We LOVE the ice cream and service at this place.The servers are always friendly, the ice cream is really delicious and the hand made waffle cones make this place very unique. The line’s can appear long, but it moves pretty quick. They have vegan ice cream also, and frozen yogurt. ❤️

Been coming here weekly for the past two years after Emack and Bolio’s in the Poppy Marketplace closed. Always heard positive reviews and this place absolutely does not disappoint. Also one of the only places I have been that makes peanut butter chocolate yogurt (which I highly recommend and may order by the half gallon to indulge during the week). Very friendly staff as well, always have had a positive experience here.

Best ice cream place around. Dont listen to the bad reviews - even when theres a line, it goes very quickly and they always have the best customer service. As soon as you get close to the door, admire the smell of waffle cones and make sure to order one (freshly made). I refuse to go anywhere else. If they arent open at the time we want ice cream, we forgo ice cream altogether. You wont regret getting a cone here.

Ice cream and cones were 5 stars! They set themselves apart from other establishments by making waffle cones and bowls made to order and they serve cold ice cream in warm bowls which makes something magical! The line is long but worth it. The radio on the outside makes for an unpleasant experience. The radio is unpleasantly loud and static! It needs to be turned down or the speakers need to be replaced. The large and only trash can is placed right next to the congested window where you place orders. This is inconvenient as you have to go back through the line of people to throw your trash away. It needs to be moved to the exit of the seating area. This may change once covid restrictions loosen.

Dear Mark and Team,Thank you. For nearly 20 years Polar Cave has been relished by our family across three generations. We must visit 8 - 10 times each season, sometimes in groups of three, other times with all ten of us. During all our visits we’re greeted by friend staff and a delicious and homemade product. In fact, I vividly remember when my grandfather first took me to Polar Cave when I was about four years old, and I am 24 now (thats me, in the back of the selfie posted below). I have so many wonderful memories making a mess with my ice cream and him immediately rushing home to change my clothes and hide the evidence from my mother that he let me get a large ice cream all for myself.But this evening’s visit, was particularly touching.My beloved grandfather is now 80 years-old and suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s which has posed neuromuscular and cognitive challenges. We waited in line for a little over an hour and we took turns sitting with him at an open table since standing is challenging for him. When we it was our turn, my grandfather walked from the bench to the window to order for himself since he likes maintaining what level of independence he can. And in that moment, he lit up like I haven’t seen in months. Mark said from across the store, “It’s good to see you again. How are you?,” and greeted my grandfather with a smile. And my grandfather, who doesn’t remember much, remembered Mark, and had a huge smile.After receiving his chocolate chip ice cream, he struggled to walk back to the table, and unfortunately, dropped his ice cream. He was so embarrassed, and upset too, that after waiting so long, he dropped it. He was frustrated with himself and quite literally shed a tear. But within seconds, Mark and the young lady at the window saw what happened, and noticed my grandfather on the ground trying to save his ice cream. While other guests helped my grandfather, Mark and team immediately sprung into action and remade his ice cream for him, this time, even putting it in a waffle cone, so that it was easier for him to hold.My entire family is beyond appreciative and so moved by Mark’s generosity and compassion. He didn’t see dollar signs and jump at the opportunity to charge us again for another ice cream. He simply saw a person who needed help, and of course, a sweet treat. He handled the situation in a caring way that let my grandfather maintain his dignity. My heart goes out to you all for making my grandfather, my best friend, feel special and taken care of. And I should mention, the whole ride home my grandfather smiled, laughed, and reminisced about bringing Mark glass Coke bottles from places he traveled to add to his collection in the store. Its nice to know that a piece of my grandfather will always living on within the walls of Polar Cave.

The polar cave is by far the best location on the Cape to have a waffle cone ice cream. Waffle cones are made right there in front of you, while your waiting. It’s no wonder there is a line out the door anytime day or evening during the summer. Best time to go is before the after dinner crowds. Why not go before dinner, I have! Who needs dinner when you have the biggest and best tasting waffle cone on the Cape. Staff is great and you’ll often find the owner making the waffle cones. Great guy!

Owner was very nice to my family and the ice cream was delicious. We mistakenly came after hours and our two year old daughter was upset because she wanted ice cream. Unfortunately, they had already closed their registers and were cleaning up. However, the owner served us and didnt even charge us. He was very nice and it was much appreciated. Amazing ice cream. Recommend the signature frappes, sundaes and unusual ice cream flavors. Many size/portion options. Plan ahead. It can take a while to decide what to get. Cheerful, nice staff.They also found a way to make it work in 2020. Order online before arriving and plan to wait 5-20 min, depending on your order. Some orders require a lot of labor to complete. They are willing to limit orders (i.e. make less $) to follow Covid guidelines.Please remember to tip and be patient. If you refuse to follow 2020 order-ahead rules, cant handle being nice and/or are in a rush, then please dont go. Other customers and hard-working staff dont need you.

I never post reviews but hearing about the treatment of this small business and its HIGH SCHOOL CHILDREN employees from other customers I would like to give my review.Polar Caves ice cream has amazing ice cream, definitely the best on cape and the ice cream cake I got from there for my birthday one year was my favorite cake Ive ever gotten. That being said, whenever I have mentioned Polar Cave to my friends Ive raved more heavily on the customer service. The place was always busy when Ive gone but no matter how long Ive had to wait in line Ive never been bored. Especially the owner always brought kindness and entertainment to me in line. Very few places have stuck to me as places where I remember good customer service (usually I only remember the bad) but I remember the exceptionally good customer service.Polar Cave has the best ice cream on cape and the best customer service on cape, even during a time when caring for customers is inconvenient for customers.

The ice cream here is really good. Conveniently near Mashpee Commons (after the rotary) and Isaiah Thomas used book shop. They will roll your waffle cone when you order it so its warm - 😋 yum! Lots of fun cokebottle and candy decor.

I came in and had the nicest boy serve me. His name was wesley heard and was super helpful. He offered me help deciding my ice cream flavor and was extremely kind the whole time. I ordered a brownie mudslide as suggested and was blown away. The waffle bowls are also warm and delicious. Add a brownie topping to any flavor for the best dinner ever.

I loved the ice cream when i went for ice cream with my friends but the service was horrible we were waiting in the parking lot for half an hour. Also they messed up the order sizes and the canes tasted stale. but other than that the place was great.

From the minute you go through the door you are hit with one of the most delicious smells you will ever smelt in your life, even if you arent planning on getting a waffle cone you will! next you move on to all of their delicious flavors of ice cream, it is so hard to pick, so my suggestion is, get a large ice cream and get two or three flavors in it with your waffle cone of course. not only are the staff kind and courteous they are also very helpful. The owner is a true gentleman always making sure that the customer is happy and you will be! It is the best ice cream on Cape Cod it is a must-have! ENJOY!

My favorite local ice cream shop ever. Their ice cream is AMAZING!!! Im not sure how they do it, but almost every flavor Ive tried here surpasses all the others everywhere else. They also have a unique variety of flavors, many of which you dont find at a typical ice cream store. I dont even want to reveal what my favorite ice cream flavor is here because I dont want people to find out how delicious it is at the risk of it running out next time I go. Its THAT good.Another thing I love about Polar Cave is the decor. The whole shop is embellished with coke bottles, polar bears, and other neat little trinkets. As soon as you walk in, you are hit with the wonderful aroma of waffle cones. They also have games to play while you wait! And you WILL wait. The lines are almost always out the door, which brings this down to 4 stars. No fault of the business itself, but it can still take a really, really long time to get your ice cream because this place is so popular.

This is one of the only places I miss after I moved back to the lower cape from Mashpee. Not always can you find a business where the owner cares as much about his staff as the amazing product he churns (hehe) out. Peach and peppermint stick are my favs and their ice cream pies are amazing!

I’ll start by saying i’ve been coming here since i was a little kid with my dad. we come multiple times a year and i understand that the man who owns this business does so with HEART and passion. It is easy to tell by the cool decor in the place, the freshly made warm waffle cones, the lower prices (especially for cape cod ice cream!), and the presentation of the ice cream they serve here, that an EXTREME amount of care is put into serving the public here. I am leaving out the fifth star for now only because of the way the online ordering system has been working. i see what the goal is with this process and have much respect for the owner and employees for choosing to stay open. i understand that working like this in a pandemic is scary and confusing! i just think there is a more convenient way to serve the public during this time. i know i have no trouble waiting for this deliciousness, but the public has not been enthralled with the changes in the ordering system. as well as this, my 77 year old father struggled hard with the online ordering as he barely knows how to use the internet. i overheard other customers struggling with the confusing process as well. i feel that it would be beneficial to polar cave as well as their customers to try to jump the digital divide and possibly take orders at the customer’s cars and write them down, classic style. it’s super hard to drive by and see a wisp of what used to be a crowd outside of this place. there is so much heart here, and i just want to see it succeed! you guys are doing great, no hate, just want to see my fav ice cream place on the cape overcome this virus.

Id like to move in here. The smell is incredible - the second you walk in, you can smell the waffle cones being cooked and the sweet scent of ice cream. Seriously amazing ice cream. There is a great variety of flavors. My husband got the nitro coffee float, I got a Goldilocks in baby bear size (small scoops of 4 flavors), and my kids got small ice creams each. We will definitely be going back before our vacation is over.

Ive been going to the Polar Cave for many years now.Ive never seen the owner be anything else but the sweetest guy that he is.The ice cream is amazing!The kids that work there are kind,pleasant and thoughtful. I tell everyone its not just an icecream shop, its an experience.He has toys throughout the store for kids to play with and so many nostalgic things to look at while waiting. They even have a water bowl for your animal... I recently had a knee replacement. So I told the owner I wouldnt see him for a few weeks.He gave me his personal cell number and said,when you want so icecream call me and Ill have someone bring it to you at your house. What a wonderful person!!! Nothing but good things to say💜One more thing❣How will I get through the winter without the smiles and the happy faces! ❤💜

They are only taking orders im advance you cannot order any other way. Went on a tuesday night and could not make an order for 40 mins despite there only being 5 cars. It just seemed really inefficient. I understand that its good to be safe during corna but at the same time ive seen no other ice cream parlour use this model and they also dont really advertise it. Just seems like overkill and not really worth the time.

The hidden gem! I have traveled to the polar cave for years and feel it has the best ice cream that I have ever tasted. The frozen yogurts, well better than anybody elses ice cream. Coming back from Pirates Cove mini golf, the kids wanted Ice Cream. Polar Cave was on the way and we were intrigued about the fresh waffle cones offered.Fresh? They are right off the griddle and still warm. Ice cream is very good, lots of choices. Bear in mind, we were hungry and the weather was perfect. It was crowded but the lines moved quickly. I had a small and could bearly finish!I cant think of a better Ice Cream parlour. Finest Kind.

So good! I can only visit occasionally because its just TOO good. The ice cream is SO creamy and fresh, not an ice crystal anywhere to be found, right down to the last bite.

I’ve lived in Mashpee my whole life (23 years!) and have made an effort to stop at Polar Cave every year. As a kid I got the same flavor every time we went, but a few years back I decided to try at least one new flavor every year. And I’m never disappointed!The staff are always super friendly, especially the owner, who’s always there making fresh waffle cones and bowls for the guests. Honestly, he’s probably the nicest guy in the entire town, and if you don’t like the ice cream, go just to witness him and his kindness.The serving sizes are amazing. I’ve heard people complain about the prices, but then they’re given such generous servings they immediately stop complaining.The line is out the door most nights in the summer, but I promise the wait is worth it for the ice cream and the service.I dread the day I have to move away from the Cape, because that means not as many trips to Polar Cave!I’ve got my #PolarCavePride!

Just realized I havent left a review for this place yet... this place brings me so much happiness. I got the brownie mudslide ice cream in a waffle cone so many times last summer and do not regret that at all. The waffle cone is warm so it makes the chocolate a little melty which you BET I love. This wonderful little spot in the middle of nowhere on Route 28 is some of the best Ive cream Ive ever had, and the waffle cones are handmade to order. Cant beat it. Get here and enjoy!

I mistakenly ordered a frozen yogurt flavor after spewing hateful things about how much I didnt like yogurt. The nice young man behind the counter picked up on this and questioned my order .....I realized what I had done and nearly walked out ...because if Im that absent minded that I cant even figure out what is ice cream and what is frozen yogurt (rotten milk) than do I really deserve a dessert? No....no I dont. I ended up having one anyways and a coke! That was a good day.

Great place, has all the flavors! And they make their own waffle cones from scratch! My grandaughters loved that they were warm right off the stove!! My granddaughters both wanted gummies on their ice cream so they gave each a bowl of gummies to place as they wish on their ice cream! They definitely want to go back there! I thought it was very expensive but I guess if your getting homemade waffle cones, its worth the price! I had a small regular cone w/maple walnut, my favorite. It was delish and tasted so fresh. Customer Service was great as well!Its a cute hut type building with a few seats to sit at but mainly outside seating.its decorated with all things coke.
