I have bought several items over the years from GOG and have been 100% satisfied every time. The education on diamonds and the technologies they have to compare light output, etc from one diamond to another is truly next level. The first time I bought from them (back in 2004), I was nervous about doing it online so I drove from Va to NY to see them in person. I was treated great and felt good about everything. The last several times doing business with them has been via online or phone. I have complete trust and confidence in them to provide truly next level diamonds at a very good price. My wife constantly gets compliments on her stones as they are absolute firecrackers. GOG gets my highest recommendation

My girlfriend and I visited this store January 16th 2020 to see an engagement ring we selected from the website. We sat with Julia to pick out the stone. I put down 50% of the ring which was worth roughly 14k. March 2021 I went to pick up the ring and found out Julia ordered the wrong setting. She argued telling me I was wrong about what my girlfriend wanted. The setting she showed me looked nothing like what my girlfriend chose. The store manager told me I would now be dealing with Darren. I was told that the designer needed to make the setting and this took some time. According the the original agreement, they would start making the setting once half of the ring was paid which is why I paid half in the first place. Now they were telling me that I needed to make all the payments. So they were asking for not only more than 50% at this point but 100%. They took it upon themselves to return the diamond to whoever they had it loaned from. So now I am paying for a stone that they sent back. I was told I needed to wait for them to get the stone back and there were additional charges. They claimed that they didnt know if I would ever come back after paying well over half of the ring. The payments took about a month to go through. They continued to say it was their system when they didnt have the ring completed. I was told a different time and date to appear every week. They always ended up calling at the last second after I had taken off work or when we were on the way from Mineola. Then the excuses became they were closed for the holiday weekend, their system wouldnt work at all, they had no power, Darren was off, Darren had a family emergency, they were having their systems updated. At this point we had been promised two wedding bands worth $3000 each, an upgraded warranty, free cleanings, and money back. We found out Darren was the manager of the engagement ring department. He was never capable of telling me when he was working or if the store was open. After the fiasco with Darren we started dealing with Lisa who is supposedly part owner, in charge of customer relations. In our last dealings with Darren we asked for a necklace and earrings my girlfriend picked out as wedding jewelry and Lisa agreed. She promised to meet us Saturday August 7th to give us the ring and the other guarantees. She called us an hour before and told us that her daughter was hit by a car but promised she would open the store herself the following day. On Sunday we were on the way and she called us saying she couldnt meet. She promised we would meet Thursday. I called Wednesday to verify and she said she couldnt because she had a prior engagement she forgot about. She said she wanted to meet Friday or Saturday. I found out that I was NOT able to take off of work because of the numerous times I had taken off. Saturday she called me saying she was driving back from MA and would meet at 2:30. Then it changed to 3:30, 4, 4:25-4:40, 4:45-4:50. We were already in the parking lot at 4:15. Several times in a row she claimed she was 5 minutes away and she blamed traffic. At 5:32pm she texted about traffic and vanished. We called and texted several times yet no answer. We sat there until 7pm. It is now Monday August 16th and we have heard nothing. I reached out to Darren at least 3 times and got no response. I emailed the store directly explaining the situation and got no response however they will not be open until Tuesday. They have ruined what was supposed to be a happy time in our lives. They had made the process of my girlfriend picking out her dream ring one of horror. It is worth noting that Lisa claimed to have the ring in HER possession. She took out property off the store premises and has failed to contact us. I am not sure how legal this even is. I wanted to explain our situation in the hopes of warning others. It makes no sense to me considering the good reviews but this has been an absolute nightmare and I would NEVER wish this upon anyone else.

I bought an heart and arrow diamond engagement ring from Good Old Gold 9 years ago. I went back this year to see if they honored their upgrade guarantee. They did. If you havent been to their shop in NY and you live in driving distance, I really recommend going there in person. Even though you probably cant go wrong doing online transaction with them, I always found my time there worthwhile. I live in NJ and Ive driven there 3 times. But I always have them ship the ring to me and I never had any issues. The whole buying experience with them is a real pleasure. This is the ring I upgraded to this year. Beautiful Tacori ring with their signature crescents. This one is HT2553RD. I hesitated between this one and their Dantela 2620RDLGP and Petite HT254525RD. All these rings look very beautiful. The picture looks great but it looks even better in real life. The sparkles of this diamond is just out of the world and the setting looks just perfect. I am really satisfied with the purchase. I took the picture at night with yellow light in my bedroom. Thats why the diamond looks a bit yellow. The diamond is actually color F, 1.71 Carat, VS2. It looks very clear and very pure like a water drop during the day.

IMO opinion, David went far above-and-beyond to help us select a design and custom create a ring that my wife-to-be is over-the-moon for. It was exactly (and better than) what she wanted. Not only was his customer care and laid back, pressure-free assistance a pleasure, David worked with us on getting what we believe to be a terrific price. I have on several occasions visited Good Old Gold and purchased items and I was always a very satisfied Customer. However I recently went there to get an appraisal of my Grandmothers engagement and wedding ring. I was sure they were not worth a lot but they were around 120 years old and sentimental to me. When I arrived at the store I was greeted by a woman at the counter. I told her that the rings belonged to my grandmother and I knew that the rings were most likely not worth a lot but I wanted to get a ball park. She looked at the rings gave me a discussed look and pretty much told me they were garbage and not worth her precious time. Then she turned her back on me and walked away. Clearly I will never go there again, no one should ever be treated like a piece of garbage and clearly Good Old Gold doesnt care how there employees act toward their customers

I went to Good Old Gold right before the holidays to sell a gold chain after visiting 2 other local jewelers. The salespeople at GOG gave me a competitive price and even matched a higher offer I was given elsewhere. They were professional and courteous and most importantly I didn’t have to play the whole “haggling game” with them. Ive never done business with them, but Ive seen many of their online videos, and without hesitation I can say, the level of expertise in this company has to be seen to be believed. Even their door mat is likely to be a genius. They run souped up dragster circles around ordinary jewelers, as to their Mariana Trench depth of knowledge! Additionally they have a powerful ability to find the best sparkling diamonds available anywhere. If there was a Mount Olympus of the diamond world, these people would be residents there.

Came here today to get my ring sized down. Unfortunately they couldn’t do it, but I appreciated the woman’s honesty that there’s a chance of the diamonds falling out, and for the price it wouldn’t be worth it. So I asked her if she had any other options for sizing the ring and she suggested a rubber piece that wraps around the bottom. It did the trick! I also asked if she could clean both rings I brought in. She cleaned them and also put the rubber piece on for me no problem! I asked her how much I owed her and she said there was no charge. I thought this was so kind of her! She definitely didn’t need to do that! My rings look great thanks to Good Old Gold! :)

We have been searching for several months for the perfect cushion cut diamond and found it here!I was doing research online and found some YouTube videos from Good Old Gold. Twice I was there. 1st time to reset a ring with a pretty big stone. They mail it out. Took longer and I didn’t feel as comfortable as I should have been. 2nd time took my rings to get cleaned. The lady gave me an attitude and just steamed it a bit. I said aren’t you going to shine it up. I mean I just purchased a shine towel. Anyway she said that it would have to be sent out. I said for a cleaning? And she said yes. Disappointed 2 times.

I had an excellent experience purchasing an engagement ring from the folks at Good Old Gold. Jon, Lynda, and the rest of the crew were very helpful, answered every question I had ( and I can assure you there were a lot) without making me feel like I was troubling them. They provided no pressure, and no sales calls over the 6+ months it took me to make up my mind, and that means a lot to me, I hate pushy sales people. I got a beautiful diamond at a much lower price than local mall stores, and got to see what I was buying in advance through all of their information, photos, analysis, and scans. I was very weary of making the largest jewelry purchase of my life to date over the internet from someone I have never met. So glad I did, and would do it again a hundred times over. Dont hesitate to trust them, and I am looking forward to purchasing my bands from them in the near future.

I purchased my fiances engagement ring here almost a year ago and was very happy with the service. A little over a month ago the unexpectedly broke in half.(due to manufacturing defect) Needless to say we were very upset. We brought the ring back and after a little discussion, Sarah and all the staff at good old old ensured that everything would be taken care of. They were amazingly helpful and at no cost to us they had a new ring casted and it came out perfect. I purchased an August Vintage Cushion online, from GOG, and let me tell you, this stone is gorgeous. Really something else. From the first phone call, to the final communication, everything was wonderful. Jonathan even shot a video of the 4 stones I was considering, & even shot them under different lighting environments so I could see how each performed. Not only that, but this vender has all the various images available online to evaluate the cut, light performance, grading reports etc. Bottom line? A transparent transaction. & did I say I loved my AVC?? Oh my....what a beauty!!

I started my diamond research online and inevitably came across Jonathans video tutorials. I had been casually watching some videos for about a year and as I knew Id be getting married started to seriously search for a diamond for about 5 months. Mostly still looking online and watching videos. I also visited a few stores with my wife from the common mall jewelry stores to more of the name brand Tiffanys. I had an opportunity to visit GoG during a trip to NYC and from there worked with Matt for a diamond selection and Lynda for the setting. Matt patiently helped me to narrow down a diamond selection over email and I was able to visit the store again for an in-person view of my top 3 choices. Lynda then took over with assisting us with the setting and getting it engraved to shipping it to us. My wife is very happy with the ring and from someone that spent many hours researching various physical stores and online stores like Blue Nile / Brilliant Earth I can say that GoG has some of the best cut diamonds, great service, and overall best value.

My husband and I had such an amazing experience here! Even after our purchases, we are still close with our sales person and you truly feel like family when you buy here. Firstly, my husband purchased our engagement ring here and had it custom built with the help of Sarah, one of the stores amazing representatives. She helped him coordinate directly with Tacori, gave him sound advice, was patient and beyond helpful in building the ring of my dreams. Second, my husband and I purchased our wedding bands a few months later and had a very similar experience. While there was a slight mishap with Tacori (not the ring store), Sarah was so apologetic and made it right by us which she didnt have to do but was more than appreciated. You can get your ring cleaned here and watch it being done through their window so you know your ring is in good hands - no shady business here! I would go here again in a heart beat - I trust them completely and will only purchase my jewelry from here moving forward.

When my (back then boyfriend) husband and i were at the engagement ring shopping phase, i did a lot of research on what to look for. All that knowledge came from watching good old golds videos! I felt like a pro when going into all the stores looking at diamonds! we went everywhere! I live in chicago, so i went to all the malls, over to chicago’s diamond district, different lil mom and pop shops, and still nothing can compare to the quality and prices of GOG! Clearly the hubby was not interested in dropping some money for something we couldnt physically see in person, but GOG was so good at making comparisons for us and making videos to help us see this diamond in all different lighting and compared to different cuts! They never tried to oversell us, they tried their beat to stay within our budget! Needless to say i also ended up getting my setting and wedding band from them as well due to them having the best price! There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t get asked about my ring... 4 years later:) we came back there when looking for a diamond necklace and couldnt be happier! I cant say enough good things about Good Old Gold. Matt, Marie, and the whole staff were extreme helpful in my search for my fiancés engagement ring. When reviewing diamonds they go into a level of detail beyond just the four Cs. The ASET, Hearts and Arrows, and darkfield illumination photography were simply not available from any other jeweler I talked to. This combined with their extremely detailed Sarin/Diamcalc reports helped me make a well educated decision about the diamond I was buying. I definitely recommend anyone shopping for a diamond to check with them first.
