tire. I will be back for those tires and other services as I need them. Also listened to how they interacted with other customers. There was a elderly lady who came in, and they treated her like family, offered a ride home while they worked on the car and had a 5-10 minute conversation with her about other things than her car. Just awesome!

Always a pleasant experience. Ive brought my truck there and once my wifes van. They never try and sell you things you dont need, they price match, theyre friendly, and they treat every customer great; even if the job is small. Ive had so many bad experiences with almost every place in Medina County, I refuse to take my vehicles any where else besides North Gateway now.

There is a reason I always come back. My last car, every other tire place in Medina said they couldn’t do a tire change because the tires were “too low profile”. NGT did it. Just brought my Jeep in for tire Mount and balance and an alignment. CS Rep. said “we can get the tires done but we will have to schedule an alignment for another day”. Contemplating going to another place for the alignment as I’m getting on the road the day after. CS Rep tells me “we’re going to get you in for an alignment right after the tires are on”. They always do what they can to make sure you don’t have to go anywhere else and their service and expertise is unmatched. If your going somewhere else for vehicle service, stop. Turn around and go to NGT. Fairly priced not once have I been dissatisfied in the past couple of years.

They do okay work but I promise they DO not care about you, they just want your money and they price gouge EXTREMELY HIGH for parts. A part that will be $50 from autzone they wanted to charge me $300+ for. They try very hard to be sneaky and get unsuspecting customers money. This is why they REFUSE to use any outside parts or customer supplied parts. Very shady business and extremely overpriced. Do not waste your money here, please go to a smaller local non-chain shop that will do the same job just as good for 75% less of a price. Crooks

Awesome service! They are willing to talk you through what ever questions you have. They will make a recommendation on tires but the choice is yours, no pressure at all. I had a flat on a tire I purchased from them a while back, and came in close to closing time. They got me taken care of and fixed it at no charge. My wife normally goes to our shop in Canton but works in Medina very close to North Gateway so she decided whats the harm in them doing her oil change. Well....the mechanic told my wife her oil pan plug was bad so instead of replacing it, he forced a much bigger nut into the hole causing a crack and even worse leaking. Told her we can fix it but itll be a couple hundred bucks. She calls and then they quote her $629 plus misc charges. Take it to my shop in Canton and not only was it done for around $350 but was told they cracked her oil pan and her $65 synthetic oil came out BLACK. Were talking less than 3,000 miles later. People synthetic oil is not black. It was never changed. So men dont send your wife in to get even her oil changed here or else you will end up leaking all over your own garage, she will get taken advantage of if shes not hip to automotive, and an even bigger bill due to THEIR mistake. Ridiculous.

I had a problem with my oil light coming on, so I took my car up here hoping to figure out the problem. I waited over an hour and a half for them to tell me that I need a new car. They said it was spewing oil... that was just power steering fluid from my leaky pump. Youd think theyd know the difference. My oil problem was just the pressure sensor. I ended up taking my car to Vista Tire for a second opinion, and they had it fixed in less than 2 hours. I will not reccomend north gateway.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Service is always excellent. Good pricing. If a problem pops up they alway bend over backwards to make it right. Highly recommended.

These guys rock. I have never had a poor experience here. Theyve been taking care of my entire family (dad, mom, brothers, sisters, close friends) for going on a decade now. Bought a set of Yokohama Geolandar A/Ts last year for my Pathfinder per their suggestion, couldnt be happier with them. Went off-roading and my brothers lifted Jeep got swamped while my stock Nissan laughed at it and played rescue. The blizzards we had this winter were shrugged off as trivial. Rain isnt even an issue. Cant stress enough how much these guys know their trade and run a solid operation. I go out of my way to recommend them whenever the topic of tires come up in conversation.

Great place . This was my third time going here and have been beyond pleased with there services.

I spent hours, on the internet and on the phone, searching for replacement tires for my 1996 Winnebago Rialta. My motor home needed commercial tires in a size that was no longer available. Every avenue I tried was a dead end. Then I spoke to Jeff Hill at North Gateway Tire in Medina. He spent a great deal of time on the phone with me doing research. Places he needed to call were already closed for the day so he continued to work on the problem that evening and the next morning.He didnt simply assume a different tire with the same load capacity would work. He was concerned about gear ratios, handling, and every other item that would be affected by using a different tire than the manufacturer recommended. I was very impressed with his level of knowledge and effort to make certain of his recommendation. None of the other places I phoned held a candle to the level of service provided here.

I had heard from a friend that these guys not only had SNOW tires, but would store your all season tires (or snow tires) when not in use!!! Im not sure that it gets any better than that. I called ahead because I wasnt sure if they would be able to take me today -- and Pat told me to come right over.When I got there, the place seemed packed to me -- but I was told that it was actually pretty slow and they would get right to me.And get this -- waiting was no problem because they had FREE WIFI and an office space where you could plug your computer in and get some work done. That was amazing!With it being Small Business Shopping Week -- this is the place to go to get your tires (and probably other car care) taken care of.Come on over - you wont regret it.

I had recently given this place a bad review BUT I gave them another chance. Had another 7,000 miles left on my original OEM tires but had 1 tire that had been fixed twice but was leaking AGAIN. Discount Tire and Firestone refused to fix the tire (nail hole in the center of the tread pattern) and would only sell me new tires. Parrish McIntyre Tire TOLD ME THEY COULD FIX MY TIRE IN 4 DAYS (really? who can wait 4 days to get a tire fixed?). North Gateway Tire took me right away, fixed my tire and rotated my tires, flipped me my keys and said come back in 3 months when youre ready for new tires, WOW!! THANKS STEVE, you just made a customer for life !!! Good for you too, I drive 45k a year !!! I removed my old review, they quoted a great price on my next set of tires. Special shout out to Steve, youre awesome buddy, thanks.

The tech observed her OEM tires tread life were expired during the routine service inspection. Having little accumulation of snow this winter it was unacknowledged in her daily travels. Im thankful for their suggestions as we experienced icy roads last night and this morning. Steve (NGT Sales Representative) suggested and had the NGT service team install the TOYO CELIOS All Season tires. The traction is absolutely amazing and the potential hazards that could have resulted from what we were not aware of, were eliminated and put my wife and children back on the road safely. Honestly, Im lucky myself and others didnt die from their mistake.A few years ago, I took my truck in for new brake pads and rotors...ended up leaving with a leak in my brake line since they failed to seal it properly before sending me off.After picking my truck up, I hit 71-S to head to Columbus for the start of Spring semester at OSU. I noticed I had to push the brakes a lot further down to decelerate, but as a naive 19 year old kid with little mechanical experience, assumed this was normal following brake service. The next evening when I jumped in my truck to run errands, I lost almost all ability to brake while driving through campus (due to the loss of brake fluid) and was lucky pedestrians werent around.Im blessed to have worked with the campus maintenance department, where one of my co-workers was able to bleed air out of the line and repair for me, free of charge. Saying that, there is 0% chance I would ever return to North Gateway after this experience.When they were contacted about this issue, they suggested driving it back up to Medina so they could address it......because that makes total sense. This kind of mistake should never happen and could have been fatal.

Awesome experience! I was having problems with a tire slowly leaking air and just stopped in one morning without an appointment (I was recommended to them by a friend). Despite it being busy, they squeezed me in and I was out the door in less than an hour. The problem ended up being a crack in the valve stem and rather than just putting on a factory replacement which wouldve cost $70 (since it was attached to a pressure sensor), they explained to me exactly what the problem was and gave me a number of options to choose from. I ended up settling for a non-sensor stem and was out the door for just over $20. Im incredible thankful for them taking the time to educate me on the issue and for offering me a variety of options without any pressure.Although they didnt make much money off my visit this time, I will definitely be a return customer and will recommend them to family and friends so this just shows that by putting forth extra effort and not gouging the customer on a small issue like this, can still yield addl business down the road.Thanks again to the staff for their help!
