Bruce at Motion industries had quoted me $289 for a brand new Bodine motor plus an estimated maximum of $50 for shipping, putting my max total at $339, which I agreed to pay. I gave my debit information and loaded the bank account with the proper amount of currency for them to charge. For some reason, they sent me the motor before charging me for it. A few days after I get the motor now theyre trying to charge my account - for an amount much higher than what we originally agreed upon.Bruce called me and explained that somebody at Motion Industries had goofed and over paid $200 for shipping for this motor, an amount which I NEVER AUTHORIZED and WOULD NEVER agree to pay. This was made absolutely, 100% crystal clear to Bruce. So Motion Industries made the mistake of overpaying for shipping on this order. There is absolutely no reason why the customer should be asked to cover the cost of such a goof.Regardless of how obvious it is that Motion Industries was absolutely, 100% responsible for this mistake, Bruce asked me if I would help cover the cost of their goof. I said SORRY MAN, but NO... I agreed to pay a certain amount, YOU GUYS made a mistake, so YOU need to eat the extra cost... DUH!!! This is what any rational person would say.Bruce agreed with me. He explained that Motion industries isnt going to make any profit off of this order at this price but they arent going to lose any either. I said good enough. So in my mind, after that conversation, Im thinking that he is going to charge my account for the right amount...which is $339. Well I check my bank statement a few minutes later and they OVERCHARGED ME ANYWAY even after we talked about this! Unbelievable!Bruce knew the amount that I owed them was only $339 but he charged my account for an amount higher than that anyway, to try to make up for his losses that were due to HIS MISTAKE...EVEN AFTER I SAID I WASNT WILLING TO COVER THAT COST! Bad business!SORRY BRUCE, you guys goofed, thats why you dont get to make any profit on this order...you HAVE NO RIGHT TO TRY TO OVERCHARGE ME TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR GOOF!I suspect Bruce was just hoping that I wouldnt check my bank statement and that the extra money would just slip by unnoticed. I dont know if this rises to something that can reasonably be quantified as theft or petty theft, but its pretty damn close. Not sure what kind of operation these guys are running but Im not very impressed. These jerks STILL havent refunded my account to reflect the proper charges. Im calling the bank today.Long story short: Dont trust these bunch of incompetent jerks because they will dishonestly and sneakily try to charge YOU for their own mistakes.Parker
The staff is incredibly helpful. The gentleman who helped me went to great lengths to source a discontinued bearing.Their shipping is fast and prices reasonable.
